We love our new Thor Tranquility 19P. Scott, or Barny as his coworkers called him, was our sales rep and he did a wonderful job of guiding us through the process and landed the price we wanted to pay for our vehicle. The folks in Akron were straight shooters and took care of us from start to finish. If your in the market for an RV, I highly recommend Scott and Camping World of Akron

Our experience at Camping World was top notch. Our salesman was Fred. He was very knowledgable about the campers he showed us. He only showed us campers with the features that we asked for. Bill Vaughn did the show through. He was very informative, giving us important information on maintenance and upkeep. Everyone that we came in contact with was professional and personable.

Recently purchased a Keystone Springdale Mini Classic and could not be more happy with the camper itself and the purchasing process! Everyone we encountered was excellent - Bob Gray in Sales, Bill Vagun on our camper walk through and Andrew Baker with the camper hitch set up, the gentlemen in Finance, and our walk through the store. We are super excited to use it here in the next few weeks! Great team to buy from!!

We had a great experience with Andrew Henry from the first call in early February to the one this week in March. He took better care of us than anyone ever has when buying a camper. Bill did a great job during our walk through and addressed all of our questions. Would we buy here again, yes we would.

Our salesman Mark and gentlemen who conducted the entire walk around Bill Vaughn, did an awesome job. We showed up latter in the day and they still spent as much time as we needed to review all the bells and whistles. The entire experience was very nice. All of the staff take pride in their respective roles within the Dealership. My only thought on what could be different is all the EXTRA Stuff you need before you pull out. Our salesman did make it clear we would need a hitch and brake controller before we signed. To be fair, you will know the cost of everything before you sign. I get it, I m a Business man also, but still think they could be more transparent concerning necessary equipment needed. Count on at least extra $3000 on top of the agreed price. Car dealerships do the same thing and I guess it is part of the process of any luxury buying process. The $3000 is only my cost and could vary for other buyers. Having this RV was crucial to my Business I own and also was a dream and blessing I asked for from my Father. I m very thankful and will not hesitate to do business with Camping World again. I wish the entire team a blessed and very Merry Christmas, and my wife and I are thankful for Mark, Bill, and Mr. Hatfield for going through the process with us.

We stopped in to the Akron Camping World. The staff was attentive without being overbearing. The merchandise department went above and beyond to help us purchase a new RV mattress and helped with disposal of the old mattress. 10/10

Andrew in sales is an amazing guy! He went above and beyond to get us our unit, on time! Helped me shop to get what was necessary before we left, and has assisted with some service issues. This was not just a simple phone call to buy and pass off to finance. Andrew has went behind the scenes, to ensure we had what we wanted, and weren t inconvenienced. 10/10 Andrew- you give camping world a positive experience for buying and owning.

I just purchased a trailer/camper from Camping World of Akron. It was a very good experience and that was in a big way, due to our excellent salesperson, Derek Fraser. He was extremely knowledgeable about our unit and about Camping World policies. He made the process easy, connecting us to the right team members for financing, walk-through, etc. This level of customer service is no longer the norm in our world these days. We would also like to thank Jim Hatfield for getting our financing together and helping us get to our desired payment, to Bill Vaughan for our walkthrough and sharing his knowledge, and to all that helped, the front desk people, Jeff(can t remember his last name) for getting the right person to answer a question, for Brian, the store manager, ! We so appreciate everyone s kindness and helpful attitude. I am sure we will do business with you again and will share our success with others!Nancy Paul

Would give 0 stars if possible for our experience. We spoke with consignment officer Rick, and were initially offered $11k for our travel trailer. After making the 2 hour (one way) trip to the Akron Camping World location, we did the walkthrough and were beginning to do the paperwork, when he happened (We think purposely) to realize that he had input the wrong date of our model in his estimate. He then blamed my husband for giving him the incorrect year over the phone which he did not.Rick then proceeded to go back out with his manager and re-assess the camper, only to come back with an $8k offer, and stated there would be no hard feelings if we didn t want to go that low. Obviously we didn t agree to the new terms, and walked away because we had received an offer for $9k from another dealer. My husband then asked if they would honor the commercial he had heard on the radio stating that Camping World would beat any offer or give you $1000, only to be told that it would be pretty much impossible as there were many hoops to jump through.Long story short we will NEVER give camping world our business, and would caution others to think twice before spending your hard earned money there.

We just purchased a toy hauler from Camping World in Akron, OH. Bill Vaughn did a amazing job explaining everything about our new rv. He stayed late and made sure we were set for safe travels back 7 hours home. Jim "Hatty" Hatfield and Scott were both outstanding making the purchase seamlessly. It was very worth the trip. Thank you.

We went there to see a Deisel RV. The RV was filthy. We couldn't start it to hear the generator or anything else because the batteries were dead, and it had very little gas. The gas was enough for a test drive and was the most bumpy ride we ever had. It was supposed to have an air ride package, but it seemed like it was working either. ! Also, the front window was leaking, and the person that traded it in put some kind of thick epoxy around the windshield and all the lights on outside. Camping world didn't fix that to make the RV more appealing (that's a lot of money to fix that alone, not including everything else. And they wanted almost 60k.... VERY DISAPPOINTING! We drove over an hour to see this. Smfh!

My husband and I have never bought an RV. The moment we entered the showroom Fred Montz was there to take care of us. Then Bill Vaughn spent 2 hrs going over everything we needed to know about our RV. The ends and outs, what works well and what didn't. I am extremely please with our experience at Camping World of Akron. I would recommend it.

We are from Illinois and found a camper online that was exactly what we wanted for a great price so we decided to make the 6hr trip to get it. Scott helped us set up an appointment time and coordinated things for our arrival. We were late for our appointment and were not properly prepared, with 2 bassett hounds along for the ride. Despite everything that we got wrong everyone was kind, friendly and helpful. Bill Vaughan explained everything about the camper in detail right down to the light switches. He even stayed late to make sure that we were hooked up properly and safe to make the long trip home. Jim Hatfield moved us through the paperwork quickly and was patient with the dogs sniffing around his office. I am extremely appreciative of the care and service from everyone involved with the purchase of the camper. The dogs appreciate all the pets from new friends!

I recently had a problem with my 5th wheel cover that we purchased 3 yrs ago and bought the warranty for. I returned it and they had to search for a new one from another store. They found one but it was torn. They had no way of knowing that because it was in a box that was supposed to be new. We didn't see it until after we had already winterized it and put it on. So I called them and explained what happened and they had the manager Brittany call me back. She very promptly handled everything for me. No arguing and wasting my time going back and forth with the manufacturer. I can't say enough about how wonderful the camping store is. But most of all great customer service!! They are dog friendly there too. All the employees are friendly and personable. Great job Camping World!!

Refuse to take back a part that their parts department incorrectly sold. Even said when ordered the part, as long as you don't install it, it can be returned and now says it can't be returned. Guess their practice is to lie to customers so they can get a sale.

Its not possible to give 0. Check out the BBB complaints if you think im wrong. Took my camper in for warranty work, no contact from advisors during the process, or any communication. Finally get the camper back to find out i owe $340 for diagnostics that they ran without my permission. Got the camper, took it home to find one of the interior doors hanging on by one wheel, its winter so its winterized so no power, they left the battery on which killed my battery and didnt prop the fridge back open so now theres mold growing in there, half my stuff was all over the camper like they took zero care of it. Now i cannot get Todd (higher manager) to even return a phone call. They were also suppose to buff out the black streaks on the outside which they didnt do while having it for 8 weeks. You couldnt pay me to take my camper back there and now im out $340 plus stuff that I will need to fix. Absolutely horrible experience. -15/10

I waited a few months to make this review to abate my emotions.I would advise to not go here. Go to any place that offers a grace period post-purchase (e.g., Streetsboro)I purchased a Travel Trailer for over 17K (10K actual value). 4 days after purchase, my mother had a severe medical episode. I couldn't keep the trailer since I had to move in with her to be her caregiver, and you cant fit a Travel trailer in an apartment.Camping World took advantage of this situation. They refused to offer me anything more than $8500 (50%). I tried to sell it elsewhere, but could not store it for longer than a week. The trailer was absolutely mint. Perfect, like new, condition.I fully informed them that due to a family emergency I would have to relinquish the trailer. They did not care. Park Bank helped me. Camping World did not help me in any way. They even charged me a $200 pickup fee to come get the trailer. Then, they had the nerve to hassle me to contact the bank to release the title. Absolutely zero compassion, but bravo on the ruthless capitalism. A real boon for them, they get to sell a trailer twice.I cant say how disappointing it is that Camping World saw my tragedy and decided to take full advantage. I have since learned that there are other (3) dealers near and around them (within 25 mile radius), whom all offer differing grace periods from 3-7 days after purchase to "undo" that sale if undamaged.I recommend you go to one of them.Update: 3/10/2024Just saw the reply. Liars. I did not "compare" them to other offers before "deciding to go with [their] Akron location." I looked at other sellers AFTER Camping World refused to offer me anything other than 50% of paid value. 3 of their competitors offered grace periods to undo the loan AFTER purchase. Camping World has no grace period. If Camping World wants to assist me, you can offer me more money than the 50% you gave, so it might lessen the 13K debt I incurred to take care of my Mom.

January 10th I had service appointment for warranty repairs at 11am in which water pump was being replaced, pressure switch for hot water tank replaced because there was a water leak and I was having a onboard compressor installed in which I had ordered separately to be installed at the same time. I had checked in with parts (kaylee)to make sure the service team had the compressor and that they were aware of installing that as well. After 4pm my unit was driven out and I had asked the driver if he could show me where was the compressor located and he said he didn't kmow and I needed to speak to someone in service. After talking with service it became evident that I was straight up lied to by the parts team member (kaylee). At that time I was upset and decided I just wanted the compressor in which I had paid for and refunded for labor cost since it wasn't installed. The parts department was closed at that time and service members couldn't locate my parts so I decided I would have to return after my trip. I had pulled out of camping world's parking lot approx 4:55pm just 5min from closing time. Before getting on freeway to begin my Journey I had stopped at gas station and as I was fueling I turned on the water pump and it had proceeded to function without opening any valves. I then immediately knew something wasn't right and noticed water leaking out of the hot water tanks compartment. I immediately called service to notify them it wasn't fixed because I was afraid that they would acuse me of having water in the tank in freezing temperatures. However, i wasn't successful upon getting ahold of anyone since it was after hrs. At that time it was in the low 40s and i was driving south all night so I would not at all be in freezing temperatures during the night or next day etc. I called service next morning and had spoken with (Mary) service advisor and was told to bring it in as soon as I had return and they would take care of it. My return trip I had driven in the rain for 2 days straight and got home the slide at stopped working as I was extending it and was stuck 2-3" The control box had gotten wet because nobody builds better then Thor! Upon returning to service at camping world everything had changed, they were holding me responsible for the water leak and accusing me of having water in tank during freezing temperatures. I told them once again that it was leaking before and after it was serviced but nobody believed me. After going around and around with corporate office and service members at camping world and getting nowhere with this debate I decided to leave this review. Hopefully they have a change of heart and do Whats right and fix these issues correctly and not charge me for anything I shouldn't be responsible for! Maybe then I'll have a change of heart too about editing my review! For those of you that took all this time reading this entire review- "I had nothing but issues with purchasing this unit manufacturered by Thor! Everything from A-Z has been needing service and repairs. I had purchased unit brand new and took delivery of it January 2023 and it had been in and out of service from day one! The camping world in which is currently being serviced has been trying to get me to trade it in for a different manufacturer because even they know that Thor has terrible quality control especially anything manufacturered during the pandemic in which mine was! I own a tree business for last 30yrs, I have many trucks and equipment and never in my life have I experienced such non ending issues with one thing! I signed my life away and work very hard for this purchase and I just want to beable to enjoy it! I have never been so regretful as what I feel about this purchase and if I could go back in time and undo it I would in a heartbeat. I'll don't want to loose so much trading it in because thats where I am now presently. Anyone looking to purchase rv? DO YOUR RESEARCH AND TALK TO OTHER OWNERS! Becareful with dealers

I bought a new RV and had a walkthrough with Bill V. Bill went way too fast and talked even faster. For a new RV owner, this isn t the way a walkthrough should go. Don t get me wrong, he was a nice guy, just needs to slow down. A few disappointments I d like to share. One of the most important features for a new owner of a 32 foot RV is the backup camera. I was told to scan the bar code on the camera with my phone and it will connect up. Not true. You first need to download the LCI RV app, create an account, sign in, add your RV VIN#, search for it, connect to it and then scan the barcode. Problem is that the app is horrible and doesn t work. It couldn t find my RV and couldn t connect to the camera. I even repeated the process and entered all of the data manually. Still didn t work. Btw, the help phone line isn t open on the weekends. I ll probably just buy a camera from Amazon. I was also told that you can stream movies, music and TV from your phone to the LCD TV that is in the RV. Not true. The TV doesn t have Bluetooth capability and any HDMI cables you purchase won t allow streaming from subscription services like Netflix, Prime and Hulu. The tech that was supposed to educate me on hooking up my truck to the RV didn t know how to properly disengage the sway bars when unhooking trailer. They installed a break assist system in my truck that instantly fell off because it was mounted too close to the door. It was also upside down. I also wasn t showed how to use the break assist. I re mounted it myself and tried to figure out the instructions left on my seat when I got home. Other than that, we like ve the camper!

I go in thinking about camping life and I didn t meet a single salesman. I met all friends. I can say Sean Sims isn t just my guy at Camping World but a good friend. I can call him with whatever I need about my 30 bumper puller. He s so smart. Telling me about National Parks RV limits to the simple things like slide outs and set up. He s the Camper Guru. VISIT SEAN and get your home on wheels! He made it the best experience!

If only I could give a 0 star rating... The salesmen are nice, the guys in finance are very personable, the service department is deplorable. Absolutely the most rude representatives I've ever had to deal with. They are so rude in fact, that I spend months trying to decide if I want to live with the things that are broken in my camper, just so I dont have to deal with them. My first winter service appointment, they conned me into cleaning and sealing the roof. When I picked it up in the spring, it had been sealed, but never cleaned. There were literally muddy boot prints and leaves under the sealant. They basically called me a liar on the phone and told me "you dont know what youre talking about"..They took it back, washed the roof and resealed it, reluctantly. When I went back to pick it up, all of the sludge and grime from the roof was covering all the sides of the camper. I brought that to their attention, at which point they assured me it would be taken care of, and came back some days later to get it and they LOST MY CAMPER.. After several hrs, and when their delivery driver finished lunch, my unit was brought to me at the main lot. Still covered in black sludge from the roof... I washed it myself.. Most recent service appointment, and what I'm dealing with currently... I had a list of about a dozen things that were broken and should have been covered by the warranty. Upon scheduling pickup, they drop a 500$ service bill on me for "diagnostics" 4 of the 5 diagnostic charges were things not covered by the warranty that they didn't even fixSeveral times during drop off and even before I scheduled drop off, whilst on the phone with them, I made it very clear, if it's not covered by warranty, do not run diagnostics. I even asked them if it would be a problem calling me and letting me know what's not covered and if that was going to be a problem, please tell me and I will take it home now.. "no problem, we have it noted and a rep will call you before any work is done". No call.. just a 500$ bill for work they didn't even do. Honestly someone explain to me how that is not theft? They are billing for items they put literally zero work into. If anyone is considering buying a camper, that is working class and dosnt have ridiculous amounts of money to throw around for nothing, DO NOT BUY ONE FROM HERE. Crooks. Rude. The WORST. If I could take back any one moment of my entire life, it would be the day I purchased a camper from Camping World... No exaggeration..

I just bought my first camper thru camping world and 5 stars isn't enough for how great they was during our whole purchase. They wasn't worried about pressing the sale they was more focused on making sure me and my wife was happy with our purchase. Jeff Hurd went above and beyond what he needed to do as our sales rep. And Jim Hatfield was an amazing finance manager. They always picked up the phone an answered any questions I had and never rushed me off the phone. Paper work took less than 10 minuets to complete. There just isn't enough I can say about this business. I will forever be a camping world customer

Called location to make sure they filled propane tanks and inquired about pricing. The customer service agent stated that they indeed did and referenced the price. I followed up with stating, "I can't believe it's already 4.30. How much time do I have to make it up there? They stated 6! I jumped in my truck and drove in the horrible weather. 20 min took me till little after 5 to get there. I called the store upon arrival and asked if I should use the service entrance or the main they said it didn't matter. I saw the fill station not far from the service entrance, and since it's a 100# tank, I opted to park there and went in. There were 3 or 4 individuals behind the service counter talking amongst themselves as I walked up to the service counter and patiently waited for someone to acknowledge my presence. This took about 2 min with no other customers there to assist. I stated that I needed a propane fill. They said I would have to go to the front registers and pay there? OK, but if you sell propane by the gallon, wouldn't you need to know how much I was going to purchase in the first place to charge me? Without any direction as to where I was supposed to actually go, they simply resumed chatting amongst themselves, And I was left to go hunt down the main store registers. I found the registers and approached the lady working there and stated that I needed to pay for a propane refill and that the people in the service department told me to come pay for it first here. She said well how much did they say it was? I stated I was unsure it was 100# cylinder. Her response was OK, and she would just go check with them real quick. I was left at the counter for approximately five minutes. Finally, upon her return, she asked if it was a carry cylinder? I stated it's a portable cylinder strapped to a dolly. She then proceeded to tell me she was the only one in the store and being so she was unable to go outside to fill my propane tank. Seriously! Like the weather was rough with a decent distance to travel to just so I could temporarily heat my shop until my part for the furnace came in. Being that I own my own business and take pride in my work and my word, I needed a way to continue repairing my customers' vehicles and equipment in a timely fashion as I had promised them. Thus, I was left with the need for propane. How was she possibly the only one in the store when there were 3 people standing in the back that were doing nothing? And why would you not mention this when I called at 4.30? Why would you not mention this when I called to ask what door to use and where should i leave the tank to be filled? She apologized in a very seemingly unapologetic tone and told me to have a good evening. How could I possibly do that when i'm here working in the bitter cold simply because I take great pride in keeping my customers satisfied? It keeps them coming back! I firmly believe she just didn't wanna come out in the cold to fill it! As I have purchased a camper from here in the past spending a considerable amount of money in the process I recaled that time I also left with a sense that they really could careless about there customers or there satisfaction. It was almost as if I was more of an annoyance to the salesman than a potential customer looking to spend his hard earned money. With these two extremely poor experiences in mind, I really doubt i would conduct business with them again. I honestly would implore you to seek and consider other alternatives for your needs as well!

Salesmen made comments to another salesman and I overhead called them out and of course would not admit. But the story kept changing what he or the other camping world employee actually said . But neither one realized I stepped outside of his office and heard the comment clear as day . We was going to finish the deal and buy a camper till this situation happened . Walked out and will be buying a camper elsewhere .He evern went to the manager before we walked out and the manager didn't even have the courtesy to come and hear the situation . Very poor management

I just recently purchased an RV from Michael Scheks and I couldn t be happier. Not only was he extremely friendly but he was a huge help with the whole process and made everything so smooth for me. Even when some issues arose, he took care of everything himself and helped me out immensely. If you re looking to buy an RV/trailer, I couldn t recommend Michael enough. He won t let you down. If they had zero stars, that would be more appropriate. I bought a Mercedes Sprinter Camper van that was less than a week old. The air conditioning and the outlets were not working for some reason. I explained I was out here from Massachusetts with my two pups. The Golden Retriever was having a difficult time without the AC and could they take a quick look to see if it was something easy since it seemed reasonable to assume that a brand new van was unlikely to have something major. They claimed they were booked and could not spare a few minutes but could book an appointment 4 days later. The Pups would most likely have died from heat exhaustion by then. I made the appointment because I did not have any other choice. I did end up calling Good Sam tech support, Camping World had given me the wrong number, but luckily I found the right number in my paperwork and a 10 second fix was found. When I went in to cancel the appointment the same representative was booking an appointment for 3 pm That day!!!! They were totally unhelpful and not even sympathetic to the plight of the dogs. I rarely put up reviews, but this was so blatantly wrong, I decided to put it up.
