I have never been treated more poorly than from Laura at Shaws automotive in Akron Ohio This company came recommended to me through my father-in-law who worked across the street for 10 years. I understand sometimes companies go through phases. I set up an appointment and took in one of our trucks for a check engine light. They called me and told me that I needed control arms and bushings And that it will cost $1100.00 I said okay go ahead and fix it. Then I got a call from them saying it needed an alignment which I said go ahead and do. When I went to pick up my truck I asked what the check engine light was a result of. The answer I received was that they didn't diagnose it they just cleared it. However, they charged me for it and had to have it taken off the bill. Laura offered me a free diagnostics for the next time I would be there which I was okay with. Within the next 2 weeks my husband discovered that the inside of my tires had worn down to the metal so I took it to Mr. Tire only to discover I never got the alignment. I needed new tires because the treads were low but I didn't have to get them immediately until that moment. I called and tried to speak to somebody about it several times and finally had to ask for the owner to give me a call. Of course I had to go somewhere else to get an alignment on my truck so that my tires wouldn't get any worse. The owner Keith called me and told me that he had his technician go over the truck when they brought it in and said that it needed some new tires so they wouldn't reimburse me for tires which was fine. But I was charged for an alignment that I never got so Keith said he would let me use the reimbursement for any vehicle I brought in and I was also to get the free diagnostic. Today 3/ 26/ 24 I took my soon to be daughter in laws car into their shop, willing to give them another try. Laura was so nasty to me on the phone while I was asking for the appointment, very sarcastic and nasty when I asked for both the diagnostic and the reimbursement of the alignment to be applied, telling me that she would not be doing that. I Reiterated that I she offered me the free diagnostic and Keith the owner was reimbursing me for a service I was charged for and never got. She continued to be super nasty and hateful. If I could give this place a real score it would be negative 5 stars!! Keith really should let her go or he may not have a business left.Beware of this place. You get charged for services you don't get and when you catch it they tell you not to come back. Seriously, don't waste your time. There are so many other great places you can go.

Had an extremely poor experience at a different shop trying to get a wheel alignment, they told me I had thousands of dollars worth of repairs needed (broken springs, leaking water pump, etc). So I took my car to my local mechanic to check over everything, he verified the shop was full of it, and recommended I go to Shaws and they'll get me squared away.Shaws did my wheel alignment and did not notice anything else that needed done. The honesty was what I was looking for and that was exactly what I received, I'll be going there for future repairs.

I loved the way they actually showed me what was wrong and what he was doing to help me understand everything. He made me very comfortable and made sure my vehicle was done correctly and i will never use anyone else feom here on out!!! Thank you for the great work!!! Took the family vehicles here on multiple occasions for anything from brakes, AC, suspension. The mechanics always do a good job, the shop stands behind their work if there's a problem, and gets the cars in and out promptly and at very fair rates.

The sheer amount of work that they have done on my vehicles is staggering. They always do a great job, they're always fair on pricing. I've taken a vehicle here and got an estimate and walk through before starting work on it. They don't try to overcharge or trick you either. I find it very important to be able to trust your mechanic and I trust Shaw.

I ve used their services several times and have nothing but raving reviews. Friendly and kind staff, quick and quality services, and very fair prices. He also takes the time to explain the work and answer any of my questions, as I don t know much about cars. Very honest, genuine, and all-around good service. I won t go anywhere else for car issues!

Service was awesome! I had an emergency car repair on a front wheel bearing. Bill had me in the shop the same day. They kept me in the loop, and didn't try to upsell me or nickel and dime me for anything I didn't need. Very decently priced and the mechanics are very polite and work hard. I would definitely reccomend them- better priced than the chain stores and more straightforward people.

We took a vehicle here to have a pre purchase inspection done. The price was the lowest in the area and they were able to get us in the same day. They did a great, thorough job and we will always bring our vehicles back here!

Was told my vehicle needed a catalytic converter. Took for a 2nd opinion at dealership and learned a part replaced by Shaw's was not attached properly. So no catalytic converter needed. Now my brakes need replaced again for the 4th time since 2018 (Shaw's did all the brake work) and even tho Natalie set an appt and confirmed brakes would be covered by warranty, I have been refused service after Andy looked my car over. Stated my brakes do need to be replaced but they will no longer service my vehicle. Told me to pick-up my vehicle and not to return. I would rate this business as ZERO stars if that was an option.Services: Exhaust, Brakes, Oil change

Asked them to do a rush on a "as is" vehicleI was looking to purchase. They got my car in, did a prepurchase inspection and let me know what was going on. There were some minor issues. I was able to negotiate with the seller.I felt better knowing I was buying something without major issues. Awesome job!

I took my car here a couple days ago because it wouldn t start they did the diagnostic test and said the battery failed I asked are the 100% sure before I pay for a new battery they said yes so I paid 189 for a battery and 299 total for labor and everything I picked my car up is was running 2 days later same issue so now that s 300 dollars wasted and I still have the same issue poor service the don t check to see what s actually wrong with your car they us see what s a quick fix to get you going and easy money in there pocket smh I will never recommend them to anyone!!!!Service: General repairs & maintenance

Took my 2011 kia in today for a noise they called and said back brakes I said fix it like I always do because I trust them went to pick up car and same noise needed new struts and spring was broke which gashing my tire im sorry but that should have . Fixed before bakes they apologize the point is 1400 hundred later seems like thay were in to much of a hurry Im so sad I loved shawsService: Brakes

This is Automotive Sales place prices to me or that decent and the cars weren't either that really wasn't the biggest issue biggest issue was they made me feel like they were doing me a favor when I went to go get a vehicle was complete turn off I really do have quite a few cars in and look at if you can get past at least individual I spoke to he was kind of straightforward and a little bit rude in my opinion I don't want to base my suggestions are just one visit I haven't heard anything bad about the place so I would say swing by they might have the car you looking for

Best price in town.My truck takes 8qts of synthetic and has to haveca skid plate removed to acess the oil filter. 49.00 out the door.
