I have two used vehicles (Impala and Suburban) that I get serviced at Compton s. Collectively the two vehicles have over 400,00 miles, because of that I visit Compton s often for routine maintenance, oil changes and major engine work (you know, those scary repairs). With my consistent interactions, I can state unequivocally that Compton s is a business with a strong concentration on customer satisfaction their warranties are the best I know for used vehicles. Additionally, they understand the value of relationship building as it relates tocustomer retention.

This is my go to place for EVERYTHING auto repairs. I m so grateful and thankful for the workers at Compton s Automotive Inc. When I bought a used 2001 Cadillac DeVille, I knew it was going to need MAJOR work, and I needed someone I could trust with my car, the repairs, and beyond repairs. This place is IT! I ve been very pleased with the work they ve done for my DeVille and other vehicles. Communication is very important to me and they have not disappointed in that area as well. Thank you for keeping my Northstar Engine running as well as my other family vehicles. Truly one of the best in the Charlotte Area! What would you do if you are a single woman, and your transmission fails? Many of my friends wouldn t know who to call. For more than 10 years, I ve trusted my dealership and that was my first phone call. But the dealership s transmission shop was overbooked and couldn t get to my car for over 6 weeks, and then it would be whatever time it took to do the repairs. That simply wasn t going to work for me, so I Googled transmission repair near me , and Compton s Automotive was the first hit. I read through reviews and the history of the shop and owner before sending a rather desperate email to them. Stacie heard my desperation and immediately called me. God bless her! She helped me get the vehicle towed to the shop, and lent me one of their loaner vehicles. I received a very detailed inspection report with recommended repairs and prices. Though the repairs took longer than anticipated (through no fault of Compton s Automotive,) I was allowed to drive their loaner for the duration and was kept up-to-date on the progress. While my repair was expensive, but I am confident that I received a fair price, and my car is running great. I can t thank Stacie, Todd and the Compton s team enough, and will recommend them for any auto repair.

I have a 2014 Ford Escape that has 86k miles on it. I brought it to Compton's to give me an assessment of recommended maintenance as I cart 2 young children back and forth to daycare everyday. The service was exceeded my expectations. The mechanic sent photos through a web based application that showed me the exact wear on the vehicle and explained the recommended services. They helped me chose which maintenance services were the most important and I will be taking my vehicle back to perform the rest of remaining items. There was nothing that was in dire need of fixing but I'd like to get ahead of any issues that could occur. They provided a ride back to work in the morning while they looked over they vehicle and they did have a loaner car available for me in the afternoon while they did some of the work. Huge bonus! Also, there were cookies, I mean come on cookies!?!~!?

I am writing this on behalf on my family who had drivability and potential transmission issues on their 2014 Escape late Thursday.I found Comptons Automotive through ScannerDanner s shop directory. I called 10 minutes after they closed trying to get an appointment for first thing Friday morning. The owner Tom Compton returned my call roughly 20 AFTER they closed to set an appointment for first thing Friday morning with the hopes to get him back on the road if possible depending on the issue/parts availability.However, my father in law ultimately decided to rent a uhaul to tow the escape and continue driving so they wouldn t be late for the moving truck with all their stuff in it.An owner that invests in high quality training such as scannerdanner to ensure that the vehicle gets diagnosed and repaired the correct way the first time. The owner and his team you can tell genuinely cares about people and ensuring that customer gets treated the right way.You will be hard pressed to find better service and generosity than the team at Compton s Automotive.Wish I could give them 10 stars!

This company does not deserve a single star. I took my 2004 Lexus GX470 because they specifically state in their Google ad that they provide Transmission Repair. They do not. I stated, in advance and before taking the vehicle "are you able to rebuild a front differential if that is the problem" and "do you do much 'drive train' work. They responded via phone deliberately avoiding a written documented response that they did and that they "do a lot of different kids of work on many different makes and models of vehicles." Their main response was to get me to sign an agreement for a diagnosis charge which was an unnecessary add on because, as they stated "we can't get the part because they only use new parts." Of course on a nearly 20-year old vehicle, they can't get a new transfer case though hundreds are available so they engaged in a "bait and switch" process to effective churn the accounts of unsuspecting customers like myself. If they had told me, in advance, that we only use new fully assembled parts like a transfer case, I wouldn't have taken the vehicle to them. I requested a refund which they refused and they held my vehicle "hostage" until I paid their exhorbadant diagnosis charge for items that I did not ask them to even view.Take your vehicle anywhere else, but don't go here unless you want to be taken to the cleaners.All viewpoints in this review are my own and are my own experiences with them. Your's could be different.

Took a car I was interested in buying for a pre purchase inspection. The techs here go above and beyond making sure to give you as much information as possible about the vehicle. They test drove, took many pictures, and gave me a detailed report of everything good and bad they found about the car! Great customer service!

Please go elsewhere. Came here over a month or so ago with issues about my car, and they scammed me out of over $400 almost paid about $600. they originally told me a diagnosis was $90 over the phone to then say it was $150. a couple other issues i had was they told me my battery was the wrong size and would be $270 to change and replace it, i still had a warranty with autozone and i checked with them, i saw with my own eyes my battery had 0 issues and was the correct size so they almost got me there lol.. they said the direct issue was that it needed an oil change , told them i could do it myself , they basically told me they had to do it themselves for whatever reason and a bunch of other issues just for my car to have never been fixed and still have the same issues like a week later.. please find another place and save your money. idk what luck these other reviews had..

Compton's Auto has been servicing my car for many years now. They recently replaced a wheel bearing and did a great job. They explain the issues and the resolution clearly before starting any work. Been using Compton s for a few years. Have several major repairs done on a couple of my family cars. They have an efficient online estimate approval system and they attach pictures of everything in need of addressing. Everything done have been holding up well. Highly recommended.

I give this place a -3 star wrost car buying experience I have ever had granted the man who said he would stand behind the car or help with any repairs in the first year I took at his word had this car less then 6 months an can t drive it I give the man a call hopefully that he would stand behind what he told me same on the phone as he was in person oh ya let him look in to it an would call me back that was 3 months ago if he tells you it is raining out best check for yourself an get it in righting all in all they are full of it an would not be trustful to safe your life

Great experience all around. Greeting and scheduling of service was smooth, dropping off suv was fast, talking thru issues, online software that gave me options and explanations was very helpful and informative, work was done right and I didn t have to worry about a quick lube outfit forgetting to put caps back on or forget to tighten a lug nut which has happened to me before. Solid systems and appreciated the 5 star service.

I was on a roadtrip and I had big issues with my van arriving in Charlotte NC. Towing brought the van at Compton Automotive by night. The day after, Compton Automotive took all the time to discuss with us to find the source of the problem. They were caring, professional and honest. They kept us in touch at each step of the process. All the team from Stacie at the front desk to Todd the owner took their work at heart. So thankful to all of you. Because of your quality of work, I ve been able to continue my way up to Cleveland before week-end. I recommend without any hesitation this this place. You will be in good hands and in peace.

Great place to get your car serviced. Compton's does a great job of getting all car repairs and maintenance completed. Always well done and completed in a timely manner. Easy in and out. Most impressed with prompt service and personal attention to my vehicle. I brought the car in for brake repair which was addressed very quickly. Compton's performed a thorough inspection of the vehicle and provided detailed information of items that should be addressed. In discussion with the mechanic I was able to determine what items needed immediate attention and what could be addressed later.I am happy with the work performed and the attention provided to me.The quick turnaround exceeded my expectations.Back again to my trusted repair shop. Once again prompt and personal service for shocks, struts, tires. Car is now riding smoothly and quietly. The brake booster pump on our Prius was going out so I gave them a call to see if they could take a look. I spoke to Stacie and she was able to work me in quickly for them to run a few tests on the braking system.I got a detailed quote for repair back within a few hours explaining what needed to be fixed. This quote was sent via text and included a link where I could authorize repair. I actually thought this method of sending a quote was pretty cool. It was much easier and more efficient than a phone call.I felt the price was fair so I authorized the work. They initially thought it would be ready by noon the next day but it was taking a little longer than expected. Stacie reached out to me in plenty of time to let me know it would be a little later than noon. By 2:20pm that afternoon I had my car.When I picked up the car I spoke with Stacie and the owner. The owner took the time to explain in detail what all was done to the car and reminded me of the warranty they offer on their repairs.I wanted to wait a month to review this shop to make sure everything worked. My car continues to brake as good as new after the repair. Stacie was awesome ,keeping me in the loop of what was going on and answering all of my questions (I tend to ask a lot). I would definitely recommend trying Compton s out if you are in need of a good mechanic.Service: Auto brake repair

I can't say enough about Compton's. I have been going to them for several years. They keep my car on track for scheduled maintenance and at a lower price than the dealership. They are convenient to my office and will provide a ride if needed. One occasion they provided me with a loaner because they had to keep the car overnight. They are professional, helpful and kind. I couldn't be more pleased with Todd and his team at Compton's Automotive. I brought my truck in with a cylinder misfire and after a very thorough diagnostic check I decided to have them replace the entire block. The work was done quickly and the communication was top notch. Everyone was very professional and I was treated as if my vehicle was top priority. It was nice to have a cost estimate up front instead of running into surprises and upcharges while the work is being done like other automotive repair shops tend to do. I can't say enough good things about everyone who works at Compton's Automotive from the front to the back! Second visit trying to establish with a new, more convenient auto service facility after moving into the Steele Creek area from elsewhere in Charlotte (been here for over 30 years). Very pleased thus far with their facility, staff, friendliness, professionalism, service menu, results, and zero attempt to "up-sell" during routine maintenance visits. What else is there? I am happy and will be coming back on a regular basis! Highly recommended.(Update) Second Review after doing business with Compton's Automotive for the past 5 years. Todd continues to professionally take care of his customers, and I am glad to have been one of them now for the past several years. One aspect of their service that I really like is that they provide the details from their servicing. Not only do they give scaled recommendations for future service (urgent / recommended / informational), but they give you hard data (i.e. tire tread depth and brake pad thickness) so you can be informed about how much more time those parts may last. It's just all-around excellent servicing.

Very thorough and kind body shop. They took in my focus and checked to see why the battery was being drained and did a whole car inspection of potential issues. I only needed the one thing but it was great knowing they took the time to make me aware of potential issues that needed to be addressed as well. They fixed the initial issue. Followed up multiple times afterwards to make sure the car was working and if I needed anything else. Based off the service I received, you can t go wrong with using Compton s and they are worth the visit. Oh and they had coffee and cookies for your wait.

I was traveling through Charlotte and was in desperate need of AC repair, and my braking was starting to feel soft. Compton's performed all the repairs within a day, at a great price. The shop is clean and they have some of the kindest, most honest, and friendly staff (I worked with Johnny) I have ever encountered. The owner's mom even gave me a ride to the light rail station. The owner personally reached out to me afterward to make sure everything was to my satisfaction. I would highly recommend Compton's to anyone in need of repairs. This is where you go when you want a great customer experience and quality long lasting repairs done. The estimate review software is a excellent. I see actual photos of the repair recommendations in question along with the estimate breakdowns. I can take my time reviewing the information without a sales pitch. I appreciate how they always differentiate between real safety concerns vs items that can wait. This is especially helpful with older vehicles and a tight budget. Always great customer service from the service advisors with thorough explanations and high quality, detailed work from the technicians. The excellent warranty time frame on the work done is fair and very reassuring.

Compton's has a great team from the front desk to the mechanics. They offer rides to work after dropping off your car. Provide updated text while repairs are in progress and confirm any recommended additional repairs are approved beforehand. Invoice was to the penny of all estimates (provided detailed in writing), pleasantly no surprises. Transparency and professionalism with an upbeat friendly attitude -- not to mention an inviting waiting area with complimentary snacks and coffee. Highly recommend.

Performed maintenance on my vehicle promptly and correctly. They give you a great report of all recommendations for your vehicle and you can decide what you need without hassle. I like thier workload, the shop, and the experts repairs. I recommend.
