First off, based on Justin s responses to other reviews on here I m sure he ll deny we were even customers. Let me assure you, we were customers of Foreman Auto on Hwy 97 in Redmond, Oregon. Justin supposedly put a rebuilt transmission in my son s Ford Ranger. We re skeptical he actually did the work as it later had the same problem, but the bigger issue was that he also installed wheels and wheel spacers. They were installed improperly as the original studs protruded beyond the spacers and he did not cut them off. The wheel was resting on the ends of the bolts, not the spacer, like they should have been. Anyone who knows wheel spacers knows what happened next. My son and girlfriend were driving highway speeds on a mountain highway. The wheel started vibrating and within seconds the front left wheel came off and rolled into oncoming traffic. Fortunately no one was coming toward them at the time. Also fortunately my son was able to slow down to about 30-40 mph before the wheel came off and was able to maintain control of the vehicle. They were both scared but not injured. They, however, were stuck in the road missing a wheel out of cell service. The kindness of strangers got them off the road and to a telephone. Fast forward, Justin denied responsibility and blamed my son, saying he had taken the wheels off. We have video of how they were installed wrong and you can google it and see that when spacers are installed like this the wheels fall off. We sued Justin in small claims court. We won. He owes us over $7,000 and the amount is increasing daily as he has yet to pay us a penny. We have used all legal means to collect including an attempted debtors examination, filing to have held in contempt (which he was), and hiring a Private Detective. He keeps all his assets in other people s names because, we found out, he owes a lot of people money and dodges his responsibilities. We will be turning this over to a collection agency. Anyway, we will never again do business with Foreman Auto and highly recommend everyone consider our story before making the decision to do business with this company as well.

Avoid Foreman's Auto at all costs! They tried to scam me out of nearly $1500 for a supposed wheel bearing issue that didn't even exist. The mechanic quickly diagnosed both wheel bearings as destroyed and insisted on immediate repairs. When I couldn't afford it, he demanded $125 for the "diagnosis," which was a simple two minute process of jacking up a tire and shaking it. Another 2 mechanics later confirmed there was nothing wrong with my wheel bearings. Foreman's Auto is a rip-off joint preying on unsuspecting customers. Steer clear! The full story: Justin may claim I was never a customer but I can assure you that I was. I was driving my 2012 Tacoma through Oregon to Idaho and I started hearing a quiet but still slightly unsettling noise coming from the driver front of the car just as I passed into OR. I was a little worried and concerned about the safety of my vehicle, so I reached out to Foreman's Auto, the only place that was open on a Sunday, located in Redmond OR, hoping for a quick diagnosis to assess whether it was safe to continue my journey. The person who answered (Justin) told me that he could take a quick look at it to see what the problem might be. Upon arrival, Justin raised the front end of my vehicle with floor jacks, wiggled my wheels with his hands, and without hesitation declared that both wheel bearings were completely shot. Demonstrating what he deemed as excessive "play" in the wheel with a crowbar, he insisted on an immediate repair, presenting me with a daunting invoice totaling nearly $1500. The first flag was he told me I needed to replace my brake rotors without looking at them; I had just replaced them less than a month before. I told him that, and when he still insisted I needed new ones I told him I couldn't afford to fix that right now, so instead he pushed financing options. When I told him I d rather risk continuing the drive he told me I wouldn't make it, telling me I would probably break down before I made it very far. He was being rather coercive saying he didn't feel comfortable with me trying to drive it. I decided I would take the risk anyway and continue my drive. He told me since I was leaving without paying for him to fix my problem which I now know was completely misdiagnosed, I now owed him $125 for the diagnosis. I begrudgingly paid him the $125. I felt ripped off.I drove the 500+ miles back to Idaho without incident. The noise disappeared moments after I left the shop. Once in Idaho, I took it to a shop where they performed a free (imagine that) diagnosis of the noise/wheel bearing issue. They told me that there was absolutely nothing wrong with A: my wheel bearings, and B: the noise was probably just from a small rock or something that was now gone and that there was nothing I should be concerned about. I had another mechanic look at it afterwards just to double verify that nothing was wrong and the report was the same: there was absolutely nothing wrong with either wheel. These guys are scam artists, plain and simple. Save yourself the headache and find a reputable mechanic elsewhere. They tried to scam a college kid out of $1500 for repairs I didn't even need. Spare yourself the trouble and avoid this place like the plague. There are plenty of honest mechanics out there who won't rip you off.

While crossing Redmond in "LIMP-MODE" at 5 miles an hour on a Saturday afternoon, Foreman's Auto mechanic and owner pulls along side and offers to help. He follows me back to his shop to perform a proper diagnostic when the Auto Part store analyzer failed to identify the problem. Parts were ordered on-line, which were not available at the stores, that early evening to help this "out-of-towner" regain his transportability. Very Grateful! Should rename to "Foreman's Forthright Automotive". They Care.

Absolutely stellar service. My car broke down on the side of the highway on a Sunday afternoon on my way back to Portland. I didn't think that I would be able to find an auto shop open but found this one thankfully only 6 miles from me. Not only did he fix what was wrong with it quickly once it was in his shop, but he personally drove to where I was on the highway to diagnose what was wrong with it before I called for a tow. I was in and out in no time. Would 100% recommend for anyone looking for great service. Thank you!

Not super thrilled with the customer service portion. I did have work done, and a majority of this work was done well. The suspension (in pic) looks and feels great. You will notice some flaws in the install. Unfortunately i had to end up taking this back to another shop for additional repairs. I did seek out a list of work performed (receipt ) so I could share this with the other shop. I had moved towns between repairs. Had no option to bring back here. Justin ignored my request for receipt/list of work performed, after I asked 5 different times over a couple months. I have reached out via email, phone, even text only to be ignored. If you choose this shop to get work done, be sure to get a written quote. They will not work with you as you would expect from a local shop.

The most disgusting costumer service I have ever dealt with , Justin the owner tried to fight me over asking when my jeep would be done. Ended up taking my jeep to C&M auto and they got my jeep back the next day with a quote half the price as justin at foremans auto who was a complete jerk!!! Avoid this guy at all costs

Patronized this business eons ago, and it was horrible. The owner when I tried to dispute issues called me a "scam customer" which seems to be routine for anyone he treats poorly.Be careful, you're gonna either be the minority of happy customers, or be called a "scam customer" by this obviously horrible owner.

We had problems with my car today. We couldn t find a shop that was open in that town so we asked and got his number. so glad we called we told him we were passing by and needed to be back on the road he was willing to wait for us to get their and fix our suv. Trying not to keep this review too long I would definitely recommend this shop they went above and beyond to try to help and get us back on the road if it wasnt for this shop we would of been stuck their until Tuesday when everything is back open

Justin was helpful from the first phone call. He was able to get my vehicle in the next day and upon drop of and discussion of the vehicle issue, he looked at it on the spot and was able to send us off with a repaired rig in under an hour. Very personable and honest and helpful. He even looked at our other vehicles AC unit to diagnose the issues while we were there. Appreciate the honest help.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic

Justin took great care of my situation when I was in a tight spot.Drove from mesa AZ on thanksgiving day to pick up a relatives 5th wheel and haul it back & was on a time deadline. Woke up morning after driving 17 hrs preparing to go get trailer and head home to see coolant puddle under truck. Googled diesel mechanics near me found Foreman's Auto with great ratings so called him lucky for me he was open day after thanksgiving. Drove there Justin looked it over did a pressure test concluded that main radiator was compromised plus upper main hose. He quoted a price on the spot I went ahead with it expecting it to be finished by end of day. He called me late in day said new radiator was defective and leaking so he had found another and needed the next day all day to finish repairs. I told him ok but that I was worried and the delay was a problem for me because of kids/school/work etc.getting back home by sunday night was a big deal on my end but I understood it was beyond his control and would wait to hear from him end of next day. He called me later that evening to tell me he had stayed and finished the install and I could pick it up next morning. This was awesome news for me and can't overstate the appreciation I had for him staying late to finish truck and help me out. We were able to successfully get home with the trailer by 1pm sunday thanks to Justin.Justin was straightforward fair and went the extra mile to help me out. I rarely take the time to leave reviews but this one deserves it.Plus he's a fellow Volkswagen rabbit truck lover and Left handed so that practically makes him part of my family. Good luck on the project rabbit truck, next time I'm in town going to stop by see if its done. Thanks again Justin.

My husband and I had our van break down just outside of Redmond on a Saturday afternoon on our way home to the Portland area. We called Foreman's auto to see if they were open and available to help us. We spoke with Justin the owner who was kind and more than willing to help us. We had our van towed to his shop and he was quick to diagnose the issue. While he was working on our van he recommended a great restaurant to eat at in town and had us back on the road in record time! Justin took an extremely stressful situation for us and made it a pleasant experience. He was professional, knowledgeable and treated us like friends. We highly recommend anyone in the area to use him as your go-to for auto!Service: General repairs & maintenance

My family and I were staying in the Redmond area for a week, and towards the end of our trip the brakes on my Yukon started to make a grinding noise. I found Foreman Auto via a quick google maps search, and called. They got me in immediately and inspected my car within an hour of my call. I was told I essentially needed to redo my entire brake system. Major bummer to hear on vacation, and I did spend a few hours wondering if I was getting a stranded travelers markup. After going through the process with Justin and his shop, there is no doubt that Justin was fair, professional, and honest in getting my car fixed and retuned to me as quickly as possible. He went above the call of duty to make my family feel comfortable and safe.If you live in the area, or are a fellow stranded traveler I highly recommend Foreman Auto. They will shoot you straight, treat you with respect, and get you back on the road. No drama, and complete accountability.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Didn t get any work done per say, but called Jesse (?) ten minutes before close and said I couldn t figure out why my headlight was dead. He said to come on over and spent 20 minutes or so figuring out the problem and tell me the solution.Unfortunately I also couldn t find my wallet, but he was really kind about it and was obviously glad to help. Seems like a good guy and trustworthy business to me!

Justin was amazing! I drove in on a Sunday without an appointment with my 'battery not charging' light on. I thought it was my alternator, but he quickly diagnosed that it was an issue with my serpentine belt tensioner. He took the time to explain and show me what he was talking about and he was able to fix the issue within an hour for a very reasonable price!Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair, Battery

The owner Justin has a heart for people and you can tell he loves what he does. As a family owned business, you feel welcome and treated as a guest. That was my wife and I s experience. They went above and beyond what we expected as first time customers. 100% recommend this place and I ll go as far to say they are the best auto shop in Central Oregon.Service: Battery

Legitimately have never had a better experience getting my car fixed. I went in because my car was having trouble starting (Valvoline took a look at my battery and said it was fine). First of all, their dog is SO NICE. 10/10 customer service from the sweet pup. Second, they went out of their way to call the battery company and send me home with a FREE battery. What s more, they didn t charge me for switching it out/taking a look or anything. Seriously kind people and speedy service. I couldn t get an appointment anywhere else in Redmond within a week or two but I was able to walk in the same day here and now my car is fixed! I am indebted.Service: Battery

I took my hybrid Tahoe in because it wasn t running correctly. Paid $2500 and all they did was throw parts at it and never solved the problem. 6 months later had it Towed to Chevrolet Dealership and it was a $97 sensor which cost me another 1300 to have replaced! Problem solved. But wasted 6 months of my time and $2500 dealing with this guy!

Called these guys for the first time to get a fuel pump and alternator replaced. They came and picked it up and I was driving it again in under 48 hours. Haven t gone anywhere else since. They ve come through for me this year in hooking me up with a crv. Put a new engine in it and have gone above and beyond in making sure it has everything it needs. Super grateful for these guys. Won t go anywhere else.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Engine repair

Foreman s auto is upfront honest and has outstanding communication. They fixed my Nissan Pathfinder. It was not an easy job ( new engine, main oil seal, and idle airflow) but no matter the problem foreman auto was upfront honest and got the work done. Definitely a Mechanic to be trusted.

Avoid this place at all cost, because it will cost you plenty to get very simple work done. Nearly $500 for a new battery replacement. Yep, you read that right. Absolutely ridiculous... $237 for the battery (not egregious, so palatable), then $37 in shop supplies (who knows what those are), but $220 in labor? For at most a 30 minute job to diagnose and replace? Absolutely obscene and predatory.Service: Battery

Justin provided information about the repairs listed on the diagnostic machine, explained and gave a quote for the repairs required. The total cost of the repair done, was what he quoted. I had a fuel filter and another piece attached to it that was replaced. I would recommend this auto repair shop. Justin didn t take advantage or exaggerate repairs needed for my car. He and his staff were courteous and accommodating while I waited for my vehicle to be done. If and when I need repairs to any of my vehicles, I will be calling on Foreman s Auto to help me out.Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Battery

Had a chaotic morning. Woke up to my car alarm going off. It would stop even after turning ignition. Was driving around Bend panicking that my car was creating such chaos. Luckily I called Foreman and Justin picked up the phone. He was able to get to the shop within the hour (called at 6:30am on Sat). He was able to resolve the issue within the hour and also pointed out a few things my service shop missed in Portland. I may just service my car with Foreman even though I live in Portland. THANK YOU JUSTIN!Services: Electrical repair, Electrical, Battery

I don't usually take the time to write online reviews, but I had an exceptional experience at Foreman's Auto that warranted some recognition. Justin, the owner, took my car in immediately and had everything done in an hour. He explained everything being done and was exceptionally transparent. At no point did he try to sell me anything that I didn't need and he was refreshingly forthcoming. If you are looking for an honest, knowledgeable and trustworthy mechanic, look no further.Service: General repairs & maintenance
