My 2012 Chevrolet Malibu was stolen from this shop in February 2023. The owner has promised to pay me $6,000.00 for my car out of court but I have not received any form of payment. He wanted to pay me increments of $300.00 a week and claim a loophole in the contract was found and the shop does not have theft insurance. The owner has been promising to pay since March of 2023, then told me I should have the money on September 1, 2023 here it is now January 2024 and no payment has been given in regards to his promises of pay. I chose this shop due to the owner and I growing up in the same neighborhood and I was supporting him with his own business and being successful. But now after no payment has been made and almost a year has gone by and he has been avoiding me when I send text messages and not answering my phone calls sending them to voicemail, I have no choice but to get the courts to handle this situation. I have been so patient with him but nothing has happened and I m sorry but I cannot support him in this case due to his actions and negligence about the whole situation as if a whole car wasn t stolen from his place of business and the only vehicle that was stolen at that time. Please be careful with this shop and its loophole if your vehicle is ever stolen from here.

What could be worse breaking down on a record hot day with 3 large dogs half way thru a 9 hour drive???? We were very fortunate that the minivan only broke a belt and we had a little time to find a shop. I called my son a mechanic in Maryland to ask who I should go to. Batteries on everything were dying. He said he would call me right back and luckily he did and he sent us to Bishop. The shop was packed and busy when we got there but they were super fast to see us and immediately set the dogs up with a shady spot and a hose. They fit us in and really saved the day. The work was perfect. If I lived in Henderson this would be my GO TO SHOP!

Bishops will only leave you with a bad experience and an even MORE messed up car than you already had, go to someone you know and trust before going here.

I work in Durham M-F, so time was of the essence. Early one Saturday morning not too long ago, without an appointment, I stopped by for what I thought was only to have my brakes replaced. I end up needing to replace my rotors and one of the calibers too. Fortunately, all went well and I was pulling out of the garage two hours later. The owner even replaced one of my backlight bulbs that I wasn't even aware was blown. I was so grateful and thankful. I will definitely be back.

Had a bad experience at this place. Cost me time and money. My car never drove the same again and cost me hundreds of dollars. Better to go to the dealership.

Ive been to bishops twice for repairs to my honda and have had nothing but excellent service. Everyone is so friendly.I got there at 8am and the owner offered to get us biscuits and coffee. They worked on my car in a timely manner and the prices were unbeatable. He even showed me the part that he removed so I'd know it was new parts put into my car. Before leaving the owner talks to you personally about everything they did and you see him checking on the workers as they are doing it so it's not just someone at a desk that doesn't know what they're doing.

I have been going to Bishop's for years, I have always received excellent and courteous service. I have referred people and they have the same opinion and I don't give referrals easily. If you have any type of problems very easy to talk to and problem can be solved, my opinion.

The best hands down I took my car here twice. And both times the problem was fixed. And Bishop was very nice and truthful, gave me a unbeatable price. Thank u bishop and may God bless u.

I just wanted to say that James (owner) and the men working here are all fantastic and extremely kind/courteous/professional. My wife and I were moving to Raleigh last week from Long Island, and my car broke down in Henderson. We thought we were screwed; no AAA, no nearby friends/family, low funds from the move, two cars packed full with stuff. We checked with a nearby tire place, and we were told there was "only 1 auto shop within 5 miles" and when I called that place I was met with a rude gentleman that said they were "busy" and that we should "bring the car in two weeks" this is after I told him we were moving and had nowhere to stay nearby.I ended up doing some online searching, and I found several nearby auto mechanics within 2 miles "tire guy lied" and one was Bishop. It already had several positive reviews, so my wife and I took a chance. We called and were greeted with a professional gentleman, who agreed to look at our car immediately. I was able to drive the one mile to Bishop going 20 mph, and we were immediately met by the workers. They were all amazing in that they not only tended to my car, but they also gave us some water bottles (it was about 90 degrees this day) and ensured us that they would have towed our car to their shop free if I had not been able to make it.They were very busy at the time, but James and the other mechanics did an amazing job juggling all of the cars needing fixing. I honestly don't think I saw one of them sit down once the whole time my wife and I were there. I didn't even realize James was the owner until I asked, he was constantly working on everyone's car. Luckily there was no major damage that needed to be fixed, and James even accompanied me on a test drive with his diagnostic machine hooked up, just to ensure there were no issues that he missed. After my car was fixed, we paid a very fare price, and were on the way to Raleigh.The very next day, James called me, just to check and make sure that we made it safely and that there were no further problems. I have never had a more positive experience with a mechanic, and I would highly recommend this place to everyone I know for auto care. Even though my wife and I are now about 60 miles away, we would gladly take our cars back to Bishop, just for the peace of mind that our cars would be taken care of. Thank you again to everyone at Bishop auto for ensuring our trip was safe and successful!--Tim

I would have increased the stars. The reason only 4 stars is because there is really no decent place to sit to wait on your car, the yard is FULL of cars and auto pairs laying around. But the staff is friendly and fixed my car.

I am beyond grateful for my experience with Bishop's!!!!! They stayed open beyond their schedule and got me and my family safely back on the road in reasonable time for a very reasonable price. Joyce, Lil Red, Roberto & Ryan, thanku guys again. I dont understand the bad reviews at all...can't even believe them.

I went to 3 other shops before finding Bishop. I was already having a bad day as my grandma was dying and now my car was severely messed up. I was helped right away by Mr.bishop , he diagnosed the problem and went above and beyond by helping me get my car home when it was discovered that he wouldn't be able to repair my issue. He found a dealership that could and got me a quote on the repair. I couldn't have asked for a better experience on a day when I needed kindness the most.

Bishop is a true professional in the automotive mechanic industry. He fix my problem with a great deal attention and also gave me tips incase the problem occur again. Bishop s shop is jam-packed with personality and a sense of family. All employees maintain a clean environment and they have awesome customer service. I will continue to bring my auto issues to this shop. Thank you Bishop

I do not understand the bad previous bad review. I went there when my truck needed a new clutch, and not only did he fix it withen 24 hours but he added rear diff fluid an installed a new universal joint at no extra charge.

Dropped off my '97 Saturn to this shop with a bad ignition switch which turned into also a bad starter which turned into a bad wiring harness as well. They put a young kid who looked high to work on my car and he took 4 days to figure out it was just a bad wiring harness. Told me it would cost $170 parts and labor. Called me back an hour later and said it would be another $100 because they forgot to add in diagnosis. My car sat there another 5 days till they told me the harness would be in that day at 5 oclock. then the next day they said they couldnt find my part from any other shop. THEN after 2 weeks ( while having to walk to work and spend thanksgiving in a hotel, not being able to go home) they tell me theyre still looking for my harness. THEN i said forget about it, tow it back to my home. Well they charged me $240 after all their "help" and left most of my under dash and steering column parts all under my dash all disconnected.They need to just stick to oil changes and simple work because they only employ simple minded and corrupt workers. And as for the other reviwes here, im sure most are people they know trying to cover up what a shyt hole this shop really is. Don't buy the bible sitting on their counter as evidence of their trustworthiness, you will be fooled! DO NOT take your car to BISHOPS in Henderson, N.C. unless you want sharks and incompetent workers working on your car!!! On the way out after handing me a bill for $240 for absolutely NOTHING done to my car other then it being NOT fixed and left in shambles, they tell me Thank you Mr. Ellerman. I said "Thank you for nothing"! Avoid at all costs going to Bishops!

They did a oil change on my car and my car stop running like it will not turn over. Bishop's son is very rude and disrespectful jumping in a woman face very unprofessional I wouldn't take my bicycle to them to change a tire. They need to shut down permanently.Service: Oil changeService: Oil change

This people here was angels for me an my family i was passing through to get home an ahad car trouble seriouse issues too an i had my children with me an my sick mother not only did i get great advice i was stuck an they beyond blessed my family they was a blessing for my children fed tjem an housed us while we had to wait for car to get parts an repair I pray god continues to lay his hands on the people here an this business I dnt know what i would due so many miles from perry ga an so little i could due for my situation Thanks guys I couldnt not have met a greater group of folks while being lost an in need of a great auto repair This was the right place

I had a problem with 1 brake light, James Allen and his crew got it figured out and did my inspection. Everyone was very friendly even though they were busy. I Will be going to Bishop Automotive for my car care needs. Thank you Bishop Automotive!
