I recently had ANOTHER wonderful experience with ProAutomotive!! After a recent auto collision and a subsequent repair at a local Asheville collision center I ended up bringing my car to ProAutomotive after discovering that my vehicle had not been repaired carefully or even completely. They got me in quickly and addressed the numerous concerns and got everything sorted out in a few days. Thank goodness for Andrew! Bruce and Brian who are on the ball! They offer confidence, professionalism and are easygoing at the same time. My satisfaction is 20 on a scale of 10. I highly recommend them for all those reasons. It s a 5 star business! THANK YOU!

Second time taking it here. I've been having many issues with my car as hyundais aren't very good and the people here have been beyond helpful in helping me resolve issues with my car that tend to be common with hyundais. I would highly recommend this place to anyone they will make sure your cars taken care of.

I am a mechanic so when I blew a seal in my truck's rear end while on vacation, I was not happy. Thankfully, Bruce got me right in, and was definitely the right guy for the job. I appreciated his professionalism and courtesy helping me out while I was on the road. Bruce, if you ever find yourself needing help in Williamston, NC, it will be my pleasure to return the favor.

I bought a car here about a month ago - they don't sell more than a few per year, but it's legit!! They were so friendly, courteous, and answered all my questions very straightforwardly. The car was exactly what they advertised, in great condition, and a very reasonable price point. I am very happy with my purchase!

'99 F-550 wouldn't start and it seemed like a grounding/power issue. They got me in and diagnosed quickly. I signed off on them replacing the battery cable ends and an alternator. However, after they replaced the cable ends, they saw that the alternator was fine. Fantastic shop for getting me in and out quickly AND for not charging for extra parts and work, once they had better data!

Really appreciate Bruce & Brian, and the whole crew. I took my 30k mile nearly new Rav 4 to them, after I was told at Fred Anderson that it needed a new starter, and they worked endlessly to support me & find the true problem (shocker, not the starter). They educated me and were very transparent along the way.Services: Electrical repair, Auto battery replacementServices: Electrical repair, Auto battery replacement

We were on a road trip from Texas. After arriving in North Carolina, several trouble lights appeared on our dashboard. Phoning dealers and independent mechanics, we kept getting the same response. We would have to wait for weeks for an appointment. When we phoned Pro Automotive they told us to come by at lunch time. Brian quickly diagnosed the problem with the professional grade diagnostic computer. After identifying the sensor that was needed, the sensor was ordered and delivered within fifteen minutes. The entire process took less than two hours and the car has been working well ever since. Our one regret is that we can t take Pro Automotive back to Texas with us.Service: Electrical repair

We had our check engine light come on on a Friday afternoon while in town for a trip and were so worried we wouldn t be able to drive home (road trip from Chicago with a 1-year-old ) thankfully they were able to squeeze us in before close despite being busy and got us set to drive. Kind and quick - would recommend!

Found them on Google when vehicle started shaking violently while driving from Nashville to Winston Salem NC. Bruce was backed up work orders, but took me in anyways. Found and confirmed my issue with two other staff mechanics. It was tires. Referred me to a good tire shop and I was soon back on the road safely. Great service

STAY AWAY. I spent $11000 on a vehicle based on an inaccurate pre purchase inspection. The owner was hilariously unprofessional and rude and wouldn't even take accountability for the mistake or even give a refund. I had to spend 150+ dollars on a severe alignment issue they missed (wheel was turned 45 degrees) and spend 100+ more on an actual inspection. All I can do is hope I didn't throw 11 grand in the garbage. Unbelievable.UPDATE 05/31: I just went to another mechanic to get an actual inspection and within MINUTES they found 3 pages of failure codes and faulty systems. Clearly ProAutomotive didn't even bother to check the diagnostics of my vehicle either and it's becoming more likely that I bought a lemon due to this shops complete disregard. Will update with more information soon.UPDATE 06/05: Bruce, The owner of Pro Automotive, now feels like it is necessary for him to pretend like I did not give him the money for the pre purchase inspection. I gave $115+ cash to the prior owner of the vehicle to give to Pro Automotive for the inspection. All parties including Bruce were aware of this. I even suggested that the prior owner come to obtain the refund even though it was my cash. This is when Bruce replied with "well you're out of luck". So now that that lie is out of the way, This supposed "inspection" at Pro Automotive missed issues with the VSA, ECM, battery voltage issues, and issues with the transmission. SEVERE issues that make this truck undrivable without thousands in repairs. The entire point of a prepurchase inspection is to make sure the vehicle is driveable, and Pro Automotive missed every aspect of this vehicle being undrivable. If Bruce or his crew would've noticed even one of these issues(minus the alignment) during the supposed inspection I would not have bought the vehicle. It makes absolutely no sense for me to go through all of this with this amount of detail without it being unfortunately 100 percent true.

I had some noise coming from the front of my car so I dropped it off to get it checked out. They said I needed a new cv axle/cv axle joint. Also said it s best to replace both instead of just one which I can understand. The noise was bad and axles are important so ok, I pay 1100 dollars. Get the car back and the noise is still there, exact same. I drop it off again and they send me an estimate to replace both front rotors and both front brake pads. 450 dollars.I appreciate how quick they looked at my car and got the work done, I also appreciate them making my broken door handle more secure and functional with a zip tie which I never asked them to do.I can t help but wonder though how bad my cv axle/joint really was since it didn t have anything to do with the noise I brought it in for. How much longer could I have driven it without needing it fixed. Questions I ll never have the answer to. I drive a 2002 Corolla so $1100 is a hell of a lot of money to me. Might have been a better idea to get a second opinion on the noise. If my cv axle/ cv axle joint was on its last life and about to fail, then good for them 5 stars, but if I really didn t need it replaced and could have saved over $1000, then I d give them 1 star for misdiagnosing the issue, which cost 120 on its own

I woiuld like to recommend Brian at Pro Automotive. He worked hard to accomdate my needs and was most honest and helpful. As an older person who has had many auto repair experiences, it was a pleasure to find Brian who I felt is most honest and trustworthy. If you find your way to Pro Automotive, ask particularly for Brian. You won't be sorry.KWServices: Vehicle Inspection, Auto battery maintenance

An engine pulley failed on my car leaving work. Had it towed to a chain big auto shop. They quoted me for, all in all, a relatively straightforward repair. The part needed was just over $100 and the shop marked it up well over 100%, let alone the highest labor prices I've seen yet. Before agreeing to the quote, I made a quick call to Pro Automotive on a friend's recommendation--Bruce immediately answered and was immensely helpful. We sat on the phone awhile and he priced out the same repair, nearly half the price of the big shop with the same turn around.I am a firm believer that valuable, skilled services (i.e. auto repair) deserve to be properly compensated, but I equally believe in basic fairness and honesty. Bruce and his team provided these. They were up-front and treated me with respect--what else can you ask for?Skip the big, chain shop and go to Pro Automotive, a trusted local mechanic.Service: Engine repair

Came in last minute on a Friday (during lunchtime too!!) after my Check Engine light came on while driving back from Banner Elk to Asheville, about a 2 hour drive.Bryan was the first person at Pro Automotive I had the pleasure of meeting and he got me set up in their system very quickly and let me know that his colleagues would run a diagnostic as soon as they got back from their lunch break. I was so grateful they were all so open to taking a look at my car even though I came in on a Friday during lunchtime! After the diagnostic indicated a problem with the car s battery they did some additional testing and ultimately decided it s time to replace my car s battery. I also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Bruce, during this time! He explained to me exactly what the problem was and even went into detail after I asked exactly what that meant for my car. I ve gotta tell ya, these are some of the sweetest gentlemen I ve spoken with, so well-mannered, kind, and easy to talk to.So, have to get a new battery, no big deal, but unfortunately I drive a hybrid, which means the type/size of battery (not the hybrid battery) for my car is usually not readily available as it is not as common. For some perspective, the last time I needed a new battery, I had to wait a week before the mechanic could get his hands on one leaving me stranded in Raleigh for almost a week.Miraculously, they were able to have a battery for my car delivered in 30 MINUTES!!! Had it installed in about 10 minutes. Price was very good considering I drive a hybrid and I was out of there within two hours. For an unscheduled visit on Friday and no prior diagnostic, two hours is absolutely AMAZING!!!So grateful for these gentleman and will definitely be visiting them with any future car troubles that come up!Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Battery

First off, I want to apologize for this late review. In addition, I rarely leave any reviews, but felt it was necessary because of the level of service and care Bruce provided. My car is almost 20 years old and still runs and looks new. That is, in part, because of the staff at Pro Automotive. It has been an extremely tough year and on top of everything, I have experienced some serious mechanical issues. Although it took a little longer that hoped, the quality of the job was unlike any other in Asheville. There are auto mechanics and then Bruce, who is honest and knowledgeable about what he does. He will always quote a price that is competitive and fair. He will always do the work that he says and is not the kind of person that try's to add additional services or repairs that are not needed. Their services are quality and reputable, and he will always replace parts with equal or greater quality. My car is a great example of just how vested Bruce is to his customers. The entire staff is amazing and would recommend Pro Auto Tech to anyone looking for a great mechanic that is trustworthy, reliable, and honest.I did not get paid to write this review, nor receive any incentives. I am just a simple customer who found peace of mind with Pro Auto Tech. I know now that whenever ANYTHING happens to my car, Bruce will be there to help. Finally, just a huge thank you to Bruce and his team for going the extra mile to keep my 20 year old car running great and on the road. I appreciate all of you at Pro Auto Tech, and hope you all know just how much you have saved me in both money and time.Jonathan Morgan11/10/2021Services: Transmission, Steering & suspension repair, Engine repair, Wheel alignment, Oil change
