Professional, friendly, caring customer service. A+ to Mallory, who worked with us. My experience working with Chapel Hill Tire - Franklin St was great. They price matched our tire replacement, provided a first time customer discount, recommended services, patiently and efficiently communicated over text, email and phone. I would recommend this home town auto service company any time. Thank you Chapel Hill Tire - Franklin St for helping this long distance family with their car care needs while their son is in school, much appreciated!

This morning I had a nasty and unexpected flat tire on my brand new car -- turns out I had run over a nail! Walked into Chapel Hill Tire on Franklin to see if they could help and Mallory went out of her way to make sure I could fit my car in. They were friendly, efficient, helpful and helped a (pretty panicked) new car owner in a stressful situation. Was also surprised at how clean the lobby/waiting area is -- and just how nice everyone was! Special thanks to Mallory for helping me today and to the whole crew for knocking me down with excellent, affordable service! They saved an otherwise terrible day!

I bring my own supplies and CHT provides the labor. They rotate my tires for free and drain trans and oil change for what I used to pay at a competitor. Love the fact that the will drive me home after dropping off my car. No need to Uber which in the mornings can be expensive. They do a good job servicing my 2012 Camry with over 280kServices: Transmission, Tires, Oil change

Mallory Kipka at Chapel Hill Tire on Franklin St. in Chapel Hill saved the day! We had a nail in one tire and a valve stem leak in a second tire. She jumped on it and had us out the door in less than an hour! She was warm, hospitable, and very communicative! What a great overall experience!

I sent my daughter here for an oil change as I didn't have time to do it when she was last home. My other daughter, who also lives in Chapel Hill has taken her car here a few time with ok results.I requested a full synthetic oil change on the appointment request, but they used synthetic blend. I've never used anything but full synthetic since my daughter bought the car almost 4 years ago. They also tried to upsell her an engine flush when she dropped the car off.My major issue is that when the car was ready they emailed my daughter an invoice of recommended services for over 5K. She called me crying hysterically because she thought they had done the work and she owed 5k.This is a 23 year old car with over 200,000 miles. I took it to our master mechanic a few months back and told him to do whatever was needed to keep it safe and road worthy. He did about 2k in work, including some of the things regarding fluids that they recommended be done again. He also remarked that the car was in really good overall shape, especially given the age and mileage.Based on this experience and my belief that their primary objective is to extract maximum revenue from customers we won't be back.

Mallory (at the front desk) has excellent customer service... very friendly, knowledgeable, and has "what's best for the customer " mind set. She is an exceptional "first point of contact" asset to the company. She is wonderful to work with.

I brought a brand new Tesla here to have a hitch installed, and really the only good thing I can say about my experience was with the folks at the front desk. They were super professional and helpful, but unfortunately the Tesla mechanic is really careless and sloppy with his work. Initially, I got my car back with grease and scuffs all over the bumper and rear lights. I also had new panel gaps that were not there previously, and the foam seal around the trunk was not reinstalled at all. The trunk started making a loud sound when closing, as if laboring to pull down and latch. When I brought it back to have this corrected, the front desk staff were friendly and got my car in right away. I was told that the technician was tired on Friday and wanted to go home. Okay, so what I am paying $400 for? After waiting 5 more hours, the grease on the exterior was now gone. I was told the panel gaps are due to a Tesla issue, even though those were not present prior to installation. (Tesla does have an issue with this, but the car was carefully checked at the dealership precisely for this reason.) The foam seal was installed, although because it was installed unevenly, the trunk was still having trouble closing. To make things worse, they installed the bumper so that it pinned the tab down that pulls open the cargo compartment on the floor of the trunk. You'd think it would be easy to just pry this up, right? Nope. The tab was so thoroughly wedged in that the bumper now seems to be keeping the cargo area permanently closed.I am sure that the front desk staff would be willing to see my car again, but after leaving my car with them for a total of 8+5 = 13 hours over two days, I have zero confidence that the Tesla technician there can fix these issues. If anything, he seems to be making things worse with every visit. I ended up having to schedule an appointment with the manufacturer to fix these issues.People seem to like this location for other kinds of cars (fair enough), and the customer service is really good. This is the only reason I am giving 2 stars instead of 1. But if you have a Tesla, DO NOT bring it to this location.

Maybe new management? Very disappointed. I have been going to this garage for over four years. Even though I moved to Garner, I still use this shop because I work in Chapel Hill occasionally and trust them. I scheduled a brake booster repair and was asked if I was dropping it off for the day as usual. I got there at 9:15am and was texted by 9:30 saying, they actually cannot work on my car that day since the job will take four hours once in the bay they need me to reschedule. I called to do so but was told if I can t leave it overnight (which is tough bc I don t have a ride back to garner) or drop it at 8am (which I can t because I m nursing a newborn currently) they cannot do the repair. I explained that I have a newborn and with the commute could do a 9am drop off but they said no. I don t know much about cars or how to repair a brake booster, but I would make more of an effort to complete a fourhour job in a seven hour window of time for a long-term loyal, customer!! I was legitimately excited to finally have this taken care of and have a safe car to drive, but now I am back at square one looking for a new shop.

I want to start by saying the folks at CHT were incredible nice and communicated well and in a timely fashion. However, they were unable to fix my problem. I took my car in because one of my tires kept triggering my low tire pressure alert, and CHT patched the tire for me. Additionally, they gave me a substantial list of repairs they recommend I get done, accompanied by a little website just for my car where they d uploaded photos and descriptions of what the problems were, or at least what they suspected; it was very organized and seemed professional enough. I d even say that a lot of the repairs probably are warranted, given my 150k mileage. However, with all of that analysis, I would have expected they would successfully patch my tire. Alas. The tire pressure alert was on again when I started my car in the lot to leave. I guessed maybe they didn t fill it completely as part of some protocol and took it to a pump on my way home, but not 4 days later it s running flat again. Even with the benefit of the doubt supposing it s not the same tire that they patched that s now triggering my low tire pressure alert with the in-depth analysis they carried out on my car, I would have expected them to catch any other failing tires. The folks are so nice, but the long repair list felt a little suspicious, plus the failed repair on top of that I don t think I ll be going back anytime soon Also they didn t spell my name right once, despite me spelling it correctly when I registered for an appointment online. (2 stars)Edit: Me again, the following week CHT reached out to me about this review and wanted another go at my tire. Chris was very apologetic over the phone and did have the second service done for free. They were able to pull a nail out of my tire and I haven t had any issues with it since. I m very pleased with their follow-through and that they were willing to take care of it. Cristian was super helpful at the front desk as well. Ultimately, even if it took a couple tries, I m really glad to have my car drive able again. I appreciate the folks over at CHT and recognize that there could have been more going on with my tire than a single leak or hole. I owe them a couple more stars on this review.

Chapel Hill tire was able to get my car in on short notice, and had the battery replaced in no time! Their texting service makes communicating with them through the process so much easier!

I came in for a whining sound when accelerating on a 2009 Honda Accord. The issue was the power steering fluid. The following were the services recommended and associated prices, along with a "diagnostic" fee. Overall, I am disappointed by what seems to be a superfluous diagnostic fee and some recommended services which did not seem necessary. I've never had a diagnostic fee in all my services with my car. Had I known the breakdown of charges, I would have gone elsewhere. Most likely will not be using this repair shop again. For those with less experience...If you are thinking about this auto repair shop, I would recommend calling first to get try and get an estimate...Most repair shops will at least try to do this for you even if you don't know the specific problem. You can describe the issue and then list possible solutions and prices. Also ask about whether there will be a diagnostic fee. Most repair shops will not charge this if you get your car serviced at the same shop!1) DIAGNOSE & ADVISE: $1632) POWER STEERING FLUID SERVICE: $1603) BRAKE FLUID SERVICE: $1604) TIRE ALIGNMENT: I refused this service as I knew my tires are often only misaligned slightly.Pros:I thought the customer service was friendly and the location was conveniently located next to UNC.Cons:* They charge what seems to be an extremely high "diagnostic" fee.* Some services did not seem necessary* largely concur with the 1-star reviews in terms of predatory pricing on students' naivete

Great customer service! I was a new customer with a flat tire and they worked me in. The tire was not repairable and they ordered a new tire and replaced it the next morning while I waited. Couldn't ask for better.

Trevor was great. No hassle, got my oil change done the same day and they provided some recommendations on a few items I need to address without pressuring me into decisions on the spot. Very friendly throughout and easy process.

I sent my daughter to have a customer supplied tire mounted and balanced on her car, they charged her 65 dollars . What a rip off!! I called a few shops in the area and highest said 30 dollars, not sure if they took advantage of her because she is a high school student but it s ridiculous, they did decide to do an inspection that we didn t ask for on the car to upsell and toldHer she needed a coolant flush and plugs, go figure i just had that done 2 months ago. Will never take anything to them again, would not recommend. TOTAL RIPOFF !!

This is the best and most honest place. I was a little skeptical when my son took his car there since it s on a college campus and easy to take advantage of college kids. I was way wrong. They really know what they are doing and very honest. I wish they were closer so I could take my car there. Thank you guys so much

Mallory is always the first friendly face to greet me as I bring all 4 of my family s cars to Chapel Hill Tire on West Franklin St, welcoming me to a reception area that is always spotless. I like getting details on my phone when my car is checked in/being worked on/ready for pick-up along with a list of the work they did (with accompanying photos) plus any possible upcoming maintenance issues. 70 years and counting for this staple business, and I can see why.Services: Tires, General repairs & maintenance, Tire rotations, Wheel alignment, Brakes, Auto emissions testing, Vehicle safety inspection, Battery, Oil change

Super efficient and friendly service! My car's tires are filled with nitrogen and I needed one tire refilled . This location was the only one close to me that had it available. Their slogan of "we help you get in, out, and on with your life" is real and demonstrated by every person I encountered. Highly recommend!

I discovered a nail in one of my tires as I was on my way to the museum. I stopped at CH Tire as this location was in the area where I was heading. The lady at the front desk was so kind and thoughtful. I'm sorry I did not get her name but she was extremely helpful. She told me I would have to wait until 4 to have my tire checked as they were booked up. My grand daughter became so upset that we would not make it to the museum based on the wait and the lady told me to wait a minute and they checked my tire and removed the nail. The service person was just as kind who fixed my tire.I was in and out in 10 minutes. I went to pay for the repair and she would not accept payment as she wanted me to enjoy the time at the museum. Again, I was so touched with this kindness.I made an appointment for the following week as this is the type of business I can count on and trust with my car needsThank you Chapel Hill Tire.Service: Tires

Everyone was so kind and helpful. I brought my car in because it was making a horrible noise when I backed up and I was told a flat rate for inspection. There ended up being a rock stuck inside of my car and they removed it for free without charging the inspection fee. Everyone was super kind, I will definitely come back and reccomend to others! A bright spot in my day
