EDIT- I took one star away for 2 reasons. 1) I ended up needing the nationwide warranty, but this shop neglected to include part numbers for the defective part. That info is required for the warranty work to be completed. The new shop was able to call them and get the required info. 2) My local shop runs $350 less for the same job. I guess that's part of the "break down on vacation tax". Not the end of the world but its a bummer when you dont have options out on the road. We're talking about a $1k repair. $350 is a large vacation breakdown tax.Original Review -76 Station with an auto repair shop on-site. We had a fuel pump go out in our Chevy Truck while driving down I-5. We were coming from Sacramento, CA, and on our way to the dunes in Winchester Bay. We got a tow to this shop. They had the problem diagnosed in about 10-15 minutes. They ordered parts and got us back on the road by noon the next day. It was a huge relief and only cost us one day of our vacation. They have a courtesy shuttle that took us to and picked us up from the hotel of our choosing. The price to fix our truck was fair. I called a couple of other shops and got pricing for the same work. They were right in line with the other service/repair shops. My goal was only to make sure we weren't being taken advantage of. We weren't. The shop is a bit cluttered and dirty, but that didn't affect them getting the job completed correctly. The staff was very friendly and understanding about the need/want for us to get back on the road. They are open 24 hrs a day. This means they were able to keep an eye on our trailer for us with 5 atvs/quads on it. All in all we had a good experience with this shop.

If I could give less I would. A couple months back I took my older BMW in because I was experiencing overheating. They said they d check it out and get back to me. Later on that day I got a call, they told me that my car had a blown head gasket and quoted me for the whole motor to be replaced. One of the workers directly lied to me over the phone saying they ran a block test, it came back positive for a blown head gasket and that the whole motor was gonna need to be replaced. I obviously declined, and then they offered me less than $500 to just take the car (it is worth MUCH more than that). A couple months later I take it to Ashland Automotive by El Paraso, and it turns out that when I replaced the water pump I didn t properly flush out my coolant system. They happily flushed it out for me, filled up my reservoir and boom, I ve been driving my car everyday since. There was never any milky spots in the oil, no white cloudy exhaust, NO SIGNS OF A BLOWN HEAD GASKET. Absolute disgusting pigs who work here, DO NOT CONSIDER THIS SHOP EVER!!

Came in for a routine oil change on my 2017 vehicle. Owner was passive aggressive and rude. Although I was clear that my vehicle needs synthetic oil he did not use it. Got an oil alert from my vehicle two weeks later and when I brought it to the owner's attention he was dismissive. One week later my motor was destroyed and my vehicle was EMPTY on oil. TLDR: avoid this business. You will be lied to and potentially have thousands of dollars of auto repair to take to SOMEONE ELSE

My clutch was dead, dead, dead. I am was traveling cross country and they got the job done and me back on the road. They were very kind. Most importantly, my car is running so well - the best it has in years. I d place my trust in them always (if I lived here).

My jeep died and was towed here he said it was the coil pack which he replaced for $258. It lasted long enough to get me back to my RV but the next time I drove it happened again and I took it to a different place and was told the same coil pack had gone bad again. This time they did a test and told me the ECM(engine control module) was shot and it cost me $3500 so far it is still running well. But why didn't the guy at Valley View find the problem?

Total skeeves!!! They gave me an estimate that was 90.00 higher than the next 4 I got. If you're a woman, they Cleary see dollar signs thinking you won't know you're being ripped off. DO NOT go here! Plenty of HONEST mechanics in the valley...this is NOT one. ZERO helpful.

Totally dishonest, I bought a car from them. Seemed to run fine except for the AC not working, they said they take a couple hundo off and fix the AC for free so I bought it. The minute they fixed the AC problems started. The check engine light came on and the car felt like it was losing power same day. Then the front brakes went out, then a wheel baring, then the back breaks, so busy fixing stuff I put off the check engine light till last but the power loss kept getting worse. When I finally had a mechanic check it out I found out the reason the AC was disconnected was the vehicle was only firing on 3 cylinders and would not have been able to drive rt for a test drive with the extra load. Only a month after I bought it the vehicle lies dead and I m totally broke.Service: Steering & suspension repair

The mechanics at Valley View stepped up to the challenge and replaced the seatbelts of my vehicle. Two hours of labor was well worth the trip. Thank you.

Like many stories on these reviews, buying a car from valley view auto has been a tough time, complete with the runaround before they tell you that "all sales are as-is"I'm about $12000 in the hole after buying a truck from them, and after a month of runaround about whether or not anything will come of it, the answer was finally "get it off our property within 72 hours."When I arranged a tow truck and showed up the truck was still fully disassembled and required me rescheduling. When I came back to pick it up the second time it was put together but not in a place that would even start. The mechanic was surprised that I wanted it to start, despite it at least running when I brought it in. On second thought I shouldn't have taken the truck off the property until they got it started again.I'm thoroughly disappointed as they've been my go to shop for every car I've owned since moving to Oregon. I've had transmissions replaced, a/c pumps replaced, most service you can imagine over 5 or 6 of my cars. Most of the time it's reasonably priced. There are several mechanics there who are fantastic, but my guess is that the decision maker/owner is the one that lets the experience suffer when he needs to be consulted.I hope that the mechanics who I've had great service with (namely Miles) eventually open their own shop that I can continue to bring my vehicles to. Unfortunately after the sour taste left in my mouth about the truck I'll be taking my vehicles somewhere else for service and repair.

I appreciate that they fit me in during a busy summer weekend, and they did an adequate repair. As a businessman, I was okay with them doubling the cost of the parts for what you pay online, and waiting 6 hours to service my vehicle as I was traveling north from California to Eugene. What I didn't like was them charging $384 for less than an hour of work. They said I was paying for their expertise, but repairing a blown spark plug is not rocket science. If you're on the road and you need a place that's open on the weekend, they'll do a decent job for you, but they'll gouge you for it. If you're a local in Ashland, I would consider other shops that have more honest pricing.Service: Engine repair

Worst shop ever, treats customers like they're stupid especially women, lies, yells at customers, overcharges and does repairs without prior authorization. No one should feel safe going to this shop.

The crew at Valley View have now saved my butt twice and its time to write a review. I can not recommend them enough. First time, my '04 pilot needed new brakes. I called everywhere, including cost co auto service, until I decided to check out VV. Myles went out of his way, on an already booked day, to call around and find me the best price out there for the parts I needed, that day - it was literally the best deal out there. They had me in and out same day. The second time I had a transmission light come on my Ridgeline that I was not aware of, right as my family and I were headed out for a trip. Again, on a super packed day Myles told me to come on in. Michael thoroughly checked out the truck, the indicator, and finally gave us the OK to go - all the while Myles educated me on what to look for and what to do in the future. If you want educated and PERSONAL service with people who care about getting you on the road and NOT squeezing every penny out of you - go here. I found my auto shop.

Over the past several years, and twice in the past month, I have sought the services of this establishment. During these times, both Adam and Myles have worked on my vehicle. My experience with both of these technicians has been consistently positive. They were straightforward, honest and courteous. They did good work and completed it in a timely manner. Their prices were fair, and if they missed anything, they took care of it without charging me for their labor. I would certainly use them again in the future, and highly recommend them to anyone in need of good, competent auto repair.Service: Engine repair

Our college aged daughter was stuck on a Friday afternoon with a car that wouldn t start. With us 3 hours away and her needing her car to come home we were having a tough time figuring out what to do. We called on a Saturday morning, he was one of the only mechanics in Ashland open, and was very kind and courteous with our situation. We got her car towed there, he diagnosed the problem, replaced the starter, and she was back in business by 5pm same day. I can t tell you how much a relief it was to have someone willing and able to help us out when we were in a bind!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic

I would give them more stars if I could. The level of care and service here is impeccable. Took the car in to get the ac fixed. Their diagnostic fee is half that of the other shops in the valley. They called and told me what needed to be repaired and gave me an estimate and got my okay before doing the work. They had it done within a day, but the next day it wasn't working again. They had me bring it back at no charge and got it working again. Unfortunately the next day it had stopped working. They hadn't found a leak or anything major, but were determined to get it fixed. They spent another day searching and tests and finally found the smallest of cracks hidden in the most difficult of locations. The leak repair was way out of our budget and they were super understanding. I asked if they could work with me and refund some of the previous repair cost, which they agreed to. Once I got to the shop to pick the car up, they had decided to refund all but the diagnostic fee. I was shocked. They truly are there to serve and repair with honesty and compassion. I will be using them for all future mechanic needs and I highly recommend them.Service: A/C installation & repair

I was on my way home to California from Eugene when my Jeep's engine completely stopped. Miles and the crew at Valley View were amazing, even though the problem was really serious (a spun bearing). They drove me to Medford to pickup a rental, and were able to get me back on the road as soon as the parts came. I don't know if they're the cheapest option around, but they're professionals who know engines and spend their day helping people stranded like me. Thanks for doing such an amazing job!Service: Engine repair

I bought a 2009 Town & Country van from them. I put $1,500 of my own repairs into it and then a month later the engine mechanically seized up. They gave me the run around and did not make it right I'm $6,500 in the hole broke without transportation to work and they don't care. Matter fact that fellow Mi pretended to be a lawyer but his crude streetsense was just an insult. My advice is not to trust these people or have any work done or by any of their vehicles ever.

This is one of the best shops in Oregon. We had our transmission blow a seal on our way from Portland to San Diego. We were almost to the Summit of the last big mountain pass before you get the California border. We reached out to the shop after already calling around. Did I mention we were pulling a Travel Trailer? I got a hold of Vince who gave me a great tow company to use.(best price as well) not only are the open on weekends but they have a space for a RV to park with hook up. He said we can get parked there and first thing they would take a look at it. We all did not have a good feeling, we thought the transmission was going to need to be replaced. They were able to get not only it fixed but also replaced my water pump before the shop closed. Curt one of the many great mechanics there did an amazing job and is an awesome person. Myles did everything he could to prevent transmission replacement. He went above and beyond. I wouldn t hesitate to ever use this company. Good people here. Also did I mention this was all done on a Saturday after breaking down around 4-5pm on a Friday night?

Let me start by saying that I am very happy with Valley View Auto Repair, and I would absolutely take my car there again. There was a mix up with the ignition part they installed in my car. It's a long story and I'm not a mechanic so I probably won't get it right if I try to explain all of it. That said, the issue was confusing even for someone who works at a parts store and another friend of mine who is a car hobbyist. A short version is that my car in unusual in being able to have two different types of ignition parts in it that will both work. The part they used was more expensive (but also has more features), but it was going to be more expensive for me to get spare keys. So they accidentally upgraded my car. I was upset about the extra expenses. HOWEVER, I went back and explained the problem.Vince treated me very kindly and respectfully and gave me a refund. He told me that cars don't usually allow for two different parts/systems to work (I'm simplifying what he said and I know it was true, because I had already found this out from my friend). I thought he was more than fair in his treatment of the the issue. I would say he was generous.I used to do some repair work (not on cars) and I know that mix-ups happen. Nobody's perfect. What impressed me was that he wanted to make it right, and he did. Since I can trust him to deal with me honestly even after mix ups, I'll keep going there. In fact, I'd rather go there than someplace where I don't know how I might be treated if there is a mix-up.Vince is kind, respectful, and has integrity. I can recommend this shop.

Got my F250 diesel worked on. I called them needing my breaks to be bleed. And I got a oil change. They got me in the same day and finished the same day. Even offered me a ride home so I could wait for the work to be finished. But no need I had my wife follow me up there but was kind and pleasant that they offered.

This is an extremely unprofessional and unethical repair shop !!!We are in Washington state and were helping someone out that had their vehicle broken down in Oregon. We called this shop and spoke with the manager about getting the vehicle diagnostic done. They said they do a free diagnostic on the vehicle then stated what their hourly rate was and said there was no charge whatsoever for the diagnosis of the vehicle. We had the vehicle towed to the shop and called them again when it was dropped of to confirm they would do the diagnostic and nothing else without authorization we left them out cell phone number to call as soon as they knew what was wrong with the vehicle. We then did not hear from the shop for days. The next communication we had from them was a impound notice in the mail with a diagnostic charge and storage fees for hundreds of dollars!!!!After calling the shop numerous times and speaking with at least two managers (who stated they spoke with the owner) in regards to the notice they stated that the charges are now $775 to pick up the vehicle!!!We have numerous conversations on the phone (all our calls are recorded) that they freely admit that they told us the diagnosis was free and there was no charge for the service. Also they admitted that they did not call us as instructed in regards to the diagnostic when it was complete. This appears from our experience to be a predatory auto repair shop that is looking to make money off of unsuspecting customers by charging for services that are advertised and verbally communicated to be free.To be clear I have been in the auto industry for 13 yrs and this is unethical what they are doing. They spent less than an hour on an easy diagnosis and are now requiring $775 to pick the vehicle up.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I stopped by Valley View to have a low beam light bulb replaced. I was charged just shy of $300. Service tech stated it is a difficult bulb to replace, hence the cost. Bulb has never been centered since and that same bulb has burned out again. Found the instructions online to replace the bulb which takes about 15-20 minutes. When I pulled the replacement bulb out, the clips were broken because the incorrect bulb was utilized as the replacement. The seat of the incorrect bulb was filed down to jam it back into my vehicle - I now understand why it has been off centered ever since Valley View replaced it. I strongly discourage anyone from utilIzing this business. $300 for the incorrect bulb which was incorrectly replaced for what took me 20 minutes to replace correctly. That is just shameful and criminal. 0 stars.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I appreciate this place so much! They fixed my truck in a timely manner, price was exactly what they quoted and the work was good! They called me and told me what was going on before they did the work to make sure I was ok with the timing and the price. Which I was! Great work! We have had several of our cars worked on here and we will certainly have any other needed work done here! Thank you Valley view auto!

It's a helpless feeling when your kid is hundreds of miles away and has car trouble. That being said, I can highly recommend Valley View Auto Repair. They repaired my daughters car quickly and at a very fair price. Even provided shuttle service for her to pick up the car. Had her back on the road the same day. Vince was a pleasure to work with!Service: General repairs & maintenance
