Have had two great experiences taking my car here this year. Really great communication and they won't recommend services you don't need. For instance, this week I took my car in for a second opinion on a very expensive repair another shop in town recommended, and not only did they tell me I didn't need that repair, but they recommended I go to the dealer for a separate issue. I really appreciated that they took the time to investigate, and then still ended up recommending I go to the dealer instead to fix the problem. Great service!

This place feels like home! I used to go to the shop on Hillsborough, but Chapel Hill Tire bought it. I went to a CHT location once and was swindled out of a large sum of money for services that the car likely didn't need. I've learned my lesson and will never go anywhere other than Durham Tire & Auto. The service managers and mechanics are kind, genuine, and straightforward. I never feel like they're trying to push services that my car doesn't need, and I never feel like the prices are unreasonable. The shop can get busy quickly, so I prefer to arrive early in the morning. Can't speak highly enough of these folks. Thank you, DT&A!

Great service! Doesn t take appointments, so arrive early if you can. I was able to come around 8am and be out by 9ish. Reasonably priced. Has a table and strong wifi, so you can work remotely while waiting. The front parking area is small, but there s a much bigger parking lot at the back of the building (just pull around the corner).

Without an appt, I drove in to get a light that came on on my dash....low air in one of my tires. I walked in and they told me the light comes on with weather changes, in this case, from warm to cold, and they said it would probably be about an hour or more wait. I was ok with that, thinking it could have taken longer. After about a 10 min wait, he brought me my keys and told me the light was off now, and everything was ok. (In hindsight, I think he was joking with me about the hour wait). I am so grateful it was nothing more than the weather that caused it and I asked how much do I owe you and he said nothing. This is how you run a business, folks. Although I live in Raleigh, I will always remember how I was treated at Durham Tire on Roxboro Rd.

Hands down, best experience I ve ever had at a tire shop. In the middle of a road trip, we got a flat on the highway and managed to limp our car in. The fine folks here got us a great price on a set of tires and got us on our way in an hour. Unbelievable. As a bonus, they were cool with letting our dog hang out with us in the waiting area while they worked on our car. Super friendly and fair people here, couldn t ask for more.

I got new tires here, and they fixed a flat for me at no charge. They have some other old fashioned loyalty benefits that I like - get your oil changed and they ll rotate tires for free, things like that. Other repairs they have done are fairly priced, and they focus on what is actually needed rather than what they can sell you.

Came on a Monday morning and was concerned I d be waiting long since there were a few people waiting ahead of me and I overheard the staff saying there was only one technician currently working. To my surprise I was in and out with new tires and my inspections in 1.5 hrs. Everyone was extremely friendly and I was pleased with the quick service. Definitely get there as early as possible in the morning though because I heard the people that came after me wouldn t get their car seen till late in the afternoon.

Had a tire blowout leaving a parking lot. Changed to a donut, and the next day looked for a tire shop. Costco had too long of a wait, this place had good reviews so figured I'd try it. They didn't have my size, but they were able to get it from a local warehouse and have it swapped in 1.5h. The guy at the desk was very friendly, took the time to advise me on which tire to get (and seemed legit), and I know he wasn't trying to upsell me because this is the first time in my life the final price was less than the initial quote. Overall very satisfied and would go there again. Also free wifi in the waiting room.

CX was excellent! My wife was on business and 4 hrs away from me. They didn't have the tire in stock but had it within 1 hour AND had the tire mounted, balanced and installed in less than 30 minutes. Good luck getting a big mac in that time! Super nice and friendly! Highly recommend! Talk to Ed

I ve been to so many repair shops over the years, and I never felt like I could fully trust them. This place however is so different. They have lots of integrity, are upfront about cost, figure out ways to help save money, and only do what s needed. Plus they re very affordable. Highly recommended!

For the past 6 six years I have had my alignments done by Pep Boys and Firestone without ever having an issue and was always given printouts showing that the toe/camber/caster were in spec. I recently had a 4 wheel alignment done on my truck here. I was told that the mechanic was unable to get the caster in spec (despite never having issues before) and was not given a printout of the alignment specs. The tech said that it should not affect the tire wear or steering and that it was driving straight when he tested it. This was definitely not the case as my truck now drives worse than when I brought it in and will steer itself right off the road within a couple of seconds. I cannot recommend this business based on this service. (failed) Alignment cost: ~94$ with tax

Another shop tried to unnecessarily sell us a full set of tires when all we needed was a quick patch. This place gave us an honest and good estimate and fixed the tire with a patch. If we had needed new tires the quality of tires they quoted was better and the prices were lower than one of the chain shops. Highly recommend this shop!

If you need work done on your car, this place is spectacular! I needed to take care of my cars breaks, and they were able to get me in very quickly at the end of the day to look at what was needed. I was there for maybe 20 minutes and had a very reasonable quote and appointment scheduled for the next day. The work took exactly as long as they had estimated, and my car is driving fantastic again. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The cost was exactly what the estimate was. I HIGHLY recommend this location for anyone who needs car repairs. You will get what you paid for and more!

We've used Durham Tire for years now. Always great service, and reasonable prices. Courteous and helpful. They've always repaired our cars with no issues. We also always go there for oil changes and tires. Can't say enough good things about this shop!

Amazing service by Ed Summey at Durham Tire & Auto Center. I had a blow out on my boat trailer while traveling. I called several places, waited on the phone extended amounts of time just to hear that they did not have what I needed. Then I lucked out when Ed answered the phone at Durham Tire. He is knowledgeable and professional and has such a positive attitude that put ease into my stressful situation. Ed didn t have the trailer tires in stock, but that didn t slow him down, he special ordered them, his crew went out of there way to pick them up immediately, so when I got to his shop, they mounted my new tires & I was back on the road in 15 minutes!Many thanks to Ed & crew at Durham Tire & Auto center. If you need tires, this is THE place to go.

Great people! Very friendly and polite. They know their job and they do it well. Very reasonable price for the quality of service they provide. I saw a lot of repeat customers in the short time that I was there. I highly recommend Durham Tire & Auto Center!

I had several cars inspected when I was buying used off craigslist and they gave me good advice and never charged a thing. The work they ve done for me has been good and fairly priced. I trust them and never feel they are trying to oversell. They are also pretty quick and will work around your schedule if you need something done fast. I recommend them to all my friends and neighbors! 5 stars

very professional! i called days beforehand to ask how much my brake pads would cost to be replaced and he said it would be 140 picked up my car yesterday and was happy to find out their prices stayed the same. its nice when u can find a mechanic that has consistent prices. also, the staff was friendly and professional. definitely going to be my 'go to' place for any future car problems.

The folks at Durham Tire are knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, and thorough! I took a used truck I was considering purchasing to them and had an excellent experience - it was checked over, explained in detail to me, and eventually purchased & repaired!Probably because they are so awesome, the shop is usually quite busy. Go early if you have a bigger job that needs done :)

We love Durham Tire on Roxboro Road! Been going there for more than 15 years. Have never walked away wondering if this was the kind of repair shop that took advantage of women who might not know too much about cars. They are polite, helpful, funny, and always willing to explain what s going on. Prices are very reasonable and they ll do what they can to save you money. Never any pressure to make extra repairs and I ve never had an issue with any work they ve ever done on my vehicles.

Great guys! Ed at the front desk is professional and friendly. He looked at my truck and determined it didn't need an alignment so did not charge me for it - despite the effort of putting it on the lift twice. They also had a very reasonable rate for a 2-wheel alignment. Not all shops have a lift that can accommodate a full-size truck. Highly recommended.

This review is long overdue, but these guys certainly deserve 5-stars. Several months ago I needed my car inspected and in order to pass inspection, a valve within the heating/cooling system needed to be replaced. I also had the coolant flushed and replaced. Throughout my experience, I received courteous, timely service and the associates were communicative and patient with my many questions. I appreciate that the manager always took time to explain what was going on with my car and what my options were.I had also procrastinated on getting my inspection done and the fact that I failed the first time further complicated the issue. These guys went above and beyond to save me from incurring a late fee.I also had an issue with my car right after it was serviced at Durham Tire and had to have it towed back to them (apparently replacing coolant fluid in a Prius is a bit tricky - and the issue was nothing major, just some lingering air bubbles). I was very impressed by how they handled the situation. My car was towed and re-serviced at no additional cost to me. Their efficiency and professionalism in resolving the issue speaks volume about their integrity and dedication to superb customer service. And my car has been doing wonderfully since.

I normally take my vehicles to the dealership but that stopped over a year ago since I have been using Durham Tire and Auto. The gentlemen there are always pleasant to work with. They do an awesome job of explaining what is wrong with the vehicle to see how you want to proceed. I really appreciate the level of customer service that they provide as it is a rare find!

Best place in Durham to get tires or have your car serviced. The owners are straightforward, honest and easy to work with. Work is done promptly, and their communication is great.If you can t tell, I highly recommend them!
