The service and advice I received from this shop was top notch, professional, helpful and friendly. One of the technicians knew what some of the issues and problems were going on with my vehicle within fifteen minutes of driving it. Probably less. You want good business and someone who knows what they're doing? Crazy Charlie has got you.

'Crazy' Charlie & his crew are wonderful to work with. He's honest & his customers become just like his team, we become family. He explains repairs needed in a way that is easy to understand & he gives you choices. Lastly, but certainly not least, Charlie is a Christian man & his runs his business the way he lives his life, as a Godly man. He reminds me a great deal of my uncle who had his own shop prior to his death, he was also a Crazy Charlie.I highly recommend C&C Auto on Wolfpack Dr for all of your Auto Repair needs (& a prayer or two as well).

For now I have not visited the garage, but upon hearing excellent comments I also took on the task of giving them 5 stars. I have a problem with my car and it is very, very likely that I will visit them tomorrow.

I was referred to C and C by a friend who had been a customer for many years. I went on behalf of a young mom with limited financial means & had some money for repairs that my church had donated. Charlie was kind and honest. He charged a fair price, spend a considerable amount of time teaching the owner how to maintain & check her car. He fixed only what was necessary for her safety and wrote out a plan for her of what to watch for, what to fix next, & what maintenance would be required in the future. Charlie & his wife Carol are gems!Service: General repairs & maintenance

I never leave reviews but I am today because Charlie is the absolute best. I found him when I first moved to Durham a couple years ago and he's been nothing but incredibly helpful. Having grown up with motor savvy brothers and never needing a mechanic, I was hesitant to outsource my problems :). He takes the time to not only diagnose issues but then explain what's going on, which I really value, and is very fair with his prices. Aside from Charlie, everyone who works at this shop is friendly and helpful, from the folks at the front desk to other mechanics working in the garage. Carol & Charlie were two of the sweetest people I have ever met. I was heading back home after graduating college and about 40 minutes into my 8 hour drive my car felt like it was going to explode. I called and spoke with Charlie and explained to him my situation. As soon as I arrived Charlie put my car on the lift immediately. He fixed the joint that was causing the issue. He made sure to walk me through every step and teach me about what was wrong with my car. He even pointed out other issues to get fixed when I got home. Instead of waiting to get the part delivered Charlie was kind enough to pick the part up himself because he wanted to make sure I got back on the road as soon as possible. After my car was diligently worked on, Charlie and another employee test drove it to make sure the car was safe for my trip home. Carol and I chatted the entire time and she even gave me snacks for my trip home. Cannot thank them and their explorers enough for the great work and hospitality! I highly recommend them to anyone. Crazy Charlie and his better half Carol, have been taking care of my 3 vehicles for over 10 years. The only thing I regret, is not knowing about them sooner. They are simply the best!

Excellent service! Charlie and team did an excellent diagnosing and repairing a brake issue on our 2003 Subaru. This issue was not resolved by 2 previous mechanics. We have found our mechanic in Durham. Charlie and staff are super nice and showed me what was causing the issue and the steps they took to repair it.

I would genuinely drive over an hour to ensure my vehicles and I have the level of care that Carol and Charlie provide before even considering an oil change at another shop. Charlie is such a excellent car doctor, that I now feel the need to find a new doctor for myself to match Charlie's expertise and quality of care. I've only been to C&C twice (more than a year apart), and they treated me like family on both occasions despite meeting new front end staff each visit. Though their property/location may appear unassuming, the service you will receive is premier. Indoors, there is a small automotive-themed waiting area with ample seating, great A/C, a kids play area, and wifi access if you need to get work done or just need a place to relax while you wait.What really sets Charlie apart from other mechanics/technicians, is the way he will shine a light on every step of the process before moving on to the next step: he will respectfully listen to your full explanation of your needs, perform very thorough diagnostics, show you ON your car or ON the related parts what is causing an issues or sound you heard and he EXPLAINS in accessible terms exactly why that issue is present, what options there are to fix it, how urgent of a concern is is, and how to avoid having similar problems in the future.In addition to their great skill, customer service, and fair pricing, these folks even spend their free time giving back to the community in the form of voluntarily taking on major roles in large scale fundraising events including building a water trailer to help keep the participants safe and hydrated for the National MS Society's Bike MS event! Whether you want a trustworthy evaluation of a used-car you want to buy, need routine maintenance, or have a major repairs, you can trust C&C with your automotive needs. Hands down, Charlie is a magician. My little car has had an electrical short for five years that multiple mechanics couldn t find. I ve spent more time and money on this short than sense and it made it impossible to drive at night as it took out my rear lights.By sheer dumb luck, we found C and C on here and took a chance on a last ditch effort to maybe get it finally fixed.Charlie found the short in just a few hours. Knowing how much the car had already been combed over, I can say with absolute confidence that Charlie is extremely thorough and an excellent diagnostican.He was honest, fair, and frankly, just a straight magician.Thank you, Charlie. You have made a five year frustration finally end. You are incredible.

We have been bringing all of our company and personal vehicles to C&C Automotive for years. Never have we had a complaint! They're knowledgeable, transparent, and priced fairly. Do you ever have a nagging feeling about dealing with a mechanic? Well, put you mind at ease when you deal with C&C Automotive in Durham. I come over from Raleigh to have my vehicles repaired. Charlie Thompson is as honest as the day is long. He 's the type of business you which you had for any repairs. I trust him implicitly to tell me what the best plan is for me and my car. Now, if I could only convince him to go into HVAC, Tree Service, Plumbing....Services: Electrical repair, Exhaust, Steering & suspension repair, Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair

Not once, not twice, not three times, but four times Crazy Charlie and the folks and C&C Automotive have saved me a bundle over what other mechanics were charging. I live in south Chapel Hill, so it is inconvenient to get up to C&C. I was first recommended to check them out by a friend when I was skeptical of a radiator quote I received for my Dodge Intrepid. They took care of me for hundreds less than I had been quoted. Next my wife's Mitsubishi needed brake work and again the quote seemed too high. Crazy Charlie took care of it for under half what I'd been quoted. My intrepid needed steering work done and a Chapel Hill shop wanted to charge me $2,500 to fix it, and C&C did what was needed for $600. Finally, a transmission went out on our Toyota Sequioia and we were quoted $6,000 to fix it. C&C got creative, scrounged around, and found a good one for $2,500. That was over a year ago and it runs great. The other guys were 4 separate shops! I finally found a local guy I trust for the small stuff. But for any real troubleshooting, I still go to C&C because he knows how to troubleshoot and get granular like no one else I've seen.

I was in with my Hyundai last month for an air conditioning problem. They found a leak in one of the lines and had it fixed the same day. The price was fair and I met Crazy Charlie and had a nice chat when I picked the car up. Great guy and someone you know immediately you can trust.

I've taken my vehicles to Crazy Charlie for several years and have been very pleased with each one of my visits. He is very knowledgeable, personable, and honest. I have never had any parts or services pushed on me that weren't necessary and he will explain exactly why something is needed or not in plain English. It's hard to find great service like that in any area of the market, let alone auto care.

03 Lincoln Navigator - rear AC vent door flapping - Ford dealership quoted minimum of $600 to max of $1200 + parts (included removal of inside rear & side cover panels to get to rear unit, at least that was the narrative of their service managers to explain cost). C&C diagnosed issue and replaced actuator switch, within a couple of hours, at a 1/4 of the cost the Dealership had quoted, with NO over-sell. C&C saved me @ $800 compared to Dealership. Maybe I got lucky, but I don't think so.Crazy Charlie (and C&C team) were phenomenal not only with their upfront honesty in providing TRUE customer satisfaction but in also finding and providing a cost-effective repair with no over-sell for this or that, if not truly needed.In these times, it is very hard to find a truly honest, experienced and reputable team of automotive experts who truly look out for the customer, relative to satisfaction & cost of repairs. This shop will have my repeat automotive repair business from this day forward. No matter what the issue, C&C can handle it and still be cost-effective.

I went to C&C and was very sceptical as to what it would cost to fix OLD BLUE my favorite truck's a/c unit.I have been to several top mechanics in Durham and Chapel Hill a lot of them have passed away. I was very fortunate to see C&C's ad online.They fixed my A/C and a steering column problem I have had for years for way less than anyone else.I highly recommend their services here in Durham!

This is one out of two best mechanics I've ever worked with. I went b/c I was told that my engine was knocking by one company and then told that I needed a new cylinder head by another person. I went to get it checked out and was told that my engine was fine and the noise is typical for my vehicle (Jeep Grand Cherokee). He did my oil change, checked all of my fluids and air pressure in my tires including the spare tire! He also changed the filter in my transmission when we realized that my transmission fluid was overfilled. The pricing was reasonable and I was very satisfied. Being that I know little about cars, I am very skeptical about who I work with, because I don't want anyone getting over on me. I found just that. Plus, my son was kept entertained and loves going there as if it was a fun park.

This shop has never failed to correctly diagnose a problem and repair it promptly. They guarantee their work and don't recommend unnecessary work. Their labor rates are comparable to those of any local repair garage. I trust them completely with any car.
