We had a heater hose bust on my husband's truck and were broke down on the side of the road. Charles towed us off the side of the road in the very early hours of the morning and fixed the issue so that we could resume our vacation. We are thankful to have met him and thankful for all he did for us. We recommend him for any emergency. He is one of the most down to earth, nicest guys you will meet and will definitely go the extra mile for you!

Charles was so kind and helpful with my car. I needed a battery replaced and couldn't get it done at Autozone due to my computer having to be reset along with it. They referred me to Charles just down the street and he was more than happy to help. Not only did he replace my battery, but he fixed my air intake tube that was missing screws, as well as topped my engine oil off! He is incredibly affordable which I appreciated tremendously and with his quick and effective services I just had to give him a tip as well. He was more than happy to explain my car to me and really cares about your safety and wellbeing more than anything.

I can't thank Charles enough for the great service he provided and his promptness. Our church youth group recently went on their youth retreat and the vehicle they were on wouldn't start due to the battery being bad. Being over four hours away, my husband could not get there to help them in a timely manner. I looked for 24 hour services for the area and Wrenchworks popped up! Having good reviews, I gave Charles a call. He was quick to answer and was at the vehicles location within 15 minutes of letting him know the situation. He was able to change the battery out and have them on their way all within 45 minutes of getting the call that the car wouldn't start. If you are in the Boone area and need anytype of mechanical help, I highly suggest Charles! We couldn't be more appreciative of his service that night.

I cannot stress how much Charles did for me. We had gone snow tubing and a blizzard hit and my car was slipping and had to leave it LITERALLY at the top of the mountain in a snowbank. Charles was a little busy but he called me around 6pm letting me know he would get the car. I was a little scared for him bc I knew exactly where the car was and it was dangerous. When he got to the location he couldn t find the car and he called me and talked to me UNTIL he did.( let s also add it was below freezing temperature). A couple hours later, he shows up at my hotel with the car. They even helped me remove the thick ice from it. I CANNOT recommend them enough.

I only needed a headlight bulb changed for my 2011 Nissan Rogue. After spending over $100 for the HID Light bulb for my Rogue, I asked the staff at AutoZone where was a mechanic in Boone, NC that I can trust. They told me Wrenchworks. Their recommendation was great. I had a limited amount of money in my bank account from paying rent and spending the money for a light bulb. He didn t and didn t even take the money I did have as payment. I highly recommend Charles for any of your auto or towing needs. He is a very nice, down to earth guy. Simply amazing!! We were on our way to Boone for a long weekend with our 27 foot travel trailer camper when one of the wheel bearings and drum brake on the camper decided to fail in Blowing Rock. The wheel was about to come off so we had to drop the trailer where I pulled over. We called Wrenchworks because of the great reviews, and I can't emphasize enough how accurate all the reviews are. Charles showed up an hour later and told me to go make the best of our weekend, and he would get the wheel repaired. I was expecting to return to Boone a week or two later to pick up the camper, but Charles had it repaired BEFORE the end of the weekend, so I was able to bring the camper home completely repaired. Charles and his team are the best in town! Give them a call whenever you need auto and/or trailer repairs!!

Charles is a lifesaver! We were staying in a house on a very steep hill when it snowed a ton. Charles came with chains and helped us get the car down the steep hill safely. He was so helpful and friendly. We feel very lucky to have found him!

On Christmas vacation on Beech Mountain . Leaving on the 26th to go back home. My truck broke down on a very cold and rainy Christmas Day! Every auto shop in town was closed and other towing services could not get to me until the next day. Found Wrench Works on the internet and Charles was able to come out to Beech Mountain and tow my truck back into his shop in town and was able to get me moving so I can make it back home to SC to make permanent repairs. Super solid and reasonable considering the holiday and all! Would definitely recommend his services!

Such a helpful and good-hearted company! Had an issue with brakes and could not get any nearby tow trucks to help. They came from Boone to Newland to figure out the problem and get the car towed. With the weather getting so cold, it s nice to know that you can trust someone to show up and help. I truly appreciate it!

I was in Boone visiting my daughter when my car broke down and I needed a tow. AAA was unresponsive (after 45 minutes i was still waiting for a service provider to be assigned ) so I called Wrenchworks. Charles showed up within 10 minutes at 6:30 pm on a holiday, towed my car to his shop, and even gave me a loaner car so I could get back to my hotel that evening. By the time I was ready to leave two days later, he had completed a complicated repair at a fair price and I was able to head home. Very thankful for Charles and Wrenchworks!Service: Car towing

Did our family a solid on Christmas night. Charles responded to our call and towed our vehicle from beech mountain to Boone and fixed it quickly and got us back on the road in time for us to make our trip back home. Definitely recommend Wrenchworks for all of your vehicle needs.

This company was a Godsend. I bent an axle on my 28 foot Airstream. I needed to vacate the campground the next day and tow the trailer to the Charlotte Airstream dealer for repair. Charles, the owner, got the job done. The Airstream was delivered to Charlotte safely and at a reasonable cost. Charles came out to the campsite to make sure he could do the job. He was professional and courteous in every way. My wife and I will never forget Charles and we can't thank him enough.

The staff at WrenchWorks were super friendly and amazing to work with. My family and I were vacationing in Blowing Rock for spring break when the coolant temperature sensor in our 2016 Tahoe went bad causing the fan to continuously run and the temperature gauge to stop working. When the local Chevy dealership turned us away because they couldn t fit us in, I found WrenchWorks online. Charles said bring her in as soon as we open at 10am and I ll get it fixed . A few hours later and we were good to go. The location was perfect to walk into downtown Boone and around ASU s campus, too, while we waited.

Hi Y'all,Charles at Wrenchworks is my hero. It was 9:00 + p.m. Very dark night. Broken down in the woods alone on Hwy. 88 (on the road itself) in North Carolina deep farm country. Charles, very understanding and concerned about my safety, said it would take about 20 minutes or so but he would be there. And he was. He just didn't say it. He fixed my flat tire and was so very kind. I went to Wrenchworks the next day to get my regular tire and remove the donut. Feels like family you can Trust. Thank you Charles and your service team. Great experience with Mr. White and the guys at Wrench Works. Very knowledgeable with custom audio setups and careful with their work. Got my Durango in and out way faster than I expected and even changed my rear blinker for free. If I could rate him a 10 star out of 5 I would.My gratitude for Charlie and his shop Wrench Works Auto can t be put into words. Thank you doesn t even come close. My experience with Charlie was beyond positive, enjoyable, and meeting him was a bit of a miracle.This isn t a paid review, this is a genuine review from my heart to express my appreciation for this man. My car engine blew up when I got over the last mountain to Boone, and I cautiously pulled up to the only auto shop in sight, Wrench Works. I m a 27 year old female, I had never been to Boone, I was nervous and a little frightened to walk into an all male auto shop. Luckily, once I met Charlie I immediately felt at ease and knew he was a genuinely good guy.I met Charlie and he literally dropped everything he was doing to help me immediately. He was kind, professional, polite, and such a gentleman. He diagnosed my car immediately and offered to go to the auto store himself and grab the parts I needed to fix my car. He invited me to join, so we grabbed the parts and even got milkshakes on the way home, lol. Not only did he pay for my milkshake (thank you!), but he fixed my car and is ultimately the sole reason I was able to get back to Charlotte safely without being stranded on the highway.Meeting Charlie that night was a miracle, and I highly highly highly recommend his auto shop to anyone who is looking to buy a car or have their car fixed. He s an honest, kind man who knows automobiles from the inside out. He gave me an AMAZING price for the 4 hours of work he put into helping me.If you need any maintenance, or want to buy a new car, go to Charlie. He ll give you an honest deal without trying to be a jerk and sell you out like so many auto dealers. I don t ever write reviews for businesses, but this guy is a saint and is a trust worthy mechanic. Get to his shop asap, you won t be disappointed! Thanks Charlie. You re the absolute best. My husband and I were visiting Boone for the weekend when an engine warning light came on in my car, of course, at 5 pm Friday afternoon! We luckily were referred to Charles by the first garage we randomly called, which was closing until Monday. Charles already had a full day booked on Saturday, but, given our predicament, he put aside other projects to help us. He checked out the car, which was not driveable, and went to great pains to track down the necessary part from another business in town and order a gasket we needed, and he even called Volkswagen to see if my warranty would cover the work. On top of that, he leant us a car we could drive for the weekend since no car rental places were open in Boone by the time we knew the diagnosis. He got the part delivered over the weekend, and we were able to be on our way back to DC by mid afternoon Monday. We made it home with no further problems, and the car is running better than ever! I cannot imagine any other business working this hard for a customer. Charles really saved our visit to the NC mountains!

My wife and I were on our anniversary here in Boone, out taking a hike and our car wouldn't start up. Finally managed to get it to somehow and started driving around town looking for anywhere that could help, but it was already past 6 on a Sunday and basically everywhere was closed. We ended up finding Wrenchworks and managed to park in the gas station lot across the way. Gave the owner a call, but he told me they were closed today (evidently he was sick).I told him about our issue, and he talked me through it on the phone. While on the call, it appeared that the car would be able to start back up again, so I said we'd be fine to wait until tomorrow. After we concluded though, it wouldn't start back up no matter what I did.Our check-out time the next day was at 11 AM and we had basically no good options, so we were preparing to spend the night in the gas station lot. I gave the owner another call to ask what time they opened and chatted a bit about our current situation.After a bit, they were able to open up for us, take a look at our car, and quickly fixed the issue for us. I can't tell you how appreciative I was, especially for them being closed and feeling under the weather.Least I could do is leave them a good review, because they quite literally saved our trip from disaster. Absolutely A+ great people and great service, couldn't recommend highly enough.

I feel safer living in Boone knowing that this shop exists. Charles towed my car to his shop Tuesday night and had it fixed by Thursday morning. The labor cost was very reasonable, especially considering how quickly it was repaired. He was kind enough to show me and explain the issues, what parts were replaced and where they were. He was thrifty and provided a used part, which made the repair much more affordable for me. I wish I knew about Wrenchworks 2 years ago when I had to wait nearly 2 weeks to even have an issue diagnosed, not to mention call many times before even being able to get an appointment booked. Now I know that Charles and his team are a quick phone call away and feel less anxious about something on my car not working in the future.

These guys are wonderful! My family was on a trip in Boone, and we were heading down the mountain on 321 when our right rear tire started to come off. You can imagine how frightening it is to be going down a mountain with a loose tire and 4 kids in the back. It was late on a Sunday night, but Charles came right out with his hauler, tightened the lug nuts and recommended we come back to his shop to make sure the studs were okay. So, he followed us back to his shop, and then jacked up the van and checked the tire. It needed some more repair, two studs had snapped off. We booked a hotel.1) Charles and his guys drove us to the hotel, and then they went back and worked on the car all through the night, completely repairing it. They had us out of Boone by checkout time the next day.2) I was also impressed that they did all of their initial diagnostic work right in front of me. Instead of taking it out of my sight, they let me see what was wrong. I like honesty and transparency in a mechanic.3) I felt cared for, respected, and absolutely sure that my car was going to be fixed and we were in good hands. Dependability is a wonderful thing.I'm forever grateful, and I cannot recommend this shop enough!Services: Car towing, Tire change

My wife and I were heading out of Boone down the mountain on Highway 421 last Sunday afternoon. The brakes, overheated smoke rolling out from the wheel. We Googled tow trucks and Wrench Works Was listed at the top. They had great reviews. I want to add my great review to that. They responded quickly and towed our car to the shop. Even though it was a Sunday afternoon, they offered to take a look at it and if they could get parts repaired Sunday night. That was amazing. Nobody does that. They put it up on the rack and immediately figured out why the brakes overheated. Unfortunately, the repair part was not available on Sunday. Instead they gave us a loaner car until they could have it repaired by mid morning on Monday. They did a great job and the repair cost very very reasonable. Those guys took the care of us. A Tow truck ride is not something I look forward to so hope I don t run into them again , but if you ever need a tow truck near Boone they can help you out.Service: Car towing

My friends car slid 70 ft down a cliff after a rainstorm. Charles and another man got the car out so fast, without a single scratch at 1am. They were amazing! So friendly and came to help so quick. We was told at 2:39 they d be here in 45 minutes.. 2 hours later I called and he said he had to get a new phone and that if I sent my address he d be on.. never showed up at all and then never text back and wouldn t answer his phone.Good luck getting him to show up!!

Charles helped us out in the middle of the night when we got a complete flat. No one else was open during this time on father's day. He even saved us money by just repairing our tire which was relatively new, instead of replacing it.I appreciate the honest business and great service. God bless.

The generosity of the owner and a mechanic at Wrenchworks shown to my husband (and entire family) is mind blowing. My sons truck was on the Hot Rod Power Tour and threw the drivetrain (it fell off on the road). After hours of waiting for AAA to send a tow truck (my husband stayed behind with the truck and sent the rest of us off to Bristol Speedway to finish the trip) he finally found Wrenchworks who towed him to their shop and said they thought they could build a new driveshaft! Many, many hours, trips to part stores and rebuilds were spent on my sons truck. It had more damage from the broken driveshaft spinning under the truck before that piece fell off too. They fixed all of those issues and rebuilt a driveshaft all after hours! They close at 7 and worked until 12:30 am! They offered my husband food, offered to help him find a hotel and kept his spirits up all while trying to make back up plans if things failed. There were having parts shipped to them next day as part of their backup plan. I cannot recommend or thank you enough for helping us limp home from a very long week of driving.Service: Car towing

He and his co-workers were very friendly and accommodating. We appreciate their help and highly recommend their business. As a bonus they were open on weekends.
