We were driving from Idaho to Redmond Oregon and our check engine light came on. We called the Kia Service Center in Bend to see if they could take a look at it. The technician was very rude, kept interrupting my husband, even though we had only spoke to him about a minute, and he said "we can't get you in for a week, do you want to make an appointment or not!" We called RACE and the young man said bring it in in the morning (it was fairly late in the day). I took the car in, he hooked it up to the diagnostics, fixed the problem, didn't charge me a dime, and I was on my way in less than 15 minutes! I wish I could give this business 10 stars!!!!! Incredible service!

There is still good people in this world and this place proved it to me!! They balanced my challenging personal schedule and communicated concisely every detail along the way. Diagnosis was quick and they worked me into their busy schedule for a timely and fair priced repair. Won t go anywhere else for my future needs and cannot recommend enough!!!

Dropped by to see if was open to get estimate for a few things, most important, HEAT. He helped me get heat WORKING right then and there! AND HE WOULD NOT TAKE MY MONEY FOR IT! My new mechanic!! SO knowledgeable! I've needed a good mechanic for most of my life.

Great people! I have been lucky so far and my idiot lights have been just that! They promptly fit in my Xterra and Ram for diagnostics when the lights came on. They were professional and kind. When the time comes I will be using them.

Needed help with my Tahoe and they were on it like flies on stink. I am not car smart and thought something completely opposite was wrong and they helped me tighten some bolts and save some money on unnecessary repairs. Extremely friendly and knew exactly what he was doing.

Had some overheating issues while in the area from WA. Got the car in first thing in the morning, was looked at in an hour and resolved my issue with a quick burping of the system! They even gave me a ride to a nearby coffee shop to wait. Fast service, good communication, and very generous price quotes. Would come here again if I didn t live so far away.

While traveling through the Redmond area, the coolant light came on my Sprinter and there was an obvious leak. I called around and couldn't find a Sprinter specialist able to look at the van. After seeing all the good reviews here, I decided to stop by the shop to see if they could help. Two technicians welcomed me and immediately looked under the hood and climbed under the van. They were easily able to diagnose the problem and do a quick fix to get me on my way. These guys were so kind and generous in addition to obviously being very highly skilled! Thank you, RACE!!

I recently needed some work done on my van and had a great experience with the team at RACE. Jennifer had very good communication and customer service. The shop mechanics seem extremely knowledgeable and were able to work within my schedule to get the service done and my vehicle back on the road. I would definitely recommend these folks to anyone, and I will be back in the future if I need a mechanic in the area!Service: Brakes

After trying many mechanics on 97, these guys were the only ones to put aside whatever they were working on and give immediate attention to my van. Not only that, they identified the source of a coolant leak and fixed it on the spot, no charge. Handshakes and goodbyes within minutes. These guys are hired if I ever need a pit stop crew!

I came in with some odd sounds coming from my truck i couldn t figure it out but alli and his crew sure did!! I appreciate the hard and honest work. And for making it work for me as I needed the help more than anything at the time life is crazy and R.A.C.E had my back!! I would highly recommend this shop to anyone. very family friendly. Honest. And trustworthy. Couldn t be happier with my truck!

Allister is definitely the guy to go to if you want the job done right! He s fast and efficient and super kind. Unlike other places he s not going to scam you of your time or tell you something else is wrong, unless it actually is! He s also patient and will take the time to explain to you what s wrong and how it all works if you ask! Will be coming back (hopefully not soon) for any other car troubles.Service: Electrical repair

I had returned from deployment with the Navy and the check engine light was on, on my Jeep Wrangler (not surprised) . I took it to Redmond Automotive Care Experts after they were recommended by the parts store. I had strict time guidelines that the work needed to be completed by and they exceeded my expectations! I'm so appreciative and grateful for there fast and accurate work. The mechanic Ally worked over the weekend so I could get my vehicle back on time. The receptionist, Jennifer was professional, up-front and made me feel 100% confident in there work. Thank you!!

Looking for an honest, trustworthy, knowlegable mechanic? I've been using RACE Auto for over 20 years. He does the job right the first time. *** Update 12-18-2023... The original owner and mechanics of Race Auto are Top-Notch. The business has been sold and / or is under new management since I originally wrote this review. The original mechanics are no longer there either. I stopped in to get a quote from the new manager about 6 months ago, and unfortunately, they never got back to me. I haven't heard anything positive or negative about Race Auto since the changes. If anyone has any feedback, let's have it. I'm still looking for an honest mechanic with decent pricing to replace the old Race Auto... Maybe these guys are legit. Time will tell.

AMAZING service! Helped us out in a pinch on a Sunday when everyone was closed and we were 2 hours from home. We had to get an oil pressure valve replaced and he went out of his way to help us out. He tried his best to find a solution that didn t result in a new part but that wasn t meant to be. Overall, great service! His puppy helped our nerves too.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Like others have stated, RACE customer service and their willingness to do whatever it takes even work weekends and holidays sets them apart from the rest. 2017 Land Rover Discovery failed alternator this past 4th of July holiday weekend. 500 miles from my home garage so I went to the interwebs to read reviews on local shops. Called Allister on a Saturday and he assured me he s versed in the nuances of Land Rover. Towed the vehicle in on Monday and Jennifer in the front office was super kind and even drove me to the airport to rent a car. Communication was spot on during the whole process and I m now back on the road! Whether you re local to the area and looking for a regular shop or you re passing through and have an emergency do not hesitate to call RACE. Highly recommended.

The new mechanic and owner, Alli, is extremely knowledgeable. When our Prius had a burning smell while going uphill, we took it to a different garage first. After receiving their quote, we took the car to Alli. He looked for a possible cause to the problem that the other garage never assessed, found the problem and fixed it for a fraction of price the original garage quoted us. Hands down the best shop in town. Allistar has worked on all of our vehicles from my race car to my wife s daily driver and we ve had a great experience every time. New owners as well as Technician. Great environment, welcoming office, and clean work area eased alot of concerns you may endure when searching for an automotive repair facility.
