My husband and I visited here, telling them we wanted a new John Deere mower. We were upgrading from our 22 year old JD mower. Scott first greeted us then promptly left, we had the pleasure of then meeting Robin. We were cash buyers no financing, at the beginning of spring when our grass is growing like crazy( we live on 100 acres) we asked for a mulcher to be installed. We were blown off by them they obviously did not want or need our business. So we went elsewhere and purchased.

Popcorn is good. Free water! If you spend (or your boss) 100,000$, you can ask for a free hat! That's not official. But, if a lot of people go in there asking about the free hat, 100,000$ thing that they saw on a review, man, that would make me .

Today, we were visited by a John Deere Rep. by the name of Greg W. from the McMinnville store. Poor guy, he ended up spending the greater part of the afternoon here, answering my questions, and helping me understand the John Deere Tractor that my husband bought last fall! No easy task, as, I am a very old dog trying to learn new tricks! He kept answering my questions as long as I kept asking them! What an asset to Pape' Machinery out of McMinnville! Thank you Greg, for spending the afternoon with us, we learned so much! Now, the hard part.....remembering all that you told us!

I broke the Draft Link on my 3203 Utility Tractor on Sunday. Removed the broken pieces and called Pape in Mcminnville OR after noon on Monday. They had the part in stock, so I ran into town and picked it up. Reinstalled the new part so I was up and running before dark and finished grading my driveway. Really nice to have a local dealer that has such a great inventory and employees that are cheerfully interested in helping customers. Both the Parts Persons were very pleasant and truly interested in my problem. The person that I spoke to on the phone was very helpful and looked up the part quickly. It was ready to go when I arrived.Thanks for the Great service.Richard Shelton

Though sometimes a bit higher in price, they consistently have the finest parts for the job you need or are working on. No guess work about it necessary. In addition, if another Pape' store has the part you need, chances are they can shuttle your parts to your local store by the very next business day. (or close to it) They are reliable in quality and service. That distinguished quality is getting hard to find anywhere these days.

It's fantastic, the people there are really friendly, I didn't feel pressured at all into buying something. They have very many easy to use John Deere Tractor and they have their own restoration department. It's not a job, it's a family, and I am very pleased with the service. Pat and Mike were very helpful, they answered every question I had, and we're able to assist me in finding what I needed.

We had a couple pretty good experiences with sales staff (bought a chainsaw with gear, and a weed whacker with gear, and talked about a tractor purchase in the future). So when we bought a used chipper/shredder this past spring from a private individual we thought it prudent to have it looked over. It was working fine, but we assumed it had never been serviced and that being serviced would help it run optimally. Pape said they had the expertise to work on it, so we took it to them. They had it a few weeks and said it was ready, but when we took it home it performed LESS well than before we took it in. They agreed to take it back and keep working on it. LONG story short, after talking to the manufacturer and looking at it some more, the only thing they could figure out to do was replace the cutting blade. So even though I had already spent several hundred dollars on getting it tuned up, I agreed to one more expense. They ordered the blade and everything came to a screeching halt. When weeks and months went by and I didn't hear anything I called in a couple times and talked to the most recent technician for an update and they never seemed to know anything except that the new blade had not come in. So I started going in to see the service manager. Each time I went in, he didn''t know anything about it but said he'd look into it and give me a call. No call. Ever. This happened three times, a few weeks apart. The fourth time I went in to see the service manager, he was out of the shop floor, so I left my same message with the person who was in the service office and he said he'd give it to the manager. Again, no call.... nothing! So a couple weeks later, I went in and just told them to bring the chipper back to me, which they did a week later.I don't know why my experience with the service department there was so different than the other reviewers, but I was extremely disappointed. I don't hold them accountable for some other company not sending them a part that was ordered. But I do hold them accountable for doing everything they could to try to get the part and, most importantly, for doing what they say they will do and communicating with me. Since I can't rely on the service department to deal with me responsibly, I will not be making any purchases from them in the future.Addendum: I called the phone number that I was requested to call (see response to my review) and spoke to a very nice woman there (corporate headquarters in Eugene) who said she'd have the regional general manager who is responsible for the Mcminnville location give my a call. Two weeks later when he didn't call, I called back and spoke to the same woman who then told me that a different manager would call me. He didn't call either but I did get a call from the original Mcminnville service manager. He left me a message and I returned his call a couple days later and left him a message. And now, two weeks later that's all that's happened... no more calls, no more efforts to contact me. Clearly the service manager had been told to call me and he was doing the least he could to comply.So, all in all, Pape may have some locations that don't operate with this level of poor customer service but McMinnville certainly does. And apparently there are upper level managers who are content to provide the same poor customer service as the service manager in McMinnville. If I owned this business I'd be getting rid of some managers and replacing them with people who understood what good customer service is and were interested in providing it. The only highlight in all this was the woman at the corporate office who was working hard to try to get someone to be responsive. Maybe someone should get fired and she could be put in their place!

When I got serious about a Tractor I contacted several dealers. Hands down the most responsive was Pape . Closed on Sunday but Scott McCormick still answered my online request. From there he was knowledgeable, and found answers to my questions when he didn t know the answers. He negotiated a great deal on my new 3035D tractor. Financing was simple and the tractor was delivered on time. I put it to work right away. Very pleased customer. Thanks Scott!

This is where I have my John Deere lawn equipment serviced. When buying equipment made by John Deere and Stihl. Sales and service departments are always helpful when I am here. Staff have been nothing but Profesional and friendly everytime I am there.
