While Traveling back home to Garner (outside Raleigh)from Bryson City our battery light came on. I Immediately called my mechanic who told me to find an autozone and have the alternator tested. We got to the Auto zone and it was a bad Alternator our Mechanic advised us that we needed to replace it immediately and to find a local shop. So I asked for a referral from autozone, And they recommended mountain view. Which was right down the street walking distance as my van was acting Possessed and lost complete power as we coasted in the parking lot in front of a bay. The fit us in timely and Wayne even drove to the honda dealership as I only wanted to use honda parts. You can imagine how stressed I was about this whole situation and the unexpected cost I had not plan on spending. But Mountain view was professional and Courteous to me in a very stressful situation. They were done in about 3 hours or less we actually got an uber to go explore the outlets to take our mind off of it while they were working on it. But I want to thank Mountain view for saving our day and getting us home safely. I don't think I said thank you but THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for saving the day! I highly recommend this shop.

I bought a Groupon coupon for an oil change and tire rotation. I went to the store on Patton Avenue and dealt with the service manager named Mike. He was pleasant, courteous and knowledgeable. They did the oil change, tire rotation and rebalanced the tires for an excellent price. They also checked the car and made some repair recommendations for the future. There was no pressure to do more work. I have had older cars for decades, and dealt with many repair shops. In my opinion, for the work described above, you cannot get a better deal and work with nicer people.

I strolled into town on a random road trip and had a bad sound coming from the brakes. I called and they got me in. He said he'd get back to me within the day which was great...1 hour later he called with the diagnosis and 3 hours later it was fixed. They applied the coupons too. They are amazing and if I lived in the area I would be a customer for life. Thank you!

Went in with a groupon for free oil change. They informed me that I needed to replace both CV axles and my brakes were also getting worn out, and it was not safe to drive my car. I turned down the free estimate and took it to my brother (also a mechanic). Turns out I only needed to replace the boots which ended up saving me over $500. By the way, the brakes were fine. Women, don't fall for their smooth talking.

These guys are crooks. Do not take your car there. I took my car to get inspected and they gave me an estimate on $880.00 for the work that needed to be done. I took the car to my mechanic and I really needed $600.00 worth of work. Mt View Tire said I needed my fluids changed which was true so I told them to go ahead since my mechanic said it should not cost more than $75.00 They charged me $401.78 to change my fluids and to put back on the old rotors which were fine in the first place. They charged me $69.96 to open a $20.00 bottle of fuel injector cleaner and pour it in my gas tank. I have to say that they are super nice while they are robbing you. They did say they could give me a store credit for $80.00. This is the store on Patton.

I have been here four times now, with a Groupon every time, and have been very pleased with the service. They're fast, they do a great job, and have never tried to up-charge me. I also think it's worth mentioning that I'm a young female driver and they've never once tried to sell me something I didn't need or tell me something was wrong with my car (essentially lie to me), as other mechanics have tried in the past. So I'll definitely be back.

This is now Mr Tire and they were honest that the screw we saw did not puncture our tire. So we got the wipers replaced instead of paying for a tire repair. Will recommend Charlie and his crew to anyone!

Everyone was super nice. I used a groupon and you can't beat $20 for an oil change. They were honest about the wait so I had someone follow me. It actually took shorter and my car looked exactly how I left it. I will definitely go back for each oil change!

1. They "fixed" the tires on one of our cars and two days later, while it was being driven down a busy highway, the brakes went out completely. My father had to coast it down into a parking lot.2. Twice now after they've serviced my car the Check Engine light has come on within a day of it being serviced. The first time I checked the code, cleared it and it never came back on. The second time I ignored it. If it had only happened once, I wouldn't have given it a second thought. Twice? Nope.3. The last time my car was serviced there my Kindle Fire was stolen out of it. I can't prove that it was them, so I'm screwed. But someone else I know had brand new tools stolen out of their car while it was being serviced there.

The Guys at Mountain View are super nice. The wait is sometimes a little long, but it's worth it for the great service and the clean waiting room. They also will leave your car as clean as you gave it to them. No greasy hand prints on the steering wheel and door handle. And, if you like that sort of thing, they have popcorn and coffee. We drive from two counties over to go here....the service is very personal.

My experience with Mountain View Tire was AWFUL!!!!!!!! Bought a Groupon for an oil change. I called for an appointment, they said to bring in the next morning. Was there before they opened and waited. Once they opened they said that they only had one mechanic working and that it may take awhile and was not sure if they could even get me in that day. They were rude and down right ugly with customer service. They were complaining about how many Grroupons they had sold and could not keep up with them. Well if your business is not able to keep up with all your customers that buy Groupons, THEN DON'T SELL THEM. As I was leaving I was told that if I didn't like the service to write a review. The most rudest people I have ever had to deal with.

I would like to provide you with information about my experience with Mountain View Tire & Service at 32 Tunnel Road in Asheville. I picked up my car from the repair shop two days ago. After paying over $700, I assumed the problems with it bucking & skipping & vibrating were fixed. After driving it for 30 minutes on my way back to my home in Florida, I learned the problems were not fixed. In fact, they got worse and worse to the point I felt quite unsafe. Luckily, though the car quit twice, I was able to make it to a repair shop in Atlanta and a friend's house where I'll be able to stay while the car is getting repaired--again.I left my car with the shop on Monday, letting them know I didn't need it til Friday, so they had plenty of time to work on it and make sure it was fixed. When I asked Mtn View to repair it, I didn't ask them to "just make the check engine light go off". I informed them the problems did not become visible until after it had been driven a while, and that the problem (bucking, skipping) occurred 400 miles before the check engine light came on. It seems the shop followed the diagnostic code appraisal, made the check engine light go off, and never checked to make sure the car actually worked. Did they even leave the car running long enough after repairing it to see if the problem came back as I explained? We discussed the diagnostic codes. One was for a knock sensor. A mechanic at another shop had previously identified that code a week before but said it likely was just a matter of being an old car and so didn't actually require replacing. So when Mtn View's front desk person said I needed it, I asked for him to explain it because the info contrasted what the previous mechanic said. But the salesperson said "the mechanic says you need it". That was not an explanation. He refused to explain further, which naturally made me nervous. He also told me I needed new spark plugs; this was strange because my maintenance log I keep shows I had them replaced 20,000 miles ago and didn't need them for another 40,000 miles. Again I asked for an explanation but got the impatient response "That's what the mechanic said you need." I just wanted an explanation or further information before I paid the $600+ the salesperson said the knock sensor cost. A day later, after discussing the situation with knowledgeable friends who verified that the shop should give me more information before I decided whether to get the knock sensor replaced, I again talked to the salesperson. When I told him I still wasn't sure about getting the knock sensor b/c of what the previous mechanic said, he said that Mtn View's mechanic had conceded that it probably wasn't needed--it's an old car, and that tends to naturally show up in the diagnostic.I would gladly--GLADLY--have paid for the knock sensor, if Mtn View could have explained why it was needed. It seems the shop never checked to make sure the car was fixed before returning it to me. So I was stuck with a $700 bill and a car that still doesn't work. I don't know if the knock sensor causes the problem, or what, but neither, apparently, does their shop. And so I was left in a very unsafe position because of their failure to make sure the car ran right before they returned it to me.I am disappointed in Mtn View. I find the behavior suspect--first, they would have charged me for the knock sensor if I hadn't questioned them; then they said "it wasn't needed anyway" after I challenged them for an explanation, then it might turn out it was actually needed. Regardless, the failure to perform the job of fixing my car is certainly a problem. I have no argument with the $700 I paid; they performed the labor and replaced other items including distributor cap/rotor, and new spark plugs-- which I now question whether they were needed--but they didn't fix my car.--Vista Beasley

Came in with a groupon for oil change and tire rotation. I did not call ahead. They told me it would be a couple hours. I got some breakfast hung out in the break room and less than 2 hours later I was ready to be on my way. I dont know much about cars but from previous experience its was just a regular oil change and no one tried to upsell me on anything.

Expensive, slow.Wouldn't sell me the tires that I wanted. The manager told me about some tires, over the phone, i was sold. I got there that day, the manager was gone and the guy who helped me made fun of his manager (to the manager's wife) and told me I couldn't get those tires. The tires seem good and you get free rotations for the life of the tires. Everyone in the store is very friendly.
