Washington and Lee is a great place to take your car. I recently had a real headscratcher problem with my idle. They worked diligently to find the problem. The first fix didn't work to their satisfaction and then they worked on it some more at NO CHARGE. They researched, tried things and communicated with me. I would highly recommend Washington and Lee for work on any car.

My Tire pressure light was found on for no reason in Saturday morning and I needed my car in the afternoon, I just googled to found this auto shop and called to them. They are so nice and helpful, help me to check the tire right away, figure out and fix the problem quickly. I would say I'll come back if my car get wrong again cuz I trust their high-quality service. FYI, the reception desk decoration is really cool, so impressed by the handmade chained snake!!!Service: Tires

Save your time and money. These dudes are a bunch of big babies. One guy literally had a temper tantrum when I said 110 dollars to hook a machine up to my car was a rip off. Go to Marathon just up the road and save some sanity. The owner at Marathon did in 10 minutes what these chumps did in 4 hours and for 110 dollars. What a joke! No idea how they are still in business.

Well, I knew I was on to something when the man on the phone didn't ask to charge me $50 just to look at it, like a couple other places in town seem to think is normal. Instead I told him what was wrong (wheel bearing) and he gave me a price to the penny. Then he fixed it in 2 days, exactly when he said he would despite having a lot full of other cars to fix. Then he let me add a muffler job and gave me the exact price and time for that too. So I went there, paid the exact amount at the time promised and it was fixed so well I'm driving it to this very day.Highly recommended.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I have had a horrible rattle and squeak in my car for 6 months. I have had my car to the dealer, a local AC shop and the tire store. None of them could figure out what the noise was. All of them recommend high dollar repairs.I took my car to Washington Lee and they took care of the problem immediately! It is so nice to drive in peace and quiet! I highly recommend Washington Lee Service. They are honest and excellent mechanics!!Service: General repairs & maintenance

Never been stiffed, they've always been communicative, and they're looking to fix your car right more than they're looking to make a buck. Recommend over dealership any time.

So I had my car worked on a few weeks ago here.I needed a fuel pump change, which required dropping my tank or I'd have done it myself.I have now driven my car for weeks and from Ohio to Virginia. The issue I was having, where my car reeked of gas when running, and sometimes wouldn't even start because the pump wasn't working, has not happened since I left their shop.I would give 5 stars but I can't.When I chose this place I'd read reviews below and seen them say about their employee yelling at them or charging more or or or. I chalked it up and gave it the benefit of the doubt. They bumped the price up on me about $300 because they ended up using their own new pump instead of the one I said I had. No pump I found was even close to $300 but I needed it done and couldn't get to the one I'd already bought. Also, take heed. They really aren't lying when they say that dude yelled at them, etc etc. Believe it. Idk honestly if dude even realizes he does it, I think he's really just like that.I asked for somebody else when I got him on the phone, and the other people there I talked to were awesome. Super cool, not hyped over nothing.

This is a fantastic auto shop. They are fast, but their work is high-quality, and they do a great job of explaining the what & why for each repair they make. I have been using Washington & Lee for 4 years now and I'm happy to keep doing so (well... as happy as one can be with a car that needs fixing).A special shoutout to Dean, who I have had the pleasure of speaking to on many occasions. He is knowledgeable, honest, and has fantastic customer service.Services: Exhaust, Tires, General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair, Wheel alignment, Brakes, Oil change

Excellent service. I showed up without advanced notice based on a recommendation by the Take 5 next door. They serviced my car twice as fast and for half the cost expected (and with a cheerful disposition). I will be a repeat customer!

Took my van there for rear shock job, becausemy old shocks rusted off. Asked if I could bring my own parts, they told me using customer parts is not apart of thier policy. So after the job was completed I asked if they replaced both old shock bolts, with new ones. The lied and said they did, so I asked if my receipts could reflect that they chznged my bolts on there as well as the shocks. One of the mangers theb came out givung me an attitude, very disrespectful because I asked them to change the receipt. Furthermore when I paid and left but I looked and only saw one of the shock bolts were new.So i then went back inside and was met with more unprofessional attitude because I pointed out they lied to me about the bolts, claiming the used bolt was just as good. But I just experienced a bolt that rusted off and would have brought new bolts if it wasn't against their policy to use customer bought parts. So now i have to drive around with a used bolt on my shocks, only taking thier words its just as good, when they could of just put on a new one to satisfy a customer.

I first dropped the car off to Mr. Tire because the tire got a nail it in and I wanted it plugged - it s a run flat tire and I wasn t sure if it could get fixed. Mr. Tire called me back a couple hours later with a ridiculous quote saying I needed all 4 tires replaced $879.96, some entire flush package for $389.99 new breaks and rotors $224.99 - they also charged $30 for all these extra inspections I didn t even ask for - I just wanted the tire plugged - it doesn t cost $30 to look at a nail in a tire and determine if it can be repaired - I took it down the street the next day to Washington and Lee and they fixed it for $25.00 - I appreciate honest businesses that don t try to up sell or take advantage of people. I left a review for Mr. Tire stating exactly what happened and the next morning they contacted me and started to slander Washington & Lee Auto - that s not professional at all & I will never go there again & I m not one to complain much!

Customer Service (guy behind the counter) was extremely rude. Actually yelling at me when I called for an update. They had my car for 3 days. I assume the work is good, after $1,800 of repairs they didn't have time to explain what they did - other than replace the differential. I would not go back.

Highly recommend these folks. They are a long time Cleveland Hts shop where we have taken cars for years. Today I had a sudden problem with my 2009 Honda Pilot. Something had broken. Terrible sound under the hood and it seemed to affect the steering. They had me bring it right in, and in about an hour called to tell me what it was, a broken stabilizer rod. They ordered the parts, replaced both of them to be safe, and I was back in business by mid afternoon! Very reasonable cost as well. Thanks, Dean.....

#LoveMeSomeW&LAutoService!!Probably one of the easiest, most helpful, and top-notch professional experiences with car care/maintenance/repair that I've had in my 35+ years "on the road."I wouldn't trust anyone else with keeping my car safe and well-maintained.Chip, the owner, and D.R., the head mechanic, are FABULOUS and VERY easy to work with. Hats off to you, gentlemen, for running a business the RIGHT WAY!!

3 stars based primarily in that my SUV was accepted for service on a short notice. Upon arriving, I noticed the shop appearance was, well, terrible. Grubby looking staff members albeit they were somewhat friendly. I dropped of the vehicle for a oil chance w/filter. Upon returning to take delivery, the price was increased from our original agreement. No worries, I paid.Just for kicks, I raised my hood only to find the engine cover was not installed properly, and oil spillage.. Sloppy work. Cost them 2 stars.

Had an issue with my car at the end of day on a Friday & was able to talk to staff & get my car in first thing Saturday and back on the road by noon. Good pricing and they took time to help explain my options for my situation. Will definitely return in the future.

I agree with the earlier reviews. While they are somewhat relaxed about scheduling regular service appointments, they are highly responsive when I identify a specific issue to them and are great about communicating what they are doing, cost, etc. up until the end. To an earlier poster's comment, I have never felt like I've been upsold or prompted to make a call I didn't feel comfortable making or given an array of confusing choices. And, while I'm no expert, the price has always seemed to be within "the zone" (not always the case at other places). I wouldn't take my car anywhere else.

My experience at Washington and Lee was pretty typical up until the end. My car was making a weird noise. I scheduled an appointment to bring it in and of course on that day it won't make the noise. The mechanic I talked to said he'd look at it anyway. They kept me updated through the process. Here's where they were atypical, they couldn't find anything wrong with my car after driving it around and lifting it up on the jack. They told me this and then they didn't charge me a dime. I've had my car other places and they have charged me $90 just to look at it. I'll be bringing my car here from now on, funky noises or not.

They overcharged me 500.00 for an air conditioner job. Replaced my air conditioner fluid and said it was cold but thst was not the case.Do not ho here they are not honest and they overcharge for work. Please do not support this business and they do not complete the work they say they do. The shop owner lied to my face thst an issue was fixed it was not.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I truly believe these guys are honest, do decent work, and are nice. My 3 stars is because they are just a little lazy with their customer interaction. It kind of seemed like someone said, "Dude, we should open a garage!" A little more focus on the business side would be appreciated these days. They are honest, though.

Great shop. Honest and forthright. Best in town. Also great location - near Lee Rd business and coffee shops in case you need to get some work done while they work. Some additional context: they replaced my brakes over a year ago. The check brake light came on due to malfunctioning calipers. They quickly ID d the issue, said it was covered under warrantee, and refused to take payment for the labor stating, we stand by our work .

These guys are the best. We just moved back to Cleveland and had car trouble, so even though now we are on the other side of the city from where W/L is, it's the only place we considered taking the car to. And, like always, they quickly diagnosed the problem, called with an estimate, and had it fixed the same day.

These guys never try to upsell me on anything and have even worked on my car right away without an appointment for something simple. Nothing lackadaisical here. The owner seems to be always around when I bring my car in and he takes an interest in all the repairs in the shop, either performing them himself or seeing to it that it's getting done. I trust them.

These people have been reliable and convenient for a variety of vehicles my family has owned over the years. It can sometimes take some time to get in, but they hit the deadlines they tell you to a T. It has been a pleasure having them keep up our vehicles.

I had my altenator replaced on my 2006 Nissan Murano. I was charged $300 for the part and $187 for installation. The average price for the part is around $150. I was charged double the price for an altenator with only a 12k mile warranty. The mechanic refused to tell me where the alternator was purchased. I also know that the collected the core money for my old alternator. I chose the place because it was recommend by tripple a. I was satisfied with the work but the price was robbery.
