This was my first time using Portage Lakes Automotive. Wasn't really sure where to take my car. So I really relied on reviews in my search. I was not disappointed at all with my decision to try them. Both Nellie and Rob we're fantastic! Extremely kind and helpful! They worked with my insurance and did an excellent job! I will definitely go back to them for service and/or tires. I really do recommend them!

I've had my vehicles serviced @ PLA more than twenty years. I don't allow anyone else to look at me car. When you have a great mechanic you don't mess with a middleman. Rob Antulis always keeps my train rolling efficiantly & Nelly explains in depth what needs taken care of, why, when, and how (much $).The service provided me at Portage Lakes Auto, is always top notch. I keep up on oil changes, brakes, safety and, regular maintenance. I highly recommend Portage Lakes Auto Repair. Nellie was awesome and explained everything that needed done, 4 new tires, brakes and pads.Kudos to Kevin who did a great job. My car has never run so smoothly. The price was more than fair and I will not go anywhere else for service

Have been using this place for years. They are honest as the day is long, do great work and prices are fair. Nellie who answers the phone and takes the appointments is knowledgeable and always has a great personality. I moved out of the Lakes a few years ago near the Falls, I still go here, and won t go anywhere else.

Husbands work car had leaking break lines. Our usual mechanic wouldn t take on the job so we came here. They were quick with diagnosis, had excellent customer service. I didn t encounter a single rude person which was very refreshing. Communication was top tier with text updates and links to my invoice. After the nightmare of having to work with a local Ford dealer (for a recall issue only), Portage Lakes Automotive rescued me. They are professional, efficient, and honest. It can be challenging to find a trustworthy mechanic. Look no further. I went to another shop and was given an extremely high repair quote. I went to Portage Lakes repair and they advised the recommended repair was no necessary. They save me quite a bit of money. Edit to Original: They punctured my tire or broke a TPMS sensor. I am not yet sure which. The owner's response is odd. I have a receipt that shows the pricing and exactly what took place. It isn't what he claims...-- Original Review:My Honda's rear camber alignment is off by -2 degrees and there is no OEM adjustment option, so I need camber arms. The problem is, I was quoted $900 for parts and service, and was explicitly told that "these parts can't be found online, at shops like Honda part dealers. We have to order them direct".So I go home, look them up, and lo and behold, I find a set for $180 OTD, or up to $380. Service to install at a different location? $400 WITH another alignment. So over $300 less than quoted here or about even with the other set of camber arms. I was not happy, to say the least.Additionally, I was told I would be charged for a four wheel alignment, and I was... for a two wheel front-only alignment. Ridiculous.Oh and look, my TPMS light is on now after their tire rotation and it s definitely not a false. Woo!

Recommended by all of my coworkers and I have to agree, this garage is amazing. Communication was precise and often which is something that sometimes never happens at "big box" repair shops. I was worried since my car is so old that parts would be an issue to an extent. Nope, alternator was replaced within a day. Brought my truck in on a Thursday for a Friday appointment and they diagnosed my problems on Thursday and had my truck ready by noon on Friday. Was riding very rough.Had brakes and rotors replaced, rearshocks, front struts and stabilizer bars replaced. Now it rides like new! Good price for all the work, could not be happier with the results. my first time going here recently and it was a great experience. I had taken my car to two other mechanics and they could not diagnose the issue with my car but this place called me the same day found the issue , fixed it and had it back to me by the next day. I recommend this to anyone who wants there car fixed right and timely. the people there are also so nice! I will definitely be taken all my cars here for now on!

Always have a pleasurable experience when having service done here. Fast, friendly, and knowledgeable is just the tip of the iceberg here! All summer long I would see tons of classic cars there, and if you know "car" guys, you know they wont let just anyone work on their pride and joy. Honestly thats what brought me there, and have had nothing but good experiences ever since!
