I bought a car from there in June of 2023. The rack and pinion went out on the drive home. Found out the next day that the horn and rear defroster didn't work and the back passenger door won't unlock. So when I brought it back to have the rack and pinion fixed I told them about the other problems. I came back to pick the car up and the other stuff wasn't fixed. They told me quote " you already signed the paperwork. We can give you an estimate on repairs" I'm 3 months away and will be glad to return this car I haven't had a radio the whole time. They gave me a 200 dollar credit to get that fixed but it wasn't enough. To this day NO ONE has offered to fix the problems

Our experience with benchmark of Asheville was awesome we have had 2 vehicles with them just traded one back in after 2 years with 0 down payment.They made the process easy and was so friendly !!

Don t go here or to any other location . Purchased a 2006 Buick Lucerne back in March . It s been 6 weeks . Check engine light is on . Catalyst converter system is shot and all 4 tires are dry rotted. They will not fix the vehicle nor help me find a resolution . All of my payment are made on time and they have no sense of urgency. All of their vehicles are polished until you drive off the lot it s starts to break down. RUN FAR AWAY $2000 in repairs thus far and its still not fixed. They will hound you down for your car payment though if you re 2 hours late Ashely in the service department is HORRIBLE. Horrible attitude and customer service. I can tell you now before she does .. she doesn t know and you just have to call back

READ TO THE END! Amazing! Very polite and professional! Within minutes we knew we were approved! Love our new car!!!UPDATE: Day 8 of loving our new car, the transmission went out. Could take up to two weeks before it s fixed. Kind of regret referring my friends. FURTHER UPDATE: When explained upon purchase, I was told everything that is lubricated is under warranty as long as I am making payments. THIS WAS FALSE! There is a $3000 limit which was used up on the transmission, on day 8 of owning the car. I recently took the car in because it was going through about a gallon of oil every week. $607 later I was told the problem was fixed. Needless to say, I picked up the car on a Tuesday, Wednesday had the oil changed, Sunday it was almost out of oil! I recommend Benchmark if you want to waste money!

2nd vehicle with Benchmark, couldn't be more pleased. These guys are easy to work with and super professional in a laid back kind of way. Ed is my salesman, Go see him, I'm telling you guys you won't regret it. They offer warranties and free oil changes with each vehicle. They also now offer collision on their vehicles. One stop shop for your vehicle needs.

Great sales people. The entire staff was friendly and not pushy at all. They also had a great selection of vehicles. We got a awesome looking and performing fully loaded vehicle. I would 100% recommend giving them a try if your circumstances call for a buy here pay here vehicle. Engine and transmission under warranty as long as you re making payments!

It s a good deal as far as you can see, my friend gave a 3 thousand deposit the car said it was 14,000 after everything the total would have been almost 17,000. Everything was good until there was an accident and then you ll lose the car even though the damage is fixable and the car was still running, but since you re still paying for it the dealer gives a check mark to go ahead and render the vehicle as a total loss to get their money right away and you are left without a car and chump money from the insurance it may be a good deal cause it s easy but it really ends up being a nightmare buyer beware!

Buying a car from Benchmark was incredible. They all were very outgoing and efficient with any questions or tests drives I had in mind.I did have a mishap the second day having it but they got me right into the shop and fixed the problem for me. I really appreciated this because I didn't have another car to drive. If I had any more problems to give them a call and they would look at it for me. It has been okay since! I love my little jeep and can't wait to try out the 4x4 in the snow so I can make it to work! Eddie the salesperson that helped me with the sale for the car was very outgoing!! real people person loved it! Extremely nice as well! Gave me hope for the future and I really appreciate that!!! Traded in my very reliable little car I leased from Benchmark in 2021 (The most reliable vehicle I've own btw), today and I couldn t have more satisfied with my experience with them. Phil was very patient with me and took his time getting me into another vehicle that suited me!! All the staff were very welcoming to say the least.

I just want to say I had the most effortless experience with everyone @Benchmark. John& Eddie took such great care of me. Just knowing that I was coming to look@a Toyota that didn't have a rear view mirror. John took time out the day before to make sure he went&got 1 so I would have it. I don't remember the super nice ladies name that went over my paperwork &I'm sorry about that. But everyone was super nice&it was just an awesome experience. Thank you so much.

BUYER BEWARE ((Please read before doing business with Benchmark Auto Sales)) Where do I start? Maybe the solenoid going out the day of leasing, THEN upon trying to return my vehicle the next business day ((when they opened)) they refused and said I d be out $3,500 if I didn t want the car!!! I thought to myself bummer, but I ll make the best of the situation. BUT THEN I took the Honda Odyssey that I had just leased from Benchmark to Apple Tree Honda where I personally know a master mechanic that has worked for Apple Tree Honda for more than 20yrs. They found a TON OF ISSUES!!! Then I took the vehicle back to Benchmark for repairs under the 30day warranty. Benchmark claimed / guaranteed my car was fixed under the warranty. This was before I left for vacation, but I ended up getting stranded for 8hrs at a gas station three states away from home with four adults and two children in the low 40s overnight? ((< That was only three weeks after leasing the vehicle)) I paid $800 in repair costs before getting to our destination! Oh cannot forget they ll turn off your car after being a week late on payment ((Never think they ll work with you, they won t)) AND I cannot forget the ABSOLUTE WORST THING, they ve done . I called and spoke to an account manager on Monday August 7th, 2023 and said I would be returning my car late next week, then I asked what I needed to do to terminate my lease contract early, they said bring the keys in, turn in my vehicle, and pay a $100 early termination fee, then I d be free and clear! ((Unfortunately after having a lemon of a car for 18 months, I could no long afford the repairs plus the monthly payment)) So the account manager claimed they made a note on my account and would see me next week. ((remember I said I would turn my car in late next week which would have been, the week of 8/14-8/18)) THEY REPOSSESSED MY CAR WITHOUT WARNING, which was Today on August 13th, 2023 No calls, not one voicemail, no text messages, no emails, absolutely nothing! ((Not even a week later))Side note: The best part is that I had just finished a 10hr shift on 3rd, I only got 4hrs of sleep before getting back up to work an 18hr shift on 2nd and 3rd shift I was getting ready absolutely exhausted to see a tow truck attempting to pickup my vehicle! WHY???? Why??? WHY???? I am currently one, ONE payment late but also communicated that I would be voluntarily giving my car back, plus pay the early termination fee. Why was my car taken? Why was I put in a position where I lost money from not having a car to get to work on time? Why did Benchmark leave me in such a vulnerable position without one warning? Why did Benchmark not communicate with me? IF I m giving the car back, voluntarily and agreeing to pay an early termination fee then I d be also willing to pay off the balance, especially for the sake of my credit score/background! These are absolutely horrible people to do business with! -100 out of 5 stars.Better Businesses Bureau claim, here I come! Oh, and cannot forget to leave a Google review. Plus, Yelp! Almost forgot about that one. Yellow Pages? Angie s List? Planet Rate? Salesforce? Glassdoor? Gracious didn t realize all the platforms for writing reviews . Well looks like I have some writing to do! May even get real eager and look into legal advice. But anyway, I hope Benchmark has the day that they deserve!Update: I called Monday morning, 8/14/23, I spoke to a very kind accounts manager that informed me that a text was sent to my phone on Friday, August 11th at 3:46pm by the General Manager, Stephanie Smith and the text stated that I need to pay the balance owed by 5:30pm or my car would be repossessed. The lovely GM gave me less than a 2hrs notice and no other form of communication was sent. Unfortunately, I never received the text and obviously my car was taken. My review stands and will not be changed!Please check all reviews for this business, their Facebook reviews are very telling, especially in recent years. A LOT of similar experiences to mine!

After three failed attempts at other dealers I drove 3 hours away to get a vehicle from Benchmark! Worth the drive is all I'll say! I called about the vehicle I wanted and was able to complete most of the process over the phone with John. I was skeptical at first but I was assured this would be a smooth process! Got there and for sure drove away in the car I wanted! Chrissy was also amazing explaining the fine print and making sure every question I had was answered! I would definitely recommend them to any and every one!

This is such an amazing group to work with . I ve leased two different vehicles with them over the years and I can t say enough about how amazing they all really truly are. Everyone from Eddie in sales department and the two lovely ladies in the office to the all of the gentleman who graciously assisted me in putting a temporary and permanent tag on the vehicle to the absolutely precious older gentleman in the service center who really went above and beyond in replacing sensors in all 5 tires to make sure the vehicle was safe and operating properly. They are all just darling. This group made the process of leasing and servicing my vehicles effortless, timely and with ease. They are friendly and demonstrate a high level of southern hospitality that is such a lost art in today s society and yet that is so appreciated. It s what truly sets them apart from the rest. It was that wonderful warm hospitality that made me lease a 2nd vehicle with them . Since my experience, I ve told several friends and co workers about them and how well they were with me and I highly recommend them.

I'm currently in my second benchmark vehicle. I've had accounts with them since 2019. Their warranty is very limited in what it covers but they did make an exception when my starter went out a month after I got the car. My alternator went out recently and it wasnt covered either. My payments are due every Monday and they usually have a 3 day grace period but will sometimes extend it to day 4. This week I called because I knew I'd be making my payment on day 4 and the accounts manager, Kim said "just make sure you make it Friday because your vehicle could be disabled if you dont." Friday at 3 pm I got off work and was going to pick up my kid from school and deposit my cash so I could make that payment but they had already disabled the vehicle and refused to turn it back on without a payment. I reminded Kim of our conversation and she denied that she told me I could pay it friday. This is the first bad experience I've had with them that wasn't related to the warranty. I would've prefer that Kim just tell me that they couldn't extend until Friday so my kids wouldn't have had to sit in the cold for an hour while I tried to find a way to resolve it. Highly unethical

*** I'm editing my review 12/29/23***I took my van for an oil change at my mechanic. I also had him check out a noise that I've been hearing since I bought the van. I took the van back to benchmark two weeks after buying it and told them about it and had their service center look at it, only to be told it was my tires needed to be rotated.It's not that. They rotated my tires. I even bought new, CORRECT size tires and that still didn't fix the problem. That's because the problem is they sold me a van with a bad wheel bearing!! Not only that. Im having to flush my transmission and I haven't even had this car two months...The salesman wasn't as great as he moved us aside before our sale was even done to get another sale in, there is quite a bit of hidden information they don't tell you before looking at cars and going thru all the paperwork..Be careful if you give them a try!

I ve had my car for barely 3 months and it s been nothing but a problem I had it in the shop the Wednesday before thanksgiving and got it back on the following Friday and was told nothing was wrong with my car and it s now Sunday and my car is doing the exact same thing I told them it was doing. It won t drive when put into gear. I don t recommend getting a car from this place or having them do work on your vehicle

As you would any bnph place please do your research and read every review before you decide to work with benchmark . I had a 08 Sentra worth 5k at most I payed over 6 grand on it it s not worth the 10 grand they want for it and it got so bad I had to pick between my home or a car thankfully the lord up above provided me with something but I almost lost my home over a overpriced broken car . Let s not add that I had to repair it multiple times including new breaks and much more . All I m saying is chose wisley yes u may have the money now but when times get hard this company will not work with you.
