I have been a loyal customer for almost 2 decades even if I ve lived at different locations, I never thought I would have to try to find another electric supplier. I don t even know if I can but my issue is this first when you call you re on hold for like an hour and then when you try to get the call back They don t call you back I m a single dad with four kids. I ve been struggling I get that bills need to be paid. I totally understand and I ve always made my payments. Even if they ve been late, my payments have been received this last bill I come to find out that I was assessed Around $500 for a security deposit after I was told because I made my payment in March and paid extra and got caught up that I was good until the next bill which should ve only been what my budget was approximately $190 and now I got to figure out how to come up with $728 by the end of April with everything else going on around us I don t understand especially when customers have been loyal. I am very disappointed with this company I served my country, hoping that we lived in a nation where there was a little bit more empathy and compassion, but I m learning the order I get that that s just not the case I ll find a way to pay this bill but I do not recommend this company if you can help it if I m able to find a way to find another energy provider I will be doing so I tried to call them twice and requested a call back Still have not received it every time I ve requested a call back. Actually I ve not gotten it back hopefully Met Ed you see this review and you change this practice because it s not good business

Disabled brother's power was shut off. After waiting on the line for over an hour, they couldn't take a credit card gave my bank account to get power on and was told it could take up to 3 days! Went to local west penn, website says open until 6, drove there sign on the door says no customer service.

First one month bill was 859$. Called because surely that must be a mistake. No, the lady assured me that was a standard rate. Really great that my utility bill is 75% of my rent. So now I just freeze in my house because I can't even afford to keep it warm. Terrible company.

They send out bills late. Payment can not reach them in time. So a late charge is added and "cannot be removed". I received a bill on a Sat and it was due that Monday. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE!!! Waited on hold, argued with someone and was then placed back on hold.

This is what west Penn Power @W_Penn_Power did to a tree in front of our house. It is the most awful job I have ever seen and now it s so lopsided that I worry the tree is a danger. West Penn Power is responsible for this atrocity.

Called 3 times in the last two weeks. Waited 30 mins each time before I needed to move in with my day and requested a call back that they estimated should be between 15 and 30 minutes. I haven't received any call back yet (2 WEEKS later) and have no idea when I'll be next in queue for one. They also charge a mandatory deposit for service. Why? What do you need a deposit for? An actual scam.

If I could give WPP zero stars I would. Their prices are ridiculous, their customer service sucks, and when you find a different supplier they won't process it correctly (or at all). Worthless company.

Tree down on a line covering the only road in and out to my home and 2 others but still had power. Took them 4 hours to come "assess" it then just shut the power off and left without warning. We were told tree trimmers aren't working overnight and West Penn employees were out of man hours for the day. We asked what would happen if there was a medical emergency or a fire broke out since no one can get in or out and they pretty much said too bad. This is also the 3rd time this year that this happened on our road.

The woman I spoke to at first was very professional. The 2nd one not so much.If you're using them as a commercial related. It's absolute highway robbery. Go somewhere else.

Hour long hold times... But I do have to say I was satisfied with my phone call. I got an extension on my termination notices while still qualifing for a payment plan as an option. So while the hold time was a little rediculous, I called an hour before closing and the operator picked up at 6 on the dot and I was able to get helped after hours technically. From the reviews I've seen and the experience Ive had, I'd have to say it all depends who you get as an operator 10/10 to the lady that helped me today.

What a scamming company. Ran my credit saw I had an 800 score then tries to charge me a security deposit because I haven't had an account in the past 2 years. Pick a different provider.

Worst client service I have ever seen. Waited for hours to start a service in my new apartment. I am still not sure if electricity will be on in my apartment when I get back from work today. Please avoid this company !

If you have any problems and need to call West Penn Power, be prepared to wait for hours on hold and be transferred multiple times. When you do get a real person on the line like Missy they are really rude and will hang up on you for no reason making you wait through the queue again without any resolutions.

Absolutely horrible. Called paid my bill on time received a confirmation. Was never withdrawn from my account. Called and was told my account was past due. Was charged again. Now my bank statement shows I was charged twice. West Penn said there is nothing they can do.

Tree fell on wire. West Penn had 5 daylight hours to cutup the tree and fix the wires. West Penn didn't fix it and the police just closed the road and left the tree on the wires overnight. I guess they just shut off the power to 3 neighborhoods rather than trying to fix it. Automated system hung up on me so I couldn't make a complaint. All my food in my refrigerator will have to be thrown out. Don't know when they'll fix this.

This is the worst company i have ever had to deal with. I set up my power 3 months ago and have spent over 10 hours on hold with them since initially trying to set everything up. In addition I have been hung up on multiple times by customer service agents and they did not set my account up right so i was being charged almost $300 for my first month. Do not use this company if it is not absolutely necessary.

This is beyond horrible. I have not had electricity for 2 days now. And i called over 10 times to wither be put on hold and be forgotten or for them to hang up on me or for them to transfer me between 3 agents, JUST TO PUT MY NAME ON THE BILL !

Worst customer service in State college!! I called to set up service and was place on several 1hr call backs then waited 3 hrs on a transfer to the wrong department! Customer service representatives were not helpful and rude. I started calling at 8am, its after 3 and I'm still on hold! If this is how I'm treated as a future customer and I'm extremely concerned about their service for existing members. Unfortunately this is the only light company in my area. :( Avoid if you can.

Customer service is terrible. Most people are clueless and a few times the line became disconnected. They never called me back. Stay far away if you can. Would have given negative stars if possible.

Was on hold for an hour with the machine before it just hung up on me... twice. 45 min its the second time. Now the machine wants me to wait 2 hours on hold after i waited all this. TWICE it hung on me after being on hold. The machine is also impossible to use. Worst experience ever.

Squirrel got fried and my power went out. Called and hated the automated machine but sent me to a CSR. Someone came out and got my power back on in a little over two hours. Thankfully nothing got damaged!

Yesterday my wife and I while sitting on our back porch (in central Pa) we heard a very loud "pop" and looking over at a utility pole along the road noted a large puff of white smoke coming from what looked like a transformer. Our power was not affected but I still called the West Penn hotline and spoke to a rep in WVA. I told her what we observed and made sure she understood we did not an outage. Within 25 minutes two West Penn trucks arrived at the pole! I spoke with the one repair person telling him what we heard and observed. And, I complimented him on what I thought was a very speedy response. Indeed, homes elsewhere in the neighborhood experienced a loss of power. I really appreciated how fast the company responded.

If i could give less stars i would by far worst power company ever ive had them for 8 years now and this year they decide to slap a 300.00 security deposit on my bill because i pay it after the due date it's always paid just after the due date because of when i get paid so not only did they raise there rates high now right before winter months they slam me with security deposit

Sent a notice out stating the power would be off for about 10 hours today then everything would be up and running again well now I have no cable, internet, and my phone lines are out. The bad part is it's a sunday and cant do anything about it. This business is beyond garbage

Garbage service. Routine maintenance to service things and they say power will only be out for roughly 3 hours and ends up being out all day lol
