The rooms are okay for the price and location and the room service is decent but during our short 3 day stay we were disturbed at the least twice every single night by a woman (Tara McDuffie) (who was living at the motel) in the parking lot screaming to the top of her lungs as she argued with her boyfriend (I assume) and this would go on for HOURS!!!! And to make things better during the day you can get the pleasure of her screaming as she "disciplines" (so she called it) and beats her 3 year old toddler! (Tbh she needed to be reported to CPS (Child Protective Services) a long time ago if you ask me!Other than that the short vacation went pretty well

The rooms were infested with roaches. The locks on the door was very cheap and unsafe. The sheets had cigarette burns on them.lf you decided to stay there bringing plenty of roach spray.Safety: Door locks were very cheap and unsecure.

They could use a good deep cleaning. Housekeeping doesn't really clean the showers. Housekeeping is once a week. Sheets all have burn holes in them. There were a few roaches on the wall. I seen big ones around one particular wall and baby ones in the microwave and fridge. The rooms could definitely use larger refrigerators. You can keep anything in the small ones that are in the room. So plan to go out and get food stuffs every day if your staying for longer than a day or 2. Owner is very nice, it's not a bad place to stay and you CANNOT BEAT THE PRICE! $45 a night or $250 for the week. That's for 2 adults. I'm not sure about any up charges for kids or additional people. Our room had a king size bed so it was only for 2 adults. It's outdated but it's a decent place. I told owner about seeing the bugs and he sprayed every room here not just mine. Its very quiet here, owner doesn't tolerate drama which is great! Just wish they would update a few things. They have updated half the shower, bathroom floor and sink in my room. But dresser is unusable and table was especially warbly. I have more better things than bad things to say about this motel. It's DEFINITELY BETTER than any other motel within the same price range!!! Since the owner sprayed I've not seen any bugs either.Safety: Very safe place to stayWalkability: Right across from the rail-trail. Can get to it very quickly.

The guy who owned it was cool, he worked with us on payments , and the staff was always so friendly and helpful and catered to whatever u needed with a smile. The owners wife however always has an attitude problem and looks down her nose at everyone she's just plain mean and needs to get some customer service skills. They do no maid service you clean your own rooms do your own bed linen exchanging and making n do your own trash. The rooms are outdated and need repairs n there is mold. And when the owners wife comes to inspect your weekly room once a week she'll fuss at you for the mold and tell you to get rid of it... Knowing it's been there since 1972 smh ijs. It's super reasonable prices very fair price actually and there is no violence, drama, or inherent danger to worry about there. It's very quiet and they don't tolerate trouble makers there so it's safe. It's close to family dollar and a gas station and vape shop in walking distance appx 15min walk each way. The weekly neighbors that live there are all cool, friendly, and sociable. I was mostly satisfied for the two months i lived there the beds aren't that comfortable because they're old unless you get to rent from the renovated side of the motel. The drink machine has ice cold drinks for only a buck and the Ice machine always works. I was bored to death in forest city and got stir crazy there but the motel itself ain't bad at all. If ever moved bk to that town or traveled thru there I'd stay there again. You'll enjoy your stay there just avoid the owners wife. Lol

Not bad at all. Our room was clean. Linens were clean. Bathroom was clean. Not a single bug was seen. Management was polite and helpful.Though, none of the furniture matched and two of the four walls were painted concrete block, I found it rather interesting and quite cozy. We paid $45 for the night and we WOULD stay there again.

I absolutely love the little bike trail right across the street. The atmosphere is pleasant. People here mind their business and are friendly. Haven't had any issues with anyone and the guy in the office is super nice. On my second night I did have a bug in my room but someone came up right away and took care of it and offered to move me to another room if the problem persisted but I haven't had an issue since. Really not a bad place if you're a decent human being.

The room was affordable, bordering on cheap and relatively clean. The staff were incredibly nice.Overall not a bad stay.

If you value cleanliness & having fresh linens or towels, this is not the place for you. There was hair in the bed, no soap in the antiquated bathroom. Shower had zero hot water. I don't even think they cleaned the shower. It is not worth the price, even if it was $1 a night. There are far cleaner places to stay.

Rented a room for brother who is homeless. I thought he could pay for next night. I called at checkout time. Was going to help him with room price but the owner was rushing him out of the room so that he could not talk. I didn't know til later that night. I found my 63 yr old brother with parkinsons,brain damage,heart problems, walking as he had all day. Half his belongings were stolen when he went back for them.THE RUTHERFORD COUNTY SHERIFF DEPT HOLDS HIM NOW AS THEY DID FOR 3 MONTHS LAST YEAR FOR BEING IN SUBZERO TEMPURATURES AND ENTERING CHICKEN HOUSES ON PAINTERS GAP TO KEEP HYPOTHERMIA FROM KILLING HIM. HE WILL BE IN JAIL TIL JUNE 29TH FOR TRIAL. IS THERE NO JUSTICE IN THIS COUNTY

I stayed here Saturday October 12th through Monday October 14th in room 114 and i loved it, great price very friendly service. I asked for two extra pillows and they gave them to me right away. I read a lot of negative reviews and i don't understand why. It might not be the nicest hotel but great for the price. I only paid $88 dollars for two nights and i will be going back again. A plus side it is only 40 minutes away from chimney rock state park. It's a wonderful hotel to me.

Bathroom ceiling had plastic on it and full of waterA lot of water. The staff was rude and o didn't fill safe. When my fiance arrived who is a air Force veteran the owner can put of the office and threatened him. It was shocking. We leftAnd had paid for three daysI called the night before and let them know I was checking out early. They never returned the or paid charged and they said they would. I paid ahead to make sure if I needed it it would be reserved for to s busy time of year.

My aunt rented a room with her husband for the week. They paid $200 for 2 people for 7 days..... During those 7 days the tenant next door was extreamly hateful and rude to my aunt. When she called the manager to complain she was told "he didn't have time for her or to talk about it" he treated her like she is an incompitent woman. The rude tenant informed her he was only paying 160 a week for 1 person when they called to rent the room prior she was told it's 190 a week for 1 person or 200 for 2 people. Seems to me she was ripped off to stay in a motel that not only has roaches but there was clots of hair in the bed when They arrived. They advertise friendly staff but that is a lie or the manager would of done his job properly and made sure the rooms were cleaned and sprayed properly he also would have informed the man twice my aunt's age and size that he shouldn't be aggressive towards other guest especially those who are paying out alot more then he is. Our family works for the the court system the state he government. We understand laws and proper moral code as well as management and business skills and frankly GARDOS MOTEL SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THE SERVICE AND GROSS NEGLIGENCE my aunt received.

Love the new management. Paul has done an AMAZING JOB! It's Alot safer and cleaner here than it was with the old management. The rooms are ALOT cleaner and more sanitary than town and country, stagecoach, and tri city. I've been here several times this past year and I'm greatful for the service and the management.

Rooms are recently renovated and clean. Paul has done a wonderful job with the motel and goes out of his way to ensure you have a great stay. WWI'll be staying here again next time I'm in town. Recommend this motel for a great stay.

Management horrible complained if you have company. Threatening to call police all the time if you have company. Dirty room no ice machine have to get a small bucket of ice from office not available when needed. Clean towels only when maid comes around if you're there.. always watching you anytime day or night.. Not friendly. Hated it.

Friendly staff, the rooms are cleAn, everything works.. affordable. Definitely nicest place you can rent in comparison to other motels in the same price range. No bugs. We enjoyed our stay at Gardos . Would definelty recommend to anyone for 2019

This motel has undesirable accommodations, is unclean. The owners are not very friendly. Also it's biggest downfall is the clients that frequent the place. A well known area of prostitution and drug activity. Not a decent establishment to have children. Also it's too much of a sacrifice of time and finances. A complete dreg on our society as a whole.

Cheap rooms but they smell bad and although I didn't see any in the whole 5 minutes I was there, they used to have a very bad roach problem. They may have fixed this, but I would check before getting a room.

Best fried hampster I ever tasted. The waterfall running out the back of the toilet into the tub is the prettiest thing I've seen since the Hilton in in Paris London.bravo bravo.

I been living here for 5 months and I like it , when Paul took this place over a few years ago he cleaned up the bad elements that lived here and been doing some extensive remodeling always took care of any issues I had, Good job Paul keep it up.

I have stayed here three times before this have had a problem. But the morning I just had and payed for the 5 an hour so I could stay till 3pm today than hit the road for a 12hr trip back home. I was woke up to a heard of buffalo up stairs and sounded like a school lunch room out side. Here I am now going to find a rest area to sleep in my car. Got kicked out but got a return of the 20 sailors we payed to stay till 3pm. As of Monday I will be getting intouch withthe Bbb also other places even web site that promot this place and tell them.

Terrible AVOID Id go somewhere else dont even think about it. Cheated me out of $200I paid for the week and stayed for 13hours. Im beyond angry. Now im staying in my car with no money until payday.

Place is dirt-cheap and has the expected amenities, including cable and WiFi. The facilities are not in the best repair but they all work properly. Good for a traveler on a budget, not sure I'd recommend it to a family.

Kind and helpful.Room was clean, tv worked fine . Great AC. Confort was an 8. Best part, only 40.00 for night. Plus free WiFi to boot.
