I love coming here. Every employee I encountered was nice to me. I even needed a alternator with only a 24 hour notice. They were able to do it for me that day. I also come here for inspections. They seem to be really accurate if I need anything done.

I had to take my car to this service center to get an alignment performed. After they did the alignment, I noticed that my steering wheel was off-center and always turned towards the left. In addition, my car didn t feel right when I was driving it. I contacted the shop, and they told me to bring it back that they would perform another alignment on it. I did this, and now my vehicle pulls to the right and has the steering wheel off center still, but to another side. I m not sure that they know what they are doing at this shop. They kept insisting everything is fine with my car, but they are unable to properly align it.

Nicest crew. They do great work any time I bring my vehicle in. I had a piece of metal in my tire they squeezed me in at the end of the day right before they closed. It was the same day and not scheduled and they patched it no charge. Told me to have a nice day. Good people! Place you can trust.

The owner of this place is great. I stopped by with my dually truck that I couldn t get to the valve stems to put air in tires. He personally helped me for an hour until we got it figured out. He was just genuinely nice and helpful. I d highly recommend using them for any vehicle service you need!

The Altoona Monroe team was very accommodating and thorough, recommended services that I needed and Was talked to about them, not pressured like other places, I ll return to have those services completed, Thanks to Jeff and his team for actually completing the work a day in advance. Greatly appreciated.

The visit went very well, the gentleman who helped me during the visit, was very knowledgeable & friendly, he listened to what I had to say about my vehicle & then showed me the issues my vehicle had & explained what I need to have done in the near future. I appreciate the fast appointment for the alignment & the great service they provided. Thank you very much!

Thankfully they were open on Christmas Eve! I love that you can book an appointment online, even the night before. The knowledgeable staff knew exactly why my car was making the noise and promptly fixed it.

I love this monroe the crew there are great to deal with. They are under staffed so when making an apt give yourself time to wait. Also consider leaving it for the day.

If I could leave zero stars I would went in for an inspection they said it passed but hit me with the old my power steering, transmission, and brake fluid all need flushed and it would be $800 (just had the brake fluid changed 2 months prior) so knew they were trying to scam me when I said no I m good just to be nice and avoid it they subtracted the transmission change I said no then took that off off the power steering again I said no and they knew they couldn t get me got pissed and all but threw me out please go anywhere but here there is a reason they make $12 and hour

Chuck Lynxh, the assistant manager at the Altoona, Pa. location is the most honest mechanic I ve met. My family has been going to this particular Monro for 23 plus years for oil change, brakes, tires & inspection. Decent man & watches over him team as they perform their work on automobiles!

What a lovely shop! We had to stop here because we got a flat on the highway. The mechanics were polite, friendly, and gave us excellent service. I highly recommend this shop.

I usually am very grateful & happy after getting my oil changed here. However,this time I was charged more than the advertised price of $39.99 & sat outside & watched them do the oil change only in about 15 minutes,maybe less. No tire rotation,no brake inspection,no battery check! $12 for 0.3 qt of oil after the 5 qts included. If the ad says " 5 qts included" why add 0.3 more & charge me!? Seriously disappointed and want to speak to someone higher up than the cashier!

These guys are great. Bumpped a curb coming out of Pittsburgh had a bulge in the sidewall . Called these guys showed up had us back on the road in 30 minutes. Really nice regular folk we could have just as well been back home in Maine!

My wife and I have been dealing with Monroe corporate since September 2022 trying to get an issue resolved. They constantly ignore us and tell us there isn't a supervisor available after they told us they would pay to fix there mistake. My wife put a review on here with screen shots of the email thread and now miraculously it's no where to be found on Google. We are at a loss for words with the service we have received from them as a corporation. Chuck was more than respectful at the Altoona location. If the owner would like to discuss the situation i still have all the proof of our communications with corporate. I will be surprised if after all this time of fighting someone reaches out to make this right.

The service was good. Messing around with Monro coupons was not. I expected to pay 39.99 + tax and ended up spending almost $90 because of the way the coupon was worded.

Saturday night my car started making a really funky noise when idle. Shifted and drove/accelerated perfectly fine. Had a similar issue happen in a previous car before and it was spark plugs. I had work Monday, and didn t wanna miss a day otherwise I d have just waited and taken it to my actual mechanic in Roaring Spring, nor do I want to drive a car with spark plugs going bad, or assumed spark plugs going bad, so took it to Monro. Immediately with alarmed when I was informed that it was gonna cost me over $400 to get it fixed. I realize don t expect it to be free, but I ve had my spark plugs changed before for well below half that price. I know my car has coil pads, but that part isn t going to justify jacking the price of labor up so significantly. Anyhow, knowing I wasn t facing much a choice, I agreed because I wasn t wanting to miss work. The mechanic takes the car in, has it in there no less than 3 minutes, calls me over and says it s the transmission, junk it. Wound up leaving, taking the car to my actual mechanic the next day. Tell mechanic runs it, listens to my description of the problem, runs his computer over it and tells me, I don t know where Monro got their diagnosis but there s absolutely nothing wrong with your transmission. Turns out the problem was a ERG valve, which cost under $300 with labor to fix. If you didn t want to work on the car, or were too swarmed that s perfectly fine. Don t say it s something much more drastic to get out of doing it. That s unprofessional as hell.

I visited this location and had a great experience. Prior to visiting, I was having difficulty finding anyone on new years eve to replace the headlight on my Volvo because the fender liner had to be removed in order to access the headlight. My brake light was also out. I called this location, and out of all the places I had called, they were the only ones who said they'd take a look at it. I set an appointment and my car was seen not to long after. The manager Jason even offered to put on some cartoons to entertain my young daughter. I definitely recommend this company for your car service needs. My headlight turned out to be loose, so they didn't charge me to tighten it back on. They staff was very professional and kind.

A coworker recommended me Monro and I decided to stop in for a brake light change. After arrival, I told them my issue and a gentleman immediately got to work with my car parked outside the garage. He had me out of there in less than 10 min. The best customer service! They actually made sure my issue was resolved too. Firestone would have never of done this... So I thought they deserved a solid review! Very kind people and well managed.

My mother went to this location to have her fluids topped off. The technician here, Jason, took off one of her tires and said she needed new ball joints for $1800. She did not ask for any of this. She told him to put the tire back on and she decided to leave obviously not wanting to be taken advantage of. On her way back the car decided to stall. There were no issues prior to this. My mother is 70 years old I can t believe this despicable treatment of the elderly at this location. We will never be using these services again.

Great service. Answered all questions ahead of time, got my 2 new Cooper tires overnight by 11:30am as scheduled. Rolled right in and took care of everything we discussed. Everyone was as friendly as could be. I waited instead of going shopping elsewhere while they worked on it. I didn't even have time to finish a crossword puzzle. Highly recommended

Chuck and the team at Monroe Altoona have always provided great service! They are honest, reliable, and never pressure me into expensive repairs when not needed. I have been a loyal customer for years and I plan to continue using Monroe Altoona for all of my auto service needs.

Have been a customer for a number of years for vehicle maintenance and tire purchases. Had the first oil change in my new 2020 Nissan Rogue today and was shocked at the cost of this service. I'm disappointed in Monro this time around. *UPDATED REVIEW - I now understand much more about the type of oil necessary for my Rogue. I recant my previous dissatisfaction on cost of oil change service, I checked with a few places and Monro is in line with what I found out. Just this week I had a tire get damaged while we were driving home. I got the Rogue to Monro Altoona, Pa twenty minutes before closing. Long story short; Jason, Chuck and staff were excellent to deal with and helped me in the moment of emergency. Jason and I discussed options for my vehicle. I decided to replace all four tires after much insight from Jason. He ordered the tires I decided on and by noon the next day I had new tires on the Rogue.

I had service done previously at Monro, Altoona with fine results so when I needed service again on my car, I called and spoke with Tim and made an appointment for the following day.I arrived as scheduled the following morning and requested a diagnosis and repair of an exhaust leak.The mechanic gave me the diagnosis of a rusted exhaust system behind the catalytic converter so I gave the go-ahead for the replacement of the exhaust system.Bottom line is that my car was ready to go within 90 minutes of my initial arrival and I noted that the mechanic also corrected an issue of the old exhaust system being mounted too low by a previous installer and he remounted the new system at the correct height to avoid damage from road debris.All in all, another pleasant experience and thanks to Tim and also to the mechanic for the courteous and efficient service and for restoring proper operation to my car's exhaust system

Jason was very helpful today. I thought I only needed to replace my brake pads, but he showed me that my rotors needed replaced and let me see the difference between my front and rear rotors. He was patient and also gave me several different options for solutions.

way overpriced I paid 280 plus for 40 minutes of work minus a 40 dollar part so 240 for 40 minutes. Double what it should be. Won't be back. What I was told is they charge a flat rate and the book time is a hour and 30 minutes. He told me he didn't have to do the whole job which involves dropping the exaust so not only did they charge me full price for doing half the job but they left an exaust leak by not doing the whole job. Do not go here. They called me and didn't offer to fix it or anything. Pure laziness. Bad business
