I contacted Al about an engine for a 2009 Pontiac Vibe GT, this car has a Toyota 2AZ-FE engine. He took time to meet me on a Sunday at his Sons shop Motor City Garage Al supplied me with a great engine and Dane installed it in less than 4 days at a real good price. The workman ship was phenomenal. I really recommend Al and Dane for any of your repairs.

Japan Direct did superb work replacing my sons transmission on his 01 Honda Accord. They were honest, knowledgeable and no surprises when work was completed. This is his first car and teaching him how importance it is to have good mechanic. They now service all of our cars. I highly recommend them.

I towed a family member car there to get engine swap. The engine that was in the car was purchased from online we was told it had a misfire. So my family member check reviews and called this place. We was so happy with reviews only to find out they must be fake or family members of business owner. They replaced the newly place engine with one of there own, same result mis fire. They found the issue it was a wire. Here is where things get tricky and disrespectful. When asked about the engine that was taken out they replied gone but we will give you a honda engine. They also was told to replace converters. They cut converters up welding it, and not only that applied gasket sealant around the converters. When asked why didn't they call why all of these shade tree actions. The response was that the member car was raggedy. My family member has emails and recipes that shows he was very humble and wanted to be treated fair. Yet he got disrespected. Lied too and horrible service with these guys. Hopefully my cousin sues them in court. I wouldn't recommend anybody going to this place not even for an oil change.

I've regularly had bad experiences with mechanics and engine shops, but this was easily the best experience I've ever had in my life. Al and Dane are amazing at customer service, even when they're busy, and were able to help me with an exact fit for my car even though I didn't know much going in. Eddy, their in-house mechanic, was very knowledgeable and did his work very well. I got my car back running smoothly with no Check Engine light or small secondary problems -- the work was flawless. Above all, the people themselves are very professional and helpful. You can tell they actually want your business. Would recommend to anyone serious about getting a replacement engine for a Honda.

I've been in contact about a JDM Engine for a 2005 Subaru Outback H6. As far as I'm concerned Al has went above and beyond helping me. He has an engine waiting for me. His crew has checked it out and Al has sent photo's of the outside and inside of the bottom of the engine. It looks extremely clean to me. I'm heading from Chesterfield, VA tomorrow to get it. Al even offered to bring the engine to me. He said he has friends near me he could visit. I'm retired and my wife and I would enjoy the roadtrip. After I install it I will leave a follow up review, which I'm confident will be good also.

Al and everyone else in the shop are friendly, professional, and have probably forgotten more about cars than I have ever known. They replaced the engine in my car for half of what the dealership quoted, and were very detailed when explaining exactly what my car needed, the cost of each component, and why they needed to do what they were doing. I'd happily recommend these guys to any of my friends.

Back in October my 14 year old Honda was in need of having its engine replaced. Dane did a fantastic job of giving new life to an old car. They have outstanding service and guaranteed their work Thanks Dane for your genuine kindness.

Japan Direct did an excellent job replacing the motor in my Hyundai Elantra. Dane found a motor with very low miles and kept me updated throughout the entire process. They tested the motor and replaced all the seals before putting it into the car. The whole job was done in less than a week and the price was very reasonable Would highly recommend.

Al & Dane are the best. Unsurpassed knowledge of their products. We will not call another business for Japanese take outs. Quality is outstanding, customer service is even better. Do not hesitate to do business with them.

Talked to the owner for almost 30 mins today discussing an issue and a cost effective solution. His knowledge is incredible. Very friendly and very fair priced. Highly recommend
