Great team at O Briens. They saved the day when my tire went flat. Plugged me up and sent me on the way. Helped me make the best, cost efficient decision for my car and situation. Makes sense why these guys have been in business for 30+ years.And the shop cat is super cute!

These are the guys. This is the spot. This has been my go to spot for years and I won t go anywhere else. Honest, straight shooters with over 30 years of experience. My sound system blew out and they had the thing knocked out and working in a day. Great for electrical work and great all around.

Fantastic experience. Fixed my car phenomenally after an accident.Since moving to Philly I was nervous about finding a trusted mechanic and I m so glad I was recommended to them. They always treat me and my car well. I ve gone to dealerships in the past who try to upcharge or say you need unnecessary services.They re upstanding people who get the job done and they put in the extra effort to make sure you re all set. The best! My check engine light was on, they offered me a few options on parts etc so that I'd be able to stay within budget.Francis is the greatest and he explained everything to me, put me with a Nissan specialist mechanic there, and within 24 hours I was back on the road and my car has never run better.I was thinking of giving up the sweet, sweet Maxima but now that I've found these guys, I get to keep my baby for much, much longer.Thanks again!

Juan from O'Brien's Auto Service Center is the best mechanic. He put my transmission in within a couple of hours with no problems at all. I'm happy with the work that Juan did and made sure everything was perfect. He took the time to check the transmission lines to make sure that they weren't getting pinched anywhere and had a good connection with no leaks. I would definitely recommend O'Brien's Auto Service Center for any automotive needs and Juan the mechanic who took care of me.

My husband took our civic here for state inspection and emissions. He was told it needed some front end work and an alignment. Upon driving on highway it was drifting to the right and steering was off center. He took it back, but after he left the car was still drifting to the right, and steering was off center the other way. He took it to a Honda dealer, and they fixed it and said the alignment was way off. We have had work done here before, this is the 2nd time he had to take a car back for work not being done properly.

I called here to have a PA inspection sticker replaced. He started by telling me why a different vendor I used for a separate service was a bad choice, which I didn t really understand the significance of the statement. From there, he quoted me $35-40 for a replacement sticker, which just requires a new sticker to be written and logged with the state as the inspection is still valid. When I didn t sound pleased, he told me he d call me back - he did return the call and said he could do it for $20. The large decrease in price made me skeptical so I checked with a different shop who said the rate for that is $13. This guy tried pretty noticeably to rip me off on a very small service - who knows what he d do for a larger one. If you choose to go here, I d recommend getting a separate quote for your service before you do at a minimum. I will not be taking my vehicle here ever.

I do not review places negatively but on this occasion I feel like I really need to express my experience to spare other people. Normally I wouldn't really trust any mechanic besides the one that I usually go to but this time I wanted to do a mechanic that was closer to my home so I decided to go with O'Brien's Auto service Center. I went inside to ask for a quote to see how much it would be to fix my vehicle, that went well and they seemed to know how to fix my vehicle accordingly so I told them they could work on it. I left my vehicle on a Monday and they told me it would be fixed by Friday. I didn't get my vehicle until 2+ weeks later. Every time I called they would blame the place they ordered the part from saying that they delivered the wrong parts. Once they received the correct part they told me that they needed an extra part so I had to wait even longer. Do not take all the bragging of "we are one of the best, you can call here and there and they'll tell you the same" cause it's a lie. Save yourself time and go to your trusted mechanic.

These guys have always been incredibly helpful. They showed up after hours to help my fianc� change her battery. They ve replaced my suspension, windshield, two tires, replaced all fluids, and did an alignment check in one day. They also supply other local mechanic shops. At this point I will not go anywhere else because of how great the service has been. Got in an accident and they dealt with insurance and got the work done quickly. Needed stuff done outside of the accident damage, a different shop quoted me $3000 and they did it for $1200. Good staff, Francis is nice and very chatty. They even cleaned my head lights and got them clear again, they didn t have to do that. My car looks new.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I went to this shop for replacement wipers because the blades no longer moved and I m left with blades that still won t move and $400 in the hole.It started with the first visit to fix my blades. Get outside test it out they aren t working well. It s like they re going to fly off my windshield.Took it back they said we didn t realize your car operated on two motors each blade is its own motor so we need the other part. They got the another part and I thought my wipers would work, NOPE.So, I went back a third time in hopes they d do the right thing by fixing my blades earn a customer and rectify the situation since they stated they already knew this was two parts and I already paid for two NOPE. Told me to pay another $270 for a part plus labor.I m not going to keep paying for parts and labor because you don t know what you re doing. You ve been in business a long time you say so this should be something easy for you WINDSHIELD WIPERS. The basics you learn when becoming a mechanic. And if you didn t know how to do this you should ve said I don t know wipers on this AMERICAN CAR!!! (guys I drive a Ford nothing fancy about my car).I thought the owner, Fran, would address it man up do the customer service thing, but he didn t. He hid from me all day after dropping off my car. Couldn t get him on the phone. He wasn t at the shop. When I went back to pick up the car he hid behind his desk and pretended to be on his cell phone. Didn t address me to go over anything. Didn t apologize. Didn t do ANYTHING.Also as a cherry on top! While my car s wipers didn t work before, no one would know as long as they were off. NOW they don t work and make a loud slapping noise while in the off position. Never did that before the third visit.Save yourself and DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE! At most they can probably change a tire and even then I wouldn t feel comfortable giving them that much credit.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Wiper blade installation, Auto maintenance

We brought my daughters car in for a tire. He decided to run a diagnostic test on it which showed serious transmission issues. We took it back to the mechanic at the dealership. They ran a test and nothing. This was a YEAR ago and still no issues with the transmission. STAY far away. Rip off.

Scam of a business, came in for an inspection on a 2022 bmw, figured nothing would be wrong, said my wipers were dull and it would cost $160 to change them...i was like for some wipers? but pass or fail inspection, would already cost money i had no other choice.Then went in to ask how much to plug a tire... they said $20 max, depends if we need to jack the car up. Pull in with the car... the worker says its gonna be $40. i was like the guy inside said $20... yeah well its a Tesla..... i didnt know a tire plug price depended on the car brand.Overall if you want to get smacked around and jipped, just come here and get all your servicing needs!Services: Tires, General repairs & maintenance

I so mad because he say , he is the best mechanic in this place ) and he can t fix my suv MB350ML,,over that I have to pay him for nothing ,,,, Now I take my suv on tow truck to the real mechanic to dealer , so let s see what they tell me and I m going to post here to people,,let know,,,so the mechanic dealer found the problem and said the (best mechanic ) not finish what he was doing ,, end of the day my suv MB350ML run like new !! I've been using O'Brien's Auto service for 20 years. They get the job done in a timely manner and done right the first time. I have two vehicles and I only use O'Briens.

This place is a scam. I went for a check engine light. They "Fixed" it but the light came on again a week later. I went back to O'Briens and they came up with a new problem. A week after that repair, my check engine light was back on. This time I was told I had a mice nest in my car. They said they'd texted me a picture but I never received it. The light never turned off after their "work". I spent upwards of $1,000, as well as money in ubers to and from the shop, and hours and hours of my time and stress. DO NOT GO HERE. They are a scam and will take your money and make sure you come back to spend more.Service: General repairs & maintenance

We brought my older model car in for our annual inspection, but we knew we needed tires and brakes as well. We decided to get it all done at the same time and we are so glad we did. The service was fantastic and they did a great job on my car. OK shop for tire repairs, but I wouldn't let them go under the hood. They rewired my car without asking, then charged $300. Told me it was because I had mice in my car (Obrien mechanics were under the hood two weeks prior and no mention of them then). Fran told me he had a picture of them, then said he would send it to me later but never sent it. Seems like every time I go, Fran tells me I need $500 in repairs, but when I go to my home mechanic, I'm told nothings wrong with the car. This happened to a friend of mine as well. O'Brien's may have friendly staff but after multiple poor experiences with different vehicles, my family will be seeking auto service elsewhere. If you need a tire replaced, sure. But do let these guys under your hood.I went to O'Brien's to have my water pump replaced. After picking the car up and driving 30 minutes out of the city, my drive belt snapped and I had it taken to a nearby mechanic. The mechanic explained that to replace my water pump, O'Brien's had to remove my drive belt, and since it was stretched and worn they should have replaced the drive belt as a part of the job. He actually described the work done as "negligent". A few months later my partner brought his car to O'Brien's to have his power steering pump belt replaced. He gave them a brand new belt in the package and when he picked up his car, they gave him the empty packaging. Weeks later, he looked under the hood and found that the new belt had never been put on. He took the car back and O'Brien's made him buy another brand new belt before replacing the old one.I would recommend finding auto service elsewhere.

I ended up here because Don s repair referred me here as they were booked up, and I m so grateful they did. I was a little skeptical at first from other reviews saying they got ripped off , but this was not the case. The owner Francis was very informative , affordable and very honest. The estimate he gave me over the phone was the same price I paid after all was done. And the shop cat is so cute.

A friend recommended this place for an oil change and I went without an appointment and was serviced immediately (on a weekday morning). Everyone was incredibly friendly! They don t try and trick you into any extra services or anything which is soooo nice. It was super fast. I had a light on in my car regarding my tire pressure, they checked it without hesitation and fixed the problem without any charge. They went above and beyond and were super nice and approachable. Plus they have a super friendly shop cat named Isabella. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and I will definitely be back with any other auto needs I have.

Had two emergency repairs, and was taken care of right away both times. Issues with my car were clearly explained, and prices charged were reasonable. Highly recommend Francis and his team!

These guys are great! I first went there when I needed a tire put on and it was only like $10. I've been back 3-4 times for leaking tires, inspection, and then some work that was badly needed. They take the time to show you what's wrong, don't make up unnecessary work, and are extremely reasonable. They'll find a part less expensively when they can. You can walk in and have your car done the same day almost any time. Also, the cat in the lobby is super friendly and loves to get pet, and expect to hear some good stories from the owner while you check in/out.

I went to O'Brien's on a whim and I don't regret it! Fran, the owner, was friendly and helpful; working with me to get the work done that I needed without spending a fortune. I had my front bumper and lights replaced as well as my tires aligned. The work was done quickly and was reasonably priced! I felt comfortable going into the shop and discussing the work with the other employees. Communication was frequent while my car was worked on and I always felt in the know. I will be returning to O'Brien's for any other auto body work in the future!

Tire light came on for the 2nd day in a row, right before I was about to do a 5 hour drive to Pittsburgh for my cousins memorial. I went to 2 other local places before I found O Brien s. I stopped in on a Friday at 10:45am without an appointment. They diagnosed my car quickly. I needed 1 new tire now and I would need 3 more in the near future. They offered to change the 1 right away but I asked if it would be possible to get all 4 done. I had already done my homework on tire prices on tirerack.com and the quote they gave me was very good for all 4 with labor (especially considering the cost of tires has nearly doubled since the pandemic). I chose to wait an extra 90 minutes for the other tires to arrive and I was back on the road before 2pm. The owner talked to me about the benefits of the Bridgestone tires I got and the history of his business. He came across as a stand up guy and I would highly recommend O Brien s for anyone looking for a reputable place with quality experience staff that won t rip you off. Been going here for about 2 years. Went in for a wheel alignment nothing else. Was told about 2 hours. I got a call back saying I needed new tires and rear wheel studs. I told the man Frances on the phone that I only want the wheel alignment and we agreed on a price of $175. That was at 12:00. 4 and half hours later my car was finished. (Does Not Take 4 Hours For A Wheel Alignment) I come to a bill of $270 which was not the price I was giving and even after I told him I did want to do the wheel studs he still did them anyway and expected me to pay for the work that I should I did not want done. He then tried to lower the price and say that is the best he can do. Again I did not ask him to do the work. Also he was suppose to repair a bubble in my front tire which he did not do. He simple moved the front tire to the back. Worst experience I ve ever had from a mechinec shop. I do not recommend. Just other shop trying to get money out of you. DO NOT GO HERE!!

Great service! It's not the sort of shop a girl needs to be afraid of bringing her car to. The owner is there all the time, he runs everything by you before they do anything to your car.They have a little waiting area with a cat (who wasn't there this time :( ) It's clean but very busy. Credit cards welcome, the prices are fair and they have a 10% discount if you check in on yelp.This was my 3rd visit and I'll come back come inspection time!

Friendly and knowledgeable staff! Honest people as well. As a woman, it's intimidating going to a mechanic on your own as it's known that they'll try to get as much money as possible from you because of lack of knowledge. That didn't happen here. Thank you so much for your time and honesty! I will be coming here again if I run into any car troubles. P. S. Super friendly cat in the lobby to keep you company

They can be good, but you have to know your stuff. Will charge you a full hour for something that only takes 10mins. If you have radiator/cooling issues, I would recommend going to a radiator specialist. They accidentally put a tire on my car that was used and had a bolt in it. I attribute their errors to being over worked and the owner not having his heart in it anymore. Will say they will call you and they don't. I have to stay on top of them. They are as good as it gets for this part of Philly.
