WORST experience ever. Purchased a brand new 2023 Passport off the showroom floor in late August. 800 miles in the car completely failed. Went into limp mode with every light flashing failure . After looking at the car, they couldn t figure it out and sent me home with a vehicle that became disabled again on the freeway. Yet again, when I had to park the car and have it towed the first time back to the dealership. I was told by an employee that they should have never let me have the car back that it was dangerous. Most recently, the car lost complete power. It had to be torn out of my garage by a tow truck. The tow towing company told me that the car could not be put in neutral so I had a 50-50 chance of having transmission, problems and problems in the future with the car. In addition damaging the tires. I decided I had it and wanted to upgrade to a Pilot and get rid of this problem after problem. Brad, the manager never even got off his seat to acknowledge or apologize for all of my inconvenience. I lost two days of work and had serious frustration. He presented a completely ridiculous offer of upgrading with me forking over an additional 14,000!!! Continuing to go down to 9,000 for a car model that has a difference of around $1000.00. The dealership requested I remove my initial review while they reviewed the situation but never presented a decent or agreeable response.We contacted Sonic automotive and everyone just points the finger at the other. No help at all from anyone

Honestly, the reviews do not lie. I ve had multiple issues Sonic owned dealerships in the Nashville area that were horrendous. I ve entered luxury dealerships and been ignored to even just dismissed when asking pertinent questions about a current transaction. Latest issue was with Audi and I was w/the VIP Services that included Leigh and needed clarification on the upcoming delivery. I know dates were somewhat uncertain (well I learned after securing deal as process was not explained by sales) with deliveries from port. I reached out to get status on if vehicle was on truck in route to dealership and if it was not, I wanted to look at another vehicle on the lot so I could receive it by 12.31 for tax purposes. I asked those specific questions numerous times w/leigh on thread and her even asking him to address it. Jeff Dyke was even on thread and still no one stepped in to get answers to questions I asked. I eventually canceled deal on 12.23 and GM stated he was sorry he couldn t meet my expectations. These were expectations his staff set.Unfortunately, I do feel the dismissiveness was because I am a minority woman and they felt I was not owed a response. Any dealer I spoke with was appalled yet not surprised as this is common with Sonic Dealerships. I intend to voice my concerns further so no other minority experiences this.

Purchased a new car from Town and Country Ford in Charlotte. Sales manager overly pushy. Vehicle tires were overinflated. Vehicle had a fuel tank issue that took the dealership 3 weeks to fix after involving Ford Corporate. The service advisor did not want to deal with warranty work and ignored the issue until Ford Corporate followed up. Such a bizzare dysfunctional greedy dealership.

There s a lot of potential for this to be a positive car buying venue. But, it stopped way short of that for me. Here s why. This group owns a ton of dealerships, so you can buy almost any make or model you want. With this in mind. I took my trade to one of their dealerships and got a trade in value established ( in writing) and having been told that any Sonic owned dealership would honor the value that had been determined on site at that sister dealership, I began narrowing my choices. Then , when I searched all ( Sonic owned) dealerships and found the car I wanted I reached out to them . Not only did they not honor the price given to me prior, they added over 1200$ in additional fees.I am glad to know how they operate. I was lucky I found out before I got taken advantage of. Lots of people aren t that fortunate. If you still choose to do business with them at least you ll do it eyes wide open. I m going to keep looking. There s got to be an honest above board place I can feel good about giving my business to.

Believe the reviews. Sonics BMW of Birmingham is the same way. After the sale you will never be able to get anyone on the phone. Can t even talk to anyone at Sonic because they have no customer service number listed. When you do finally get their customer service number. No one answers the phone there either. Worst experience ever!

We had the worst experience ever for such an upscale dealership. Their corporate office was no help. We ve left several messages and no one has gotten back to us.Beware this place is a rip off and you will get scammed. We purchased 3 cars, one for me and two for our boys who went off to college. We had an issue with all 3 cars. One of the used cars from their echo park dealership completely died. Needs a new engine. We ve reached out repeatedly. Keep being told to call Vicky Comer which obviously is a joke. Went as far as asking for Mr. Bruton Smith the owner and still nothing.We finally decided to turn this into a legal matter. All 3 cars from Sonic are parked and will not be driven. Several people told us to go to Hendrix so we tried them out and purchased 3 brand new cars from them. We ve experienced the absolute best car buying experience. Told them all about our Sonic experience and they were not shocked at all.I definitely highly recommend staying away from this place. We ve also shared this experience and review on social media since we have very large followings so the message is spreading quick.Buyers beware. Stay away from here!

Wanted to share a great buying experience from Sonic Automotive/ David Waterman / North Central Ford in Texas. I purchased a used Ford Explorer a few months back in March. Truck was delivered as is and I love it. It is a 2016 model with higher mileage, 76,000+. After 2 weeks the touchscreen stopped responding. After some troubleshooting it turns out it needed to be replaced. $1000 to repair...no warranty....I reached out to David Waterman at Sonic and he went the extra mile for me. He worked with the dealer and helped to negotiate a 50% credit to the repair. It was unexpected and above and beyond my expectations. I ve purchased a few vehicles from Sonic in the past and I ll do so in the future. If you re in the market for a new or used vehicle and want an honest and transparent experience....then look no further than Sonic and David Waterman!

I was dreading the car buying/leasing process, but Sonic Automotive made the experience extremely enjoyable- nothing to dread at all! Everyone I dealt with from the Sonic Automotive team was extremely professional and customer service oriented. I am beyond pleased with my new SUV from Mercedes Benz of Nashville. The process was a breeze. David Smith, CEO of Sonic, has assembled a superior team! Can t wait to buy all my future cars from Sonic Automotive!

Incredibly easy process once again. I've bought more than fifteen vehicles from Sonic dealerships and referred countless more friends. I went for my last purchase to the new Echo Park store and once again, the experience was phenomenal. The salesperson was very knowledgeable and the Manager came over to introduce himself as well. The entire transaction was easy to do. Thanks so much for another awesome experience!

Had the most wonderful experience with Sonic Automotive. We purchased a new car a couple months after my son was born, and the Sonic team was so efficient and kind and ensured I didn't have to wait at the dealership with my newborn son more than necessary. Highly recommend!

I bought a brand new vehicle through Sonic Automotive VIP program with a very good discount. Danielle helped me to find the car dealers and offered a good deal on my new generation vehicle. I m very happy with this buying experience. Definitely I will buy vehicles from Sonic in the future, and I highly recommend Sonic Automotive and Danielle!

I dealt with a dealership in Chattanooga, TN which I was lied to by three people these ppl the corporation would not call me to try and fix the problem. They got their legal team involved you can goto nissian of chattanooga east bbb complaints you can read how I was treated by the gm. I would not recommend any sonic automotive dealership.

The Sonic Automotive vip & concierge service for car buying was hands down the best automotive buying experience i have ever had. Literally in less than an hour from my initial phone call, they found the car i wanted in another state and completed the purchase. The value and service was outstanding and the convenience was incredible. Could not be happier.

NEVER DO BUSINESS HERE. Was at this dealership for 6 HOURS. Refused to fill our car up and left us with less than a quarter tank. Would not detail the car and did a terrible job washing it. They do not negotiate prices. Had to find a different bank to finance our car because of their lack of being thorough. They kept trying to force the warranty and gap insurance on us after we said no multiple times. The lady tried to tell us what we would be paying without even running our credit. They are a bunch of con artists. I have no positive things to say about this place. We were taken advantage of because we are young and loved the car. I love the car, but I cannot wait until we build some credit so we don t have to go to scammy places like this. Save yourselves money and a headache.

Absolutely horrible company! They ve been holding on to a GAP refund for longer than their 8 weeks processing time. Never answer their phone, left plenty of voice mails. No one gets back to me with an answer of where my money is. It s over 1k, and during these financial hardships, they hold on to peoples money. Will never ever do business with anything related to this horrendous company. Should be ashamed. -1000% do not recommend

I have purchased several vehicles from Sonic Automotive dealerships and two through their VIP concierge service. Each time my transactions were handled efficiently and seamlessly.I would not hesitate to buy any vehicle, new or used, from Sonic our Echo Park.

I can't understand the low appraisal offer for my 2020 GMC Sierra Denali. Mr. Alan Heidenreich was very helpful and knowledgeable. I would have purchased the 2018 CT6 Platinum Edition if it wasn't for the very low appraisal of $49,000.00 for my truck.

Bought my fourth Sonic automotive car and my second from Danielle and she is great. These cars have all been very clean and much cleaner than Carmax. Their prices were also better than Carmax and Carvana. Saved me a lot of money and time.

We bought a Toyota from BMW of Nashville which is owned by Sonic Automotive. We have been very patient in waiting for them to respond but it s been almost 10 weeks since the form has been signed and 2 weeks since we started a ticket with you. BMW of Nashville says we must contact corporate and no one ever responds to emails sent to customer service or the warranty dept.

SONIC JUST REPLYS TO THE REVIEW THEY DONT NOT CARE ABOUT THERE CUSTOMERS THEY WILL STILL TREAT YOU BADLY. Worst customer service ever. I was told not to do business with a sonic automotive dealer and I now know why they are only worried about there money and that's it. Stay Away from all Sonic Automotive Dealers. You would have a better chance of getting apple juice out of a tomato. Stay Away from Sonic Dealers.

I'm so disappointed with such upscale dealership. You would think that by it being a Mercedes dealership it would provide awesome customer service. (Not) I been giving nothing but excuses and the run around. First off I stay in MS; in which, they stated the could delivery. That never happened. I have to drive and get the vehicle. Next was they were supposed to refunded me the delivery charges. I just received the check on 10/31/20. Vehicle was purchased on 9/29/20. I yet still havent received any paperwork or nothing. I cant even drive the vehicle because I dont have the plates because the dealership still havent sent the paperwork to MS. The buyer's copy paper is not valid in MS. Meaning I have a vehicle in which I cant drive without being ticket. I'm was treated like I was just a piece of paper and not a customer. I will never in this life go back through this with no dealership. I dont care how much I want a vehicle. The way this place operates is an embarrassment to Mercedes. Thanks for making my online experience in purchasing a vehicle a disaster. I wouldn't reccomend this place to no one.. I have reach out to so many people to point where I dont even want the vehicle anymore. It's just hurtful as customer that things can be done to buyer and nothing can be done about it. I'm just stuck with a vehicle that I cant drive. This is so hurtful (Mercedes Benz of McKinney)So as 11/16/20 no one has provided me with no information about getting plates. Not too mention again truck can't be driven. I will just have to get someone to look at this case and go further with legal. I have been patience but this is not right...

We DO NOT recommend buying a used car from Sonic Automotive. Prior to our purchase at Fort Mill Ford, spray was noticed under the hood. When my son questioned the spray, the sales associate informed him that the car had not yet been detailed, indicated that it was from the previous owner overfilling with coolant, and assured him that it would be handled by his service team. We called immediately following purchase concerned that the touch screen and the heat /air system were not functioning correctly only to be told by the sales associate that they only conduct a safety inspection prior to selling a used car. The malfunction of the heat turned out to be a safety issue. The car left our son stranded on the side of the road within 2 weeks of purchase due to preexisting engine problems resulting in coolant leakage. We were assured by management that Fort Mill Ford would provide resolution; however, a MONTH without a car later, the Fort Mill Ford GM has offered $600.00 toward major engine repair bills we are facing. We are forced to seek legal help due to Sonic Automotive/ Fort Mill Ford misrepresenting a used car. We want to warn as many people as we can so this doesn't happen to others.

Horrible customer service. Spent almost $1,300 on repair that did not fix problem. Bought car from them and asked them to deduct the $1,300 off new car price - traded in the vehicle they did the work on. They refused! When I wrote them a letter and disputed the charge they now claim that their service department says "they don't guarantee to fix a problem." Wish I had never bought a car from them or tried to have mine repaired there. Received letter from PR person not giving one iota of credibility to my complaint. They can't wait to charge your credit card, sell you a car and then treat you like crap when the deal is done.

I have been a Loyal customer of Sonic Automotive since 2005 when Larry Hamilton was the GM at Honda West (Now GM@ Cadillac W.Sahara) He taught me how economic And reliable the Honda Civic was, I, Have bought several Civic's since. The GM at Honda West Now is Goardon, He has been with Sonic Automotive for many year's and Always takes Care of all His Customer's!.He's My Huckleberry! .If visiting Service Department ask for Karla She has been at Honda West For many year's, And She Rock's!Hope this was Helpful!
