The service was excellent . Gave me options on how to repair my carExplained the problems and was very friendly. Great warranty on the part and even referred me to another mechanic for other car needs. I hope to never have to do this again. But if I had to, I would come back to opitz.

My work sends their transmissions here, I've had to deal with them first hand which made me think of bringing my personal acadia here. They were flat out busy, but fit me in and the week they said they'd have it done, they did.Fresh rebuild with a re-man torque converter. Go here if ever another issue

Steve is an extremely dishonest man!! My husband and I went to his shop based off the recommendation by a trusted mechanic. We brought the car in and he told us the problem was the transfer case so he said we had to replace the transfer case. We trusted him and went with a new system In order to have a longer warranty, it cost us $3,000 for him to fix it, this includes parts and labor. Once the work was completed, he told us that one of the tires were mismatched and this was the cause of the initial damage to the transfer case, so we needed to change the tires. A few days after picking the car up; we noticed the problem had returned, however we figured we needed to change the tires before we attempted to have him look at it again. Since it was the holiday season we changed all 4 tires a soon as we could get in a shop which was within 2 weeks. The problem has persisted and when we were finally able to get an appointment to bring the car in for him to look at again he is now telling us that it s an entirely different problem that s causing the SAME issue we originally went there for . Basically refused to do anything to help us or refund us our money since he clearly didn t fix anything. Between the service charge, parts, and having to buy new tires we spent around $4000 just to have the exact same issue and now he s telling us it s a completely different part of the car. This man is NOT a good man. He has NO once of shame or remorse for the fact that we followed everything he recommended and nothing was resolved. He just took our money but clearly didn t have a clue how to fix the issue. He has NO integrity or perhaps he just doesn t service certain groups of people.Needless to say we are going to be seeking further action.Service: Transmission

My husband and I were on a trip to Buffalo, but low and behold our transmission blew on the throughway. We got towed here as it was recommended by another tow company and the tow truck driver that picked us up. We stayed the night with the truck because it was late, and when Steve got there in the morning, he wasn't upset with us just showing up on his doorstep like 2 lost little puppies. Steve was great, amazing, wonderful, all of the things you would want in a repair shop owner! He helped out my husband under the hood, topped off our fluids, etc and was only going to charge us for the fluid used. I insisted he charge my card for more because he spent a good hour helping us out. Sadly our truck didn't make it far, but that's not Steve's fault by any means. We're currently deciding whether or not it's worth repairing, and if we repair it, even though they're booked out about 3 weeks, this is where we'll be bringing it. Steve went above and beyond to help us out, give us directions towards back roads, etc. You just don't find shops like this anymore. Thank you Steve for being a great person!

I spoke with both Tony and Steve when I was told by the dealership I needed to replace my transmission. They both were very honest and helpful. They were very knowledgeable about the process and took the time to answer all of my questions. I ended up not fixing the transmission but if I ever have transmission needs in the future, I will be calling Opitz!

The staff at Opitz is friendly and honest. These guys have a ton of integrity and will not overcharge you or charge you for a service that is not needed. In a world where mechanics cheating unknowning customers is commonplace these guys do not sacrifice integrity for the extra buck! It is very much appreciated. I would recommend their shop to anyone.

My transmission went out on my truck. I took it opitz transmission Inc . They advised me my transmission was bad. My torque converter was bad as well. They had my truck up and running in a week. We were a long way from home hauling a loaded 38' flatbed. We lost our transmission on the interstate. When I started to call transmission shops, Steve from Opitz Transmission was the first to go out of his way to assist us. From having the truck and trailer towed off the highway, to properly assessing the damages, to telling us to call him any time after hours on his private line, to properly sending us on our way with a clean bill of health. I have never had such a positive experience with a transmission shop. Will do business again! Thanks Opitz Transmission! These guys know their stuff!

Broke down on the highway and my regular mechanic sent me here. They quickly checked the codes on my car and told me that they didn't think it was actually a transmission issue and I would have to take it to a dealership. They were super great in helping me figure out what I needed to do (I'm car illiterate). So while I didn't actually get to use their services, I totally would in the future.

I have been a customer of Opitz Transmissions on Vanvranken Avenue for several years now. I have brought my daughters cars there and my own personal vehicles. The service is top rate and they are fair. They do not invent things to make the bill higher, only do the work that is needed. They always explain exactly what the problem is, and then fix it. I could not give a higher rating to this company, Steve the manager, and the team.I rate them a 10.
