Excellent all around service. I have used this location for over 25 years. They are very knowledgeable and thorough. They take care of everything on my 5 cars from tires to regular maintenance. I recently had my headlights restored. Incredible difference at a very reasonable price. Miles, Danielle and the rest of the staff are super friendly and professional.

Poor experience at this store left me unlikely to use Firestone again or recommend - here is a brief timeline of my experience to illustrate:Friday - brought van in due to inconsistent starting issue. After having my vehicle all day, they called me to tell me they found nothing wrong. When I went in and asked for the mechanic to explain, they realized they had not been checking for my issue at all. Van was returned to me without chargeSaturday - brought van back in for same issue. At end of day was told they needed to replace fuel pump and they would not finish the job until Monday. Would not send me a copy of quote when requested, only told that the cost "would stay the same"Monday - Called in periodically to check in on progress but almost never got through the line. They are very understaffed at front so will put you on hold almost every time. By the end of day could not get through at all, no status update on my vanTuesday - Call in and find out they are done and had to replace hoses. Was not asked to confirm this $99 hose charge, they just did it. Here is the kicker - when I went to confirm my van started correctly before paying, it started the first time, but would not start after that. They were about to let me pay $1200 and walk off with my vehicle's problem unfixed. Here is where they get two stars instead of one - the manager took over from here, taking the van in himself to look at it and get the issue sorted out. Needed the van for several more hours. Finally got the issue sorted (fuel filter needed replacing - which makes me wonder if the $800+ fuel pump replacement was even necessary)So to summarize - car in shop for 5 days for a single fuel pump/filter replacement, poor communication between front staff and mechanics, poor ability to check on status of vehicle, attempt to give me back and charge for vehicle without fixing issue, and shady practices around quoting/charging. Would not recommend.

The stellar customer service that I received from the Firestone location at University Drive in Durham was like none other. I worked with two guys named Miles and Dominique. Both of whom were very knowledgeable and experienced. I explained my issue which originated from an oil leak. They were able to address it with top notch customer service! Dominique and Miles were extraordinary.

Super friendly, reasonably priced, quality service, and easy to navigate booking system to make an appointment. They found things that the Toyota dealer had said they did, but didn't - e.g., one of two air filters was clearly replaced, but the second was clearly not. Super communicative and reasonably priced. Would highly recommend!

It s been a long time where u can find a business that s trustworthy. Mr. Miles has been trustworthy, and showed perfect customer service. He definitely pays attention to his customers and service records. I wasn t pressured into buy anything I didn t need. I will be returning because of the customer service and honest work him and his team did. I will also be telling the other healthcare workers about the excellent service I had. The team at this Firestone should be a leader for the others to follow. I have officially changed any services done on my Nissan to this Firestone because of the trustworthiness and customer service. When you go ask for Mr. Miles I guarantee you won t be lead astray . Thanks again Mr. Miles!

My daughter passed away in NC and her friend from Mississippi came for the funeral. When the friend was returning to Mississippi, the starter on her vehicle played out, about 1 3/4 hours from the funeral location. She was very frightened and not knowing what to do. She called us and we came to Hillsboro, NC. We had the car towed to the University Dr. location. All bays were full. We explained the situation. Elvin Council and fellow workers had empathy. They asked a mechanic if he could install the starter. He said he'd be glad to. He worked on it half in the garage door and fixed it in a prompt manner and got the young lady on here way back to Mississippi !! This is going Above and Beyond for someone in need. We are more than grateful to all! Dale Tillery

WOMEN BEWARE! I'm incredibly angry, WOMEN DON'T GO HERE! If I could give 0 stars I would.I had my car towed here after it wouldn't start. 2 days prior I had brought it to a local auto parts store and they tested my battery and said it was fine. I figured it was the alternator because roadside jumped it before towing and when detaching the cables, it would dim and die.So I brought it here to Firestone because they were open on a Saturday, and they told me they'd do an ignition check which was perfect. The man I spoke with on Saturday was wonderful. On Monday when I heard from them again, they left a voicemail telling me I needed an alternator and new battery. I called them back, I explained to them the battery had just tested fine 2 days ago and I could install a battery in my 1997 Avalon on my own (did this before on another car just fine) but recognized the alternator needing replacing. The man I spoke with argued with me said he could not just replace the alternator, they had to do the battery, too and that I would not have the "right equipment" to do a battery replacement on my own. He refused to listen to me and claimed they needed to plug some system to prevent "data loss". My car is a 1997, it isn't a fancy 2023 electric car that needs some sort of special attention when replacing a battery. So he gave me no choice in the matter. So I received my receipt via email today after getting my car and checked it when I got home and saw at the very top (see image), that the battery courtesy check which was the initial test explained to me, for $40.99 states on my receipt "Your battery is measuring within the manufacturer's specification for required CCA. Your battery has sufficient power and should reliably start the vehicle." So apparently I was charged over $200 for a needless repair to replace a battery that tested fine!Furthermore, I DID NOT AUTHORIZE THE ADDITIONAL $92 FOR BRAKE FLUID EXCHANGE. Yet, that is at the bottom of my bill. They also listed oil change on there which thankfully the tech said not needed. I HAD JUST DONE THIS A MONTH AGO. But why is it even on there if they never mentioned or asked me?This is it for me, not only am I convinced not to ever return to any Firestone ever again, I'm going to learn what I can from my son who is taking automotive classes and invest in our own tools and use Youtube to learn how to repair my own car. I'll likely save money and my sanity. I'm going to see if there is any place I can report this to, this can't have been legal.

I took my car in last summer for diagnostics for my check engine light. I was told the downstream O2 sensor needed replacement so I agreed to that. Check engine light came back on a couple weeks later. I came back in and was told that they couldn t get the O2 sensor to fit correctly (but they kept that from me at the first visit) and there s no way to fix that besides replacing the whole catalytic converter. I asked if replacing the sensor was a waste then and they said that it was still good that they replaced it, even if it doesn t fit. Long story short, I eventually went to a different mechanic who told me that it looks like Firestone damaged the sensor while placing it and it both doesn t fit and now doesn t work because of the poor fit. So I had to get it replaced again, but this mechanic was able to actually get it to fit correctly instead of forcing it on. The Firestone employees were all very nice and the scheduling system is convenient, but unfortunately based on this situation and the money I lost on it I do not recommend getting anything complex done at Firestone. I have had fine experiences with them for basic things like oil changes.

Finding honest, empathetic, effective car service is really difficult. The first time I came to this Fierestone they were incredibly busy - customers coming in with the bell dinging, the phone ringing off the hook - and I watched for hours as the men out front patiently greeted and took care of every customer. Meanwhile I had just shown up with a major repair and asked if it could please be done by the end of the day, and they made it happen. Weeks later I got a nail in my tire and they again took care of me immediately, professionally. I sat again and watched people come and go, the morning rush crowding in. Thanks to their friendly nature I'm now on first name basis with George and Miles, and I feel very glad to live around the corner from this team I've experienced as friendly, reliable, and very willing and eager to go the extra mile - not just for me but for everyone else I've watched come in and out of their door.

Excellent customer service and car-repair expertise by Miles Cotillier and his incredible staff. I have used this Firestone location since 2007, and am impressed at the invariably excellent quality of the work done here. Miles has continued that tradition of excellence as manager. A blessed 2024 to you all at Firestone on University Drive, Durham, North Carolina.

Been going here for a year now and can't give them the benefit of the doubt anymore. Regularly understaffed and overbooked. Most recently I dropped my car off for an oil change and it was returned to me with the passenger side's window belt molding just hanging off the side of the door. The manager couldn't be bothered. Before that I took it in for scheduled maintenance and the wiper fluid was still dry after, but it was checked done on the report. I can't help but wonder what else they said they took care of (that I paid for) but didn't.

Don t bother scheduling an appointment on their website, because they ll just change your time anyways.Requested an 8am appointment days in advance. Email says they ll contact you directly if the time is unavailable to reschedule. 2nd email confirmed 11am with zero contact made by them, which did not work with my work schedule. Called to talk to them about it and see what other options there were. I was treated like a moron for thinking that giving them the diagnostic code was going to have any effect on how quickly they could fix my car. I ve used several other locations in other states, this one by far had the worst customer service.Went to Precision Auto instead, had me in and out in 2 hours, at the time I originally scheduled no less.

I brought my car in to have the tires rotated, balanced and a wheel alignment. I was told I would need tires and they refused to rotate my tires. I had them show me why my tires needed replacing and they measured at the wear indicator. The manager at the store told me that's how firestone measures tire tread. The wear indicator was not even up to the tread of the tires. These are 80k mile tires and I only have 37k miles on them. My tires have plenty of thread left on them, but they still refused to rotate my tires. For years I have been buying my tires from firestone, maybe it's time to go elsewhere.

I should've read the reviews before going however chose to go since it was nearby but I went in for a tire plug/patch job. The easiest thing you could possibly do, the very next day my tire is saying low tire pressure again because someone didn't even put the plug all the way in so air is constantly coming out. I mean if they can't plug a simple tire I wouldn't trust them with anything else. I will not be returning. Mind you this is a $10 job at most and they charged me $32! Bogus!Service: Tires

Excellent customer service, and expertise. They took good care of my truck and found some minor issues they could take care of before they became major issues. Would definitely recommend to anyone who needs work done.

Myles and his team are incredibly outstanding! They were polite, professional and their attention to customer service was the best I ve ever seen in an automobile service center. I drive for a living and needed to replace my tire ASAP. They had me diagnosed, repaired and out of there in no time at all. I m relieved that I have a go to mechanic when I m in the Durham area. Don t waste your time going anywhere else. They got you !

The checkout process was very questionable. I was never shown my invoice when paying, and the total never showed on the point of service device. When I noticed that the cost was high, I asked if there were any add on s. Turns out that lifetime alignment AND road hazard were added without my knowledge and I asked that they be removed. A customer should be asked for add on s and they should be explained to them.I believe that older patrons are being taken advantage of at this particular location, especially if the invoice is not shown to them or explained to them.

S/o to the team at this location, specifically Miles and Dom. My husband and I have been going to this location for years. Both Miles and Dom took the time to listen to my concerns and provide reasonable solutions. Dom only did the work that was necessary and Miles provided evidence of the repairs required. They will look out for you!

Was told they couldn t patch or repair a tire. Thrifty tire is currently doing it for $10. Very dissatisfied as I ve been a customer for 12 years and this location has changed that. Buy the lifetime alignment and rotation and never take your car here for anything else, make their cash flow negative and maybe corporate could do something about this branch.

Even if you're a diehard firestone user please choose a different location. Especially if you have a flat tire that needs patching. They will only try to sell you a new tire and tell you that your perfectly patchable tire is unfixable. I went up the street and got it done elsewhere for $20.

I ve used firestone a few times and they always take all day to work on the car even if you have an appointment. My tires were well within the warranty s mileage (only about 20,000 miles opposed to 50,000) but I was told that I had voided the warranty by getting my oil change somewhere else and therefore they could not know if I had my tires rotated. I asked if I could bring in receipts from other places and they said no. I was only told this after they had worked on my car and there was no other choice but to pay the over $600. Seems sketchy that I am roped into using them for all services and was not given an option of going somewhere else for my tires with a fair quote. There was one female staff member that was nice though.Service: Tires
