Yo, I gotta share my two cents about this moped mechanic. Honestly, the dude charged me an arm and a leg for a tiny repair job that I later found out I could've done myself in 20 minutes thanks to YouTube. Plus, he was kinda rude and had a bad attitude towards me.Bottom line, I wouldn't recommend going to this guy for any moped repairs. His prices are ridiculous and his customer service skills are seriously lacking. Save yourself the hassle and find another mechanic who won't rip you off.

Big V took care of my car in a timely, inexpensive, and respectful way. I was able to send it over with a tow truck while I was at work and they took care of my busted radiator. The price was fair and the mechanic kept me informed of their work. I have used their services before and would definitely do it again. Thanks, Big V!

I called the day before and asked about availability for the next day to replace my front brakes and rotors and they told me to be there at 8am and they d be done by the afternoon. I dropped off my car, and they kept me updated throughout the day with costs and everything. They ended up having to replace my front brakes, rotors, calipers, and bled my system. They were done by 12:30pm and even showed me the damaged parts and why they had to replace them. They were very kind, and for parts and labor the price wasn t half bad either. I ve been there in the last couple of months to get my rear brakes and rotors replaced, and the service and price was exactly the same, these guys are consistent and amazing! I was here today and I wish I could give more stars. These are some seriously kind and lovely people. They do their job very well and make sure that everything is just right afterwards. We had our break pad and rotors changed along with some wheel alignment adjustments and they really went above and beyond. EXTREMELY fair priced and amazing service. We were there and out in a flash. If you have any concern about going to a new mechanic, please choose this one. They will treat you right!! Will definitely be back if and when I have more issues. Dishonest or incompetent? Hard to tell.Went in to get a trailer hitch out on my vehicle. First Bill argued with me that he wouldn t do it without printed manufacturers instructions. After I was able to find them, he told me he couldn t do it because my vehicle was missing the pieces to install it and it would require cutting into the frame and re-welding the necessary parts on. Turns out he was either lying or just can not count. All parts are present easily used/attached. I don t know if this place just didn t want my business or we re trying to soak me for unnecessary labor, but either way, thoroughly untrustworthy. Would actively discourage people from using their services.

We used this shop yesterday and had such a good experience!I arrived Monday evening to move my son home from Clemson and discovered his car was making an awful knocking noise. This was completely unexpected and definitely a huge stressor since my son had already completed his check-out with the RA and we had other obligations back home the next evening. I was not, however, comfortable driving the 300 miles home without having it looked at. I knew most every shop would be closed but tried calling around anyways. I of course received answering services at every shop I called. I did to my surprise receive a call back from Bill (the owner of Big V Automotive) just a few minutes after getting an answering service. Bill told me that we could bring the car first thing the next morning and he would take a look at it.Fast forward to the next day - we dropped the car off at 8:10 AM. Bill had it diagnosed and relatively fixed by 11:10 AM. It was only not "completely" fixed because there was a part that he recommended but was not in stock anywhere in Clemson (which was no fault of theirs). Bill was able to reassure me that my son's car would be completely fine to drive home and that we could wait to replace that part once we arrived. He had us on the road home by 11:30 AM. I will add that all of this was done while his internet was down; he could have easily told us he couldn't use his shop computer and not looked at the car, but he used a different resource instead because he knew how important this was to us and that we were in a time crunch.I am so happy we found this shop and had such a positive experience! I am also happy to know that it will be right down the road from my son if needed, when he moves back to Clemson in the fall. We will definitely use this shop again!Service: Auto engine diagnostic

Dude, let me tell you about Big V Automotive, the absolute kings of moped repairs! These guys are the real deal when it comes to fixing up your ride. I had a major issue with my engine cover, and I was freaking out, but these dudes swooped in and saved the day. They fixed it up in a jiffy, and get this, the charges were like pocket change! Will and Mac, man, they're the coolest in the business. Working with them was a blast! Trust me, if you need your moped fixed, you gotta hit up Big V Automotive. They've got the skills and the vibes to keep you rollin' smooth. Highly recommended, my friend!Service: Oil change

We recently moved our son into Clemson University and decided to purchase a moped for him to get around. After speaking with Seabass and Bill a few times on the phone and emailing pics of mopeds for me to pick from we went down, met with them and purchases a new moped, reasonably priced with AWESOME service.. Professional, friendly, knowledgeable. They even helped my son out when I couldn't from up North when the ulock got jammed and couldn't get it off the bike, drove over, helped my son out and helped him have a better first day of classes.Thank you so much Bill and SeaBass....You guys are the best!!!!

Bill (owner/technician of Big V) is the most honest car mechanic I've met. I called last week to drop of my car this morning to get it "checked up". I'm leaving for a cross-country road trip and just asked him to look everything over. I instantly felt that he was trustworthy from the moment I met him in person. He told me it would take about an hour, and that he would call me if he found anything that needed fixing. He directed me to the Central County Library a short walk away (super helpful!) and I just worked there for the day. He called in about an hour as promised, saying I needed new tires. I asked if I also needed an oil change (3 months overdue, but 2000 miles short), and he convinced me that it wasn't necessary. I was surprised he didn't try to wrangle that out of me when I was the first to bring it up.I took a lunch break and walked back to see my tires for myself, and he stopped what he was doing to explain how mine were falling apart-- took out a flashlight and showed me all the cracks and treads. I really appreciated his concern and attention to detail.He needed to get the tires delivered to his shop, so it took a few hours while I continued working at the library. I decided to take a break and check up on it again just as he was ringing me up. I was charged $324 for 4 Kelly tires, $105 for labor, and chump change in very reasonable fees. I wish I'd found out about Big V years ago! I don't have any friends who will still be in the area after graduation, but I HIGHLY recommend Bill's service to anyone looking for a car mechanic.

I have used. Big. V for years .. I have always gotten great service!!!! Bill really knows his business. There used to be 5 scooters sales an s service in the Pickens/ oconee area.now he's the only 1 left.why?? Do NOT take your vehicle here! The owner Bill had my Lexus for months and instead of simply saying the job was something he could not handle or find a resolution for he continued to buy new parts and put them on my vehicle, he stated he used to work for Toyota and had all the equipment needed to help correct the issue with my car not running more than a few seconds if it ran at all. After he had my vehicle for months, he finally gave up but became rude when it came to payment. He charged me for parts that didn't fix my car and even overcharged me for one part which I didn't see until I requested receipts. I pleaded for him to charge me just for the labor since nothing he did actually fixed my car. He then became rude and threatened to start charging storage fees for my vehicle being on his property after after me asking him why I was being charged for parts that didn't correct the issue on my car. I then had to pay to get my car towed to a Toyota dealership for a diagnostic and within 1 HOUR, I received a call saying a piston shot through the engine and repair cost would be more than what the car was worth. The owner Bill kept my car for months and charged for something that seemed to be quite obvious based on the Toyota Mechanic I spoke with. I ended up having to file a civil case with the magistrate office in Pickens in order to be reimbursed for the parts after speaking to multiple mechanics regarding the situation. My advice, do NOT take you vehicle unless you want to be cheated out of hundreds of dollars.

Visiting Clemson and dropped my car off the other afternoon after experiencing some engine troubles. They took my car and within a couple of hours they had diagnosed the problems and had solutions ready. The price was fair and I was walked through all the work they had to perform. 10/10 would recommend to a friend looking for a mechanic.

My daughter is a Clemson student. It takes a long time to find a mechanic you can trust, much more so when doing it via your daughter 100 miles away.They get it. We ve issues that needed $$. We have issues that they said meh, I wouldn t bother with it . In the beginning it was me dealing with them. She s comfortable enough with them, that she takes in as needed and I get only the advisory call.Highly recommend.

Wait I can't rate lower? Wow.First time I took my moped here, he charged me over 100$ in labor for something that takes two hours to replace. It ended up costing me 235$ for a new battery and one other part to be replaced.. New Carburetor I think? I didn't ask questions.2 months later and my moped was having problems starting. I took it in and he said it was the spark plug of course. I drive it down the road 1/4th of a mile and the engine started to misfire. So I turned around and he said he would charge me 300$ to rebuild the engine. I asked him if he would buy it from me for part and he said he would give me the money back I spent on repairing a SPARK PLUG. (Which ended up being 91.50$)Not only did this guy BREAK my moped, he has robbed me of over 300$DO NOT GO HERE END OF STORY

Great place for college students! I don't know anything about keeping up my old car. Bill always takes the time to explain what was wrong and why it happened. I've been multiple times and I've never felt like I was overcharged.

I took my car in to get fixed and they did a great job diagnosing the issue and getting my car fixed and back to me in a timely manner. Very professional and called me with multiple updates on my cars status. I definitely recommend taking it to Big V.

This has to be the absolute worst auto shop in the state of South Carolina. Read: DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER TAKING YOUR CAR/TRUCK/MOPED/MOTORCYCLE/ATV/4WHEELER/BICYCLE/RC CAR HERE!!! The other reviews saying that this shop is a money hole are 100% right. Bill (the owner) is out to get your money and that is all. Every time I've entered the shop (6-7 times) he has been working on his own project truck... Regardless that is not the reason why this is the worst auto shop in the state. I took my moped here, asked for an estimate, and returned the following day. Upon my return Bill demanded $133 for labor and a part he had added on. No estimate was given, rather a bill off $133 and a part that did not even get the moped running. I asked him to remove the part and pointed out that I did not request it to be fixed, but was asking for an estimate. He oh so generously acknowledged my request, removing the part. When I returned I found that the bill had been cut in half to $65!!! YAY! But for what? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. No new parts, only labor for installing and removing the part THAT I DID NOT ASK FOR. When I tried to point out that this price was not fair, Bill threatened to keep the moped or give him the money that he painstakingly stole from me. I begrudgingly obliged, ending up $65 in the hole with a moped that still does not run. I would rather take my next project to a highschool machine shop to see what the kids could do to it. I waited a few weeks to post this, thinking that I may be overreacting, but this place is absolutely absurd and I would advise going to any place within 30 miles if you need Auto work.-MattFeel free to email me with shop recommendations

I am definitely no master mechanic (obviously, I am taking my car to a mechanic), but I am mechanically inclined. Everything they have ever told me is wrong with any of my vehicles is completely legit. They also don't pressure you into doing the repair. They inform you of any issue, inform you of any consequence of not having it repaired, and let you decide what to do. Should that be not having them repair, they close the bill with no fuss. I have gotten nothing but honesty from these guys.

Limited moped technical knowledge and expensive. Performed work I did not ask for at a premium charge. I was not happy with the service. Moped was not ridable at pickup. I had to fix myself after a $254 charge.Service: Auto engine tuningService: Auto engine tuning

I will definitely take my car back to Ben and Bill. Toyota in Anderson told me before that my car's strut mounts needs to be replaced. It just didn't sound right that a 2009 Toyota strut mounts can be broken by now. I took my car to V Automotive for a second opinion. Ben took a look at it and also test drove it. He said that there is nothing wrong with my struts. 2 weeks later I took my Camry to Toyota in Easley for a oils change. After that they told me too that there is nothing wrong with the struts. I appreciate that Big V Automotive where honest and that is why I went back to get my Axels replaced at Big V. I am very happy with the job they have done. I also appreciated that Bill showed me the old axels they took out. They are very honest mechanics and reasonable prices. Awesome job.

These guys are fantastic! I blew my head gasket in my truck and had just started a new job and couldn't miss work and they went out of there way to make sure I made it to work the next day. I know they stayed late doing it and my bill was exactly what he quoted. And my truck has never run better. Thank you Big V

Do not bring your vehicle here. They will tell you they've fixed the problem...and you'll immediately have the same problems. I took my moped to them 3 times to have them fix the "simple problem". It must not be that simple if they couldn't fix it... They're thieves, don't wasted your business here.

Never take anything to get fixed at the Big V in Central, SC. They did $180 worth of damage to my 6-month old moped, while charging me $75 to do it! They are crooks, but what goes around comes around. Everyone will hear about this!
