Good, trustworthy mechanic to work on European cars. Would definitely recommend for college students or anyone looking to for a quality European car mechanic that costs much less than it would at a dealership.

I highly recommend Gemini !My daughters 2014 Audi broke down and John arranged to have it towed to his shop. He thoroughly diagnosed and fixed the problem and kept my daughter and I informed during the process. He is 100% honest and reliable and his pricing is extremely fair !

First experience with car repairs in state college. I have kids down there in college. I took a chance not knowing anything about anyone down there and had my wife call Gemini. He was courteous and knowledgeable. He's familiar with Saabs and if you are then that says a lot. John got the job done quickly. He was courteous and professional. Took the time to talk. I would say if you just let him do his job then he'll do a good one. I know cars but had to depend on a stranger due to distance and time constraints. I highly recommend this shop especially for Euro cars because of the competence, professionalism, and integrity I experienced. It was refreshing to deal with this garage, receptionist was also very professional.Second experience with John at Gemini Auto. My son went back to PSU before we had a chance to repair an exhaust leak. I called John first and explained the details to him. Then my son contacted him for an appointment. He was VERY accommodating. After the job was done I called to thank him. He gave me helpful advice based on his experience which he didn't have to do. Told me what problems this particular model was having and how to avert/prepare for the possibility.I disagree with the opinion that John is rude based on my experience. I actually think he has a pretty big heart... I know for a FACT that he is highly competent, runs a good business with very fair prices, and doesn't waste much time on nonsense.

I own a Volvo and am based near the State College area, and I can tell you - if you are looking for a trustworthy, quality car mechanic, this is your place! I came here when my car was having troubles with the oil tank - John pretty much immediately knew exactly what was up, made the necessary repair in great time, and now my car runs like new.I was especially happy, because here, I was charged about $400 less for parts than another mechanic in the area told me this would cost. I'll thank John's expertise for this, and would be happy to provide more details to anyone who's curious!Another thing is that at every stage, John took the time to teach me about what was going on with my car, explaining to me in great detail what the problems were, what he would be doing, and what I would need to do going forward. I seriously, sincerely appreciated this, as I am a new car owner and it feels great to know that I can take a little bit better care of my car now.Again, this is a great place to take your car if you have any troubles at all!

Honest, reliable, inexpensive and highly recommend. I was quoted for a major engine repair at the Audi dealer in State College. Before spending a large sum of money, I decided to get a few more quotes before I made the repair. I was recommend to Gemini from the Ford Dealership and I am very thankful of this. Gemini quoted me about $1000 less than the original quote and then delivered the repair faster then expected and less then their original quoted price. When it was all said and done, Gemini saved me over $1300 and the repairs have been successful. I would highly recommend this professional auto service center.

TL;DR: Got foreign car? Go to this place if it s need a repair.I got great experience at Gemini. My old bmw x5 suddenly won t start up and shaking while turning. I was went to dealership month ago they told everything are alright. Then I go to Gemini try my luck. Apparently, I made a right choice. I got there with no appointment but John arranged to help me out even they re pretty busy at that time. They found out what s going on and fix it quick. Compare to dealership couple thousand bucks charges and did nothing. Gemini is much better and more professional. This place really want to help you not just want grab cash from you.Definitely gonna recommend to my friend.

The guy is not a people person. Asked about doing a clutch install. Was bringing the clutch to him. Got a nasty email reply saying he wouldn't work on it if I brought my own part. Understandable. In most cases people bring the wrong part. I emailed back assuring him I had the right part and explained I knew what I was doing as I had replaced the clutch on another 135i and just didn't want to do it again. He didn't care at all and said he wouldn't work on it, very rudely I might add.My mother took her Volkswagen there and he talked to her like she had no idea what she was talking about. Her husband called to clear things up. They both said it seemed that he was talking down to my mother because she was a woman.The only reason people go here and rate it highly is because this is the only shop in State College, other than dealerships, that can properly fix European cars. Well, other than Centre Auto but that's all the way out in Centre Hall.

I had to use their services when I blew out a tyre commuting to work on 99 one morning. Precise and accurate information they provide for you. I especially like how the one guy saw a major major problem with the breaking in the tyre I blew out that the auto dealership, which I got the car from, didn t even notice . And the car issue could have turned into something much worse. Excellent service

I could not get any service from this guy because he is a very aggressive and rude. I went there wanted to get my car checked. It is second hand so I didn't have the service papers. He also gave me a very interesting life lesson about how I should treat my car. I mean I thought about it optimistically and listen to him but then he started to tell how many totaled Audi's he has on garage, how small town cops don't have anything to do and they will harass me or stuff like that. I cannot see anyhow business can survive without simple manners. It is not like I would care but I would never want my friends, girlfriend or mom to go there and hear bunch of crap from a very moody guy.On the other hand cabs around the city told me that he is a pretty good as a mechanic. So if you are a "man" unlike me and treat your car like it is your wife, keep every service paper and have more money than usual, go there. Have a "man" talk with him about cars. If you are a regular guy like me who uses his car from point a to point b, you will regret.

Great folks. Great shop. HIGHLY recommend. My Audi is approaching 350K, and it's all due to these folks. Really worth giving them a try.Bonus, often there is a friendly doggie or two to welcome you.

I had a ML-320 that starting acting up while I was on vacation in State College--it was stuck in second gear. The local dealership gave me a quote of $2,422.90 to replace the electrical plate and some solenoids. I took it to Gemini and John replaced the plate for just over $800 and the car has been driving fine ever since. Highly recommended.

I had a fantastic experience when my daughter, a PSU student, needed to get her Mini worked on. The folks at Gemini were super helpful, always available by phone and super fast. They did a great job and the price was right! I highly recommend them!

This guy is an idiot. His car knowledge, especially when it comes to aftermarket parts is laughable. He basically tries to impose his taste onto the customer and if what you want doesn't coincide with his opinion he will just harass you. He's an ignorant, rude and lacks any type of customer service ability. I bought a FACTORY OEM short shift kit for my Porsche and he tried to tell me it was junk and wasn't even a short shifter. After advising me against it about 37 times he finally reluctantly installed it. Suprise....he was wrong and it improved shift feel immensely. He is a clown. Also they don't even call you when you car is finished and what your end bill will be is a total mystery. I sincerely do not know how this guy has any business. Save yourself the hassle and go elsewhere.

You want pleasant conversation? Talk to a priest. You want your car maintained/repaired by skilled mechanics? Bring it to Gemini. There's a reason why it takes awhile to get your car in, and why it costs more than other places; because there are many other people who are regular customers and want great care for their car.

Unfortunately, it is impossible to give zero stars b/c that is what this business deserves. The guy tried to charge more than the dealer to fix our car (and our dealer was not cheap). Turns out he was also wrong about the parts it needed. Then he yelled at us when we said no thanks. The guy is a classic narcissist. If you value your money, or you happen not to like rude idiots, you should take your business elsewhere.

Brought my Infiniti FX35 here with electrical problems stemming from faulty factory radio. John's expertise led to a very cost effective solution to my problem. The car is fixed, and in the process- I got to meet another drag racer. I will be bringing Gemini more work, and would recommend their shop to anyone needing repairs in the State College area without reservation.

the guy is an absolute thief...says a lot about knowing cars but would rip you off of your wallet for baby sitting your car at his garage. He once charged 200 bucks for cleaning my brakes and doing nothing with it. Anyway I'd rather you take your car to some trustworthy guy.

If you're looking for somebody to butter you up when you talk to them, John isn't the guy to do it. If you're looking for somebody to give you helpful advice about your car, John's your guy. I'd be dealing with an issue with my '99 Wrangler for a year and half and had spent hours of my time and hundreds of dollars trying to figure it out. My mechanic (Paul Peakes at Peakes Auto - highly recommended) recommended that I give Gemini a call. When I got in touch with John and explained to him what my problems were, he told me to get outside in the nice weather over the weekend and go back to the basics instead of expecting it to be a complicated and expensive solution. Lo and behold on Saturday morning I solved the problem myself thanks to John's advice. I just called him now to say thank you and he was very polite. Quit being so concerned with how "rude" he is - he knows cars and can help you if you're having problems with your vehicle.

Resurrected my 2001 VW TDI, when no one else could. I'd been told by lesser mechanics it couldnt be repaired. It now runs like new! Staff is great! I took one of my grandkids with me and they were delighted to meet Geminis mascot, Wally. A big friendly dog who played fetch and kept grandchild entertained.

VERY rude with absolutely horrible customer service. Look around at the rest of these reviews and you will get the picture. Would not recommend. They wanted my truck for 4 days to do a carb adjustment. Ridiculous

very very very rude. would never take my car here. ask for an estimate over the phone and just gave me talk and never helped.
