What kind of place can fix you transmission problems without actually looking at your transmission? Why, Michael Crone Transmission Co., of course! This company operates with the philosophy that the only solution to any transmission problem is getting a new transmission. Because of this, they don't see any need to bother looking at your car.I took my car here in July when my car started to experience difficulty accelerating. Because it was near my workplace, I was able to leave my car here in the morning and walk. When I came back at the end of the day, I was immediately told that my transmission had to be replaced. The woman in the office talked a lot about how their $1780 replacement procedure was the the cheapest I could get, but didn't say anything about the nature of my problem. The closest she got was a warning to drive as little as possible at all until the time the replacement was scheduled to take place.I decided to take this unsubstantiated risk of a breakdown in order to get a second opinion from AAMCO Transmissions. The mechanic there got to the bottom of the problem in five minutes. He actually bothered to look in the owner's manual in order to find the transmission fluid dipstick. One look determined that the transmission fluid was empty! For the price of ten dollars, AAMCO was able to re-fill my transmission fluid and fix the problem which Mike Crone and Munro Mufflers had declared unfixable! I had no more transmission problems after this day. When I called Michael Crone to cancel the transmission replacement, they told me they had found a leak in the transmission fluid cables. There was no way to fix the leak without a new transmission. As a precaution, I took my car back to AAMCO. After a thorough search of my transmission system, they couldn't find the slightest indication of a leak. Michael Crone had just made this problem up!I don't know how companies like this can stay in business. Boycott Michael Crone Transmission, unless you really want to lose several thousand dollars.
