We both enjoyed the jazz bar and the restaurant offerings. The rooms are clean and well taken care of. An art deco vibe meets today type presentation. The staff are friendly and courteous going out of their way to help guest and make them feel at home away from home.Walkability: Central to downtown venues and access to public transportation.Food & drinks: Unique food menu and drinksNoteworthy details: Live music in the Jazz bar

One of the best value for the money hotels I ve stayed at. Rooms are nice, beds extremely comfortable, great service, easy parking access. Only downside is lower floors may be a little loud due to proximity to the Main Street. I moved to the 8th floor and it improved drastically

As someone who rarely has time for reviews, I would be remiss if I failed to write one for this amazing restaurant and hotel. From the second I stepped into the restaurant, Bryan greeted me with a courteous air of warmth and professionalism that most in the service industry could learn from. After couple of great recommendations as per drinks and dinner ( don't go farther than medium rare for the medallions) , Bryan treated me to top-notch service, bringing out a meal - no, a dining experience, that I would have to rate in the top 3 of all time! Some great tasting local coffee to go with obscenely rich peanut butter brownies, with the absolutely perfect touch of raspberry on the plate, and I was in culinary heaven!Rhiannon at the front desk was warm and welcoming, even going so far as to offer a lighter when I had forgotten mine.If you ever have a chance to dine or stay here, by all means do it, you won't be disappointed!

When we arrived at Blu it was pouring rain. There s no coverage at the entrance of the hotel to protect you from the elements. For this reason and the parking I didn t give the hotel five stars. You have to drive around the corner to the back of the hotel to access the garage. Once inside the garage you have to follow the hotel signs all the way down to the very LAST level and walk through the uncovered courtyard to access the building. This sucks when the weather is bad.Parking fees are interesting. There is not an in and out options that makes sense. You can pay $7 for a voucher every time you leave or you can pay $7 at the gate every time you leave. It s a distinction without a difference and the older gentleman at the gate collecting the money gives the impression that greetings and smiling isn t a part of his job description. Bless his heart;-) But, I love the hotel itself.Blu, converted from a bank to a hotel has a metropolis feel to it. The hotel has a charming retro chic style, and I love it. Walking down the hall you feel the presence of the past. I kept imagining Clark Clint and Lois Lane working in a building like this sporting vintage fedoras. Our room was small, but adequate, and the attentiveness and quick response of the staff is noticeable. Our safe wasn t working in our room and before I could hang up the phone maintenance was knocking at the door to fix it. We didn t have a do not disturb sign for our door. I ask a housekeeper for one and she eagerly provided one and a few bottles of water(free). It was refreshing to communicate with a staff that was pleasant, kind, and understood my needs.Another little gem about Blu is downtown Akron is in a revitalization process. There are limited stores and restaurants nearby but the onsite restaurants serves some surprisingly good food. The crab appetizer, duck egg rolls, flatbread, and desserts were decent.

The hotel is cool. The staff was nice enough. The windows are paper thin. You can hear every car drive down the street..Any car with bad exhaust will rattle your brain.Don't plan on sleeping if you are a light sleeper. We left at ten pm and went home. What a waste of $200

I ve stayed at this hotel twice now with my wife. The rooms are immaculate and the staff is accommodating. The lobby is an old style federal bank kind of converted into a hotel kind of into a blues hotel with a piano bar. REALLY COOL!Walkability: Restaurants and activitiesNoteworthy details: Went to see a local concert

I recently had a stay at Akron's BLU-Tique over the holidays and it was an overall fantastic visit! From the beginning, working with Bob in sales was a great experience. He's very professional and did everything he could to make this experience awesome for us We ended up staying in a Presidential suite on the top floor. The pictures speak for themselves... it's really a spacious, comfortable suite. Two bathrooms, two TV's, cozy bed (couch that also folds out to a bed if needed), spacious kitchen... And unlike some other places this hotel has a nice big bathtub in addition to a separate shower! The building has history and they do a lot of music events here too I hear, though I didn't come on one of those nights. There's also breakfast on site but we ate at another restaurant within walking distance so I can't speak to the restaurant at the hotel.

Just a word of caution if you book a room through a third party site, like Expedia. This hotel will charge you for the room rate on your credit card even though they acknowledge receiving payment from the third party site. I called multiple times to resolve this and received no call back to explain that they received their payment from Expedia and that my credit card should not have been charged by the hotel. Their customer service is poor and very unresponsive to this matter.

The room was just shy of being a matchbook, very small and outdated. Patio furniture was very worn too. The hotel was centrally located to all of our events, so we stayed and we had a nice view. However, there is no complimentary breakfast or even a free coffee station. The parking is horrendous in that you have to literally drive underground to get to the entrance. Then you must walk across the courtyard to get into the hotel. Mind you, it's not a covered walk, so good luck with bad weather and hauling luggage. Very disappointing considering the price.Rooms: Old and small

My wife and I have had cocktails in the lounge before, but it took us until recently to realize this was a Marriott property! We had an impromptu overnight stay, just for fun, and this hotel is gorgeous! The lobby and the lounge are so beautiful and comfortable! I can't believe we didn't get any pictures of the room! Big windows and high ceilings, the entire building is gorgeous. Great mid century vibe throughout!! We decided to have ourselves a cocktail for Breakfast, and Brian came through in the clutch!! He was very personable and took great care of us!! There was also a woman working the breakfast that popped over and chatted, I feel terrible for forgetting her name. It's her birthday tomorrow! Go buy her a drink! Ha!

This hotel is BEAUTIFUL! Every employee was incredibly kind. The bar/restaurant was delicious. I suggest the waffles for breakfast. Parking was easy to find. The room had the perfect amount of amenities and a decent view. Bed was comfy. Perfect for late night door dashing. We came for a game that was a short 13 minute walk up the road to Canal Park. Doors stayed locked for safety & we definitely felt safe.

We stayed at the BluTique for our wedding weekend and wouldn t have wanted to stay anywhere else! We were between the BluTique and the Courtyard down the street and I m so happy we went with the BluTique! They were SO accommodating and helpful in setting up our room block and making sure we had all of the accommodations needed the whole weekend. Everyone was so friendly, the drinks were amazing, and the breakfast was phenomenal! I can t say enough good things. The BluTique is an Akron gem and if you are considering staying there on your wedding weekend - let this be your sign to go for it! Thank you BluTique staff for EVERYTHING! Our wedding weekend would not have been the same without everyone there!

Great hotel and amazing service. The location in downtown Akron makes everything walkable. Plenty of attractions nearby. Parking was available either free or in a municipal garage at a low daily rate. The guest rooms were unique in design compared to others in the same hotel brand. The shower was well designed. The big picture window elevates the experience with the amount of light. The GM was the best. New to the brand. My car battery died and he was prompt to give me a jump from his own vehicle. The friendliness and attention of the staff throughout the brand makes it my go to stay.

A second weekend getaway did not disappoint. Both times our rooms were lovely and the decor overall is thoughtfully both historic and modern. Denise at the front-desk is very warm and professional. Cello, our breakfast server, is like having a your own White House butler. The dining room is truly lovely with corner windows, upscale furnishings, and table scapes in keeping with the overall feel. We combined our stay with a visit to the jazz club across the street. Great combo (pun intended)!

We stayed here during a long, cross country try drive. I m a Marriott platinum member and was upgraded to a beautiful corner suite before we even arrived. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious. Every staff person we came in contact with was friendly, helpful & knowledgeable. (Especially the breakfast staff.) We enjoyed the continental breakfast more than we should have. The fresh brewed coffee was fantastic, the fruit was amazingly fresh and the pastries were smaller (I don t feel like I just ate a brick of lead size) and not overly sweet. It s my new stopping point when I m in this area.

Would ve been a 5 star review without the Sunday morning staff. Upon check-in, the young lady who greeted me was friendly, helpful, and cheerful. She offered me points or breakfast. I opted for breakfast. The room was spectacular, clean, beautiful views, and comfortable.Location is amazing and I was able to walk around downtown for a couple of hours.Would definitely stay here again.I would opt out of the breakfast on the weekends. It is advertised as 7 am to 10 am. I got down there just after 7 am. Some of it was ready and some wasn t. Maybe it was just that morning and things happened out of their control, but the servers and management did not seem ready for the breakfast bar.The morning staff did not seem friendly or overly welcoming. No one really greeted me or said good morning. The overall experience was great and I would stay again. But I would go to a local restaurant to get breakfast and better service.

Huge shoutout to Michelle (nightshift hotel leader) for going above and beyond last night for me! This is my go-to hotel when I'm in Akron & we had a small issue last night that she was able to immediately remedy. At 11:30 she helped me with getting all new linens & even came to the room to help me switch them out. She is the MVP of this visit, FOR SURE!April from housekeeping -- I cannot say enough good things about April. She is wonderful. Rooms are always beautiful & her personalized notes are a very nice touch. She definitely goes above & beyond for the hotel. Many thanks also to Shawn at the Bar! Shawn always keeps my diet pepsi flowing and keeps the bar/restaurant laughing! Great conversations & very kind gentlemen. Additionally, Sam is a rockstar! I always know when Shawn & Sam are working I'm in good hands.Lastly, but certainly not least -- Ty at the front desk is incredible! She has the most bubbly & upbeat personality. She's so kind & after a LONG day of travel, she's exactly the type of lovely human you want to encounter upon first arriving to the hotel!Frank has a stellar team at this hotel -- definitely my go-to every time I'm in town.THANKS!

Lovely hotel in a beautifully restored building! We just spent the weekend in this hotel and our stay was relaxing, comfortable, and pleasant! We loved being able to easily walk to restaurants both nights. It is great to leave the car parked in the garage and walk! We loved ending both nights with drinks at the hotel bar. I highly recommend this hotel!

I would highly recommend this hotel and will stay here every time we are in the area. This hotel is beautifully done and the staff were friendly and helpful. Parking is conveniently located as well as the hotel. It was nice to park in the garage and walk to restaurants as well as the baseball park. Rooms were large, clean, and comfortable. The fitness center was well appointed and it was nice to end our nights with a drink at the hotel bar.

Pay for parking, but the garage is not far from the hotel. Room was spacious, bed was comfortable. The lowest part of the shower floor had no drain so you ended up just standing in a pool of gross water. The shower curtain wasn't very good at keeping the water inside the shower so it was all wet in the bathroom. There were not enough towels or any extra toilet paper, so it had to be requested. Other than the bathroom, the stay was fine.

Where do I start im flying in from Las Vegas for a wedding on September 16, 2023. Check in wasn't until 3pm but the wedding started at 3pm, so I tried to call to get a early check-in the hotel phones were down. Then I found a place to change from our flight clothes to the wedding attire. Made it to the wedding. The two hours in-between for the wedding party to take pictures I went to the hotel to try to check-in. When I got there the host was very rude and I pre-paid for a king bed $171.73 before time on my credit card. The host insisted I leave a card with the front desk, She advised me that no more money would be charged to me. Lies the hotel charged my debit card another $201.15 .... Went upstairs the room was a queen bed and I paid for a king. The room was so small like a closet I said no way you in total going to charge me all together $371.15 for a room for one night double charges no... I wasn't in the room 30mins went back down to complain about my card being charged again for something I pre-paid fir and I got a queen bed instead of a king host was so rude the worst service ever!!! She claimed she could fix the matter I just requested all my money back and asked for her to cancel all reservations right there same day of the wedding during cotail hour before the wedding reception. With no where to stay at this point and I'm 2100 hundred miles from home along with my mom who is 74 and tired. We took all aer things back down stairs as I proceeded to agure with the host about returning my money in which she claimed she did but that's not true because I called the bank. We go to the reception was nice tried 4 hotels all full now almost 1am in the morning running off 3hours of sleep with no where to stay. I have family in cleveland in which I had to drive there 40 minutes away to stay over night so we could get up for are flight next day flying out 5pm that Sunday afternoon so all this in not even 48 hours horrible. At least the wedding was gorgeous but my hotel experience if I could give a zero I would. Now back home and found out from the bank the charge is still sticking on my account and we didn't stay an hour in the hotel!!! I want my money back from this little match box hotel I the bank will proceed to dispute the charges now were at the 18 and they still have my money. There is no corporate number to call and theamager Frank Inganlioni is pose to call me back waiting on him to reverse my charges. Worst experience of all time never again don't stay here!!!!

The rooms, service, and location are amazing! I love these older places, when they keep the integrity of the old building and make a fabulous hotel out of it.However.....you must park in a very sketchy garage in the back of the hotel. Two words...VALET PARKING. The garage charges 7 dollars to park out back. Charge me 27 and call it a day, with a Valet. That rhymes. The manager appeared to liked me until I told him the truth about the poor parking situation, Management did not come by, when I was eating dinner there. This place does extremely well with some things, like their soap shampoo and towels, but did not pay attention to the overall experience. Parking and steps are an issue when carrying bags. Even the entrance is a pain to get into the hotel. I will not be back until changes are made.

Local entertainment!! Went to enjoy jazz on a Thursday night (check summer schedule for offering) and cocktails at the bar in the BLU-Tique hotel. Service was excellent and space is comfortable, bright and chic. Recommend trying some of the dishes from the restaurant menu. Park in the public parking garage around the corner (across from art museum). $2 charge for time 6-8.Walkability: Great location to have a drink or food and walk to activities at museum or downtown AkronFood & drinks: Great bar. Excellent service. Fair prices for a "hotel" environment.
