Always takes care of me! Nick does fantastic work, and always stands by his work! He has found and repaired problems that I had been chasing for awhile. He is super organized and neat! He also takes videos of the work in progress and keeps you updated. Definitely my go to mechanic for my BMWS!

Nick has gained my trust. In a time where you feel financially molested by dealerships, or feel like an inconvenience when you walk into other independent shops, it was a breath of fresh air. I don't just want somebody who's technically competent, but also somebody who has service in mind. You're a customer, but you feel like you're giving your car to a buddy who is only a text or call away. With a VW that's almost 10 years old and 130k miles, it's reassuring to have found him.

I cannot praise Nick at Foreign & Domestic Autoworks enough. I bought a used 2007 BMW E93 and needed a trusted partner to bring the car up to speed. Before finding Nick, I interviewed a few places to work on my car. But from the first conversation I had with Nick, I knew he was the right person to service my car. He took the time to understand what I was looking for, made educated suggestions and then followed thru with quality work. He overhauled my suspension and even parts that were not replaced were reconditioned to brand new. As the work was progressing, he shared videos and photos, which made me feel like a part of the project. I highly recommend Nick for any work you need done on your car. It is clear that he really enjoys what he does and his enthusiasm is contagious. He's trustworthy, knowledgeable, hardworking and passionate about his work. I look forward to having him work on my car for a long time!

I can't recommend Nick enough! Finding an honest and fairly priced mechanic these days can be a real challenge, but Nick exceeded all expectations. We found Foreign & Domestic Autoworks in a desperate online search. Our older BMW 328i had been sitting for a few years during the pandemic and on returning to work in the office, my wife was overwhelmed with a horrible gas smell while driving. Since the many reviews about Nick were so outstanding, we decided to take our car in at least for an estimate. We dropped off our car after work (he conveniently has a lock box outside for after hour drop offs). Nick kept in touch with us throughout the whole repair process by text, email and phone. He sent us a thorough and very fair estimate. We spoke by phone to go over it and he patiently answered all of our questions and concerns. We now have the good fortune of joining all of the other happy customers Nick has! Not only does he do excellent work, he is professional, kind and he went out of his way to make sure that we understood what work he had completed and that we were satisfied. It was a pleasure meeting him and knowing that we now have a reliable and trustworthy place to have our car repaired. We highly recommend Foreign & Domestic Autoworks.

Having your car serviced with Nick at Foreign & Domestic Autoworks is like taking your vehicle to a trusted family member or friend.I own a tuned Audi S4 - Brief back story, I ironically crossed paths with Nick at my local barber following a poor service job at a nearby shop.Nick graciously offered to take my vehicle right in to correct the issues and provided a level of detail, service, and care that I have yet to encounter with any mechanic or specialty shop I ve visited in Rhode Island.Nick is not your average mechanic - he is an artist! Meeting and working with Nick is far more than your basic automotive service - It is an EXPERIENCE into an individual that truly loves servicing & enhancing performance vehicles or any vehicle.Nick was in constant communication with me throughout my repair process; providing detailed videos, guidance and recommendations along the way.I had a complete front suspension rebuild on my Audi. So I bought a used Audi TT convertible which needed some attention. I was recommended to Nick and brought it over to him guessing it had some issues. Nick lifted the hood and pointed out many issues that he could see before further diagnosing it - it did not look good at all. Nick explained everything to me in detail. It was actually a mess with bad oil leak and many other issues causing it to not run right - myself not being a motor guy, Nick pointed out some real hack work that had been previously done in there. I left the car for further Diagnosis - then Nick emailed me an extremely detailed quote and scope of the work needed to be done - and he also went over it on the phone with me with real solutions, needs and recommendations. I approved the work to be done.When the job was done, I can tell you I was completely blown away before I even drove it when Nick lifted the hood and showed me the engine. Talk about going above and beyond - everything was brand new down to every nut and bolt. It was spotless! Needless to say when I drove the car, it was absolutely spot on and running like new!The total cost of my repair was so fair for the work completed, and would have been triple the amount at the dealer - but not only that, my car received such great attention and detail of work which I have never received in the past when it came to a car repair.I mean there is having work done on your car to fix something just to get it done - and then there is Nick working on your car with some absolute honest an truly extra care in doing it 100% right - which I myself certainly appreciated.Nick had such a positive attitude about MY car from the time I brought it there and all through the diagnosing and communications regarding the work. He just simply takes pride on working on YOUR car like it's his own, and the workmanship and results show it.Thanks again Nick - No speeding tickets yet!Service: Engine repair

So something is wrong with your beloved car. You take it to a shop and you have that unsettled feeling that the nonchalant mechanic fixing your car truly just doesn t care or really understand the issue you are having. Terrible communication, a sense of distrust Yup we ve all been there before.That ends with Nick.There isn t another mechanic in the world that will legit care for your car more than you do and ever will, and you know it from the second you talk to Nick. He s incredibly honest and transparent, fair with pricing, and rest assured, I ve seen it with my own eyes - Nick fixing little things he notices here and there (at zero cost) just because the wrong nut/bolt/fastener was put on from a previous mechanic. There is not a more passionate and thorough mechanic out there, but more importantly a person who prides himself on honesty and integrity.If you need your car fixed properly with peace of mind there s no one else to consider. It s that simple.

Nick is the only person from here on out that I will trust with my car. Not only is he an experienced mechanic he is also honest and professional. He had my car repaired in an extremely timely manner and the work he did was superb. I have a Mercedes C300 and brought it to him to repair my exhaust. He exceeded my expectation and my car is running better than ever. Do not sleep on this shop.Service: Exhaust

While searching for a BMW service center around Johnston RI area I ran into the Foreign & Domestic Autoworks website. After reading the few reviews on the site I was impressed by what seemed to be stellar reviews. I called the shop received many statements from the owner Nick that struck me in a very positive way, number one being he loves what he does. I've worked on cars enough in the past and done enough research to decipher what was a very complete knowledgebase of all things automotive from Nick, the owner.My BMW X1 had been stuck in my driveway for quite a while after moving from the Midwest to Rhode Island about 7 months ago. A mixture of bad warranty work from a large foreign car dealership, the vehicle sitting to long, and just having those known BMW issues had me disabled. -- The engine oil leaked severely from the warrantee work, very bad breaks, and an electrical problem from Hell had me where I couldn't get the car towed in.Long story short. My car was fixed to a more than satisfactory state at a very reasonable cost and I love my car again. The service was done in a very reasonable time frame once I got myself in gear to get it there. I had complete faith in F&D Autoworks to fix the car I once loved after many gracious conversations with Nick where we finally got the car to the shop.I used to have a business motto, "A personal approach to a professional practice." This seemed to be Foreign & Domestic Autoworks approach throughout this entire process and I'm genuinely pleased providing a 5 Star, 100% satisfaction rating to Nick and his business.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Electrical, Engine repair

This shop has a high attention to detail for many aspects in auto repair. I asked the mechanic what the big green box was in the corner and he took the time to show me what it was. He took a 7 in bolt that was in bad shape, put it in the machine, then blasted it with the tool and abrasives to refurbish it. It look almost new when it came out.He mentioned that it's not just about repairing cars, but making sure that the nuances such as cleaning the threads of the bolts for functionality and removing surface rust for the aesthetics was important to him.He had cars on the lift that he was working on but he took his time and never rushed me along to explain what I needed.Highly recommend this shop.

Can t say enough great things about Nick and this shop. I came to Nick needing to get a part fixed before I left for vacation. Not only did he come through in a timely manner but he was an absolute pleasure to do business with. Nick is extremely trustworthy, knowledgeable and professional. I took my BMW to Nick after it overheated on the highway from a bad water pump. He got my car in quick and went above and beyond my expectations. I had an issue I couldn't resolve with my VW Jetta TDI SEL, both red oil light and check engine light were on. I was frantically looking for a place online to take the car - knowing I shouldn't be doing a Thanksgiving road trip with the lights on. I messaged Nick on foreigndomesticautoworks.com in the morning, hoping for an appointment either the next day or Friday, but also understanding that no other shop had availability until next week. Not only was Nick able to diagnose the issues right away, he ensured both lights were off, ensured my diesel was in great shape, he did it the same day and is an extremely personable expert (I got lucky for same-day). Support your small businesses, and definitely support this one, at his new location... Especially if you have a European car!
