NO STARSI made an appointment for a routine B2 service. Rick did not have the correct parts and my car was in for an additional day which I found to be irresponsible, I had made an appointment weeks in advance. upon picking my car up, i noticed the engine light was on, I called 2 times and left a message for him regarding this, NO call back. I went there to inquire about this. Rick's RUDE response "what do you want me to do about it" VERY RUDE!!, my engine light was not on prior to me taking my car for service. He hesitantly looked at my car an turned the engine light off. told me to call him if it came back on, which it did and I did, no return call again. I took my car to Mercedes to find out for $223.00 that the mechanic unplugged a hose and that he did not plug it back in. I would never return to Rick's shop nor would I ever recommend anyone to have to endure his rudeness and lack of customer service.

I had a great experience getting my vehicle repaired. Rick was transparent with pricing, efficient, and everything is running smooth. I will definitely be bringing my vehicle back for regular maintenance and checks.

Spoke with Rick Friday last week initially about a problem with my daughter's Fiat 500. Discussed the problem with the window. We agreed I would call back early this week to schedule the work. Then discussed working on my Smart car. Just called back and got an abrupt response from Rick "we don't work on Fiats." Rather new to the area so will be finding another place for servicing our Fiat, Smart Car, Crossfire and Jag.

Only shop I will take my BMW to. Rick is one of the most honest people I have ever encountered. The first time we took our BMW to him, the RPMs were dropping with a cold start. Rick could have raked me over the coals for a new fuel injector, I was concerned the car needed a new one. Rick had my car for two days, was able to determine my car needed a simple oil change, and the issue has never happened again. Second trip in for an oil change (which is super affordable), and I asked about the brakes because of an intermittent squeak. He didn t try to sell me brakes, assured me that he had seen mine and I was still good to go, and explained other possible causes. Such an honest person, and trustworthy business owner. I will only ever take my BMW to his shop, and feel a great amount of relief that my car is in great hands. Thank you for everything, we really appreciate you!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Oil change

I can't say enough good things about Rick and his team. They found time to work me in when I was in a bit of a bind with my BMW, promptly diagnosed the issue that others had missed, and did not charge me for the diagnostics. We have spent thousands of dollars at another area European/import specialist, only to have to take the car back after almost every service for them to fix something they forgot or missed. No more! Rick has found a loyal customer for future services. He is knowledgeable, honest, straightforward, and it is a pleasure to do business with him.

When I called for an appointment was told they were booked, too busy and should call German motors to replace wheel bearings in my BMW

Do not go to this shop, unless you want to waste your time and be rude to. After driving for 45 minuets for my second appointment, only to be told that my parts still have not been ordered. Before my second appointment I called him several times to check on the parts, only to be told he would call me back in ten minutes. He never did, nor did he call me before my appointment to tell me my parts had not been ordered. After expressing my concern, I was told " At this point You can take your car somewhere else. I don't care." So I did, Just down the road to German Motors of Aberdeen, where they treated me with respect and appreciated my business.Service: Auto brake repair

I can t say or recommend this place enough! They are the ONLY mechanic I trust with my car. Not only is the shop immaculate, the mechanics top notch, prices are more than reasonable, but the owner is truly a phenomenal person as well. They know what they are doing, their is no sugar coating, running in circles, or BS. As a woman that drives a luxury performance import I have on occasion been given the runnaround on my car. I greatly appreciate how Rick is direct, explains everything to me, and helps keep my baby in primeCondition. I look forward to many more miles under the supervision of Rick and his team at Vintage and Modern European Services!

I am a new owner of a second-hand Porsche. I had heard good things about Vintage & Modern European Services from other Porsche owners in the area, so I decided to stop by to check out the shop. I met the owner, Rick, who is very knowledgable and passionate about Porsche. I dropped my car off a few weeks later for some work. Rick and his team did a great job, and I am very happy. They provided honest work at a fair price. Thank you - Greg

Rick and his team are the best! Very honest and dependable, they offer by far, the best service for BMW, Porsche and Mercedes in the entire county. After doing business with other 'European car experts' Rick and his Vintage and Modern Euro services is like a breath of fresh air. They really do go "the extra mile!"Service: Auto engine tuningService: Auto engine tuning

Allow me to preface this by stating that not all shops are equal. I m sure this is a surprise to no one. There are decent shops, there are good shops, great shops, and then places like this. To see a shop floor clean enough that you wouldn t hesitate to eat the piece of food you just dropped on the floor. My beloved 2004 Jetta TDI was afflicted by a cracked valve cover. The result of a timing belt and cam replacement on a high mileage engine (performed at another shop in the Charlotte area). They did a fantastic job, but parts do eventually fail. I believe that it cracked due to fatigue and old age. I had a big few weeks with important staff from my company coming up and with my normal mechanic over 2 hours away I was in quite a state of desperation. I called Rick in quite the neurotic frenzy, as I was up a certain creek and lacking a paddle.I was absolutely blown away by the level of coolness, professionalism, courtesy, and a true desire to help me fix my problem. I truly felt as though he understood the panic I was in.Despite my incessant phone calls (I can be overly neurotic and I own it), Rick never made me feel that I was inconveniencing him, but instead took the time to reassure me that he had it covered and I would be good to go by end of day Thursday at the latest.Wednesday afternoon I received a call that the work was completed at slightly less than my original estimate (which was astonishingly reasonable), and Rick worked with me to facilitate my picking the car up after hours due to my unique situation. All work completed beyond my expectations.I am involved in a similar industry where customer service and quality of work are of absolute importance, these are things I look at and judge very closely. I was blown away by every aspect of my customer experience at this establishment.I cannot thank Rick and his team enough for their hard work. If you own a European auto and take it ANY other location than here you re not only doing yourself a disservice, but your car as well.Next time you need anything looked at, give these guys a call. You won t regret it.

The many times that my father and I have brought his 1970 Porsche 911 & my 2000 Mercedes to Rick he has been very fair on price and got the work done in a respected time. On one instance he repaired and touched up my front bumper at no cost. the previous reviews are obviously people who will never be happy in life most likely never been married or on there 3rd or 4th. If your f...... $$$$ BMW is that precious to you and you can't get along with Rick the best mechanic in the sand hills maybe you should try going to the dealer and get bent over backwards without grease, ass....

I brought my BMW E46 M3 to this shop for a trans swap from SMG to manual. The mechanic there is rated as a master tech and the shop is very well kept. However, the owner is difficult to deal with. Initially, we agreed on $4000 for the job and a month at most to complete the work. My car was in his possession for over a year and a half. Upon partial completion (no electrical completed on the swap, car still not legally drivable) he tried to charge me $6000 without any prior discussion or explanation (hours of labor, parts?? something). He claimed to have lost track of the hours of labor. When I asked why he hadn't brought the additional charges up sooner, he threatened to put my car out front and be done with it in the current dismantled state. Additionally, he had emailed me stating that if the car wasn t done by an earlier agreed upon date, that a $100 a day would be removed from the total cost. By the date it was finally done (not really done), he would have been paying me to pick it up. When I mentioned the discount he had offered during the final encounter, he rebuffed, and said there was no way he was going to do that and I should forget it (I consulted a lawyer, email traffic can be deemed legally binding and contractual). I was very surprised as I had paid half up front and was expecting that a local garage would want to maintain my business (it s a BMW after all $$$$).I do not know the owner Rick, personally, but I do know I would sooner set that car on fire then send it back to his shop for so much as a cleaning. I would not recommend this shop to anyone unfortunately.Head to AutoLogic in Cary. Always read the reviews on a shop before you take your car anywhere.

I was new to town, and my Volvo XC90 began having brake issues. I went somewhere else in town, not knowing where to go and I was send to Vintage & Modern being told that it was the only place that should be trusted with a volvo in this area.Man oh man, I was not disappointed. Rick was friendly and helpful to me. I was stuck with no car and two kiddos while my husband was doing his clinical rounds and so I had no one to give me a ride. Rick was so kind that he took time out of his day to give me and my kiddos, (AND their car seats) a ride to a rental place. (For anyone who has ever gotten an uber with kiddos you know that this was a major relief and no longer a headache)The following day I received a phone call letting me know that the problem was already diagnosed and fixed. Not only did Rick thoroughly relay all information to me in a way I could understand it he took pictures to further show me what he was talking about. When I received the bill there was a clear break down of everything, and everything had been explained. I was impressed by the quality of work and the time he took to tell me everything- most people don't take the time out of their day to explain what they have done. I really appreciated that. (Much less would have taken pity on a mama with two kiddos and have given them a ride.)Any one who needs car repairs, Rick and his team can be trusted for both quality work and service that goes above and beyond the call of duty. If I could give them ten stars I would.I really cannot say enough good about Vintage & Modern. Do yourself a favor and GO HERE.

Rick is an absolute pleasure to work with. Has gone absolutely above and beyond to fix my vehicle on numerous occasions and he always does an incredible job taking care of my car. He is very knowledgeable and compassionate about what he does and it clearly reflects on his business/his practices.

Have been using Rick's shop for services on multiple vehicles for many years. I think the problem with the complainers that have rated him low is that they don't want the straight answer and Rick will give it to you straight. Rick's services are in very high demand...so if you want it bad and go somewhere else, you will get it bad. Have never had any issues what so ever, so I am happy the complainers are going somewhere else!! Rick and his happy, return customers don't have time for the sniveling crowd who want something for nothing and will still be unhappy...

Please read other one star reviews. Allow them to touch your car at *your own risk*. I called this shop and told them that my clutch pedal was sticking to the floor. The owner Rick told me that he could handle it with no problems and to bring my vehicle to him. We scheduled my vehicles visit a out a week out and he told me it should be easy. When I got there, I was met with a extreme bad and impatience attitude from the owner and was spoken to as if I were some sort of inconvenience. He never discussed any pricing with me and seemed annoyed if I asked for an estimate on how much this repair would cost. My visit had already been scheduled out a week prior, but I was told to leave my vehicle with him without an indefinite turn around rate. My discomfort and simple questions for peace of mind aggravated him and I could not understand why because this is my only vehicle and he knew that because we had already discussed that i have medical problems and the importance of transportation. I left my Porche Boxster with him, fast forward, a week goes by and not one word has been said to me. I began to call him twice a day, to no avail. The times I would call were around about an hour after opening and an hour after lunch. I finally get a hold of him and asked how was my vehicle coming along. He told me he had found the issue and already ordered the parts without consulting with me or going over any pricing what-so-ever. Fast forward some more, continued to ignore my phone calls and answer machine messages for 2 more weeks and then I started to get a little worried. I went to google and read the reviews and was sad that I didnt read this before taking my beloved Boxster to him. That's when I started call profusely. I finally get him on the phone and he told me to come pick my car up. It was dirty, it had sat out in the poor weather for weeks and the clear coat had began to peel off my rear view mirror. He told me that he kept it in the shop on a rack but I could tell this was not the case very easily. He charged me $1,200 dollars and returned my vehicle back to me in the same condition. Fed up with him, I did a simple google search and found the solution all over numerous post very easily. Typical across all manual cars, just a slave cylinder. I called the Porsche dealership out in Cary and they also told me the fix was easy and ALSO confirmed the issue to being the slave cylinder. They set me an appointment about 2 days out, and it was as simple as going there, waiting about 2 hours, and driving off with a perfectly functioning vehicle for only $387. DO NOT service your cars here. I will never go back to this place. I would not recommend them unless u feel like being scammed. Listen to the reviews. It's not worth it.

This is the best foreign auto service in the area. The owner, Rick, is incredibly knowledgeable and the service is without a peer. He hold my complete trust and completes ever service with superior quality and a fair price. He will save you thousands compared to others in the area.

Avoid this place if at all possible. Understandably the owner Rick has filled a niche in the import auto repair market in the Southern Pines / Pinehurst market, however his unprofessional attitude is completely uncalled for. Be prepared to be talked down to, and receive misinformation through poor communication. His demeanor is foul to say the least, and he honestly seems to feel "put out" by customers. Rick and I had a verbal altercation and I took my business elsewhere. He does appear to enjoy catering to the older cliental in the area that will easily open their wallets and not ask questions about his practices. Do yourself a favor if you're military as well, and seek service elsewhere as you'll be judged on your appearance. This was my case based on the snide remarks made by Rick as I exited his business. Thankfully I am an adult and have control over my emotions or things could have gone south quick! Do your research, read his reviews, and find another import service center, even if it means driving a little further. You'll thank yourself later.

Extremely Rude! The owner is put out to answer any questions, and heaven forbid you question their prices! Perhaps they should get with the 21st century and realize women can research and make educated decisions without men. I fixed my own car, no issues. Unlike when I had Rick fix it, was charged $750 and they messed up another part while doing the repair, and tried to tell me that was "normal." After a lengthy argument he finally agreed to fix the problem and not charge me. He had originally told me it would cost me to have their mistake repaired! I had two other repair shops confirm my suspicions that it was indeed NOT normal.Anytime I would say something I would get a rude, belittling response followed by, "I'm not trying to be a smartass." No, sir, you're not. You are just an ass.

I wish I could give 0 stars. I called this place to do an inspection on a local car that I was interested in buying and they were VERY RUDE. First, they refused to do this inspection because they "knew the car". Second, when I tried to ask them questions about the car they repeatedly told me that they didn't "know me". I didn't know that businesses needed to know me personally to do their job. Third, they mocked me for asking questions about the car. I asked if it would be a good everyday car and before I could finish my question the guy said, "hold on let me bring out my crystal ball and read it to tell you, I don't know you". I never write reviews for businesses but I had to come on here to tell how I was treated.

Had water pump replaced and within 2 weeks was stranded on the side of the road with new leak. Car towed to dealership where another water pump had to be installed due to persistent leak. Took the replaced water pump back to V&M Services and was refused any reimbursement for the defective pump they had installed.Service: Engine repairService: Engine repair
