I called road assistance in Durham several times yesterday around 4:00. No one answered. I called the other AAA number for car repair, they answered, said I needed roadside assistance, so they tried to get through to roadside assistance to help me. No one answered for them either. Finally a Good Samaritan stopped and gave me a jump. I m a AAA PLUS member. I was by a store, SO glad I wasn t on the road. Feel insecure now about getting needed help!

I had a screw in my tire, that multiple locations told me was patchable, but could not fit me in due to volume. I came to AAA and after waiting an hour, was told that my tires are in good shape with "lots of tread left", but they would not patch and even added that they could not imagine another reputable place patching either. They told me they suggested buying 4 new tires for my AWD car though (over 1000$). I left, found another reputable repair shop that patched the superficial hole within 5 minutes of having it in the garage and could not believe I was told what I was told by AAA. There is no way I would now trust any car diagnostic that they shared after such a clear attempt at a money grab.

I will never return to this location. I along with several other customers and people that I know, feel that this company price gauges for repairs. I went in as a first time customer and I will never return again. They failed my inspection over a wiper blade and wanted $59.00 for just one wiper blade. Not to mention a list of repairs needed to be done worth $2200. My car is not in bad shape at all, and I have spoke to other mechanics and shown them my report from this bogus location, and they all feel that this place took advantage because Im a woman. And the prices charged do not make sense. This is outrageous and you all should really be ashamed. AAA is not worth what I thought it was. I will never come back and everyone that I talk too says the same. Why are you charging so much? Your mechanics do nothing but joke around all day. Kept me for an hour and a half for nothing. This location and everyone in it is a total joke. They deserve no stars.

The folks here are so, so kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. I love the transparency in cost and the support in deciding what to fix now and what can wait. Making appointments is so easy online. I m at a point now where I don t want to take my car anywhere else. Thank you, all at AAA in Research Triangle, for being so wonderful with me!

These guys, especially Terry, went above and beyond to help me out when my tire blew out. I had no other means of transportation, and they stayed late to put tires on my car. They are all very nice and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this AAA car shop.

I made an appointment for a state inspection. I was later told they can t honor my appointment due to my car being a Tesla. It is a simple state safety inspection and I m a AAA member. Very disappointed. It would be nice to be a member of a club that welcomes ALL brands.

I called to make an address change, and once again, the staff was courteous and helpful. I enjoy AAA because I can trust that they will be there for me and my family.

I took my car here in July for an oil change and left with a quote for almost $1,000 of repair work. Here is the services breakdown of said quote:- Replace the valve cover gasket that s causing an oil leak: took the car to multiple mechanics and a dealership, every one of them said my valve cover gasket was in perfectly fine condition and was not leaking.- CVT Transmission Fluid flush: my car doesn t even have a CVT, just a standard automatic transmission. You can t do a CVT fluid flush on a car that doesn t have a CVT, plain and simple.- Coolant flush: only thing here the dealership agreed that the car needed and they quoted me $75 less than AAA did to do it.- Oil Change: They did the oil change, and 2800 miles later my low oil light comes on. Ok, not good. Take it to the dealer, they tell me whoever did their last oil change (AAA) did not tighten the filter nor drain plug tight enough during the previous change, resulting in a leak from both locations. So my car arguably left in worse condition that when I brought it there. In short, don t let this place touch your car. The staff was nice, but nice can only go so far when they are trying to charge you hand over fist for problems that not just don t need fixing, but outright don t exist. Save yourself the trouble and go to a local mechanic, honestly your local dealership would probably be both easier to deal with and cheaper.

Zero stars please take your car elsewhere!! I waited a while to post this but here we go ! PLEASE READ before going there with your vehicle!! My car was having trouble with the battery. I took it to this location to have the battery changed. I also got my rear drums cleaned while I was at it however, the only service performed was the rear drum cleaning. My battery was not replaced although I paid $200 for a new battery. The very next day, again, my car wouldn t start. Took a look under my hood to discover that a new battery had not been installed and the location manager Garrett admitted that my battery was not changed. In the process of taking my car back to have the battery actually replaced, I began having other issues that didn t occur prior to service at this location. I am now having to shell out thousands of dollars to fix problems I didn t have before taking my car here. They are dishonest and tried to take advantage of me. They tried to tell me that my check engine light was on prior to service, that was not true. They tried to make it seem like one big coincidence. Do not trust!!

The staff at this AAA offered to help me as soon as as I walked in the door. They were familiar with what they had to offer and when I told them what I wanted they readily got it together. They offered to make me a TripTik but I wasn't exactly sure of what my plans were. They told me that they could do it later when I knew more of what I wanted. Wow! It has been so many years since someone offered to make me a TripTik that I didn't know that AAA still made them. Kudos, Ladies. Job well done!

I give 5 stars to the agent who helped me in person off HWY 55. But of note, when you call the local number and no one picks up the phone, the phone rolls over to another location it could be in South Carolina. If the person answering the phone at the other location doesn't tell you where they are you might assume that you need to go to the office you originally phoned. Don't be fooled. I nearly was. Glad I didn't go to the South square location which was actually closed.

The staff at this branch was really outstanding. They were really good at changing their plans for my car's servicing based on what I needed and what I had done previously (this was my first time at this site). I trusted them. The price of service was very reasonable. They were also super nice! I will definitely be going here again.Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine tuning, Tire rotations, Oil changeServices: Air & cabin filter replacement, General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine tuning, Tire rotations, Oil change

They didn t diagnose my car correctly and did work that didn t get my car working. I had it towed to a dealership who diagnosed the correct issue and covered it under warranty of a known issue. If the issue is more complex that a battery, flat tire or simple repair I would not have them do the work.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Engine repairServices: General repairs & maintenance, Engine repair

AAA has been very disappointing. They are basically robbing people. Beware - they will super overcharge you for simplest of repair and also try to sell you bunch of unnecessary repairs. Save your money! Take your car to some honest mechanic.I had my car towed to AAA because my gear was shifter was not working. It's a minor problem since there is nothing wrong with the transmission or the engine. All it needed was a bushing replaced. A day later they called me and confirm everything was fine and it just needed a new bushing. At the same time, they recommended a bunch of work (belts, engine air filter, gaskets, headlight restoration, brake pad and rotors, steering fluids and break fluids). Total would be around $2,200. Then he said, they at least recommend the bushing, engine belt, headlight restoration gasket and would cost $1700. He was set on selling the headlight restoration package. When I asked what will be the cost if he only replaced the bushing? He said, around $700!!! Then he went on saying "I am not even charging for the part since I have it in store." Well, I know the bushing costs only $3. I told him not to do any work and I will just pick up my car. He said it will be $156 for the diagnosis they performed! So, I paid $156 and drove my car out of there!I called a local auto shop, and they said the bushing costs $3 and with labor it will be $125. You can even DYI it if for $3 total expense you are handy with a screwdriver.I used to get my oil change and other small work done at AAA but I will NEVER return again. I will even cancel my membership at this point.

I like having one place I can take my car for servicing. This AAA fits my needs.Let me explain. A customer can leave their car and they will arrange to get you to work and pick you up to get your car. They tell you what they fine BEFORE performing any repairs giving you the opportunity to tell them what you want done. Everything that's done on your car is itemized on paper and explanations given. I fine these folks forthcoming and patient with all my questions. I have lots of questions. As a woman I'm always concerned that I'll be taken advantage of when it comes to car repairs. The dealership for my car is too expensive. AAA is more reasonable and thus far I fine this AAA trustworthy. Thanks, guys.

Each step of my brake replacement process was very through. Every person that helped me in the store and in the shop helped make the repair process very comprehensive. Special thanks to Joshua! The Digital Vehicle Inspection sent to my phone provided an extra layer of transparency that helped me feel confident in following through with the services needed.Services: Auto brake repair, Vehicle Inspection, Brakes

All employees were friendly & professional, esp. Gia & Garrett & bow tie man whose name I didn't get & the mechanic. Never felt like I was getting ripped off bec I am a woman. The very detailed exam & review of all the results put my mind at ease that the work they suggested was necessary. As a woman, this is the 1st time I didn't worry about getting ripped off. I will be a return customer. I highly recommend this establishment.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Tire rotations, Vehicle safety inspection, Auto maintenance, Oil change

I had just an excellent experience today. They even spent almost T H I R T Y minutes on the phone raking through my recommended diganostics and repairs to help me really itemize what I should get done today and what I should budget for. I am confident in the work. I am confident in my future work. This place is just amazing for someone like me. I really feel like they know what they are doing - my car was in the same condition when I picked it up on the interior - only driving much smoother!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Wheel alignment, Brakes, Oil change

I spotted this facility as I was on my way home. I had recently moved to Durham and transferring my AAA membership had been on my to do list.On stepping inside I was greeted by the service manager. Upon explaining my need, he directed me to Carole. She set me up with the appropriate membership plan, dropped my wife's membership (she no longer drives), furnished a temporary membership card, and told me how to cancel my old club membership and get a refund. An efficient process and pleasant.

No one care about customer arrival until ask someone in the counter., after asking also put me waited until unplanned customer took service. The lady took me to the vehicle and explained service needed. After discussing for same day delivery after 3 day no one called me back about vehicle and went there personally to get vehicle addressed., They did not delivered to the promised time., I missed two business appointments due to the delay of car. Customer service is not customer focused.Thank youSrini

The cops were called on me by an employee for simply waiting for a ride. I had my truck towed here, by a AAA tow truck funnily enough, and I was waiting for my wife to pick me up as they allow you to drop off your keys and vehicle after hours. It is 37 degrees right now and, seeing as they re closed, I decided to wait in my truck. I had the cab light and my headlights on so as not to look suspicious. I even had my truck running for a bit with the heat on. Lo and behold, a cop car circles the area with lights flashing right after my wife arrives to pick me up.I asked the cop, nice guy by the way, if I had done anything wrong and he informs me that an employee called them because I was there. No one ever approached me to ask why I was there. No one saw a giant tow truck drop my vehicle off, nor me conversing with a AAA tow truck driver. However, it s apparently fine to call the cops without any context. A small part of me understands. You re worried about trouble and call the cops, as one should. However, when said person isn t causing any problems and you have a drop-off service, why is the only option to call the cops? Did no one foresee people needing to wait for rides after having unexpected vehicle malfunctions? Especially when temperatures are less than ideal? I haven t even spoken to anyone yet and I already wish I had my vehicle towed elsewhere.

Staff is very friendly and non patronizing but they try to sell more than my dealer does. It's nice how the quote breakdowns all the costs but a $500 job ended up being a $4k quote with extra labor fees and unnecessary services. It was more expensive than the dealerService: BrakesService: Brakes

I had really worse experience at AAA with Gia. We went to stop by at AAA to renew our membership. Gia asked us, what can we help you. We told her, that we need to renew our membership. Then she asked, about us car. We told her, that car engine gives a problem sometimes and a/c. She want us to drop it off the next morning. We did. They take a took it and called us, that this need to be done, before you drive far with this car. We said ok, please fix what needs to be. They did. After 3 days car start doing the same this. My a/c was working before ok, now give does not work at all. They changed us $1200.00 to fix some minor things. But, my car is doing the same thing, what was before. They did only only change for $1200.00. Please be aware from AAA or do not go to GIa at all. Worse service ever had in life.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Engine repair, Battery, Oil change

When calling over the phone, I was given an estimate on price and time of 1hr. I was told the part needed would be ordered and delivered in time for my appointment. However, once I arrived and the employee I spoke to on the phone saw I was black, their entire demeanor changed. I was then asked if they could hold my car overnight and told me the time estimate over the phone did not matter. After explaining that I would not be able to leave my car, the service was only extended to an additional 30mins. I chose to wait and asked if the time estimate changes, please notify me.After an hour and half later, I asked for an update on the completion. I was then talked down to by the same person I have been speaking to all day. The time estimate was again extended to a vague few hours or so response. Then, I was told they did not even have the part they needed to complete the service. My car is sitting on a lift 2hrs later with no work done. I will NEVER give these people my business again. I am convinced my race is the only reason for the level of poor professionalism and blatant disrespect from this location.I do NOT recommend for people of color. The person that helped we was Gia Graniela. NOT AT ALL customer friendly or respectful to me once face to face. COMPLETELY different over the phone.
