My wife picked up a nail into her new car s tire. I called Melvin s. They were perfect! Got me right in on a busy Sunday afternoon and fixed it quickly. Reminded me of the way service used to be; polite, curious and professional.Thank you guys, you ve made a loyal customer out of me. Not only for how we were treated but because I observed how all of the other customers were treated there as well. Keep up the good work!!! Hopefully next time I only have to see you for scheduled maintenance!Frank Giarrusso

Firstly, Jason was phenomenal! Honestly, it s rare nowadays to get excellent customer service and not be seen as a dollar sign. But instead Jason was very understanding, caring about our situation (road trip from CT with sudden tire damage), knowledgeable, and eager to help us work something out. Not only that, we were in and out in less than an hour (thanks to the awesome tire tech Quincey who we met and helped explain everything to us afterwards!). For all this I am extremely grateful. This place is awesome! I had a road trip planned and my tire pressure was still low after adding more air. I called and was seen right away as a walk-in. Turned out I had a screw in my tire. After a short wait my tire was fixed - free of charge! Will be back

Absolute life savers. Had a flat, and they were the only place open on Sunday. They got me in right away and had my tire repaired within 20 minutes. These guys are great!!!

Jason and Andrew and the crew at the North Kingston (RI) location really took care of us today (Sunday, March 24th). We were passing through the area on our way back home to northwestern Massachusetts when we experienced a flat tire. Our vehicle is only 2 years old, but was definitely getting to the point where we were going to need new tires soon anyway. Jason was super knowledgeable and helped us find a set of All-Weather tires that were actually on sale so that was an added bonus. In addition, they were able to get those new tires mounted & balanced very quickly, with the entire process only taking ~90 minutes, which we greatly appreciated as we had our 3 small/friendly (but barky) dogs with us as we waited for service. Thanks for the outstanding service today, Fellas! We are very happy to recommend Melvin s Tire & Service by Mavis!

I had a great experience at Melvin's Tire and Auto Service Centers today. They were able to look at my tire within the hour I called and fixed it in about 30 minutes. They were very friendly. I would absolutely go back for any future mechanical issues. Thank you!

Been buying tires and automotive services from Melvin's in N. Kingstown for about six years. They have a great selection of tires, good pricing (don't try to rip you for mounting/balancing or disposal fees), and prompt and flawless work. Highly recommended.

Exceptional service, and as a bonus even with a wonderful smile. We were there on Christmas Eve and needed our tire fixed so we could use the car the next day to go visit family on Christmas. Not only were they open Christmas Eve but our service was prompt and professional. I have been to two other tire places within the past 4 months and there's no question this is the best of the three mentioned. They are more welcoming, more professional and our problem was solved very quickly can't thank you enough, Melvin's, I'll be back every time.

Melvin s Tire & Auto Service is the real deal. We just went in on New Years Eve and they responded to us in a timely manner and were able to fix and replace my tire no problem. They were extremely professional and knowledgeable and the overall environment was so comforting for the incoming customers. I m so grateful for their service and without hesitation recommend them to anyone needing any sort of car assistance or tire repair!

Really poor service at North Kingstown Tire and Auto service. I went to get a new tire put on my car and after waiting for the receptionist to finish her personal phone call, I was told they do not service tires unless you buy the tires from them. The mechanics had empty bays and 1 was reading his cell phone with no work to do. I remember when every gas station was a service station and they were proud to work on your car for you. Now it seems some service centers are just there to make a quick dollar. Melvin tire and auto service is one of those. I recommend you stay away.

My son is is a college student and lives in Narragansett. He noticed a screw in one of his tires and went over to Melvin s assuming he needed a patch. Turned out the screw had not punctured the tire - was just wedged in between treads. They removed it and didn t charge my son. I appreciate their honesty! Thank you!

I want to personally thank Melvin's / Mavis Tires for helping my daughter with her flat tire. She is a student at URI and Hector from Melvin's helped her right away especially where I am 4+ hours away. I am grateful for the amazing customer service and helping my daughter. I highly recommend Melvin's / Mavis Discount Tires. I use Mavis in New York and they also provides the best customer experience and service. Thank you Again !

Need a good reliable repair shop?Go to Melvin s Tire Pros in NK.I first went there because I wanted a 2nd opinion on a pricey quote I was given for repair work.I was informed that most of the work was not even needed and my repairs would be about 1/3 of what the original repair shop told me!That was 4 vehicles ago and I still go there even though I now live in a different town.You can get tires, state inspections, and they offer a full range of repair services. Melvin s gets the job done in a timely manner @ competitive pricing. Staff is courteous and efficient.They are busy because they are good. Schedule appointments in advance if you can.

This was not the first time that I have used Melvin's but today was truly a great experience! I made an appointment to have my tire checked for a possible nail in it. I had left work to get this done and was concerned that I was going to be gone for a few hours. Stephanie at the desk greeted me with a smile and asked me how she could help. She reviewed all of my information, took my keys and asked me to have a seat until my car was ready. The waiting area was very comfortable with coffee, a TV, and access to WiFi. This location was very busy, but Stephanie was great in knowing exactly what was going on with who's vehicle and addressing everyone's concerns. Within a half hour, Stephanie was calling my name to let me know that my car was ready. She explained and showed me the nail that was taken out of my tire. I signed off on the paperwork, and my car was waiting for me out front. I was back to work within an hour. It was a great experience, and I would definitely recommend Melvin's to friends and family.

First time I ve been here. Remarkable experience, everyone was so inviting and made it a very comfortable visit. I had 2 new tires installed and an oil change and It was finished before I could finish my lunch at Newport Creamery next store. Thank you Melvins

Excellent service, fair pricing, and always done on time. When I leave Melvin/ Mavis Tire, I never feel over charged, and know that the work was completed, and necessary. Great company, highly reccommend,

Called to ask if they would mount outside tires, yes no problem, made an appointment. Get there and the attitude is THICK about the outside tires. "Helping customers who actually paid for tires" repeated over and over. Melvin's, why can't you charge more for installation of outside tires? I accept responsibility for the fit etc. The install was good, but the attitude is off-putting.

My tire blew on the way to work in the morning. Called Melvins and they were able to get me in and out same day! Really convenient. Not to mention, the tire prices are excellent and customer service was the best. Will be coming back!

I dealt with Melvin Tire for a few years. In the past they had great service. Can't complain I just wanted to give a shot out, too. Hector Nick and the new hire Jason. The service that they showed was exceptional and I really appreciate it.

I brought my vehicle in yesterday in an emergency. They saved my engine and turned it around in twenty four hours. I was charged fairly and they communicated clearly and efficiently. We're long-time customers for a reason.

Yeah not impressed. I have used this location many times in the past for my business vehicles. Always treated well. Recently, went there with a slow leak in my tire on my dump truck. Told me hour and a half, two hours , we ll get it done . Sat there for 3 hours and had the guy tell me they couldn t do it. If i treated my customers like that, id be out of business. Should have just said that from the beginning. Lost a customer with many vehicles for good. Already found a better replacement.

I was in a bad mood which, I'm embarrassed to say, I vented onto the counter staff. They in turn, were professional and courteous - five stars for putting up with my cranky butt!Melvin's has for years been our family's "go-to place" for car issues - especially so for my stepdaughter, who has had nothing but praise for them. When things are busy, yes, the wait can be a while - but take a look at their work bays, and everyone is working; no-one is dawdling. Work takes time, good work takes more time. I'd rather wait for them to do it right than get a quick & nasty that five miles down the road needs re-doing by someone else."A professional works at a steady pace that allows him to miss no details whilst getting them done thoroughly in a manner that will last as long as possible." Melvin's are pros.

Brought my car in for repair and when there were still issues they fixed under warranty no problem. Customer service is great! Everyone is very nice and provide excellent attention to detail so I can understand the work completed.

Working in the NK area and got a puncture in my tire that could not be plugged. Staff was very friendly and helpful, had me back on the road quicker than expected. Will definitely use Melvin s in the future.

Nick at the front desk is a terrible communicator both with the customer and the garage manager. So if you have a serious mechanical issue I advise taking it somewhere with more experienced mechanics and more professional staff. If you are leaving it there for the day, buyer beware.
