Recently traded car in for a Volvo through Alan Byer. I worked with Rachael who made the process enjoyable and didn t try to sell me on items that I didn t want or need. She displayed great professionalism and answered any questions or issues that I had timely. I would definitely recommend if you re looking into buying a vehicle to look at Alan Byer as an option and request Rachael.

Had simply THE BEST car buying experience here!!! It s in several reviews already, but if you go here DEFINITELY ask for Amelia! The whole process was so stress and pressure free, did not feel like I was being pushed into something I didn t want! She was so informed on every aspect, and did an amazing job helping me find the perfect s60 for me! Trade in of my old car was a total breeze as well. Dealership overall has such a warm feel and everyone is crazy friendly. Even if not looking for a Volvo, I couldn t recommend this place enough. Pictures of my new ride attached! Five stars for an amazing turnaround in service. I originally visited on January 15th which was a holiday Monday. The dealership was a bit busy so the experience wasn t top notch. I believe in second chances and gave Alan Byer another opportunity to win my business. After speaking with employees of Alan Byer, my son and I took another drive to Syracuse and test drove a vehicle that would become the car . After driving several, after I got into the one I purchased, I knew it was the SUV for me. The comfort, the smoothness of the vehicle (being someone on the road a lot, this is important), and the safety ratings (of course safety first). The XC60 is amazing. Still figuring out the semantics as my car slammed its brakes on as I was backing into my garage - still figuring out the bells and whistles of the car, but I can work with that. It s a tight squeeze in the garage next to my husband s truck, so nice to know the vehicle is adverse to tight spots. However, it does fit in the garage and just working through the tecchy features of the car. Any way, the vehicle is amazing, Alan Byer was easy to work with. Staff was great from Jackie, Stephen, Deb, etc.Two stars for the sales rep, Brennen, for pulling around the cars that I was interested in purchasing ahead of time. I was driving from an hour away and called to see if they had the cars in stock. When I arrived it was super easy to get into the vehicles and test drive. It was a difficult decision. I ve been researching Volvo XC60s for a couple years and I know it s what I want my next car to be. Brennen was super friendly and knowledgeable about the two I had chosen to test drive.This is where the stars don t align and why I deducted the remaining stars. Brennen asked me what I wanted for my trade. I work in finance. I had pulled up KBB average trade value for my vehicle ahead of time. I gave a range. Then payment. I dislike when they ask what payment I want because I will be doing a mix of cash and financing through my employer. He didn t even ask what my down payment or cash I d like to put forward was. He said he d text me with their terms - essentially a sales agreement on an excel spreadsheet. I was disappointed (honestly it was insulting) in the trade value given. Less than half of what my car is worth for trade. I am stressing here that I know the difference between retail and trade value and this dealership offered me less than half of its trade value. I get it - they re a Volvo dealership and have no interest in Hyundai but seriously that lost my business. I let Brennen know I was very unhappy with the offer. Most dealers at that point would negotiate- come up in trade value, come down on sales price. Sales requires negotiation and persuasion as to why it s the right product for me. Absolutely nothing. Obviously didn t want to earn my business. Instead he told me I could try selling my car outright. I immediately go to discrimination as it was a bank holiday and I was off for the day. So I visited with my 15 year old son, and maybe I didn t look the part for buying a Volvo. Additionally, Brennen said there was a weird noise my car was making. It wasn t. I told him it sounded normal to me. Another tactic to get me out of his hair? I actually took it to my local mechanic because Brennen made me think something was wrong with my car. Ended up needing front brakes and an alternator and that was easily fixed within a couple hours. So I do appreciate the heads up that something sounded wrong but he made it seem like it was the Hyundai was on the fritz. I was clear with him that my engine was replaced in June 2022 and was under warranty still.I do want to mention that I wish there was a little more sales acumen. They lost a potential repeat customer.

I purchased a used Volvo from Alan Byer Volvo this month. I found a car I was interested in online and decided to travel from Albany to drive it. After I took a test drive, we knew we found the one. When we picked it up last week, I couldn't have been happier with the car or the experience. I would encourage those in the market to consider a Volvo and to consider Alan Byer Volvo.

Excellent experience. My 6 month old electric Volvo with 4,000 miles was hit by someone who ran a stop sign. Volvo service center successfully advocated to have my car totaled. Deborah Matticio was compassionate and made every effort to accommodate and secure a new vehicle. She assured me she would make this process as effortless as possible for me. She was successful. Picked up a new electric Volvo this morning. I am a true Volvo loyalist.

My car buying experience was streamlined from the time I walked into the Alan Byer Volvo dealership to the moment I drove off with my New (Certified Pre Owned) Volvo. Rachael Myers was attentive and understanding throughout the entire process. At no time did I feel any pressure to buy a vehicle, which was refreshing! When making a large purchase, I want to feel heard, comfortable and satisfied, and they were able to provide that for me. Rachael & the Alan Byer team restored my faith in the car buying experience!

Our experience at Alan Byer was fantastic. Our sales consultant, Amelia, was extremely comfortable to work with and made the buying experience low stress and easy! The minute we walked into the showroom we were welcomed with a warm greeting. We let the greeter know what car we were there to look at and by the time we were introduced to Amelia and went over some wants etc, the lot specialist already had the car pulled up, warmed up and ready for a test drive (without a sales person sitting in the back seat!). After our test drive, we returned to the dealership and Amelia had already had our trade evaluated and had numbers/financing etc all ready for us. We ended up purchasing the vehicle and felt we were given a good price/trade eval. Picking up the car was very smooth and the car was perfectly detailed and ready to go. Even the follow up after the sale has been great, very sincere and not invasive. Thanks for an excellent experience Amelia!!!

Rachael at Alan Byer Volvo was INCREDIBLE and made our first ever EV purchase feel seamless. Despite being over 1,000 miles away in Syracuse and helping us buy remotely from Chicago over only email & phone -- all the week before Christmas -- she made the entire experience so quick, simple and easy. Her attention to detail and awesome service gave us total confidence in our purchase. We're 1,000 miles in on our new Volvo C40 and very happy with it - thank you so much, Rachael & team!

Just leased a new 2024 xc60 recharge and couldn't be happier. The experience at Alan Byer Volvo, curated by the amazing Deborah Metticio, was flawless: efficient, informed, and transparent. We've purchased vehicles from other dealers, and the delivery experience was often excruciatingly slow and disorganized. It was the exact opposite at Alan Byer. I actually think they have a business opportunity open to them in providing customer service consulting services to other public-facing businesses. I'd recommend the Alan Byer Volvo team to anyone considering a Volvo. Even if it involves a drive to get there (we live an hour and twenty minutes away), it's worth it.

I had a wonderful buying experience from Alan Byer. Debbie helped me order a new V60 Recharge Polestar. This car is really hard to come by, but she went the extra mile to help me get one. It came even earlier than expected, they were fair with my trade in, and there were no hidden costs. Everyone at the dealership was great to work with. Even though it was 90 miles out of the way for me, I wouldn t hesitate to buy another Volvo from here.

Great place to buy a Volvo. They are a true Volvo dealer, not selling any other brands, specializing in everything Volvo. Their sales staff is great, trying to help in every way they can to make the purchase easy. I'd for sure buy there again, if I didn't live 533 miles away in central Maine. My purchase was a 2024 black V60 Polestar Engineered that I couldn't get anywhere else, and I'm loving it.

I can t say enough about how happy we are with our purchase from this dealership! Debbie and Amanda made this long distance purchase an experience we will not forget! The consistent communication between us to make sure all of our questions were answered was amazing! They even went out of their way to help return my rental vehicle. The only place in CNY that you'd want to get a Volvo. New or used, buy or lease, it doesn't matter- they work hard to make sure every customer happy. They even have a selection of other brand vehicles on their pre-owned lot that that have met the standards of the meticulous service techs that Alan Byer customers have come to expect. There's a reason this company has been in business for over 60 years.

Debbie Matticio she is simply amazing. Went above and beyond. Maybe was not supposed to, but will share that she held a car for me as I was buying from out of town (some years ago so perhaps rules have changed don t want to get anyone in trouble). I coordinated having the car inspected by a third-party (lemon squad) and she was very instrumental having the car ready for them. Car was described accurately (cargurus). Purchase was very smooth. She was firm with price but fair. Lastly, was arranging for out of town delivery I went with third-party delivery service and she helped me vet them. Phenomenal service. Continues to stay in touch. Amelia made car shopping so easy and convenient! She made sure we found exactly what we wanted and took care of all the details so that all we had to do was show up and pay for it. She let us know our options but was never pushy and respected our needs and our budget. She was also very personable and a pleasure to work with. I absolutely love my new Volvo XC60. My salesperson, Amelia Trenga, was fantastic! At the time I went in to look at the Volvo, I was in the process of also considering an Audi Q5. Amelia took the time to sit with me to compare the features of both cars, to assure I was feeling 100% confident with my choice. She even went as far as sitting in the Volvo with me as I compared pictures of the Audi dashboard to the Volvo. I've been driving my older Volvo for 14 years, and Amelia could tell that this was a big decision for me. I really appreciated that. She made the process of purchasing my Volvo seamless, as she handled all of the details (hassles) for me. As you can imagine, there have been many technology upgrades since my purchase 14 years ago. Amelia took the time to sit with me to explain the many wonderful features. When I drove off with my new car, I was beaming ear to ear. Thank you Amelia!!

Overall a very relaxed and positive buying experience. Amelia was very responsive to our questions throughout the process and "pulled a few strings" to secure the cars we ultimately decided on. Amelia went to bat for us during the negotiation process and helped secure several concessions. Highly recommend.
