I used this business to replace the front struts on my vehicle. Initially I had been told both struts needed repairs (by AAA) but this very honest business told me I would be just fine with only the front replaced. They recommended resurfacing my rotors and I feel the braking in my vehicle is much better. They also gave me a good faith repair (free) on my spark plugs when they noticed the car running poorly. I would really like to especially thank the gentleman at the front desk. Super personable and did a wonderful job explaining things to me during the process.Thanks so much and I recommend this business to others.

I've been using TAO Auto for over 30 years. My loyalty came when time after time my work was performed professionally and priced (very) fairly.This shop isn't relying on a showy front office and upselling. They'll tell you what's needed, what you'll pay and when to expect it to be ready. In each of these instances they perform as promised.Highly recommended.

Tao has serviced our Honda Element & Toyota Prius for some time. Great work, always lets you know what is going on. Rear brake caliper on Element froze up and ruined brake rotor. William let us know what needed to be done and we did, also fixed a few other things that had been needing attention, nothing major. Runs great and stops great now!

I appreciate how transparent and honest TAO Auto is with their services. Very kind, knowledgeable and fast! Took my older Honda in for some routine maintenance (oil change, transmission fluid flush) and they quickly handled my car. Great prices too. Give them a call and get yourself scheduled!

The folks at Tao were so truthful that they gave up a good sale to help me. My problem was a known issue for Honda s like mine and Samantha researched the issue to find out that Honda extended the warranty period. She advised me to tow it to the Honda dealer where they fixed my issue for free (yes free!). This was after William had already tried to work me in without an appointment and tried to help me get back on the road.Auto repair shops get a bad name (maybe not by accident) but a friend referred me here and I ll be back. Very pleased with their willingness to do the right thing when I would never have even known the difference and would have paid whatever the cost was willingly. Wonderful shop. I was having issues with my vehicle and had them diagnose it. Unfortunately it wasn't something they could fix at a worthwhile cost (reman transmissions for an older vehicle from Honda are expensive). However they only charged me for half an hour. Do note that the parking lot is small and appointments are highly recommended.

Why I don t doubt they do good work here, you should shop around as they are very exp! Took my Honda there due to AC issue, they quoted me $1400.00 to replace compressor and they also told me the cooling fan was bad and that would be an additional $190.00. I took my Honda to another shop - got the compressor and all necessary components changed(compressor has a lifetime warranty) for $680.00. Plus - there isn t anything wrong with the cooling fan! Just do your homework!

Tao Auto has earned my business moving forward. Had an issue come up with my CRV, and this shop was incredibly prompt and professional in diagnosing the issue, recommending repairs and getting me back on the road. William was great at communicating the status of my car at each step. I felt in very good hands the entire time, can't recommend Tao Auto enough if you have a Honda or Toyota that needs to be looked after!Services: Electrical repair, General repairs & maintenance, Battery

Hands down the best customer service I have experienced! William made sure to communicate any and all details with me regarding my repairs. He talked to me and not at me ensuring that I had complete and total understanding of what needed to be done and why. Great service on Hondas and Toyotas (and some other makes). Courteous and very knowledgeable staff. We've entrusted them with nearly all our car service needs beyond basic oil changes and tire rotations for decades.

We've been taking both of our cars there for years with nothing but great experiences. William and Samantha are always friendly and they have always been very thorough in explaining the problems and what my options are for repair. They are also very good about prioritizing what needs to be done right away vs what you can hold off on. Highly recommended.

I own a 17 year old Honda Element which has rarely given me problems. As with any older vehicle, at some point there will be. I have been getting my car serviced at TAO for the last couple years. They are always knowledgeable, friendly, and give me details about what is happening and why. I had a rear differential completely broken and brake pads completely worn down on the same side. There were also some oil leaks in a couple places. This fix was a little costly but totally worth it. William explained the whole thing and I gladly paid for it. It was repaired speedily and the shuttle staff were efficient, Linwood & Heather. I will always use TAO for future services and recommend them to anyone else seeking a reliable repair shop.

When another local mechanic you trust tells you that Tao Auto will do right by you and fix your issue, you give em a chance. Tao was fantastic to work with. Completely open about the work that was needed or not required and how much time is expected and cost. Very professional and easy to work with. They repaired my CR-V in half a day, and saved me well over $1,500 over the dealer. I am a new fan!Service: A/C installation & repair

Grifters. They apparently don't know what they can and can't fix until they have your $67 diagnostic fee. They can't do anything on trucks or anything with "rust." These guys can't repair anything, they just offer to replace the whole system. Couldn't even be upfront that they couldn't fix my exhaust issue and stole my time and money. They were able to adjust my parking brake correctly. so 1 star seems about right. If you need a new part completely replaced on a car less than 3 years old, this place will probably be good for you. All they had to do is say we don't fix exhausts, but they danced around it and took my $67, sad really. I won't be going back here and neither should you! New to the area and first time here. Searched for a mechanic and found this place that specializes in Toyota s and Honda s. I have two older (2007, 2011) Toyota vehicles, and am generally a believer in specialists for best service. Figured I d check this place out for my first oil change in my new state. Got an appointment and all went well. Service advisor (or whatever his title may be) informed me of some big items that may come up (120k mile maintenance). Met the owner who was friendly. Plan on being back.

We brought our 2004 Honda Accord EXL car in to have it fixed. Found out it was the air conditioner compressor along with a couple other major things. They did a great job, got us in fast, and my daughter is now safer driving in the car. Thank you.

Extremely disappointing experience with TAO. Got my daughter's transmission replaced with them 11 months ago and then transmission went out again. When I brought the car back to TAO, they immediately said it was my daughter's fault for the way she drives and were reluctant to replace at no cost to me even even though I had a 1 year warranty.After some back of forth they agreed to replace at no cost. When I picked the car up they told me that if this happens again that they will not honor another 1 year warranty for the new transmission they just put in. I then asked for the part manufacturer's contact information so I could follow up and things quickly escalated from there. The woman working the front desk, maybe she was owner, not sure, took a more unpleasant tone and basically told me I should be glad they gave me another transmission. I thought she was very unprofessional in that moment. After nearly 20 years of good TAO service, they ruined a good relationship so I won't be going back there.

I have been taking my Hondas and Acuras to Tao Auto for 14 years. They always provide great, quick and affordable service.I have also been to a Honda dealer a couple times, but the Tao Auto experience is so much better. They keep excellent track of your service records and give you a heads-up if your next visit will be around a major service milestone. This is very helpful for budgeting for upcoming maintenance. They will also give you recommendations on how to save money on your service. I had a great experience with this recently when they replaced my wiper blades.In the end, if you have a Honda, Acura, Toyota or Lexus, Tao Auto is the only place I recommend going for service.

The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. When dropping off my car, they made sure to ask questions and took it for a test drive so they could diagnose the problem. The mechanic let me know what needed to be done before doing the work. My car has over 175K miles and is running great!

The folks at Tao took excellent care of my two Hondas for the last four years until we moved out of the area. This included a recurring sensor reading in my 2010 Element that kept indicating a pricey repair--that the folks at Tao didn't do because their further investigation indicated that it wasn't warranted. I will follow a mechanic who declines to do a repair that they could do, even if not necessary, a long way, and I would still be using them if I weren't a thousand miles away. They are diligent, friendly, professional, kind, and are very careful to give you complete information. A real gem in the Triangle for car repair.

Have used the Cary TAO Auto location for about 5 years.They are 100% honest and trustworthy. I would not bring my Honda any where else.They do both major work (head gasket replacement on my 95 civic) to regular oil changes. Their prices are very fair and have not recommend any unnecessary repairs.Highly recommended.

I took my Honda there for 20 years for oil changes and admittedly very little service needed (in large part to their years of great service). Recently, also with an employee's assistance, sold it easily! One reason was that I have ALWAYS taken that car only to TAO Auto! Thank you TAO Auto for many years of great service!

Came to Tao for the first time and got my oil changed. The people there were very helpful and friendly. The oil change itself was inexpensive, and included a tire rotation plus checking a few other things on my car. I had low tire pressure, so they fixed that as well free of charge. I will definitely be coming back next time I need an oil change.

Could not and would not resolve my check engine light. Charged $168.00 for a smoke test and $35.00 for a fuel cap with no resolution. Instead of providing a solution to my problem, the mechanic stated I should get rid of my 99 Honda accord, which by the way runs great. I will not be returning. Mr. Tire resolved my issue in 1 day.

Very expensive they changed me 116 just to diagnose an abs light on a honda civic. The honda dealership would have charged me less and they gave me a bill of 1935$ if i wanted to get it fixed. I mean on a cheap honda civic how can u expect someone to pay almost 2000$. I got the issue fixed with a 75$ part and 150 labour. Don't let them rip you off.

Very good, fairly priced service which is hard to find. Many folks have recommended bringing their cars here. Just ran into an acquaintance the other day who said they've been using Tao for years ever since their Honda was a baby. Samantha at the front desk offers great customer service which is even harder to find particularly in the auto industry.
