Great place to fly into 3O9 and golf for the weekend! Grand Lake offers plenty of boating fun as well. We enjoy visiting every year. We only wish the TVs were streaming enabled.Rooms: Newly renovated, clean, full suites.Nearby activities: With a pool, half basketball court, renovated game room, and board games available at the front desk. The kids have plenty to doSafety: It's a very nice quiet area.Walkability: The restaurants and marina at Shangri-la are practically right across the street.Food & drinks: Stock up at the local grocery store and use the in room kitchen or walk over to Doc's at Shangri-laNoteworthy details: Pool towels are provided.

So i had called and spoke with amber who just so happens to be the general manager i kindly asked how much the incidental deposit would be she told me 100$ so i felt comfortable about booking the room. Once i arrive to the hotel i get there and the incidental deposit is now 250$ so i called amber i asked her what seemed to be the problem with the deposit and why i was told that there was only 100$ deposit not 250 she said.she didnt know so i asked her may i please speak with your supervisor she then tells me she is the general manager.... how does the general manager not know how much the deposit is.??? Then she hangs up on me . The third party i booked through will not refund me any of the money i spent so there is only money lost and no way to recover any of my funds... thanks AMBER

Great stay. Totally surprised that there aren't any elevators there. We were tired of helping the elderly get their luggage and food up. Where you have the trash can closets you can put an elevator or dumbwaiter there. Dumbwaiter on one side and the trash can closet all the way on the opposite end. Yes people will complain about that too but some kind of help for the elderly. Those steep ramps are a mess. I'd rather see an elevator than upgrading the rooms because they are very clean and nice enough.

It is what it is. It's like motel 8 made an apartment. The bed and pillows are good though and the shower has good pressure. The washer and dryer could come in handy.

We booked this place in February for a stay in June. The day of our stay they emailed us that they cancelled our reservation due overbooking. Not only did it leave us without a place to stay last minute, but it s been over 30 days and we still haven t received the refund back to our credit card despite several emails. Will have to file a credit card dispute now .

Great place, lots of room for a family. Right next to a golf course. The people are very nice. I wish it had a beach but overall I would love to come back.Rooms: Great size and perfect for a week long vacation!Nearby activities: Golf, great river to boat or fish.

We definitely urge any potential customers to consider elsewhere. The 1 star is for the maintenance crew. He seemed like the type of person that enjoyed his job and wanted to see things improve. Otherwise we aren t able to rate this spot beyond a 1/5. Our room had a strong stench, and I have chronic migraines - so we said something to the front about it. They apologized and said all the rooms were dirty and there is nothing they can do besides essentially offering to spray the carpets with freshener to mask the scent. Maybe an hour later we discovered urine colored droplets leaking from the top floor into our bathroom, okay, gross. Contacted the front again, immediately was able to magically find a room available for us. Our room keys stopped working 2-3 times in the next day. The front of course is familiar with this happening and said in the next year they will transition to a different system okay. The rooms themselves are outdated, but comfortable for a short term stay, assuming no issues that we had arise during your stay. Overall for us, too many negative experiences happened and we opted to leave early. Our stay was less than pleasant, and we do not recommend this place for your stay on Monkey Island.

Time for an exit review. Units are clean and quiet. Could never make the heat come on so chilly. Very dark with no overhead lighting except in dining kitchen and laundry areas. Outdated and not particularly attractive. Great having a grill. Staff is wonderful! Can't say enough about how very nice they all are. Maintenance changes a bulb out for us promptly.

The "resort" was located on a on a huge beautiful lake. But we were unaware of just how remote this location would turn out to be. It was a good 30 minute drive to go to a Walmart, a grocery store or any place to eat. Unless you are a golfer or own your own boat do not go there!!! We had an issue with No hot water during our entire weeks stay. When we complained to management they said you have to let the water run for 7 minutes to get hot water. Not true. The master bath sink never got hot. The resort offered no activities such as a wine and cheese reception or a welcome breakfast that most RCI properties have. There were no activities such as exercise classes or crafts for the children. It was a very disappointing stay to say the least. We were bored to tears

Beautiful area, nice room and helpful, friendly staff. We had a one bedroom which was quiet and clean. Murphy bed mattress was a little soft for me, but fine for my daughter. I have two negatives I will mention, but it's important to note that neither would keep me from staying here again. The air conditioner was older kind of like a hotel unit. It was loud and clanky. Also, no elevator...if you will have lots of luggage a first floor unit would be best.

The first time I stayed. Found a leak in the closest in a room on 2nd floor. The next room I stayed in was fine. But sitting outside in the back. Smelled like sewer. And the fridge is dirty under the drawers in the bottom. Need more than on frying pan. And a non stick pan would be nice. And I think we should be able to smoke from the balcony I love the one is Vegas. They allow smoking on balcony. Over all was nice.Forgot to mention. The key cards and doors don't work very well. Think its time to upgrade to bracelets. If you can't get in you have to walk all the way back around to get in. And really sucks when the upstairs door won't work and down stairs.

Good customer service overall. Rooms well kept and spacious! Good pool and recreational areas. Good location, we will come back. My only complaint is a odd smell in the hallways. Not sure if it's the carpet or related to the water?

The rooms were large and clean. The kitchen had everything we needed. Even though we were next to the reception desk and on the golf course, noise was not a problem! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. This is a fantastic place to stay.

The last time we rolled through here was 6 years ago.I deducted a star due to the employee at check in being difficult to work with. My husband JUST returned from being overseas for 2 straight years! Yes 2! He booked the family a suite and we knew it was going to be a relaxing time...until he checked in. He simply asked if we could have a spot upstairs as the property was clearly not booked full. The dude wouldn't oblige. The room is clean as is the kitchen. Our view was of the parking lot, but at least we got to grill.Another star deducted....there is a game room down the hall for reading, puzzles, ping pong, pool. There is a TV in there to watch a show or movie. We were in there one night and it was suppose to close at 10pm. There was another group of people there playing some game, not watching the kids and being a bit loud. Same employee from night before, was wanting to lock up and let the group know. They got to talking, and he said someone had left the area a mess a few nights ago. And he broke the rules and told them to lock up when they were done playing. Favoritism much?!Why aren't rules being enforced? Our maintenance fees pays for this blatant disregard. And before you think that I'm some older complaining retiree (no offence), I'm in my early 40s and been a member for the last 20 years!

Time for an update. This place is a bit out dated. Carpets are early 2000's. A/C units are not central. Although they are in each of the rooms and one for the living room. Also is time to get the place sprayed for spiders. Now for the pros: great location, love the view. The grandkids love the game room.I think my biggest complaint is that there is no elevator, and most of the time we get the top floor.

There isn't much to do around here, unless you fish or boat. There isn't any elevators. Do go anywhere you have to drive 10-15 minutes off the peninsula the resort is on. Parts of the pool wall are sharp. My niece cut her feet! This is not a place to go if you have kids.

Everything was great with one exception. Staff was courteous and friendly, location was lovely, room was perfect! My only disappointment, if not shock, was that they charge for wifi. We travel a lot and that is almost unheard of these days. We just did without because the asking price felt like highway robbery. But if you were depending on having it that may be a deal breaker. Not their fault locally, but a corporate flaw. Otherwise just lovely.
