Went in to see if they could fix my squealing brakes right before I moved from Durham a couple months ago.I was told I needed new brakes and rotors and that my car required ceramic brake pads. After having that done I left and within a couple days my brakes started squealing again. I went back in and was told they weren't squealing, but they had taken a look at them anyways and had found and removed a rock that was stuck in the brakes. I left and again, the squealing returned. After moving the squealing has been getting worse and worse and the shop I just took my car to said that the rotors weren't replaced as I was told and now a couple months later I now need entire new sets of pads, rotors, and calipers.Overall I left Precision Auto Tune with my brakes squealing worse than they were when I first went and despite two visits nothing was any better and now everything has to be replaced again.I should also point out that while the front desk staff were great and very pleasant to talk to the gentleman that I spoke with who identified himself as the manager had a very condescending tone and spoke down to me on both visits.Service: Brakes

Took my jeep in for new brakes. Soon after the vehicle was not driving correctly shaking badly. I went back the test drove it and stated there is nothing wrong. The shaking continued so I took it to a jeep dealer who found the brake caliber failurer and a twisted hose. To repair along with caliber and hose replaced the rotor had to be resurfaced. Additional costs $1007.58

A Big, Heartfelt Thanks to Mr. Chuck at the North Durham location for fixing the leak on our family's VW Atlas. Mr. Chuck saw the issue late in the evening, just before the shop was closing, and was able to fix it the following morning. Our family only has one car that can fit everyone so it was imperative that we not get held up by the leak, otherwise school pick-up would have been a nightmare. Thanks again for keeping us mobile Mr. Chuck!

These guys were amazing. Diagnostic showed my oil was just drained and instead of charging me for the whole diagnostic they only charged for the oil change. I came in to get a oil change and was told that u had one car ahead of me and that it would be 40mins -1Hr only to have 2 cars jump me and then be told they thought I was dropping my car off when clearly they can see I never left the site ,

I don't know how they do have business when their customers service sucks and they're so disrespectful to people, been knowing that place for some years now and nop they don't do better specifically the guy who runs the shop is insolent (Chuck) have no manners at all, he treats people like trash and yell at them no matter it if is a customer, employee or any person, he is not good for customer service heard that from a LOT of people if I could give a 0 start I would....

Fast service and didn't try to push additional unnecessary things. Price was okay especially in today's economy and definitely cheaper than the dealership.

Was told that they would check and see if my car could be aligned, and if it wasnt able to they would call me, so i went across the street to mcdonalds and goodwill, an hour goes by of me thinking that everything is good and they are working on my car, then when i figured it was done i went back over, and they told me it couldnt be fixed and they wouldnt work on it, i do understand that jf something is messed up they will not work on it due to liability issues, but why wouldnt they have called me to tell me they couldnt do it, and make me wait an hour, just to come back over and the technician get mad and start arguing out od nowhere because he couldnt work on my car, i should so mention that the technician and guy at front desk were just chilling hanging out when i got back, so again, why didnt i get a phone call, why did they make me wait an hour to tell me they couldnt do anything, and proceed to argue with me about how my car is ruined, when all i did was ask why they couldnt work on it, i wasnt even upset until the technician got an attitude with me, needless to say i will NOT be returning, and i would NOT recommend anybody go here, prices are probably only low because of how incompetant the employees are at this location.Service: Steering & suspension repair

Chuck and his team are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable! Since moving to the area, I exclusively go to this shop because I know I will receive amazing care. The people that work here care about the longevity of your car and will work with you. They're very fairly priced and well worth the wait, if you come in at a busy time. As a new neighbor who just moved to this area, I came to Precision Tune Auto Care on North Roxboro St. for a NC inspection for my registration renewal. They failed my inspection with the reason that one of my car tires got a crack and they needed to replace all 4 tires with the cost of $500. As I already changed 4 tires new just 3 years ago and the car were not really used due to the Covid-19 pandemic, my car is a 2-wheel-drive Honda Accord I did not trust what they inspected and declined this 4 tire replacement even the store manager tried to urge me to do it on the same day. I brought my car to another store for tire replacement and NC inspection. The technician at this store could not find any problem with the 4 tires and thus they just charged me $30 for NC inspection with a pass result.With this very bad experience, I will never use any services from this Precision Tune Auto Care shop and not ever recommend this auto shop to my friends, family members or anyone else.Service: Vehicle Inspection

Great place. They never fail me. They get me I and out great timing. Chuck is amazing. Not only will he fix what you came in for but if he sees any thing while fixing the issue he will definitely let you know. I just love that about precision tune.

Best mechanic shop in Durham! If you have any issues with the car take it hear and they will get you right!! The prices are amazing compared to most shops and for how quick they get things done! You can t beat these guys!

Don't get me wrong. This Precision Tune does adequate work, although once, when I asked that they make sure the low tire pressure light was out when I left after an oil change, it wasn't. I brought it back and they somehow got it off, but I got half way to Roxboro and it was on again. That was a Saturday, and they must have been unable to get me tires because they didn't even suggest it as an option.Which brings me to my main complaint: almost every time I take my car there, usually for an oil change, they try to tell me I need the kitchen sink while I'm at it. They told me I needed brakes once and I didn't have the money at the moment. A couple of weeks later, I went to Firestone for tires and asked them to check the brakes. They said they were fine. PT said I might get another 3000 miles out of them. That was over 10k miles ago and I've had the car back to PT twice since for oil changes and they said nothing about the brakes.The owner or manager is the worst about this up-selling. The first time I went here, right after they opened, he tried to tell me I needed control arms on the front to the tune of over $900. This was on a car I'd just bought and only paid $3000 for so I was reluctant to shell out that much. Good thing because I took it elsewhere and was told they were fine. I'm really getting tired of this.

Took 2 vehicles in for different services. Both vehicles left with issues that weren t there before. Take the cars apart and don t know how to put them back together correctly.

These guys did a wonderful job and very fare priced. Courteous service and I felt like they were very trustworthy. Hard to find honest mechanics that don't try to rip you off.This is a part two to this review. These guys just do it. I had some pretty unfortunate luck with my son's car recently. I won't get into details about it, but just know the guys here at Precision Tune really went all out for me. I really appreciated the professionalism of the staff and emphasis on customer service. I arrived at 4:50PM, knowing that they close at 6PM, and fully expected to get pushback at starting work on my car at that hour. I was pleasantly surprised to be told that they had time and would be there until all work was complete. Then I asked about rates for the state inspection, intending to bring my vehicle back on another day for that service. I was asked if I wanted to add the inspection to the work I was having done, which I did, once more impressed that they made my needs a priority instead of worrying about the time. The waiting room was very clean with a nice sized TV, the chairs were comfortable, and there was also a Kids Corner with TV. My car was ready by 6:15PM. The mechanic smiled, handed me my keys and wished me a good night. It all seemed very genuine. Overall a great experience and I am glad they set up shop in North Durham. I will definitely be back.

I absolutely and highly recommend PTAC. They staff is always friendly and Chuck goes above and beyond in making me feel like home when I am there. They even take care of my daughter who's in college, when she needs it. I feel I can always trust them and never had to worry about being taken advantage of. The prices are definitely cheaper in comparison to the place I used prior to them (down the street) and they let you know what other things you may need, but not pushing it on you or scaring you into feeling pressured to have the work done. And even with the cheaper prices, the work is always high quality. I've never had to return or had any issues after having our vehicles serviced. Excellent quick service. Had my car towed in early on a Saturday morning with my right front wheel pointing perpendicular to the car. Despite it being before opening time, the manager Chuck was there early and had the flatbed truck unload my car directly into a bay. What a pleasant surprise when they completed repairs on my car well before noon. Thanks to Precision Tune and especially to Chuck and the fantastic techs working at this location.Service: Steering & suspension repair

Every time I have gone in there, the service has been a bit slow. I'm not sure if it was because there weren't many mechanics, or if there were a lot of people ahead of me, but it took close to an hour before they could get to me. The inside is great, clean, and is super inviting. Bathrooms are clean as well, like everyone else says. Prices are great compared to other local auto shops. I just wish they were a bit faster, or else they'd have 5 stars.

Great service for someone that has to work 7 days a week they worked with me to get my issues taken care of on a Saturday with no appointment.The lady that checked me in was very nice and knowledgeable and quite attractive as well!!I will be going back for future issues should the need arise.From one business owner to another good job!!Service: General repairs & maintenance

Do not take your car here!! Chuck, who I guess is the manager, is the rudest man I ve ever had to interact with. I thought it was because I was a girl honestly, until he also was completely rude and unprofessional to my dad too. I was charged $90 for a diagnostic test where they told me it was my computer. Come to find out it was literally an O ring on my crankshaft sensor (an easy fix, whereas a new computer was $2000). Chuck has no customer service and they left all my cars parts out when I came to pick up my car. Im still missing some screws. Absolute worst customer service I ve ever encountered!!!

Very rude. My wife called in with a question about a previously done alignment (took them 3 times to get it right). Tires were still wearing very badly. So bad the cords were showing through. The man told my wife to pound sand and then hung up on her. I used to go there a lot, but never again.

Despite the busy atmosphere, the manager at the front desk, Tabitha Coffey, was incredibly warm, professional, and a joy to work with. She kept me up to date on the status of the part delivery and on the repair job, and even gave us a much better rate than any of the other local mechanics. 10/10Service: BrakesService: Brakes
