Purchased 4.7 dodge engine from dealer. Engine ran for less than 900 miles then through a rocker arm off. Dealer replaced valve lash adjuster. Check engine light has been on most of the time the engine has been installed. Truck is in the shop again for misfire code running on 7 cylinders. I have been able to drive the truck about 3 weeks in the last 4 months and do not feel comfortable driving more than a few miles from the house due to breaking down on the road. Jasper will not pay dealers unless they produce a broken part. This experience has been a nightmare. Extremely frustrated.Service: Engine repair

Not a great value for the money:Here goes... I have done business with Jasper engines and transmissions since 2009 when I first opened up my automotive repair business. In May of this year we had purchased one of their"Running Complete Diesel Engines" that is advertised as remanufactured to O.E.M. specifications and "dynamometer tested".In the past the company had extended me credit allowing me a 30 day charge, not on this unit however . The individual on the phone said they would not accept credit card or company check, and that I was required to have a cashiers check ready for the driver when he arrived. When the driver arrived he had to verify its authenticity with corporate and the issuing bank before he would unload the engine.I had never had to jump thru hoops like this before and at this point I felt like a second class citizen.Installation of the unit went smoothly, test drove and returned the vehicle to customer. An hour and a half later the phone rang with the customer stranded 30 miles from our shop in the middle of an intersection ,with a trailer hooked to the truck. A large tow bill later the truck arrived at our shop with a faulty fuel Injection pressure regulator which was supplied with the engine .We replaced the regulator and returned the truck back to the customer with sincere apologies. So...... one oil change later the truck shows back up at the shop running on 7 cylinders. Upon inspection we found an injector fault code, a back pressure fault code and 2 glow plug trouble codes stored in the engine control computer, all of which were supplied with this engine. Wiring was tested to ensure that we had proper voltages/grounds to components .Replacement of one fuel injector ,one exhaust back pressure sensor which was plugged with chunks of carbon and 2 glow plugs all of which were supplied with this "complete unit", the truck was test driven and returned back to customer with sincere apologies once again.Mine and the customers experience with this unit has been far less than acceptable given the troubles experienced so far .....I had sold the customer on a complete package that would be trouble free and enhance the value of his truck.Jaspers motto is:"providing you with the perfect product. .... Proudly Re-Made in the USA."The question remains what other issues may lie ahead...Oh, just a little more info for anyone searching...The O.E. Ford Equivalent is available with head studs for virtually the same price as the jasper unit.better warranty in my opinion.... you may take it to any Ford dealer nationwide for warranty repairs .

Bought a 5.3 litre engine lasted 20k miles no oil pressure put new one in and had 17lb oil pressure while running and was told it was within specs. Now my engine has 10lb at idle and needs another engine with 1k miles and they say 24lb is spec weird how it changed from before. I will never buy again and also have a Friend that bought a 5.4 Ford motor that knocks on start up he traded truck in they refused to fix it told him to just drive it that's too much money too spend and have to worry about it breaking down with you. Definately check around do not buy Jasper they have definately declined in quality from the way they used to be nothing but junk
