Unbelievable experience. From the customer service, to the actual servicing of the car, it was a great experience. I wish I could give them 6 stars! Mercedes dealership wanted to charge me more than it would cost to buy a new car. A Better Wrench came through and blew me away with the overall experience.

Excellent customer service....best mechanics in town. They diagnosed and fixed my vehicle in just a few short days. I was back riding in no time. Highly recommend. If you don't take your Mercedes here for needed affordable repairs, then you must be out of your mind.

You will not find a better place. I drive from Roanoke, Va to Chapel hill, NC for there business.My family has been a customer of "A better Wrench" with Mercede Benz(s) mechanic repairs and sales for 30 plus decades, Max Sr. running the business on his own. This is the place to get your Mercedes repaired or purchase one.

A big thanks to the professional and courteous staff at A Better Wrench. I own a 20 year old SL 500, and it needed some brake work as well as some cosmetic fixes. The mechanic did a superb job, making sure it got done correctly, without rushing. And I should also point out that a question about price was quickly met with, "How can we make this right?" I can see why most of the reviews here read like love letters, and why customers travel great distances to maintenance their cars. I am happy to add my review and give high praise to the impressive staff at A Better Wrench!

I brought my C32 AMG there for and oil change and to get inspected before I sell it on BAT. I asked them to take some photos of underneath the car while on the lift. Max took all the pictures and gave me a detailed breakdown of the car. He educated me about other AMGs that I am looking at to replace this with. Outstanding service. I won t go anywhere else now.

This shop is simply the best. The mechanics are all top notch. Everyone is treated fairly with respect. Every time I visit and get my car repaired I am overjoyed with the competence and friendliness of everyone there. Mercedes Benz and BMW used to make great reliable cars.Literally any car guy following whats going on these days in the automotive world knows that Mercedes Benz and BMWs are in fact money pit brands known to break so its no surprise that this shop exclusively works on rabbit hole cars.Get ready for lots of diagnostics fees.If its not a simple fix junk the car and the mechanic and buy another brand.If you dont believe me pick ANY youtube video by ANY mechanic and BMW and Mercedes Benz always come up as the worst brands to buy if you want a reliable car.

I needed an annual emissions test for my vehicle. Due to work and general procrastination, I was on my last day to have it done. Called around and visited a couple of other places I d used in the past, but they were booked solid with a minimum wait of 3 hours and one place had an opening 4 days away (for an emissions test? Really?)Called A Better Wrench and explained my plight. They weren t any less busy than the others I spoke to, but said no problem! And even gave me a couple of time windows to bring the car by. I was only just getting comfy in their nice waiting room when they told me they were done. I was in and out in 20min.It was just an inspection, but I appreciated that they recognized it was a quick turn around job and worked me in quickly even though it was clear they had plenty of work going on. Depending on their workload/schedule, your experience may differ somewhat, but based on their up front communication and friendly customer facing staff, I d recommend giving them a call. They will be the first place I go to from now on for future repairs and inspections.The only other comment I have is that the building is not clearly marked. Google maps takes you right there, but the building is set back from the road a bit with a row of trees in front of it, so it s not immediately evident. The number of parked cars along the road and in front eliminate the need to be a super-sleuth to figure out if you are in the right place, but I figured I d mention it.

A Better Wrench is the first place I will call for work on my 2000 Mercedes SL500. Max Scroggs, Sr. is as knowledgeable when it comes to MB as anyone I have met, and his team of technicians are an ALL-STAR team

This is the best mechanic I ve ever had. If you don t own a Mercedes buy one just so you can go here! Amazing work, fair prices, family business and quick turn around. Truly the best of the best! They even took almost an hour to teach me about my older new car I had purchased. It s truly above and beyond!

Came to A Better Wrench after visiting a nearby dealership needless to say it was night and day. The technician here called me and addressed all of my concerns knowledgeably and succinctly. He told me what I needed and what was not necessary at this time saving me over $1000. I will continue to use them for all my vehicle s services.

Best in state for Mercedes maintenance and repair. Conscientious, fair, communicative - I feel they are on my side when I need to decide to proceed with a repair or not. Excellent professionalism. I have been going to them for 17 years.

Can't say enough good things about this place. Knowledgeable, honest, fair prices, and just flat out good people. The only place I will take my E320 diesel to have service done. I used to take to other MB service shops in the area in the who would overcharge and misdiagnose things constantly. You can't go wrong with A Better Wrench.

I don't bring my car here but my dad has 3 older Mercedes he brings here and the work these guys do is always great and relatively fast AND affordable. the gentleman at the counter are always friendly in fact one time me and my dad locked ourselves out of the car in their parking lot and the man at the counter came out used his car unlocker 1000 and we were set to go.

I was recommended A Better Wrench by a friend who owns a Mercedes. My car needed repairs, and I had just moved to Chapel Hill, NC for work, and I had no idea about the new area. Once I contacted them, they were polite, calm, respectful, and extremely accommodating by explaining what was happening with my automobile. Unfortunately, there was a list of issues, but we tackled one thing at a time, and eventually got all of the Musts taken care of. The kicker is that my car is 20 years old with over 250K Miles. I love this place. They fixed my struts on my s550 and I had questions about buying. Ml350 and they recommended the best year to get of that vehicle!!! I will not take my car anywhere else or my SUV

My stepdaughter was looking for a used Mercedes and a friend referred me to A better Wrench. As soon as we walked in to the business we felt we were among family - and we were! It is a classic "family business" and they bring those "family values" to all of their interactions. We had spent months researching and fretting and negotiating other options, but with 5 days of our first visit we found the car of my stepdaughter's dreams at a very good price. And best of all, unlike other car buying experiences, we felt good about not only our car but ourselves and the people who sold it to us.

I had taken my s550 to the Mercedes Benz dealership mechanics and they wanted to charge me 3,000$ for a 4$ part. A friend recommended a better wrench and the charges me 179$ to fix my car. The team at A Better Wrench are friendly and good at what they do. I've been taking my old Mercedes there for 3 years. At 302,000 miles, my 1999 e320 wagon shows few signs of old age, thanks to them. I highly recommend them for Mercedes service.

These guys are hands-down the best. I am always re-assured when I talk to them that they know what needs to happen. The work on my car has been fast and fair. They're tremendous! If you need help with your Mercedes, these are the guys for you.

Last night, we were leaving Chapel Hill to return to Greensboro. Our battery light had come on, but we were hoping to make it home before we had to deal with it. No such luck -- we were on the road, driving, when all of our battery-operated stuff started fading and failing. We knew we needed to get off the road quick, and I pulled up auto repair shops on my phone -- what luck! There was one about a mile ahead.We pulled into A Better Wrench, and my heart fell a little when I saw they were a Mercedes-Benz and BMW place, because we were driving a Chevy Cavalier. We knew we couldn't go any further, though, so we walked in.They were the nicest people! It was about an hour before they closed, and it was raining and nasty. They still rushed to help us -- with one of them even driving to the parts store to get us a new alternator because they wouldn't deliver that late in the day. Less than two hours later, we had a new alternator, even though they had to stay some past closing to get it done. They would have been justified in charging us a rush fee, but they didn't -- it was extremely reasonable, on par with what I paid 10 years ago the last time I needed an alternator on this car.We were so lucky to be near them when our emergency struck!
