The customer service here is top notch. Jay and Ethan were transparent with my repair, stayed in touch with me throughout the whole process, and provided quality service in great time.I installed a defective thermostat housing on my Jeep (unknowingly, of course) and couldn t figure out why it kept leaking coolant. I brought it in on a Monday or Tuesday and it was ready to pick up by Thursday afternoon. They used some of the parts that I had bought to try to fix it myself which saved me some money on the overall repair. They also provided a 2 year warranty for the work done and the housing that they installed. I can t express enough how valued I felt as a customer.At Renaissance Auto Care, you can expect exceptional customer service and quality auto repairs for a fair price. Thank you Jay and Ethan!

I'm a DIYer, and had hit a snag on an AC issue. Rather than schedule an appointment and charge me, the person on the phone had me consider an option I hadn't thought about. Low and behold, my AC is fixed and I can't recommend these guys enough. They truly just want to help. I'll be suggesting them to everyone.

The owner and staff are incredibly knowledgeable. If you re tired of getting beat over the head from your dealership for sub-par work you MUST go see these guys. Jay was so helpful and it was clear he cares for every person that walks through his doors. Whether you need a new shop, price shopping repairs, or just need a simple oil change you definitely want to give these guys a shot.

I cannot speak highly enough about Jay and his team. They legitimately brought my failing car back to life - Jay is honest and will give very detailed feedback about the car. To the point I knew every detail about what was wrong with my car.I continue to refer anyone I can to this shop because of the more than fair pricing and commitment to stellar service.

I hope others read this review and reconsider using this repair shop. Utterly unethical owner. Jay charged me a diagnosis fee for air conditioning repair. When I picked up the car he said if things don't work, to bring it back. The air conditioning did not work and I took it back after a few days. He said the blower had gone bad and that it would cost an additional $700 more to fix it. The blower was not working from the get go. So what kind of diagnosis did he do? Very disappointing. On top of it he charged for evac and recharge which was not needed.Services: Auto A/C recharge, A/C installation & repair, Air conditioning

Renaissance did a great job on a last minute repair on my Ridgeline. Other places were quoting ridiculous rates but they did the job fast and at the lowest price in town! I highly recommend them!

Honest, down-to-earth mechanics who really know their stuff! If you need help buying a car - these are the guys to help. If you are going to be on the road for a long trip and want to know if there is anything to be taken care of beforehand - these are the guys. No BS, no "mansplaining", just honest answers to all your questions. I highly recommend Jay and his crew. They are truly THE BEST. I ve been taking my BMW to Renaissance Auto for a couple years now and couldn t ask for a better experience. Jay and his team are very detailed in the work they do and never pressure you to make unnecessary repairs. They ll walk you through every step of the way and ensure you make the best decision for YOU. The work has always been done faster than I expect and always at a fair price. They ve helped me with everything from routine work/diagnosis to extensive AC work. I can t speak highly enough about them!

I'm not even a customer yet and Jay spent 20 minutes on the phone with me discussing a second opinion I wanted on a $2000 dealer-recommended repair. After asking me lots of questions about the car, its performance, and what the dealership told me, Jay didn't think it was particularly urgent and said I could probably just wait and have them look at it in the spring when it is due for its NC inspection. I'll definitely be visiting them in March.

Recently we had friends visiting from out of state. During their journey their BMW's "Check Engine" light came on. They contacted both BMW dealers in the Triangle area from the road and neither would even consider doing a quick code check for "at least 2 weeks". I contacted Jay at Rennaisance Auto (who services my Acura) and he agreed to squeeze in our friend's car for a quick diagnosis the next day. He was able to quickly assure them the issue was transient and they could continue their journey in a couple of days with confidence a breakdown was not in the cards. This was a great stress relief for our friends and put the fun back in the visit! Fantastic customer service and very human concern from Rennaisance Auto and I'll absolutely continue to see them for our auto service. Oh ... and Jay didn't even want a dime for this effort! I just moved to NC and found myself in need of a place to take my car for service on my A/C. I was really looking for a local business so I did a research deep dive and came across the amazing reviews for Renaissance Auto Care. I called to make an appointment and the owner, Jay, was able to get me in right away.From my first conversation with him, I felt welcomed and comfortable leaving my vehicle in his hands. He was thorough in letting me know what could ve been happening with my A/C, and what he needed to do to diagnose the situation.I had some things to do at home so a staff member, Ethan, drove me home so I could wait comfortably for Jay s call. Once inspected, he explained everything to me to make sure I understood what was happening with my car and the options I had for repair. Not once did I feel pressured to have work done. Jay just explained his findings and let me make my own decision. I was given a quote range (which I expected because with the A/C system, you never know if it s minor or major until you re in there) and timeframe for the service completion and he kept me updated on the progress. It took very little time, the final cost was on the low-end of the quote and my air was finally working again!Renaissance Auto Care is everything these other positive reviews say they are-and more. Reliable and dependable. I will definitely be going back for all of my auto maintenance and future repair work. Nothing but praise for their customer service and repair work. Jay really helped my daughter since she goes to NC state and I am back in Chicago. He identified the issues with her vehicle and fixed them quickly. He even spoke to me over the phone to explain the issues before he fixed them to make sure I understood the required repairs and the costs involved. My daughter had been looking for a mechanic she and I could trust, I think we found him.UPDATE 06/10/2021: I can't say enough about the service jay provides. My daughter is away at college and needed to purchase a used car. Jay helped her along the way since I was not able to be there to look at vehicles. Jay checked three cars for her and he contacted me to discuss his findings and his thoughts on the vehicle price. He is very accommodating in a way that I have never experienced at a repair shop. He is honest and really seems to care about his customers. I find that very important since I am a business owner which makes me sensitive to how customers are treated. Mom's and Dad's this is the place for your sons and daughters to bring their vehicle if you are looking for trustworthy repair service.

All I have to say is this is the best service I have ever received from any mechanic!!! Very knowledgeable, friendly and gets the job done!!! My car did not get 100% fixed but it was not due to them, he literally exhausted all options and just couldn't finish the job....have to take my car to the dealership for a software update and recall (which only they can do). If I ever need service again I will definitely be going back to see Jay!!!!Service: Auto maintenance

My wife's Volvo V70 was making a strange sound. I had never been to Renaissance and needed to find a garage familiar with European cars and I took it to Jay at Renaissance. He originally diagnosed the issue and thought they fixed it by replacing a part in a timely manner. My wife and I had to borrow a family members car to continue day to day commutes while the car was in the shop. We picked it up and drove it home. The next day we went on a family vacation for a week. When we returned we started the car and the same noise was apparent. I called Jay and he said to bring the car in the next business day. I explained we didn't have any transportation lined up like before, so he offered us a loaner at no charge. I expressed some disappointment about the previous repair not being the cause of the noise. Jay assured me that he would take care of us, so the following day they called to tell me that they resolved the issue. (Another part) When I asked how much this repair would be, they told me no charge. I picked it up and returned the loaner. It's great to find a business that stands by their work even at a loss. I can't say enough about Jay and Renaissance Auto Care Inc. They earned my business and I will return and refer friends and family from now on. If I could give six stars I would! Jay and Kevin are hands down the nicest and best mechanics in the Triangle! They will always give you the best price and even turn you away if there isn't a repair that needs to be done. Their work is better than the dealership and they never over promise. They worked on our fleet of used Chevrolets, Cadillac, and Toyotas for years and kept them running like champs! Jay always takes time to explain everything, and review options with me (one of my cars is 8 years old). They are honest, courteous, highly competent, and completely customer-focused. My AC stopped working and I was looking for a trustworthy shop to replace the AC compressor and find the root of the problem. I decided to go to Renaissance due to all the 5 star reviews and they did not disappoint. I was weary about taking it anywhere because I ve had several issues with this car and have had bad experiences with mechanics in the past. Jay was as upfront and honest as you could ask for. He diagnosed my car and found the problem before he charged me anything. He gave me a full run down of what they would need to do, gave me a quote, and said he d have it ready by the end of the next day. Sure enough, they finished it right on time, they went above and beyond, and charged me less than he initially quoted because it wasn t as bad as it could have been. Very impressed with these guys, I ll happily go back and recommend them to others. Best of all, I have AC again! Thanks Jay and everyone else at Renaissance Auto!Service: Air conditioning

I took my Volvo to Renaissance Auto Care after hitting a pothole. The team there was super friendly and provided me an appointment the next business day. They checked out my vehicle for structure issues and did not find any. They then recommended a place to help with repair of the bent rim and tire. I will be going back for my normal auto care needs. Jay, Kevin and Ethan are great. I can't imagine going anywhere else. I started going there because of the tsunami of reviews about their honesty. I'm pretty sure they lost money on me today and the first time I went there, because of that honesty in their diagnoses. However, their service was no different than it was last time when we had a $1,000+ repair. Kevin even found a super low cost way to help with a non-related issue that I had completely forgotten about! I was a mechanic for several years. My father was a mechanic for decades. I know how others operate and Jay & co. are in a completely different ballpark. The honesty, even at a cost to them is not something I've seen before. You know how when you move, the first things you need to find are a good doctor and a good mechanic? Just come here and you've solved half of that equation. Everything in previous reviews is 100% correct! Jay and Gene are are the real deal. I have always done my own work on my vehicles because I distrusted mechanics, but Jay and team have change my perception of garage integrity. They give clear descriptions about problems and the repair options you may have. They have bent over backwards to accommodate us time and time again. They set accurate expectations of the work and completion times and will go out of their way to meet them. Even if that means staying late until the job is finished. Prices are fair and I am comfortable letting them do whatever they feel needs doing (I can't believe I just said that about a mechanic) :-) They are there to earn your business... NOT to just take your money. If I could only find one criticism, it would be that the customer-facing area (waiting room and front desk) needs a bit of sprucing up. I don't expect the atmosphere of a day spa, but a little paint, new furnishings, and general tidiness would go a long way. I have engaged Jay in many off-topic discussions about cars we may be looking to buy, and his passion and knowledge for cars is very apparent. Give them a call. It's what all the cool kids are doing these days. :-)

Wow!! My power window regulator went last night leaving me with a fully open back window. Jay, although not able to get the part in time, was so incredibly helpful in supplying me with information. He is a true gem and I only wished I lived in the Raleigh area because he would have me as a client for life. Outstanding!!! Thank you Jay!

Jay is one of the finest auto mechanics I've come across in the Raleigh area. Took my 97 Land Cruiser for several issues and he patiently explained the list of repairs needed and came up with an action plan to tackle it in phases. I went there after reading recommendations on I8MUD forum and it was a great experience. With his professionalism and quality work, he has earned a customer for life. Great shop for Japanese, German, and American vehicles. So glad to find this gem in downtown Cary! I would rate them 6 stars if I could.

The guys at Renaissance are great. They have taken care of several maintenance issues on my Jeep Patriot, including brakes and bearings. Every time they give me a prompt quote, breaking down part costs and labor, tell me when they can fix it, and are always courteous.It's nice to have an auto repair shop that you can trust to be fair, honest and always have a great attitude. I may not have the most car mechanic knowledge, but they never make me feel silly about that either. I've recommended them to several friends and they have all been happy too.

My wife and I were referred to Jay and we are so glad that we went. After going to the Honda dealership and being told we needed all new pads and rotors and it would cost around $1300, we decided to seek another opinion. Jay drove the car and was honest with us. He stated that the brakes and rotors didn t need to be replaced immediately because they still had plenty of miles left on them. It s very hard to find truthful auto shops that don t try to get you to have everything under the sun done to your car. We will be back to Renaissance when it s time for new brakes and rotors! I will never step foot in Honda of Southpoint again because they will charge you regardless of getting work done to your car or not.
