RIP off artist if I've ever seen one!!! On May 21 me and my wife were preparing to leave thekoa camp ground in Asheville and when I plugged the 7 way wire to the truck it started smoking and shooting fire and the wire melted. The camp store gave me a list of names and one call suggested I call big rig service and trailer repair. Man am I sorry I did, I told him over the phone what the problem was and he said it could be a couple of hours before arriving. We pulled the camper to the storage area .finally after more than 4 hrs he arrived. He had barely started when his daughters had me signing a repair contract .He looked up under the camper and removed some of the battery wires. He then told me he couldn't repair it. He knew I didn't have trailer brakes and I was going down the mountain. He said he couldn't do it. For 15 minutes of nothing he charged me $125.00 service call and $250.00 labor . He was in an awful big hurry to get somewhere else. He had no intention of repairing the camper, but just riding around and collecting money for nothing!!!!! Highway robbery at it's best, James i don't see how you sleep at night ripping people off like that!!!!!! We got down the mountain o.k, going 40mph. We just had real professionals fix the wiring and it was a ground wire that caused the problem. They fixed the problem, lubricated the slide showed us some tips on the awnings and made other repair suggestions and w ere their for over 2hrs and charged $475.00 and they actually did some work and repaired all the wiring issues! Shout out to Unique RV repair service in hickory, N.C. PLEASE don't use big rig truck service unless you like wasting your money!!!!!! Don't even deserve one star but I had to post.Service: Electrical

My truck broke down I was frustrated and upset I called around looking for shops that could help, nobody had the availability and to be honest nobody seemed interested. James picked up and off bay showed kindness and told me f I could make it to ext 59 he could look at my truck the next day. I called tow companies who wanted to charge me anywhere from $900-1125 to tow my rig 5.9 miles away. Even more frustrated ( I prayed to the good Lord above) James called back to check on me , when he realized that I was still in the same place, he came to me. He tried a few things to get me going to make it to the truckstop 5 miles away. He spent about two hours on the road with me to ensure that I made it which saved me a great deal of money for the tow., he ordered my parts. When my parts arrived the next day, he came and worked on my truck as promised, and I was on my way. I want to say that I read the reviews and was very leery. However, I am the type of person who honestly believes that every person experience people differently. I say all that to say that my experience may not be yours and vice versa.

James did not want to work on my Mercedes but he did and it worked out wonderfully. I needed brakes and was having a sensor issue. He fixed it the same day and I was back on my way. Experience, quality work, fair, and honest. I've used Big Rig several times now and James and Kim are awesome. I had a wheel bearing go out on my day cab and James hit the road as soon as I called. His service truck is equipped for any job you can imagine and his attention to detail is second to none. I later went by his shop and was blown away by how clean and organized it was. Not really sure how you keep that up working on diesels! It's a real gem to find a "mom and pop" business like this nowadays. Thanks again y'all for getting me back on the road!

We had a wonderful experience working with these guys (husband and wife). We own an RV and were experiencing electrical issues. This guy would not give up and fixed our problem. I would use again without question. 5 stars from my husband and me.Service: ElectricalService: Electrical

CONSUMER BEWARE ! ! ! James looks like a Diesel mechanic, and has the equipment of a Diesel mechanic, yet James is as far away from being a professional ethical person, let alone a diesel mechanic. When James speaks, be very concerned about the truth or lack of, in any statements made. In my opinion, James is a shyster of the highest caliber. Approximately 3K of expenses for James to declare , and I quote"I don't know what went wrong, but it is running now." After this fiasco with this shyster, I took my Motorhome to Cummins of Spartanburg, where they diagnosed and repaired a ground wire to the ECM, which resolved my issues. CONSUMER BEWARE ! ! ! Honestly he doesn t even deserve a star.Should not be allowed to repair anything.Kids running all over climbing on and in customers vehicles.We didn t know the area and needed to find a shop quickly, obviously we chose the wrong one.If you want it done right by someone who is clearly knowledgeable, professional, and an actual mechanic, then never use this shop.He might as well repair everything with duct tape!

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE !!!! NOT RELIABLE !!!!!!!!!!James is the worst mechanic ever. He told us that there is air leak out of a valve and he needs to order the part first thing in the morning. He rejected to tell us which valve it is and when we called in the morning for an update he said that he doesn't want to work on our truck. Just like that he was lying to us the whole previous day that he will fix the truck and he never got the part or the truck fixed.

I got a turbo replaced here thought I might have problems with the turbo mechanic asked me to return cuz they warranty all their work found out that it wasn't the turbo but the alternator instead took him no time to fix it everything's great their customer service is great if you're having mechanical problems this is the place you should come to!!!!
