Highly recommend.They are honest and do good work. It's hard to find a place with good mechanics, but this is such a place. Fair prices posted on the wall. They do both mechanical and body work. We're pleased with both. They also restore classic cars to like new.Not a fancy place. Family friendly. Skip the dealer and give these folks a try.

Just to be clear, I do not write reviews often and I only put stuff on the internet publicly if I believe it is worth sharing. My experience at North Main has been fantastic. I value honesty, integrity, and beneficence, which is what I have been given here. They provided a warm and welcoming environment. The service I received was completed in a very timely manner. They did not charge me to diagnose what my car needed. However, what I find most significant, is the fact that they had the opportunity to make a lot more money off of me and did not take that opportunity. I planned to have my entire timing belt, water pump, tensioner and pulleys changed out, but the shop called me to tell me that I did not need the service because it appears to have been done recently. They could have just done the service and profited off of me, yet they showed me honesty, integrity, and beneficence. This leads me to believe that this shop cares about me and my family, which is absolutely worth writing a review about. Please give North Main your business, they're just good all around.

I ve been bringing my vehicles here for years because of their professionalism and integrity. These guys do a quality job for reasonable prices, and just as importantly, they stand behind their work.

Came out of a car wash (autobell) with a broken rear molding The guys at NMA were able to take time from a long line of inspections/insurance claims to fix it like new They charged me a reasonable $20 Thank you

Had my car towed here and sat in the lot for 2 days. Called back the next day to get an estimate and had to try a few times since they don t seem to want to answer their phones. Finally got through to someone and they told me they would get back with me with the estimate by the end of the day. I never received a call back but the next morning I had a email with an estimate of $6k to replace a engine which is ridiculous. Came by the next day to pick my car up and tow back to my house and I was in disbelief when I saw my cars grill completely detached and hanging loose inside the body. It looked like no effort was took to put it back on and I had to throw it in the backseat. I didn t bother confronting these people since just getting my keys back I had to deal with the rude receptionist. Don t go here.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

North Main Automotive easily has been the car repair shop I have ever dropped my car off at. Their customer service is unbeatable. Their prices are very reasonable and they are very quick to get the job done. North Main s employees are extremely nice and they have such a lovely dog, Coco. They easily have gained my loyalty for the rest of the time I will be in North Carolina!

Super great service and truly amazing workmanship. My truck had quite a bit of front end damage after hitting a deer and they fixed it within 3 days. The quality of the repair was outstanding and the price quoted was exactly what was billed. I highly recommend.

I have been going North Main Automotive the last year to have mostly oil changes performed. The engine light came on and was surprised and alarmed thinking why would the light come on. I was out of town and went to have it checked by a mechanic. The mechanic said the code stated there is problem with the oil. He checked it and said it was overfilled by a quart. I told him I just had the oil changed. The mechanic turned off the light and said go to the shop that did the oil change. I went back to North Main Automotive and I was told the oil level is fine and all looks good. Come back if the engine light comes on. Really!!! I checked the oil, myself the next day so it rested overnight to get an accurate reading. It was overfilled by at least a quart. I am so disappointed as I thought instead of going to a dealer I wanted to support a local business. They lost my business and left an unhappy customer!!!!Service: Oil change

Dropped off vehicle Thursday afternoon for work to be done on Friday. Needed brakes. Picked up car Monday morning and they hadn t done anything work on the vehicle. Told me maybe they will get to it today. Meaning Monday. Very dissatisfied and disappointed. I made it very clear I need my car Monday morning. Giving a shop a day to do a break job should be enough. Someone could have called to alert me. Took my keys and will take my business elsewhere.So now this shop is insulting me. Real class act. I called 3 weeks in advance to have my brakes fixed. I was told no problem. Now they say they are open only half day on Friday and I should have called. I would think given a shop 3 weeks notice should be enough to fit my car in. Don t worry I found a place to do the work.Service: Brakes

I went in there needing two front tires and a front end alignment. The woman at the counter was not helpful at all. She was willing to do the two front tires but not the alignment and I needed the alignment so the tires wouldn't get ruined but she could care less. So I left upset their are people saying their good no their not.

The best shop in town to take care of all your need. Dennis and his staff are very knowledgeable and will have your car fixed from paint to mechanical issues in a timely manner. I brought in my car and it was fixed by the next morning. Front end needed a lot of work, it was clunking and "floated" over bumps and hills. Replaced struts, swing arm, replaced a missing bushing and new shocks on the back that were leaking. It drives like a new car! Thanks so much!

NMA offers excellent customer service & accuracy! I have personally used them for years and have never experienced anything but positive! The quality & precision of work is excellent. The entire team is courteous and looks out for the good of the customer. From inspections to brakes to tires and many other automotive services, they have always been honest and respectful of my budget and time. I had to get a new tire after getting a screw in my tire. They got me a new tire and I was in and out in about 20 minutes. Everyone there is very friendly and knowledgeable. I will not go anywhere else for my tires from now on.

My car broke down on a Tuesday while driving to work. I called roadside to have it towed to the dealership. When I got a text that the wrecker was on the way, I saw it was North Main. I had used them a few times a few years ago for some body work and was very pleased. I called them up and explained what was going on and asked if they do those types of repairs (catalytic converter, transmission, etc ). I wasn t sure exactly. They said yes, so I asked could I have it towed to them instead. Tow driver was great and I followed him to the shop. The service manager said they couldn t get to it that day, but they would call me the next day (Wednesday). Wednesday came and passed without a call. I called Thursday and they hadn t looked at car. I called Friday, hadn t looked at car. I explained I needed car, she said they were busy. I waited until Wednesday of the following week to call (8 days later), she puts me on hold for 20 minutes and someone else comes to phone. They tell me there is a code for transmission and that they don t work on transmissions, just replace them. Website says repair/replace. I ask them to tow it to the dealership which was the original plan. She transfers me to a very nice lady who apologizes and says they can tow it for a fee. I only had it towed to them to start with because I trusted them and they said they do anything. I feel like they should have just towed it. I called roadside again and had it towed to dealership. I wasted 8 days for nothing which was very disappointing. I m sure the owner will have a snarky reply as he/she does on every other poor rating, but the service really was one star this time around.Service: General repairs & maintenance

The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable! They weren t the kind of place that just takes your money and you leave. They make you feel welcome and want to come back! I was able to come in close to closing time and they still squeezed me in for an oil change, after being satisfied with their quickness, my wife and I decided to let them work on our brakes that had been causing us some shaking. I let my wife take it in and was at ease with knowing they weren t going to try and sell her something she didn t need just because she doesn t know about cars. Going back next week for more work to be done that I have been putting off. I had a car accident to the rear side of my car and I was devastated. Make a long story short, the guys repaired my 2019 Mustang Gt and I can t even tell it had a scratch! BEST SHOP FOR ANYTHING IN WNC.

So thankful to North Main Automotive and to their Towing service! My car started overheating on me, nonetheless on my way to work, on the interstate. Finally was able to get pulled over and called North Main, the lady that answered the phone was very friendly and tried her best to calm me down and assure me they would take care of it the best they could. She recommended their towing service, I agreed and in a timely manner their tow truck showed up and got my car back to their shop, later on that day I received a call that my thermostat had stuck shut (which meant nothing to me because I know nothing about cars, but I knew I could trust them) and that was causing it to overheat and a simple replacement would take care of it. Of course I said go ahead! I had my vehicle back the next day and haven t had any trouble out of it since. I would/and do recommend them to everyone!

John and the team were amazing. We were on our way back to Orlando and having car problems and warning lights turning on. After calling the team said to stop by it might be a wait but they could definitely help us. We waited maybe 30 min (which was much faster than we anticipated) and John helped us out. We didn't feel pressured, or rushed out of the way. If we lived in the state, we would make this our regular mechanic.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

North Main Automotive is the best! A few weeks ago I noticed my tire was leaking air right as I was heading out of town. The lady at the front desk was very nice and said that they would be able to work me in to plug my tire. I was in and out very quickly and was able to make it to a rehearsal dinner on time. I recently had some issues with my truck and was looking for a reliable service that could actually be trusted. I use my vehicle for my business so when it's not working neither can I, when I explained my situation to them I was in and out same day. No hassle no issues what so ever 10 out of 10 recommend North Main Automotive to anyone in need of work done on a vehicle or even just a basic tune up.

This is the third time I brought my car, I m not sure if they have a staffing issue, and under promise and over deliver is taken seriously hereOn average, the last three times I ve brought a vehicle here, I ve had to call three times for them to even look at it, and they have moved towards never being able to give any kind of expected timeI m assuming they re still taking new vehicle s?So two thoughts1. Someone in charge is overwhelmed and is not processing cars in the order they come in.2. Someone worked hard on a business and their son inherited it, and doesn t wanna work enough hours or hire an administrative person who can handle reasonable customer serviceThe people have not been in polite at the front desk, but like I said, it s promise, nothing and over deliver their,Secondly, I am returning the car for the second time with the same problem, after waiting a week and a half for them to look at it the last time, they informed me that it would be another unknown amount of time before they can order the parts to do the complete repair job, so I let them replace the ignition coil,I love my town, and I would love to give a better review, but for now I m looking for another mechanic, and I would recommend you do the same. Maybe going to Asheville is worth it. When I was on the other side of town, I got some pretty good service at several places.Again, I m willing to reconsider my experience if somebody wants to reach out, but this has been the worst customer experience ever. It would be better for you to tell people that you can t take any business and that they would do better somewhere else then to instructor staff to tell people you don t know when you ll be able to get to it and make them beg you to plug the machine in and let them let them know what the code says

North Main Automotive was recommended to me when my 2013 Nissan Rogue died and they did not disappoint. It may take them a bit of time to get to your vehicle if not scheduled, but they are expert and trustworthy. I will continue to take my car there for service.

The engine light came on and HUM sent a message as to what was going on. I called my dealership that I have used for 10 years and they would not even do diagnostics on my car, "they could not get it in for 6 weeks". I called N. Main auto and Rebekah told me to bring it on in and they would take a look. I took the car in immediately, Rebekah had a tech run a diagnostic right then trying to resolve the issue. I could not believe the sense of urgency to repair my car. It did have to stay overnight because a part had to be ordered but my car was repaired by 4p.m. the second day and I was pleased with their charges. Everyone that I came in contact with was so delightful and respectful. I highly recommend N.Main Auto. My 4 vehicles will all be going to N. Main Auto from now on. They truly deliver outstanding customer service. A special shout out to Rebekah Tinsley, service consultant, she made the difference to keep me informed all along as to what was going onwith my car and she was respectful and knowledgeable. Thank you N. Main Auto for you for making my service event so positive!
