These guys took great care of my 78 Camaro. The case was cracked on my transmission. I brought them a transmission which was no good, so they called me down and showed me why. They tracked down a donor case, and rebuilt my transmission to desired spec, for a great price. They had my car done very quickly, and it would have been even quicker if I had not brought them the faulty transmission at first.Can t recommend these guys enough. They kept me updated every single step of the way, and invited me down to show me things that needed explained.

I have waited a couple of months to be sure everything was fine and it is. Mark is very friendly and professional. They rebuilt the transmission on my Corvette. I would not leave that car with just anyone unless I felt very comfortable and confident they knew what they were doing. He even brought out the technician that had worked on cars like mine (with pictures) to make me more comfortable. I would definitely use them again. Thanks Mark.Service: Transmission

My transmission was slipping very bad in my GMC SIERRA, Mark suggested a remanufactured transmission, I agreed, remanufactured transmission was installed and the truck drives like a brand new, plus a 3 year unlimited mile warranty at a better price than 2 other shops that I visited, I highly recommend this shop for Honest auto service.Thanks MarkService: Transmission

The staff at Best Transmission are very knowledgeable and the new owner Mark is very responsive and up front, no hidden costs or the nickel and dime most shops try to get you to do. They get to the root of the problem and got me back on the road faster than expected. Their prices are very reasonable and had the best communication as I was informed every step of the way. We were in a really tough spot, in the middle of a shipping route of pets cross country and unable to continue due to transmission failure. We had two dogs with us and a puppy, and really needed to get back and running ASAP to get them to their homes. AND it was the day before the 4th of July.Mark not only got us into the shop within minutes of talking on the phone, but then he even dropped my husband at our hotel personally and then drove Himself all the way to Michigan to pick up an improved transmission that we desperately needed. He then continued with his employees to get our transmission installed and all ready to go, and got us back on the road in a matter of 2 days. He even picked my husband back up from the hotel on Wednesday morning, rather than allow him to walk back to pick up our van. AMAZING! Throughout, he and his employees were kind, helpful, and informative. And very sweet to the dogs! We don't know how we could have recovered from our pickle if we hadn't contacted Best Transmission.

**Post edit a year later. Ran into some more issues with same car this past winter. Took it in. All it was, was a simple oil change. Cost me $129 dollars for him just to tell me I needed an oil change. AND NOT EVEN GIVE ME ONE. All he did was put a little fluid in to get me on my way. EXCUSE ME. Definitely got cheated on that. When I did get an oil change, they noticed it was a mess inside and they didn't bother to clean it after they had fixed my engine the first time. Definitely GOT RIPPED OFF and taken advantage of. My business will be elsewhere from now on.Brought in my 2015 Ford Escape with some engine issues. I was told they would be able to help me out and they sure did! Mark was honest and professional about what the issue was and the cost. Got my car back after a little over a week. I highly recommend them, especially if you're looking for some where local for repairs or just general work.Services: Transmission, Auto engine diagnostic

They gave me a fair price, a fair estimate of time, and everything works great. Would recommend this shop to my closest friend. Mark is very transparent and up front about everything he is doing to fix your car up.

Mark (owner of shop) was incredibly childish, rude, and condescending when dealing with him. His apprentice posssses more communication and people skills, and that is sad.It would be fine, if Mark did not interact with customers. But as I was speaking to his apprentice, he rudely butted in and insulted me and my family.Repair did not workMark was condescending and doubtful of me telling him there is an issue.Do not have transmission work done here.

I was leary of taking my jeep in for transmission work because of the reviews I had read. Something told me to give the place a call. I'm so happy I did! Come to find out, Mark had recently bought the shop. His custom service was excellent. Not only did he listen to what I said, he kept in touch with me as the work was done. I picked it up today and it is like driving a brand new jeep. I highly recommend Best Transmission for your car repairs. The prices were far better than ANY of the other shops I called.

My alternator "died" on my '09 Kia Sportage...it has less than 89,000 miles so for a dated "to here and there" ride, I just needed it fixed! After calling around for prices (now, I was ready to scrap it) and then a referral from a friend for Best Transmission & Auto Repair....thank you, Mark! I called and they got me in within minutes! A-1 customer service. Great price. The shop was very clean. Staff friendly and told me exactly what I was paying for. Encouraged me to shop around. Very fair and friendly. I ll be back!! My car Sexy Red thanks you.

They were very friendly and helped me out for financial aid. Very helpful with all the things that needs to be done with a transmission.The thing is when I got my van back it had some load noises in the front. Found out a few of the bars were broken. Now not sure when or how but it wasn't that way before. But my point is why wouldn't they tell me about it when they took the transmission out that it was all broken? Just wondering.

My girlfriend bought a used car that had a transmission installed at this shop 2 years ago. The transmission started heavily leaking fluid from the input seal and left us stranded on vacation. We noticed that there was a 3 year warranty on their work so we gave them a call since we were still in this warranty period. A grumpy rude man answered the phone. He denied that Best Transmission ever did work on the car. He stressed her out so much it made her cry when she was already devastated that the car broke down. I'm surprised this place is still in business. They don't fix the problem and have terrible customer service.

My boyfriend and I were traveling back to IL when his transmission went out ('11 Chevy Cruze). We found AAA on Yelp and decided to give it a shot. Everyone seemed friendly and willing to help. Unfortunately, because of the holidays, they were extremely backed up so we had to rent a car and were told to come back in 4 days to pick it up. Also mind you, this shop is not open on weekends.Here begins the MAJOR issues:The car was not done in 4 days as we were originally told, in fact, it's been 3 wks and he STILL doesn't have his car back! After 8 days he was told the car was done but had to pick it up from the dealership because they didn't have time to go get it before closing at 5pm. When he got there to pick up the "fixed" car it ran for 20 min and the new transmission went out again. He had to drive back to Chicago with his cousin and leave the car in OH for AAA to go get the next day and try to rebuild a transmission for a second time. After building out the transmission again, the company told us they were getting error codes and couldn't figure out what the codes meant-more delays. After two days of getting this response, they finally said they put the wrong type of cylinders in and had to order new ones. Once those were delivered the transmission was built, however once they test drove the car at higher speeds (50mph) the transmission would neutral out.As of 1/20/2015 there has been no communication from the company and we are STILL waiting to hear what the status is. For $2,500 and the amount of time this has taken, I thought this company would work to rectify this issue and make our car a top priority--not the case.I'm hoping by writing this review, AAA Transmission will see how dissatisfied their customer is and will step up to the plate. At this point, I would not recommend this company to a friend or acquaintance.

Worst customer service I ve ever dealt with.. paid 1800$ for my trans to be rebuilt.. since then it s been back 4 times with three different torque converters, I dropped it off 2-1/2 weeks ago for the 4th time and they ve had it since and was told today they still don t know what s wrong with it, wish I would of read the reviews before I chose this god awful place. With Jesus fish on the sign you think they would have some type of values .. will never do business here again.. and more then likely I m gonna have to sue to get my money back and take somewhere else

This place is a joke they replaced the output speed sensor on my wife's Acura then told us it was fixed, the issue it had when we took it in was it would flare the upshifts until it would stop shifting all together or drop in and out of gear. Needless to say the output speed sensor did not fix the issue about 4-5 Miles from their shop it stopped shifting again. I called to try to get my money back, this guy is insane he will just talk and talk not allowing you the ability to explain the issue and what you want to do about it......... I will never use his services again I'm unable to function because the frustration this man has caused me.

Not Good!I dropped my car off on 4/01/2015 to have specific work done. Contacted AAA many times for status and estimate prices with only excuses! Picked up car on 4/142015 with no work done.Not a great service by no means!!!!

This was called AAA Transmisson but still the same place the Best Transmission website says since 1994. Do not let these guys work on your car! they rebuilt my 2005 mustang rear end and 11 months later after the 3 month warranty ran out I have to have it rebuilt again! I payed top dollar for poor workmanship!

Steer Clear!!!!! I just took my car in due to some shifting issues and was told the transmission was shot. and the Torque converter was broke. Quoted me $1600 to fix it. Took it to another shop and they replaced a $20 sensor and it has been fine ever since.

Run away from this place, horrible service. I got my transmission rebuilt on my Nissan and it never drove the same again. Under the hood parts were missing and not securely fastened. Pay the extra money and go to a legit shop.

Rude unprofessional. The man on the phone dose not let let you get in any questions. Ordered the wrong transmission. Had to pay for his mistakes Gave me a quote of 1400. Payed 2400. Stay away from that place .Stay away. From this place
