Needed drive shaft vibration addressed on 2008 Tacoma. Technician quickly diagnosed a failing U joint and promptly replaced it to get me back on the road within a couple of hours.Grateful for the honest service and pricing.Service: Transmission repair

Need 2 driveshafts reworked after another small shop install universal joints and ended up with driveline vibrations. Shop was not too busy the day I brought the driveshafts in to be reworked and they jumped right on them. Replaced universal joints and balanced both units. They ground all the loose rust off the driveshafts, sanded them and then check for high spots on the shafts and cut off original OE balance weights. This is a smart thing to do as it is best to start over with balance once new parts are installed. The longer shaft had a few high spots, so they spot heated and cooled a few small areas on the shaft to get it more true. Once shafts were balanced, they painted them as well.Reinstalled both driveshafts and vibrations were gone!!These guys are part artists, part magicians and do quick and quality work. This shop primarily focuses on driveshaft, differentials and axle work, but I believe they will do other work.They have the ability to cut and weld custom shafts as well as repair original equipment probably back to better than new.Few places do this work any more and when you need this type of service, consider Universal Automotive Service, Inc, in Concord. I am glad I found them and I am very happy with their workmanship!

I needed a drive shaft balanced, fast. Not only did these guys have it knocked out in less than 2 hours, Frank and his team were just super nice people. Down to earth, professional as all get out. Where has this place been all my life? Will not ever use anybody else.

Awesome quick service. Upfront about all the charges. Fixed my driveshaft in about an hour and I was out the door for much cheaper than anywhere else I've ever taken my car. Not only that but my car was flawless after the work was done. Same can't be said for most other places I've taken my car. Will certainly be going back for any work I need.

I was recommended by another shop to come here and have my rear differential repaired, and I'm glad I did! Friendly, Fast and Professional. If any other issues arise Universal Automotive is my first pick.

I dropped off a universal joint for agriculture equipment 3 weeks ago today and asked if he could help me and he said yes. Over a week of waiting for a response I called and was told all the parts were in a Georgia warehouse. Cost was $314.00. Since I had a piece of equipment down for over a week already I told him to overnight the parts so I could get going. He said ok and called me the next day and said all parts but one were in so I went to pick up what was there and he said the total was $580.00. I asked why so much and he said because there were shipped from 2 different places so I had to pay 2 different overnight charges. I said that wasn't right and he said he couldn't eat it and all he would do is reduce my total by 10%. This isn't the first time I have had issues with Frank but it will be my last. Just not good business at all.

They are the best . Had emergency situation with my motor home, a recap from a tire let go on rt.77 to Charlotte from a tractor trailer and it destroyed the exhaust system on my RV. When the exhaust was hanging the tailpipe was dragged under the left rear tire and the muffler hit the driveshaft and bent it. They were the best he said he could straighten it. It took him about an hour to fix it. It's better than new . I had to drive 500 mile to get back home. The drive shaft was PERFECT. Thank you again. Your the best.

Had a squeaking coming from the rear end 40,000 miles after I had been involved in an accident. At Universal Automotive they determined that that squeaking was due to my rear axle being slightly bent causing the whole hub assembly to move incorrectly.Was super quick to help fix the problem and did it at a very fair price. I will definitely be back, these guys are amazing!

Based on over the phone pricing for my custom drive shaft, 03 Chevy S10Frank gave me options, and estimates, that were very competitively priced. I decided to call Universal Auto after 3 different references/referrals from others, and so far, those folks were right!

My car shakes while accelerating and I suspected bad U-joints on the driveshaft. Frank and his staff gladly said they would test drive it. They came back from the test drive, put it up on the lift in the shop, and tell me that they agree that the driveshaft needs replacement. Their quote for a replacement driveshaft was high in my opinion, so I said I would just drive the car back home and fix it myself. Frank then told me I owed him $53. He never informed me that there would be any cost for the test drive and I never told them to put it up on the lift. I discussed this concern with Frank and he acknowledged that he should have told me about the charge prior to test driving it and putting it up on the lift. However, he insisted on charging me anyway, so I just politely paid him for the $53 for the 15 minutes of his time that he spent on my car and moved on. Definitely not a good business practice to not inform customers of your charges beforehand.

I really recommend this man to everyone. I went to several places and they couldn't help. They said my driveshaft needed the plug pulled from life support. I called up this doctor and he had me fixed in two hours. I'm in my Dodge as we speak. Appreciate it bro

Had them shorten my driveshaft 1". Dropped it off at 12 and they called me at 1:30 ready to be picked up. They, shortened it, pressed in new ujoints, balanced it and even threw a coat of paint on it! Best prices in town and they are very knowledgable!

Had a driveshaft lengthened 1", dropped the driveshaft off at 9:30 am and it was done by 12, fast and reasonably priced! Will be using them in the future for any driveshaft needs

The worst place to every go to we had to the same thing done 4 times and after the said it was under warranty it was not the still charged us each time and acted like it was our fought that they could not get the seal right and then on top of that they done my friends car to and his was leaking to the will not call you back and when you go up there to try to get it fix they tell you they are booked up and they will call you this place needs to be shut down I would never recommend anybody going here not in less you won t more problems to fixService: Steering & suspension repair
