Went in for a simple oil change, I was there early. After the job was completed. My car was returned, I checked the oil dip stick, and there was no reading!?. I checked 2 more times to be sure. Dry as a beach. I then checked to see if the oil gauge was changed. Nope!. I went inside and showed the counter associate the problem. He then went and got the person who did the oil change. The guy swore he filled it, but I had to remind him to reset the oil gauge. So they finally brought the car in and back out to me. So, as I pulled off, I noticed they didn't even put a new oil sticker on my windshield, reminding me of the next oil change. I'm just hoping that they actually put full synthetic at this point. I will never go back there again. This part is not shade. The place looks deserted, and with a note of some changes, they are about to take place.

This place is great. They were quite quick and efficient the changes my breaks and helped me get an oil change in a matter of less then an hour or two. They answered all my questions and helped me out so much. Go to them for all your car needs.

Never heard of a company giving a car back dirty with tire lube all over the tire, brake dust hand prints all over hood, never replaced valve stems, the red dot is not lined up across from the valve stem not to mention the one rim is burned beyond repair and the excuse was "we made the customer aware it could be damaged" like no, it's they used a damn torch to heat the lugs....a bolt buster would have did the job without the damage to the rim.pep boys on forest Ave gotta be the worst tire shop on the island.

Amazing customer service.Prompt timing, Professional and courteous.This particular pep boys location(Forest Ave) are not a bunch of thieves. They actually saved me money as opposed to what Island chevy was looking to charge me for the same service. Do yourself a favor and do not go to your dealership.Go to Pep boys

A guard on the underneath of my car was pulled off while I was in town for a funeral. The Pep Boys crew popped the guard back on for me and didn t charge me for the time. This kindness on what was a terrible and sad day for me was such a ray of sunshine, a simple act that made a big difference! I am very appreciative.

Pep Boys on Forest Avenue, Staten Island, NY, excessively overcharged me.They damaged the oil pan during an oil change which cost over $150 to get fixed at another more reliable but overpriced Honda service center. So I had to waste my time and spend more money to fix a problem they caused.They never included the free tire rotation with tire purchase as advertised.

I have brought my personal vehicles here before and their have been significant long waits, even though i scheduled an appointment online, then the car sits there for hours for just simple work. I recently brought my work fleet car to this location 3 different times. I specifically said I m there for just an oil change and fluids but somehow without my knowledge or consent they contact fleet to change brakes and a simple 30-60 minute oil change turns into being in pep boys for 5-6 hours. This last time, I made an online appointment again for an oil change and battery replacement, and I specifically said to not work on anything else and the representative tells me that their fleet system is down and can t work on fleet vehicles. I persistent and explained it needs to get done today and by some miracle the fleet system worked for me. But now I ve been in prep boys for 4 hours for an oil change and battery replacement. I will no longer come to this location do work on any of my personal or work vehicles. Staff is friendly but wait times for oil change or battery change is unacceptable.

The service here has steadily improved for the last few years. Their prices are very competitive and their service is very reliable. I have been recommending them to friends and family. I would recommend you give them a try! I love how you can track the service on your phone! My one complaint is that they need to improve the facilities. The waiting area needs a lot of TLC.

Fantastic Place.... They Took Me Right Away... And Had The Job Done in 45 Minutes and Not The Hour As Promised.....Mechanics Are Super Friendly .... I have received incredible service for the many times I had my car serviced here. Especially from Remon. He went above and beyond to make sure me and my dad were taken care of when we dropped off our car. He even made sure we had a way of getting back home safely since the car was going to be in the shop all day and we had a bunch of errands to run. Remon provided us with excellent service and was super kind throughout the process. If you ever visit this Pep Boys, I would highly recommend doing service with Remon.

I took my car in because I was having a coolant issue. They could not get to it until today. I got my car back and drove a short distance before the thermostat went up near the red.So, they evaluated my car again and they told me I have a head gasket issue. Why was this not discovered the first time? Now, I have to wait until tomorrow to my car to a dealer, where it already could be if the problem was diagnosed sooner, then figure out how I am going to get to and back home from work. Never againEdit: I took my car to the dealer, and the problem was the radiator and thermostat. Why was this not diagnosed by them?

I've been a pep boys customer for years. I've been there for oil changes, new tires, etc. I purchased a lifetime wheel alignment 4-5 years ago. I've had to get an alignment done maybe 3 times altogether. I had some trouble having ot done depending on the location I went to; from the machine not working, very long wait wait, unable to do it at the time. This time I went to the Parlin NJ location, they tell me they cannot find my purchase of the lifetime wheel alignment in their system, and I have to call the location where I purchased it to get the order number. I found it strange, but I called the location in Staten Island, where I purchased it at and they said that they don't see it either. After complaining, I'm told to call the corporate office. Corporate now says they 'updated' their system and don't have a record of purchases that are over 1 year old. I'm told I will have to submit a copy of my bank statement from 4-5 years ago proving I made the purchase. I recently had front-end work done and needed the alignment done, and I could not wait the several weeks it would take to solve this ridiculous situation. So, I had to take my business elsewhere to have an alignment done after I had already paid for the service at pep boys. I find a lot wrong with the whole thing. How can they conveniently not be able to find a purchase after 'updating' their system? They can see from my loyalty account how long I've been a customer and that had alignments done in the past, but they couldn't find the actual purchase unless I can prove it with my bank statement. The service hasn't been the best throughout the years, but this is totally ridiculous. Needless to say, they lost a years long customer. Just horrible.

Place is trash, They replaced a starter that started grinding like hell 5 starts later. They wouldn't even check to see what happened and automatically tried charging me more for a fly wheel job.. I went to a trusted reputable mechanic the same day to find out they installed a refurbished starter and on top of it broke the bolt that holds the starter and left it like that. The starter was loose and grinding against the fly wheel. Needless to say the starter was damaged and had to be replaced again with the broken bolt removed and replaced.. no need for a fly wheel like they suggested without even looking at there mistakes... I will be disputing my credit card payment.. BEWARE

Went here in a pinch when my alternator died. They made time to diagnose and service my car. $700 and 2 hours later I drove it off the lot and the battery symbol came back up on my dash. Took it to the Pep boys in Long Island city Queens and it turns out they installed a faulty alternator. You would think I'd get a good one for $450. What a wild markup. Grateful they could get me back on the road but if you're gonna gouge people for parts at least use quality ones. Glad pep boys had a good warranty policy. At least I didn't have to drive all the way back to Staten. Buyer beware.

My son was on his way to NJ from Long Island and started having an issue with the Jeep brakes. It was late Saturday but Jonathan took him in and repaired everything very quickly and the team was actually there late to finish. Really nice and dedicated crew. Great experience!

Had new tires installed at this location and left with dirt/grease stained on my fabric interior seats from whoever s dirty hands touched them. If you order your tires from Tirerack to be delivered to this location, make sure you call the store when they re delivered . I had a problem with my order/appointment from a mistake someone made, which I didn t hold against them. Mistakes happen. Could have been a better experience if my interior left in the same condition it was brought in.

If you coming for an inspection wait to spend at least an hr .they go on their breaks without telling you and just having you wait. They got so upset that i even complained that they didnt even tell me if inspetion passed or not they just left the paper work in the car for me to find out. A simple inspection shouldnt take over 1hr A disrespect to customers time, would had give 0 stars if the option was available.

They are an awesome team there!! Especially Chris at the front desk and Chris working on the cars! They were very informative and showed me a hole in my oil pain before doing the oil change!!! Great people there!

Lifetime wheel alignment was purchased for my vehicle approximately 2014. Vehicle was brought in, but lifetime wheel alignment wasn't honored. Advisor was able to locate past wheel alignment performed on my vehicle, but didn't proceed to honor lifetime wheel alignment. Advisor was not able to locate original purchase receipt of lifetime wheel alignment, and service wasn't performed. Please hold on to your original receipts to avoid inconvenience. Manager was not present, to discuss possibly solution.

The amount of money my fianc� spent to fix the car here should almost guarantee well have no issues a few weeks later. Problems were supposedly fixed after a diagnostic test was preformed and we were ASSURED ALL ISSUES WERE ADDRESSED, damn near 2k spent yet can t even safely ride in the car cause it s still having problems. it s the holidays, instead of out getting things needed I am home until car is situated. It s ridiculous. The BBB is gonna have a field day with this one, and yes we ve got receipts

The entire staff is always super friendly, the repairs are quick and efficient & I ve had nothing but great experiences there so far. I ve gotten tired done, and their full diagnostic service found things the dealership didn t even care to mention. One of my newer tires unfortunately got a bolt it in while driving, and they repaired it at no cost. Just recently went for an oil change and was in and out.

Purchased 2 front new tires in oct.went to have wheel check light & was told I needed two front tires..I think they never replaced front tires & took my good back Firestone tires instead. Buyer be ware!!

I set appt before I went for a oil change. Used a 10 dollar coupon from online from their website. Service took around 50mins for regular oil change. I asked if they did free tire rotation I was told they can but I probably should pay for balancing the tires too. Which was 16 a tire. He said no point in doing tire rotation if I'm not gonna do balancing. Not sure how accurate that is. Sort of felt like they wanted me to do extra service or they didnt do the free tire rotation that was included in the oil change. Just my thoughts. Other than that service was ok, price was good.

Employees were very friendly and got my car inspected and serviced in a timely fashion! I was even notified of a coupon when I came to pick up my car and pay for the services! Will definitely be back next time I m in Staten Island

Took my car there for an inspection, they failed me for "bad control arms, lights facing down, and a bad rear view mirror", then didn't give me a temp inspection and still charged me $35, and tried to get me to pay $2000 to have the arms replaced. The very next day, without making any changes to my car, I took it to another location, who thoroughly looked over the car and immediately passed me, and only charged me $10. Don't make the same mistake I did by getting your inspection here, they'll only waste your time and try to steal your money.

I was taken right away and there wasn t a long wait, even though I went in the later afternoon. (I thought there would be since it s close to the holidays). The employees were friendly, replaced what was needed in the coffee area for me & store was clean.

So imagine struggling to save for a new car. While you re trying to save for a new car your old car starts to act up on u. U go to pep boys to find out why your check engine light is on. U r told that it will take 5 hours and 2,474.00 to fix your problem with parts and labor. Which is all the money u have in the world, so your stuck now because it s Friday 3pm, u can t get a second opinion and u need to get to work and there s no one to help u. U reluctantly give up your money cause u need your car. The problem persist for 5 weeks of back and forth. Robbing me was supposed to b a smoother transition I guess, but that s what happens when u try to rob people. It took them 5 weeks to get my check engine light off AFTER they had supposedly fixed it. Then u find out months later after seeing another mechanic that the job was never 5 hours of labor. It should have taken 30 minutes to a hour to do the what they did. Even the parts I was overcharged for. It will never happen again. Thank you Pep boys for taking 2,474 dollars from me for a job that was only about $600. Thieves. I will never go back to Pep boys on forest Ave. Why would u do this to people? It s not fair and I m telling what u did, maybe I can save another poor soul like myself that struggles to save money for the things they need in life. We don t all have thousands to just hand over to u. People have kids and families. Think about that next time your robbing someone.I will never trust u again.
