Overall, I believe this business does good work the reason I only gave four stars is because I do not like the poor communication that I have received at this establishment. Tom, the manager has had my car since 10-27-23. I paid Tom for the diagnostic fee which was 750 because I have some transmission issues. Instantly the technicians were able to link the issues back to the transmission and the way that it was installed. I came back in signing paperwork on October 30, 2023 and made another payment And after making that payment I came back on November 1 and November 15 of 2023 to make another payment . That is a total of $3000. My bill is 4100. My problem is not with the communication of the price. It is the communication of when the car will be done. I was told once I paid that the car would be done by 2 to 3 weeks. And each time that I call back, they re telling me they re working on it but I drive past that way every day to go to work and my car is still sitting . they did explain that they pull the transmissions out and then push them out. That is understandable. The other thing that I did not like that my vehicle was left on the lot completely unlocked for anyone to go into car parts were left in the trunk of the vehicle. I took pictures each time. I spoke with the manager Tom who told me my vehicle will be ready on 12/6/23 which the entire to December 15, 2023 and after that he told me that the vehicle will be ready for pick up on December 16, 2023, which is a Saturday knowing that they would be closed. So I drive up there looking stupid because they are closed. I do not like the way that I am being treated because I feel like I am getting the runaround. Other than that I would refer them. And I did not get on here to bash them. I got on here to leave a review.

I am extremely disappointed in the service I received here. I trusted them and the BBB I paid almost $3000 // $2895 to be exact and had to bring my car back twice after because it was still doing the same thing. After I spoke to the top guy there, he told his staff to replace the part. I continued to drive my car and had nothing but issues since replacing almost everything they supposedly fixed. To top it off I have voiced my frustrations every time got was excuses, so I had to bring men in the office and have them call on my behalf and they told me these guys was full of it. After being lied to, treated poorly and pushed off I did not even receive a professional I am sorry or discount on my work that was done or if in the future if something goes wrong bring it back. I called today and got brushed off as well as to what was all done to my vehicle and was told that I can bring it in leave it for a couple of days and they'll find paperwork to see what's wrong with it I would not recommend this place to anyone I would find a mechanic off the streets and probably receive better service and my car would probably run longer.Service: Transmission

This shop just earned a life long customer. I thought I was having transmission problems on my truck and walked in ready to pay $3k+ to get it fixed. They diagnosed the issue back to a misfire from one of the spark plug boots coming off. They pushed the boot on and totally fixed the sudder I was feeling in the free diagnosis of my truck. Turns out there was no issue with my transmission at all. They could have easily rebuilt my transmission and charged me thousands of dollars but they were honest and looking out for me - the customer instead of trying to take advantage of me.

I was told to go there by a local repair shop. I asked the man if he could come outside to look at car so I could show him where the fluid was spraying out of . He said they dont do that...I explained were from our of town .I just wanted to show them what's going on... So he said he would send someone out...We waited 30 mins . My son finally said to go to the other transmission shop down the road and they waited on us within 5 mins... No customer skills

Took my car here because I was told by another shop my differential was going bad. Dropped it off and in less than a day they had traced the problem back to an issue from a recent repair from another shop. Had that repair done at that shop and back on the road the next day. Hoping I have no transmission issues, but if I do, I will be taking my vehicle here again. Everyone I spoke to was nice and did everything right. I had my car towed to Brownies after one of the very nice technicians told me they would take a look. The tow company was very busy and by the time it got over there the parking lot was full. The owner called me later in the day and was frustrated that my car was there as there was nowhere to park it, but I explained to him that I was encouraged to have it towed there that AM. It seemed like they weren't exactly on the same page and it was unfortunate to have the customer put in the middle. The owner said it would be weeks before he could get to it. BUT, they quickly called me back and explained that the drive shaft was broken. They took the time to call and find out that my particular car was under a recall for this very issue. I was able to have the car towed to the dealership and fixed for free. What started off a little rocky ended fantastically! They could have easily not taken the extra step of finding out my car was eligible for free repair and I would have never known and paid either them or someone else to have it fixed. I really appreciate the honesty and extra effort. I'd have no problem taking any vehicle here in the future because they've earned my trust. Thanks!

I am very irritated my car probably been here for a few weeks , I was calling every other day to see have he got to my car so Tom will always say he will give me an call by the end of the day or week so last week Aug 11,2023 I had my dad go and he said a note about my car was on the board so I could have been picked it up so then they says I m having electrical issues so I get my car towed and took to a Chevy dealership it is not aug 17, 2023 and I have to pay $500 for a diagnosis just for them to tell me it wasn t electrical it is my transmission !!!!!! I m so frustrated about this communication was not done right at brownies I am very disappointed .

Jeff is an amazing business man. Took my 2012 gmc Acadia to get looked at and he did it free of charge. Also broke down exactly what he needed to do and fix for my transmission. Jeff is a great store manager. Great customer service. Slightly lacking communication. Other than that with any issues that seem to arise, I can give one solid tip. Keep your cool and Jeff is more than willing to help in anyway possible. Even after 1.5 years of struggling with a Ford ranger transmission. I kept calm cool and collective. Finally getting my ranger back and having it back for almost a week. The OD sensor is agian back on. But pulling the fuse and the replacing it the issue goes away for a short while. Having other issues than the transmission Jeff fixed it at their cost. Makes up for a little of the lost time. Definitely recommend this shop so long as you have ample time and another vehicle to drive. Warranty is no issue. Would give 5 stars if I would have gotten more updates rather than having to call myself weeks after I was suppose to receive a call...... thanks for working so hard. Keep up the great work.

when i brought them my car, my newly replaced engine ran so quietly, you couldn't tell if it was running. my car had been inspected by a different shop only a week before. the ONLY issue i had was a slipping transmission. i picked my car up from brownie's and the engine was ticking and i had trouble starting my car. i also had a puddle of oil in my drive way the next morning. i complained and they told me to bring it back. when i came for my car the second time i was told the engine was shot. it was clanking and completely undrivable at that point. they took zero responsibility and offered to replace the engine for an additional $5000. i read their response to another critical review and they said the guy should be sued for slander. brownies is the one that should be sued and all the hacks that work there should go back to auto zoneService: Transmission

We were driving to Illinois from Cleveland, oh pulling a horse trailer when our truck started leaking transmission. These guys were wonderful! They got us in right away knowing we were in a sticky situation. Had answers right away and got us back on the road safely. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.Service: TransmissionService: Transmission

"Free" scope cost me $180. I was told that after they scoped my car they wanted to proceed with an internal inspection that wouldn't cost any more than $390. I got a call the next day saying my transmission was out and they needed $300 good faith payment to continue. Without knowing what else he told me his boss changed his business practice after he committed to me. They may do good work but I would rather have them put my car back together and take my business elsewhere. Oh and by the way that's going to cost me $180.

I am extremely disappointed in the service i recieved here. I had taken my vehicle here before and everything was great but not this tme. I was told my car would be picked up from another shop on Monday and on Wednesday it was still not picked up.Even though i was gieven updates on my car they did not have. I called NUMEROUS. Times for updates and was told I would be called back and was not. I did not get my car till 5: 30 on friday. Maybe had it been picked up on Monday that would not have been the case . the whole time i was paying for a rental and they knew that. To top it off when i voiced my frustration all i got was excuses. After being lied to, treated poorly and pushed off I did not even receive a professional I am sorry or discount on my work that was done. So The week and work cost me over $2000 and no one even cared .

This Brownies IT location is a pure winner in my book. Had a major transmission leak that I've spent countless money on fluid to keep it going, then I checked reviews on Google to see who's the best around. Clearly people who gave this location a one star must have a short term memory on where they took they car to get it worked on cause first thing first is the paperwork. Thanks to Jeff and his crew my garage floor dry again and did the work for a very nice price. Will do business again with them and let others know with transmission issues to take car to this location.

Took my Jeep Patriot to have transmission fluid put in since it takes it from the bottom. I would highly recommend them. They were by far the friendliest people I have ever met. Jeff was very professional and informative! Thanks guys, you re awesome!Aime e Franklin

How unfortunate. Left our Trailblazer overnight so they could "test" the problem. It took a half a dozen calls and the rest of the weekend just to finally reach them. They claimed to have been calling but there were no missed calls and no messages. Diagnosis new transmission. $2200. Took it to lyndsays transmission for a second opinion. After 5 minutes he determined that a cooling line was leaking. Next day and $205 later it ran perfectly for a year and a half until we sold the SUV. Brownies is either incompetent or crooks. Not sure which but neither deserve your business.

Trash service, dont call bacl, youll have no updates on your car, will do fixes and charge you before they confirm, THEY WILL BREAK STUFF FOR YOU TO COME BACK LATER AVOID AT ALL COSTS, they have been trash since the older ppl retired. The ones in there now youd be better off on FB marketplace

After several rebuilds and nearly a year in this shop, my actual mechanic has made it clear this shop has destroyed several parts of my car. They also cracked the side cover of the transmission, causing leak of transmission fluid. This shop is incapable of performing high quality work. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else

Always good to me. Rebuilt my Ford transmission and put a new transmission in my Nissan. Any issues were resolved professionally and timely if any. Love these guys !

Dishonest and upselling.Chad was stepping in for Jeff had offered to check out the car for the whining sound for free. Jeff soon came and after they had diagnosed the issue stated it was the 2nd gear in the transmission, also stating that they were the ones that rebuild the transmissions for toyota, he said hes never seen an issue like this but its 1600 to get started... I went to several shops after and eventually over to the Dealer, only to find out after paying for a full up diagnostic that a air hose was unplugged and caused all of this. The dealer stated it was a very simple catch. I am very surprised that this was not caught from Brownies- they could have costed me 1600 to plug in a air hose with this idiocracy. Never bring a car to these people.

I had a transmission problem a few years ago so I took it to Brownies and they did a phenomenal job. Jeff is really nice, he explains everything so u know what your I was paying for, and he told me what I need fixed instead of trying to make a profit! I take all my vehicles to Brownies because I trust them!

They hold up thier end of a complete transmition install with a warrenty. I was told to get fluids replaced with in one year. I thought I was going to pay f ok r the fluid change to keep up on the warrenty of transmition, but didn't. It wad on t j.g em and they did it in a quick fashion. Thanks Brownies. Great work.

Had about $300 worth of work done The day before New Year sThey called me to tell me my vehicle was ready and they weren t going to charge me anything this was the biggest blessing I ve ever had last year around the same time I had to spend $5000 to get my transmission rebuilt here.. I just want to say thank you so much You really show me how much you appreciate customers and I will return

My only issue is that they dont call you when they say they going to call you. My car had been there for 3 weeks, but that's no problem. I just would appreciate if they just took the time and call me.
