Tony Hobbes & Son RV came to our rescue. We were camping in a remote campground from New Bern and after a day s outing, we could not unlock our keypad door lock even though we had the pin and key. After many attempts with no luck, we called Tony Hobbes and he professionally talked my husband through getting the door unlocked. We highly recommend Tony Hobbes & Son RV Service.

These folks fixed my RV's electrical problem for a reasonable price. A nice gentleman called me and gathered all the details before he started. Yes, I was in a long line waiting to get it fixed, but I guess that's the way it is when you're thorough and in high demand.

I would use caution and dealing with this RV service. Charity, who answers the phone, was very helpful and efficient. She told me they were booked solid. She made the effort to call her tecs, who were at lunch. She called me back and told me that her tec said my problem, a pump that needed to be primed, could be an indication of something more serious since all pumps are self priming. I had it on good authority from several people that my pump had lost its prime when I de~ winterized my RV unit. I was fortunate that they were too busy to see me today,and found someone else who primed the pump in 15 minutes for a nominal charge. This is a time when they are all busy and they can charge what they want. Go out of your way to find one who will be honest with you.

Facing a failed awning motor, I had the awning and framework replaced by a different RV service location. Long story short - this other location incorrectly installed the framework resulting in stretching and wrinkling in the awning fabric once retracted. Seeking a solution for the new brand of awning, I discovered that Tony Hobbes was a dealer in my local area. His team diagnosed the incorrect installation which they then well- resolved. I thoroughly enjoyed working with his team from the front desk to the back shop. Quality people providing quality service and attention to detail. I had a problem with my Keystone Sprinter refrigerator not powering on. The staff was very straight forward and pointed me in the direction.If you are unable to bring your unit in you can schedule a service call for them to come out and do some troubleshooting to fix your problem.Service: Electrical

Well I did not go to their office or shop directly, I have been interacting in dealing with the members at Tony Hobbs and Sons RV for about six months. Six months ago I bought a defective air conditioner and they were the company that we're handling my warranty work. They came out and did what they had to do to verify, and then after that it was not in their control over when I got a replacement air conditioner. Fast forward to just a couple days ago and I now have a functioning air conditioner thanks to them they came and installed it and it worked fine. The guys are very nice and I have no complaints over the service.

I've used Tony for my RV maintenance and repair for several years. He worked on our 5th wheel, motor home and now our new 32 foot travel trailer. He has always done quality work and I've never had to bring a unit back because it wasn't fixed correctly. On one occasion he advised me to have the 5th wheel trailer checked because the unit didn't look right. Turns out the entire suspension system had broken loose. That failure on the road at 60 mph could have have cost somebody's life. I have full trust in Tony and his team. He has earned the 5 star rating!!

One attribute of the RV repair/service business is you never know what you will get when you spend your money. In the New Bern area, that problem is solved by Tony Hobbs & Son RV. Great people, skilled, honest, and true to their commitments. They installed a Winegard automatic Dish TV system for me and the job rates 11 out of a 1 to 10 satisfaction scale.Service: Electrical

Tony and James were professional, knowledgeable and thorough. They were extremely kind and patient in answering my many questions. I was able to accomplish full winterizing of my camper and stay on budget. I highly recommend this family business.

If there was an option for 6 stars, Tony Hobbes & Son would surely earn them. If you are in the New Bern, NC area and need RV service Tony Hobbes & Son RV Service is clearly THE BEST place to go. James, the son, has done a few thing for us this summer and it is hard to find anyone as professional and as knowledgeable, as James, not to mention courteous and trustworthy. One thing I found particularly good about James is his willingness to reach out to a manufacturer to confirm a diagnosis and the best way to fix the problem. All too often repair techs think they know it all and they push ahead like a bull in a china shop. James on the other hand is a tech who knows it all but who doesn't let his ego get in the way of doing his due diligence before commencing the repair. If you need service and are in the New Bern area, Tony Hobbes & Son is the place to go. Bruce OI can't say enough good things about Tony Hobbes & Son. James finished installing an RO system for our coach yesterday. The work had been started by the dealer when we bought the coach, but James finished the install. I know there are a lot of good RV Service providers, but I can't imagine that you can find provider that can top Tony Hobbes and particularly James. Attention to detail, careful, conscientious, professional are just some of the adjectives that help describe James. And, I would be remiss if I didn't give a shout out to Colby. Bottom line, you can't/won't go wrong if you let Tony Hobbes & Son RV Service work on your unit! Bruce O.

He arrived on time and completed repair without a problem. Rebuilt water heater like new .Ive been using their srvc for 8 yrs without any negative issues .Would highly recommend them excellent family bussines.

Fantastic people run this business. We are full time RVers. We have two a/c units on our 5th Wheel. Our living area air unit went out while we were staying in Elizabeth City, NC. After an exhaustive search locating anyone within 3 hours I called ahead to find out if they were a authorized Coleman dealer, which they are. They fit us in the day we arrived in the HavelockNC area. Immediately worked out warranty details and within 4 days received a replacement unit. Today they called and worked us into the schedule and installed our unit.These folks are the best customer oriented business we have encountered in our 2 years of doing this. Not even our dealer was this receptive. Bus kudos to the outstanding business. Thank you Colby and James.

Great job by Tony Hobbe's & Son RV Services in providing a warranty replacement for my Dometic AC unit on my Class C while we are visiting New Bern from Florida.All I had to do was bring in my rig and they took care of the rest. The staff was friendly and competent and took care of all the communications with Dometic and the paperwork. I now have a new Dometic AC that blows cold air on these hot and muggy NC days and nights. I recommend Tony Hobbe's & Son RV Services highly for fast, efficient, and competent service. I will use them again if needed the next time I am in town.

I would not recommend this RV establishment....we thought he was reputable, but he is not. Once he almost ripped us off and the second time he did...our first experience was when he said we needed a new roof on our 29' 5th wheel that we had only owned less than five years. I called Crossroads (the manufacturer of the 5th wheel) to see if the roof could possibly still be under warranty and the woman informed me that there was NO WAY that an RV that young would require a new roof - that it probably needed a good cleaning. We subsequently found out that was true....Mr. Hobbes never suggested even calling the manufacturer...seemed he was only after the $1,000 he wanted to replace it. In retrospect, we should never have gone back to him but we decided it was convenient, right in New Bern, and we would give him a second chance....big mistake. Our second experience was when we were having a problem with our slideout...he had the RV for more than a month and in all that time never managed to be able to fix the problem but charged us $1,000 for labor charges. Who knows if he looked at it or even tried to fix the problem. Evidentally, he likes that $1,000 number! We subsequently took our RV to Carteret RV in Cedar Point and they fixed the slideout in a matter of one day and charged us $189!! They said it was a very simple issue of the slideout being off the track. We believe Tony Hobbes is a cheat and a scam artist and my husband and I would never recommend him to anyone. Unfortunately, it was an expensive lesson but we finally did learn not to ever go back to this place and In fact I have discouraged my neighbors who have RVs to never go to him!! I am very sorry we never reported him to the Better Business Bureau of NC which we should have but if I can stop even one person from being scammed by this man, it will be worth this review.

I went there on 9/25/12 to get pull Handles for an RV Awning. I think it was Tony, he was very friendly and helpful in getting what I needed!!! If I ever need RV stuff, that is where I will go. I prefer to help local merchants over Internet any day especially doing buiness with people like Tony Hobbes and Sons. Rick

(June 2013) We are full time, retired military, RV'ers. Mr. Hobbes and his entire staff, provided us with professional, courteous, and excellent service. His technical support personnel, identified several issues with our 2006 Gulfstream Endura's HYDRO jacks system.They were meticulous in troubleshooting the mechanical failures, and replacing the faulity items. During their efforts, I watched them clean, wire brush, and polish all items to be reinstalled. All an indication of their commitment to quality workmanship. They went the extra mile to coordinate with the manufacture technical support help desk, which ensured, they ordered the correct parts.For those traveling thru New Bern, Morehead City, or Jacksonville, NC, I would recommend a stop at their shop for routine or corrective maintenance. For Tony, James and Austin, I want to thank you all for your great service efforts and extremely competitive hour rates. Being full time RV folks, your concern that we could drive back to the base RV park, after each visit, was an extra benefit to us.Satisfied Customers

The secretary was very cordial welcoming the guy that helped me definitely knew what he was doing said he had been in business for about 43 years and I believe it I would give it a rating of a 10 10 being the best
