I highly recommend this business .My car broke me down on our way home from a surgery and I was so distraught . K and H stayed open to receive my car from the tow truck and reassured me that they would look at my car first thing the next morning. Everyone was so kind and reassuring . I felt at ease immediately This is the first time I felt in safe hands with a mechanic./ shop . They had my car fixed by noon and it s running fantastic! I am so deeply grateful. This is a friendly , kind and compassionate business ! Great prices and fantastic work ! Everyone is amazing here! Than you!!

I called on a Sunday after going to O'Reillys and having the service rep tell me it was going to be more extensive than just changing the light bulbs. They tell me to bring it by and they look and of course tell me that I got the wrong light bulbs! Run to AutoZone and bring the correct bulbs back. This man goes out of his way to change the headlights for me!!! And then of course, when I ask about the glovebox light, he tells me he can do it. Having to take it apart and exchange the lights. They were all so nice and helpful. Quick and easy! I'd definitely say call ahead because there is 0 parking. Will be coming back for service next time!**They also told me that they DO work with warranties on vehicles.

About three months ago, my car started making a weird rumbling noise. Naturally, I put off taking my car (Minty, a beloved 2002 outback who's definitely only a few years away from being considered vintage [also probably a few years away from being in a scrapyard]) into a mechanic because I really hoped it would just go away on it's own (it did not). On Sunday, I randomly got the urge to take Minty to a mechanic, so I began frantically googling places in Portland. K&H was recommended, and they were open, so I called. I had an appointment within the hour.The folks at K&H are all lovely people. I appreciate anyone who can make me laugh while I'm having a mild anxiety attack about my car potentially having a serious mechanical problem, so thank you guys for that. I dropped Minty off and got a call about an hour later that they had found the source of my problem; my prop shaft needed replaced. I drive an old car that needed a somewhat uncommon part, but K&H got the job done in about three days. So far she's driving great! I'm very impressed with the speed and quality of their work. Hopefully I don't need a mechanic for a long time, but when I do I'm definitely returning. Thank you all :)

My car started making a subtle but suspicious sound last week. I scheduled an oil change and asked if they could try to identify the source of the sound. They had managed to fit me in even though I couldn t make it until after work, which was close to their closing time. When I brought my car in, they showed me the suspected problem areas. It was very refreshing to have the possible work explained to me both clearly and understandably. I appreciate that they were so thorough in inspecting my car and spent so much time with me as a customer, especially since I was feeling so anxious and worried.It was a much better experience than I ve had other places! It s also a family business, which feels really nice in a world of big businesses.

Just honest, helpful people at family-owned business. I brought my car in and immediately a mechanic came out and ran a series of tests on the car related to the issue I was having. They showed me what they were doing every step of the way, which was great. At the end it turned out that a repair was not actually needed (It turned out the issue was user-error, not car-error). They did not bill me for the tests they ran or their time, and told me they wouldn't want to encourage me to replace something that didn't need replacing. They were so kind, personable, and helpful, it was a really pleasant experience. I felt like they went the extra mile to make sure I understood what was going on and to make absolutely sure of the diagnosis. I'll definitely be using them again in the future.

I had work done on my car here about a week ago. These guys finished the work same day. They fixed the problem. They were kind and honest even their pricing wasn t too bad. These are all traits that are really hard to find with mechanics but this is truly the best auto shop I have been to. Thank you k and h!!

When my car started shuddering on the highway on a Saturday night, I wasn t too hopeful we would find a shop that could fit us in last minute on a Sunday when many shops are closed. We needed to drive back home to Eugene for work on Monday, so luckily we found K&H! Even though they said they were very busy, they offered to take a look right away, and ended up working tirelessly all day to track down the parts I needed and fix my car. They went out of their way to thoughtfully diagnose the issue, get parts, and test my vehicle for safety afterwards even though they had to work well past closing. They even gave us a complimentary service that they didn t need to do to make extra sure everything was good to go. We were able to drive home that evening! They said they re a family owned business, so they like to treat people like family. Very reasonable pricing as well. Ali was kind, professional, and genuine. If we ever need help when we re in Portland again, we ll definitely go back to K&H!

This shop is amazing! I needed my O2 sensors replaced in my truck for a long road trip. The shop fit me in on a Sunday and did the repair. Everyone was very professional.I am needing another sensor replaced now months later. Working with this shop again has been great . This shop is fast to respond and communicate with and has been pleasure to work with.

K&H fixed my brakes that had an unusual noise with no obvious problems. They cleaned them up, removed some rust and fixed the issue. No unneeded part replacements. Great service

Incredibly grateful for the thoroughness of K&H Auto Shop! My sensor alarmed me of low coolant in the reservoir. Their investigation into this found that the return hose had become brittle causing increased wear and tear; allowing a leak to fester. Enough to cause a leak in two places. My coolant reservoir also needed to be replaced. K&H efficiently diagnosed the issue with a well-explained rationale, helped locate parts, and repaired my BMW in a surprisingly timely manner. Forever thankful, will be returning!

I was helping a friend out after their car broke down in Portland. Luckily we found K&H Auto Shop and they took her car in right away and had it running again the very next day.When I pulled up my car to the shop to pick up her car, they heard the winning of the power steering fluid that I was having problems with and took a look at it for me. They changed my power steering fluid, gave me some advice, and aired up my tires free of charge. They were very skilled and knowledgeable, as well as kind and honest. They also took the time to explain to both of us what went wrong and how they fixed it, and answer any questions we had. Highly recommend this shop to anyone looking for a good mechanic.

This review is an honest assessment of the work that K&H did after I took my car to them.PRO'S: My car got into a pretty bad accident that required A LOT of bodywork. K&H were able to take on the repair quickly and gave me a lower quote than any other shop (about a 1k difference!). They were easy to work with, and gave me regular updates on my car. They even replaced a cosmetic part unrelated to the accident for free, which I super appreciated.CON'S: Two days after I picked up the car, a popping noise started to go off when my car turned/went over bumps on the side of the car that had been hit. I took my car into a different shop for an unrelated issues (needed new brakes) and was told that there was an issue with how a ball bearing had been installed.Additionally, there was a sensor that they weren't able to fix that still needed to be fixed. While they did refer me to a shop that may be able to fix it, they failed to mention that this sensor needs to be calibrated to factory settings by certified Subaru repair, which they didn't have the tools to do.Due to the additional time I need to take out of my day to get these issues fixed, I'm giving them this review. I truly appreciate the work they did, and the service I received. I'm confident that (most) of the work done was done well, however these are two big issues that they should have been able to fix, or been upfront that they couldn't do them.I'd still recommend them for some cases, but for the amount of bodywork/care needed after my accident I wouldn't recommend them for anything that requires super complex work.

They replaced my catalytic converter same day I called in on a Sunday. They were very reasonable on the price. They even replaced the O2 sensors as a bonus. They are very knowledgeable and have great customer service. I will 100% go back for future repairs.

I m new to the neighborhood and my car needed some work. I received a quote from the dealership that was way out of my budget, so I called up K&H and they took great care of me. Will definitely be coming back anytime my car needs a tune up, great guys!!

Working with K & H Auto was very easy and truly a joy, considering my car was unfortunately totaled in an accident. They were super responsive and communicative and made the process easier on me with my insurance. I will definitely be taking future cars here and recommending to friends!

Amazing great service. I drive an older car. On a Thursday one of my headlights went out. It is a luxury car so not user serviceable. Then two days later the other headlight went out. I have to go to work in the dark. K&H fit me in on a Sunday and had me fixed in under an hour. Super service.

I am very happy with this shop! I had an emergency, leaking coolant, and they fixed me up the same day. Ali even drove to buy the parts I needed, because they couldn't be delivered that day. The job was done right, the price was fair, and they were very friendly!

Highly recommend K&H auto! I don't know much about cars but took my car to two different shops who tried to upcharge me and said I needed to replace x, y, z in my car. The folks at K&H were honest about what really needed to be done and did a good job diagnosing the problem. K&H has become my shop of choice and one that I recommend to family and friends.

I had the most wonderful experience at this shop. The communication was so clear and constant, as someone who doesn't know much about cars they took the time to explain what was going on and show me as well. They were so quick with their work, I took it on a busy Saturday and was able to have it Monday afternoon. Everyone I met was so kind, respectful and personable. Not once did I feel the price was unfair or too much, they actually ended up not charging me for some last minute work. I can't recommend them enough.

I scheduled a diagnostic online, when I arrived I was helped immediately. I already had a pretty good understanding of what was going on with my car, the mechanic was super patient with me and understanding of my situation. He made me feel better about it too, we both troubleshooted the issue and he offered his honest advice to me. I really wish that all mechanics were as patient and as honest as these guys are. Edit (10/5/23) my car was leaking coolant and of course I brought it to K&H after the great experience w my brakes. They got me scheduled quickly, did great work, didn t overcharge me, and got me to work the next day.My brakes started grinding on Saturday night and luckily for me K&H was open on Sundays. They did a great job on my car, didn't sell me parts I didn't need and the final price came in well under their quote. Highly recommended and I will certainly be a return customer.Services: Brakes, Oil change

Very honest and thorough service. I came in with my 2014 BMW x3 that had an engine drivetrain error thrown that morning. After what was thought to be a quick fix, I retrieved my car and left the next day to drive home to WA. Unfortunately, the error came back up, so I turned around and the shop made accommodations to see me immediately. Ali and team spent multiple days troubleshooting a sensor issue, while in the end it required a Bmw part which Ali got over night to accommodate my tight window in Portland. The unique sensor issue required a lot of frustrating time wasted, but Ali only charged me for the replacement parts because he s just an amazing guy. Thank you for the help again!

Had a car with a completely dead battery stuck in a small parking garage. I gave them a call but didn't leave a voice-mail as it was a Sunday and I needed to find another place quick, but wasnt finding anything. They called me back and helped me find a towing service with a small enough truck to retrieve my car. They replaced my battery and even gave me a discount because I'm a student. Everyone was super nice and helpful and I can't believe how much I lucked out. Thank you.

I brought my 96 jeep Cherokee in with an overheating issue right before close on a Sunday, and the mechanics got me back on the road the very next day! Very skilled and knowledgeable, as well as kind and honest. They also took the time to explain to me what went wrong and how they fixed it, and answer any questions I had. Highly recommend this shop to anyone looking for a good mechanic.

This family business is amazing. Kind, prompt, and have done a great job on my car each time I ve brought it in. And so reasonably priced, I almost feel they re undercharging me. Cannot recommend more highly!
