They were very nice and did an awesome job taking care of my car! I took it by in the morning and they had it ready for me by the end of the day. They fixed what was wrong and were very responsive over the phone with great communication, which isn t as common as it should be!

Great service ! Most honest shop I have been to in years ! Very nice folks and takes care of the little things most shops never think twice on. Been here twice now with two different vehicles. They went above and beyond .Highly recommend them to everyone I know !

This place is awesome! I popped a tire a few blocks from the shop. I called Benchmark 10 minutes before they closed and asked if I could get some air. They plugged the hole and filled it up for free. In and out in 5 minutes! I really appreciate the help and owe them one.

Terrible experience, constantly being called bugged about when I m picking up the car even though they weren t done with the car ($2k in repairs btw, willing to bet some of them didn t even really have to be done) because when I finally get there to pick the car up I have a bunch of little stupid charges that I never asked for them to do like windshield wipers $20 and it looked like the same wipers when I got the car back, and now the car has a mysterious check engine light that they were trying to charge me more for. So glad I found this place. I took my car here for a diagnostic after a bad experience at another mechanic that left me feeling like the repair I needed done would be exorbitant due to a hard-to-find part. The mechanic who worked on my car at Benchmark was able to quickly come up with a logical creative solution to fix my wheel speed sensor at a decent price. This led me to believe he had a lot of experience and really knows what he's doing. I also appreciated that he let me know that my old tires were in even worse shape than I thought so I can go ahead and get them replaced and avoid a blowout. They prepared a reasonable quote for the tires but since I couldn't afford it outright at the moment and they don't offer financing, the receptionist referred me to Discount Tires, which offers financing, so I can get tires right away. I'm very happy with how they handled everything. l will definitely be a repeat customer.

Benchmark is the best! Great service, plus excellent communication. They always call and let you know what s going on with your vehicle and how long to expect repairs to take. Benchmark is not a good place to get a car form. They cars and bunch of lemon. I got a 2011 cars costing me a arm and a leg and I can't drive it .

Paid to have a transmission flush, only gave me a drain & fill. They were not forthright about their service but charged me more than estimated anyway.Edit after owner response: So you respond to this comment 6 months after I originally posted. You fabricate symptoms and timing of the event. Please, go ahead and post the actual paperwork from this service. Considering December is more than 6 months ago, you clearly can't keep facts straight. Also, the fact that you would rather try to paint a customer in a negative light, 6 months after they posted a comment about unsatisfactory work shows how low of a person you are. Please, find the actual paperwork and post pictures.Service: Transmission

Benchmark has wonderful people working there. I am new to Raleigh, called several places to find what I was looking for and they were on another level of helpfulness. I was looking for a speedometer calibration, which they don't offer (like most places) - BUT they guided me to the right place instead of just saying NO! Highly recommend them based on the way they communicate and help!

Great place to get a car without perfect credit. Also, they offer extended warranty on each vehicle they sell/lease to you. Lately, it has been very difficult to schedule appointments to make sure the vehicle you are buying/leasing is in good shape. Hopefully when I am able to get my vehicle checked out, everything will be alright. Will post a follow-up.

I had suspicion that the issue with my car was the belt. The staff listened to me, a young woman, and answered all my questions about my car respectfully. They fixed it in a timely manner and a reasonable price. They even let me know the status of my brakes and when I would need to expect to get a brake job done. Their service was comprehensive and I would recommend them to anyone seeking fair, trustworthy service for their car in the city!Service: Oil change

I usually try and fix my own car so this was kinda different bringing it to a shop, i was wondering if they d try and up sell anything but boy was I pleasantly surprised. They came to a similar consensus and replaced my spark plugs for 500 bucks total.They definitely knew what they were talking about and it was CRAZY fast, like next day.Totally feel like I trust em

For the past 20 years we have lived in, worked in and called Raleigh our home....all of our cars have been and are still serviced by one of the finest mechanical teams anywhere at Benchmark Autoworks, Davie Street. They are responsible for rebuilding a 95 Escort which still runs and sits outside our home, along with every other car up to and including my '08 Chrysler Town and Country, running sweet and our little Nissan Sentra (which, by the way, we bought from him used), all having been well taken care of by Lou and a great team! I might add that the lady at the front desk knows as much as the others do about the car you bring to them. (She probably can identify the problem for you right there, as well). You will be treated with honestly, integrity and certainly within fair prices. If you want your car done right and pleasantly, I wouldn't recommend any other team of mechanics. I deeply appreciate when they tell me that something needs replaced and/or if lights are out or a system comes up defective on their computers.They have the finest diagnostic systems anywhere. It's amazing because they can pinpoint any problem, OR IF there is one! (I've already suspected a problem, and after test driving the car for what I indicated, they were honest enough to say there WASN'T one!) That also happened when I bought new tires and thought the car would probably need to be aligned as well, Again, Lou said there was no indication the front end needed to be aligned. Honesty and integrity. Can't beat it for home town repairs. Thanks to all of you for taking such good care of our cars, and us, all these years. I recommend them to anyone!

I can recommend this auto repair shop without reservation. Its pricing for the repair that I needed was fair, I believe, for the problems that my car had, and it got the repair done by the same afternoon on which I had brought in my car to it. In addition, the owner of the business let me apply, two days retroactively, a coupon that I had just gotten in the mail the same day of the repair, but which I couldn't use for that same reason that day. I went back two days later and he applied it willingly. This saved me $60 on a repair that cost $515, which I very much appreciate. The next time I have any major car problems, I plan on using Benchmark Autoworks again.Second review: I continue to recommend this auto repair shop highly after getting another major repair there 6 months later. As with the first time, I found the pricing to be honest, fair, and better than other comparable auto repair shops. I especially like the fact that they suggest when certain parts of repairs are not necessary, which therefore saved me lots of money. I had another $60 coupon and they readily applied it without question. I really appreciate having a shop like this around. The clutch in my 370Z was shot. Even in first gear, minor inclines were getting hard to negotiate. The last straw was the petal sticking. I spoke with Christina on the phone, took it in the next day and got a call giving me a detailed description of the problem and a quote within hours. It took longer than expected to fix (only reason 4, not 5 stars), but I cannot stress how happy I am with the work. The car feels new! The shifting is tight and the power is back. Friendly, dependable, excellent work, and well-priced (I checked) - what more can you ask of an auto repair shop?Service: Transmission

Good business is good business and this place is a gem. Have been going to them for years and they don't bamboozle u. They are honest people (ik so crazy). I live all the way in Wilson and if I have a car issue I try to go here or call them first, because good business is hard to find

I dropped my vehicle off here a month ago and and they were very straightforward and honest with me from the get go.They made sure I knew each step before they took it and gave me honest view points on what I should do.Unfortunately the car was a lemon but they made sure i was taken care of, worked with me price wise and guided my next choices to make.I know I'll be using them for any future issues.Service: Engine repair

Came here for a pre purchase car inspection and they were able to squeeze me in on short notice. They were quick and very detailed with their inspection and noticed a transmission leak and other issues that we included in our used car negotiations. The price of the inspection was double other mechanics but it was a Saturday and they were one of the only mechanics open at the time so not sure if prices are different during weekdays, but highly doubt it. Otherwise, highly recommended for the quality of work and great customer service!

This is my son's jeep and now that he's in college the shop we use to take it to is to far away so researched nearby shops and Benchmark Autoworks was the one I chose. Lou was very helpful in the initial conversation and getting the appointment setup. My son dropped it off, Lou called to confirm the diag , provided the estimate and I moved forward with the repair. Finally we made arrangements to have the vehicle picked up after hours. A great experience and its a relief to find a new shop and professional staff!Service: Engine repair

Updating: I did contact them to have my car checked again and everyone was very nice and were willing to fix the issue for free. They deglazed my brakes to see if that fixed the squeak and if not, they told me they would swap out the pads. No squeaks on my way home this evening, so I'm hopeful that solved it. I'm especially appreciative for their willingness to check out/fix any potential issues and follow up/make the job right, without making me feel its somehow my fault (as has happened with other mechanics).I needed my brakes done pretty quickly because they started grinding on my way home from work one evening about a week before Christmas. I found Benchmark and they were super close to my work and were open at convenient times. What stops me from giving 5 stars is the price, which was about $400 for only front brakes. I know the parts aren't that expensive (my dad has done them for me at about $70, however he doesn't live here so that wasn't an option), it doesn't take that long to complete a brake job, and I only got front pads and rotors (I've paid $400 in the past for pads, rotors, and calibers (and I'm pretty sure that was front and back)). I also already am hearing a slight squeak when I'm stopping.I, nor my dad, complained too much about the price because I needed it done quickly, as I commute to work and also would be traveling home for the holidays, so it just was what it was at that point. So for convenience sake, appointment availability, and niceness of the people working there, I'm content with everything, but the price (and potentially the squeak I'm already hearing) is what stops me from raving about them and giving 5 stars.

There may be other good garages in Raleigh, but Benchmark is the only place I ll take my vehicle for service. With fast work and fair pricing, they ve earned my loyalty. They have never gouged me or tried to manipulate me into having unnecessary work performed. They simply do what needs to be done and let you know if there are additional items you should consider on a future visit (and they always provide a quote). Highly recommend you visit them for all your automotive needs!

I was traveling from FL to NC wit my family for NC college tours when my 2005 BMW X5 developed a coolant leak. Benchmark Auto saved our trip. Replaced the water pump same day and kept us on schedule. I have used Benchmark for years on all my cars and and have never had any reservations about their work or pricing. Always honest, reasonably priced and prompt. As a woman, I am alert to how some auto mechanics and businesses may try to take advantage. Never a problem with Benchmark. I recommend them highly.

This is my trusted repair shop in the Raleigh area. You can expect good service at a very fair price. They really look at what you need now and what you will need in the future then are very clear about what fits in which category. This allows a customer to have full knowledge so they can make the best decisions concerning their car. I found them based on good online reviews and they have not let me down.
