Disheartening that this shop is temporarily closed. Matt and Kim would always hook me up with top notch service and no run-around. Matt is a mastermind. One of the best WRX/Supra/import mechanics in the Triangle. 16 Subaru WRX owner. Matt has completed a walnut blasting, basic service needs, and even more extensive service needs during the time the shop was open. This is the go to spot for WRX owners in the Triangle.I m hopeful they open again soon.

Matt is a master of his craft. Loved working with him and Kim on my Supra build. If you have a GR Supra... this is the only place I would recommend for modifications and service

Insomnia Motorsports is the best shop I ve ever been to. Great and honest mechanics are hard to find and Matt is exactly that and more. They have worked on 3 of my cars and exceeded my expectations by a long shot, especially with my latest project. Matt is straight up with you and doesn t try to upsell parts you don t need unlike other shops do. Great communication, amazing and fast work are some of the few characteristics that make Insomnia the best shop around. I wouldn t trust anyone else to work on my cars. They always answer every single one of my questions in a timely manner. I will continue to come back to Matt and Kim with future projects. I recommend Insomnia to anyone that wants quality work and wants to leave with their car happy!

Matt is a great Mechanical engineer. He knows what he is doing when it comes to Subaru, Lexus and many other brands. I have been taken my Subaru to Insomnia for all type of service and I'm super happy with the service received. I will recommend this place to anyone regardless what car you drive.Great prices and great work ethic and quality.

Matt is a Subaru genius! He has great customer service and an amazing work ethic. His shop is professional, friendly, and has fair prices. I trust Matt doing anything to my car. He has a customer for life with me since I will always drive Subaru.

Matt and his crew are outstanding techically and truly understand the customer service side of the business as well. They worked me in quickly when I had an issue, helped me prioritize what I needed done, gave my car a comprehensive once over and noted several small things but didn't push them. I actually ended up doing those myself. They were very fair in their time, knowledge and the price was fair for the service and expertise. I will take all my cars to Insomnia from now on.

Matt is an excellent technician! He is extremely knowledgeable , and always presents the situation the way it is and lays out options for you to decide. I am very fistidious when it comes to my cars and Matt does an excellent job of taking care of my Subaru.... you cant go wrong taking your car to the any of the guys at insomnia!

I purchased a used WRX STI knowing that it had been modified in the past. I wanted to have a 30,000 mile service completed as well as get a general health assessment of the car.Matt and Kim we're very accommodating, took a lot of time with me and explained clearly what had been done with the car before my ownership, how the general health of the car was (thankfully good), did the service and made a few adjustments to the car. They also took time to talk about next steps, in a very clear way, that I could take depending on what my goals were with the car and made some recommendations for me moving forward. Of course, their pricing is also very, very fair.Overall, they are a great shop to deal with.

Matt is a very straightforward technician and Kim provided the quote I requested quickly. He installed upgraded motor mounts and a Killer Bee oil pickup and baffle on my 06 STI. The price was fair, the work was clean and the communication was clear. I would not hesitate to refer this business to anyone. Had a pleasant experience through and through with Insomnia. Kim was very patient and respectful, ensuring that time was allotted via e-mail correspondence to answer any questions I had surrounding requested maintenance. Services provided were prompt, and I received routine phone correspondence regarding pricing before services were performed. Matt is a great guy and super knowledgeable about all things Subaru. Shortly after purchasing my 2010 STI Special Edition, I took it in to Insomnia for him to look over. The previous owner included a box of "extra" parts. Matt took one look in the box and then spent the next 20 minutes pouring over the car, and putting back fasteners that the previous owner failed to put back. I am officially renaming Matt to Matthew "Above-and-Beyond" Meadows. Since then, Matt has upgraded my steering and taken the car to stage 2. I will never take this car to another mechanic. Thanks, Matt!

Insomnia Motorsports is THE place to go if you need any mechanical automotive repair. After recently purchasing a 2005 Subaru STI, the timing belt went and caused damage to the motor. Matt knew I was on a really tight budget after just purchasing the car and worked with me on cutting costs and saving money where I could without sacrificing reliability. As for a technician, Matt is the best I've met. Rather than throwing parts at the problem and crossing my fingers, he pulled it all apart and diagnosed the exact nature of the problems. Highly recommend!

My first time going to Insomnia Motorsports and it was Top Notch. Matt is an awesome person, very friendly, knowledgeable, and a great mechanic. He answered all my questions, did great work on my car, and was a great teacher. Matt install an IAG AOS and a heatshield for me. While doing the install if he saw something that was wrong he would fix it and let me know what he fixed. I m planning to run a FMIC in the future on my WRX and he even planned to make sure it wouldn t interfere with the intercooler. Will definitely be back again!

This is the shop to go to when you have a problem and need it taken care of immediately.I recently purchased a 2011 WRX and took it to Matt and Kim to get it checked out. To date they have helped me with a pinched axle seal, oil change, O2 sensor, intercooler coupler replacement, cat-back exhaust replacement and most recently a clutch replacement that they got it done in a day.Matt is very knowledgeable and explains step by step about everything he did to repair your vehicle. And Kim works with you to get you the most competitive estimate to get your vehicle back on the road.I ll be bringing my vehicle back to insomnia for service. Just hoping that it won t be anything major for awhile.Thanks Matt and Kim

Insomnia Motorsports is the best shop I have taken my car to. Matt is an excellent mechanic and is always very knowledgeable and and trustworthy. It would be very difficult to find a better mechanic in the area. I highly suggest taking your vehicle here.

Matt is an automotive genius! His work ethic is second to none and his prices are always fair. I take my daily driver, my track car, I even take my mom's hybrid. He always gets the job done right and won't try to sell you a bunch of stuff you don't need.

Matt is a great guy to work with. He did some significant work for us quickly and was very helpful during the process. He let me see what came off the car and compare it to the new parts before he put it all back together. And he contacted me when things came up. Exactly what you want from a mechanic. We will be back.

Matt and the guys at Insomnia are absolutely top notch. I am on my second owned Subaru WRX and I will NEVER take my vehicle anywhere else as long as I live in Raleigh. unbeatable reliability, work and honesty. I unfortunately can t rate them any more than 5 stars on here.

I would like to preface this with - If you're anywhere near a subaru in the local car scene - you are almost guaranteed to hear about Matt. For good reason too - dude does some awesome work. The work is timely and quality. After going to far too many car meets, seeing his work - i had to try him for myself - especially as major engine work was imminent.Kim's customer service is fantastic. From initial contact to vehicle delivery, she made sure to stay in contact, and let me know what the status was.I dropped it off for diagnosis in the morning, and had a response back by mid afternoon, lovely, quick turn around time. During my phone call after diagnosis - they made sure that i had a solid understanding of what the results were - and options they could present on how to proceed.She was able to help me work around my budget to get my car's build foundation and ready to build on. They helped clear up any questions very quickly, gave solid build recommendations, and a route to take as the build progresses. Response time was awesome, as my job limits me to use digital means of communication rather than phone.I'm typically someone who likes to service their own car or service it with friends. I think insomnia may have changed this.My subaru hasn't ran better, and i have the peace of mind that the best in the business has had his hands on it - and that everything is done correctly.TL;DRInsomnia is great to work with! They give solid advice and are very knowledgeable in their field.Considering using them? i wouldn't give it another thought. Go see for yourself. These guys rock!

Went in for basically a Dr. Apt for my car. Matt spent ample time w me dissecting my car w me and offering his advice on how to make it last. He really knows a lot about the industry, parts, other companies, and Subarus. Glad I found him!

Went to Insomnia Motorsports for the first time and I am mad at myself for not finding Matt sooner. Never has a mechanic spent so much time discussing the health of my car with me. He really cares about the details and is a straight shooter regarding costs. I highly recommend this quality shop.

Have all my vehicles worked on here and everytime the service is top notch! The owner Matt cares for my cars like his own and as the name suggest he's worked into the wee hours of the morning to make sure the work gets done. Highly recommended!

Great Subaru shop, very detailed service and problem analysis. Amazing Suburu knowledge and service. Matt has years of experience and will answer your questions if you want quality regular maintenance or if you want to do some tuning. Just bought a Forrester XT and have already learned several critical things about turbo care and oil changes I would have never gotten from a dealer or less skilled independent shop. Take your baby to Insomnia.

Went in for Brake Service as I needed new Rotors and Pads, and while I was there they noticed that my oil change was due. They were very professional, fast, and did an excellent job. The whole process went very smooth, and they kept me updated on a few minor maintenance requirements that would be needed in the future.Car Make / Model - 2001 Lexus IS300Mileage - 178k

I was referred to Matt s Insomnia Motorsport by an employee at O Rileys, he said not to be thrown off by the name. Figured I would give it a shot, and so very glad I did. It Is refreshing to work with a honest mechanic who was not going to rip you off, who did AC work for me hundreds of dollars cheaper than any quote I could find (excellent work btw), and when I return for further work, he charged me less than the quote because he finished faster than anticipated. Who does that!??? Keep up the good work Matt!
